Chapter 8: Sealing (Part 2)
The group flew forward for a distance before landing by a stream.
After touching down, Ceresine let out a long sigh and said, “Phew, we’re finally on solid ground. This journey has been terrifying.” She hopped around a few times and did some stretching exercises to relax her muscles. Monier stared at her for a while before saying, “That girl is quite pretty. Hehe, no wonder the darling took her with him.”
Guo Shieru was speechless. Monier always spoke without restraint; even though Guo Shieru was now a top-tier expert, she still said whatever she wanted.
Ceresine couldn’t help but laugh. She had never seen Guo Shieru look so grim before and wondered curiously: How could this woman call him “darling”?
Guo Shieru asked, “Master, Masteress, how did you end up in the Star Sacrifice Realm?”
Only then did Ceresine realize that this woman was actually Guo Shieru’s masteress.
Kumu’s expression remained cold, but his eyes sparkled with excitement. He was usually quiet and reserved. Monier rushed to say, “It’s all to improve our strength. We got lost here and didn’t expect we’d never be able to leave. Hehe, but our strength has improved rapidly. I already have a tenth-level altar… Hehe.”
Guo Shieru felt a slight heaviness in his heart. He knew that to enter the Star Sacrifice Realm, one needed to have an altar at the seventh, eighth, or ninth level to advance to a higher tier. Clearly, when the two entered, they hadn’t reached the seventh-level altar—maybe only the sixth, or even the fifth.
Kumu asked, “How did you get here?”
Guo Shieru sighed and said, “It’s a long story. Let’s sit down and rest for a while.” He led Kumu and Monier to an open area and summoned a Hidden Talisman House.
Ceresine was amazed again as a delicate two-story building appeared before her eyes. She couldn’t help but rub her eyes. Monier smiled and took her hand, saying, “This is our Hidden Talisman House, unique to our clan of spellcasters. We can use it anytime.”
The group entered the room and sat down. Only then did Li Ran say, “It’s been a long time, huh, Kumu.”
Kumu bowed and said, “Yes, it’s been a long time. How have you been, senior?”
Li Ran waved his hand and said, “No need to call me senior. Hehe, I’m brothers with Shieru. Just call me Li Ran.”
Apart from master and disciple relationships, the clan of spellcasters didn’t have many rules regarding interactions with other professionals. Kumu nodded and said, “Understood.”
Guo Shieru took out various foods, mainly marinated meat and dried rations, and quickly cooked a pot of hot soup. He said, “Let’s eat something first. We haven’t had enough to eat along the way, hehe.”
Monier sat down next to Guo Shieru, pulled him into her arms, and hugged him tightly before letting go. She said, “Baby, I miss you so much.”
Sericeline couldn’t help but laugh again; she loved seeing Guo Shieru look embarrassed. In fact, Guo Shieru was deeply moved. He also missed the Kuumu couple, especially Monier, who had doted on him since he was young. The two of them were like mother and son. He had only seen his biological mother a few times in his life; most of the time, it was Monier who took care of him. Therefore, he truly respected and loved her from the bottom of his heart. Even if Monier said or did something outrageous, he wouldn’t object at all.
Guo Shieru took Monier’s hand and said, “I searched countless places. By the way, master, have you received my message talismans? Here… I used the last one you gave me.”
Kuumu shook his head. “I haven’t received any.”
Li Ran said, “It’s normal not to receive them. The space here is unstable, with many spatial cracks. The talismans might have been destroyed by those cracks.”
Kuumu asked, “I gave you many talismans back then. How come only the last one is left?”
Guo Shieru smiled bitterly. “Every time I went to a new place, I would send out a talisman. Hehe… I used them all. I’ve been looking for you guys for a long time.”
Kuumu nodded. “No wonder. By the way, have you gone back?”
Guo Shieru knew he was referring to the Chenxiao Sect. He shook his head. “The Chenxiao Sect no longer exists… it was destroyed.”
Kuumu and Monier were shocked and stood up, their expressions changing. Monier asked, “What do you mean?”
Guo Shieru said, “When I went back… I saw Uncle Zhu Juan, but… he didn’t make it…”
Monier immediately burst into tears. Kuumu’s face turned pale as well. He slowly sat down and said, “Tell me… tell me in detail…” In an instant, he seemed much older.
Guo Shieru recounted everything that had happened, including the destruction of the Beifu Gate and his revenge mission, in which he destroyed his enemies and took over their continent.
Sericeline listened in awe, realizing that the world of talismans was also a place full of bloodshed, with killing and revenge happening at all times.
Guo Shier said, “Master, Masteress, once we enter the realm of sacrificing stars, we won’t be able to return. I’ve already avenged myself and destroyed their sect. Sigh, there’s no need to worry anymore…” No matter how great the hatred, it’s useless if they can’t return. Besides, Guo Shier had already killed the main culprits, so even if they returned, there would be no one left to avenge them.
Kumu and Monier sat there in silence for a long time. After a while, Kumu smiled wistfully and said, “This is the fate of us professionals—we will ultimately die in battle. I hope they die fighting bravely. That’s their destiny, and it’s also ours.”
Monier silently shed tears, but it was only for a moment before she recovered. After all, she wasn’t an ordinary person but a professional who had experienced countless battles and was accustomed to life and death. The reason she cried earlier was because the news came so suddenly. Although she knew she couldn’t return, she still hoped her family and loved ones would be safe. With a hoarse voice, she said, “It’s a pity… I can’t avenge myself personally. But since Baobei will do it for me, I can feel at peace.”
Guo Shier asked, “Master, Masteress, do you have a place to settle here?”
Monier shook her head slightly and said, “We just keep moving around. There are too few usable materials here. We need to conduct experiments constantly. Without materials, our progress has come to a complete halt, so we have no choice but to keep traveling. It’s impossible for us to settle down.”
Guo Shier said, “Master, Masteress, let’s go together.”
Kumu and Monier exchanged a glance and nodded at the same time. There were too few professionals of the Spellcraft Clan here. It was hard to find anyone to communicate with. Even when they encountered someone, they could only have brief conversations before parting ways.
Kumu said, “Good. There are too few professionals here. Being with you will make it easier for us to communicate.”
Monier said, “I want to stay with Baobei.” This made everyone laugh. After all, Guo Shier was a top-tier professional, whose strength even Li Ran and Qi Wu Zhen admired greatly. Especially during this battle against the Void Worm, he solved a major problem. Spaces that could lead to the Greater World were extremely rare in this world, and even if they existed, it was unknown when they could be found.
Li Ran said, “Welcome to our squad. Hehe, our squad’s strength has grown again.”
Qi Wu Zhen asked, “We’re going to the Greater World. Will you… come too?”
Kumu was puzzled, “What Greater World?”
Li Ran said, “How about this? I’ll pass on a short piece of knowledge to you all for you to consider.” He organized a brief concept of the Greater World and transmitted it directly to everyone. Except for Guo Shier, everyone received it, including Seraphine. Such knowledge was extremely rare, so Seraphine’s soul could handle it, but even so, she suffered from headaches for several hours.
After processing this information, everyone showed expressions of surprise. Wang Dayang exclaimed in delight, “So that’s how it is… What are we then? Ah, so the Ancient Tianling Clan came from the Greater World. No wonder the space here is unstable—this is the reason. They must have forced their way in, using some unknown method to break through space and enter this world.”
Li Ran said, “I don’t know the specifics either. One thing is clear: the Ancient Tianling Clan must be a very powerful race in the Greater World. As for why they came here… there might be reasons we don’t know. Hehe, by abandoning this place, they gave us an opportunity—a chance to go to the Greater World. If we can deal with the Void Worms, it will clear the way for us to enter the Greater World. I’m 50% confident! With good luck, even 60% or 70%!”
Kumu and Monier discussed it for a while, after which Kumu said, “We’ll go too!” Guo Shier wasn’t surprised by their decision. With no family or sect left, they didn’t know where to go either. Having the Greater World as a goal, they would naturally follow.
Seraphine hesitated for a moment before asking softly, “Can I go?”
Guo Shier replied, “It’s very dangerous. With your strength…” He didn’t dare continue. Everyone understood that with Seraphine’s abilities, she might not survive halfway there.
Seraphine’s expression changed slightly, but she quickly became determined and said, “I won’t complain!”
Guo Shier looked at Li Ran, knowing that only Li Ran could make this decision.
Li Ran said, “You won’t complain… Well, you can go. It’s your own choice. But when danger arises, don’t regret it. Regret won’t help then.”
Seraphine nodded. “With Shier protecting me, I… I’m not afraid!”
Guo Shier instinctively covered his forehead. Since when had he become entangled with Seraphine?
Monier asked curiously, “Baby, is this your little wife?”
Guo Shier hurriedly replied, “No.”
Ceciline’s face turned red immediately. Deep down, she was willing to agree—someone with such formidable skills was certainly the best partner. For the Blade Clan, only the strong were worthy of a woman’s choice. Although she understood that Guo Shier didn’t mean it that way, hearing his reply still made her feel a bit uncomfortable. She forced a smile and said, “I’m just following Shier… to learn and gain experience.”
Monier said meaningfully, “Oh, I see.”
