Chapter 9: Destruction (Part 2)

Over the course of two days, the trapping formation and the killing formation had consumed over ten thousand Soul Bead. Meanwhile, Guo Shier and the others replenished several thousand more. This place was different from the World of Spells—there, so many Soul Beads weren’t needed to activate formations. But this was a different world, where the formations clashed with the local powers.

Guo Shier said, “Elder Shuai, there are probably still hundreds of thousands outside, but they’ve stopped moving. I guess they won’t enter the formation…” Hundreds of thousands of Purple Armored Men—neither many nor few—if it came down to fighting, the nine of them really couldn’t kill them all.

Elder Shuai said, “They’re retreating…”

Indeed, the Purple Armored Men were pulling back. Guo Shier flew down from the magic pillar, and the others gathered as well. Zhen Wuji asked, “They’ve retreated. What should we do?”

Li Ran sighed and said, “What else can we do? Chase after them. If they resist, we’ll lure them back into the formation.”

Qi Wu Zhen said, “We can’t leave until we kill them all.” Her tone was calm, but her killing intent was fierce.

Except for Halechi, who stayed in the main formation to control it, everyone rushed out. They flew over the heads of the Purple Armored Men, blocking their path. Aizek and Meili charged into the crowd, while Li Ran and the others used their Virtual Spell Hands to slap wildly, driving the Purple Armored Men back and forcing them into the formation.

The Purple Armored Men seemed to have completely lost the will to resist. Driven by extreme fear, they scurried around like headless flies.

A complete rout. The Purple Armored Men scattered in all directions, but most were still driven back into the formation.

A message token was sent, and Halechi immediately cast a spell before teleporting away. With a loud explosion, the entire formation shattered, turning to ashes along with the Purple Armored Men who had entered it. At most, a few tens of thousands remained, already fleeing into the distance.

The group had no interest in continuing the pursuit. Li Ran activated the Boundary Breaker and said, “It’s time to leave.”

Guo Shier sighed. “Finally, we can leave. Sigh, I hope we can leave this small world soon…”

Li Ran said, “Don’t expect to enter the Greater World right away. I don’t know how many more small worlds we’ll have to go through. I just hope it goes smoothly, and the enemies in these small worlds aren’t too strong.”

A moment later, the group re-entered this strange city. The entire city was silent, devoid of any sound, in utter stillness. No Purple Armored Men were in sight, and the wide streets were covered in large patches of dark blood. Under Li Ran’s lead, they quickly flew toward the center of the city.

Guided by the path to breaking through the boundaries, Li Ran quickly found the weak point of this small world. As he had expected, the weak point was located in the city center, on the side of a huge square.

Li Ran said, “Let’s take a short rest before leaving this hellish place.”

The group couldn’t help but cheer, and even Qi Wu Zhen breathed a sigh of relief. She had also felt immense pressure; no matter how strong her abilities or how resilient her will was, she still felt uncomfortable. Back in the World of Spells, when she had slaughtered indiscriminately, her soul was in chaos, and killing countless people didn’t affect her at all. But now that she was clear-headed and normal, she didn’t like such killing either.

Guo Shier Two hesitated for a moment. He had originally wanted to search the city, but decided it was better not to create unnecessary trouble. The group rested and ate, bringing out their dried food and meat. Guo Shier Two took out a few bottles of wine to moisten their throats.

After resting for half an hour, Li Ran stood up and said, “Xiao Zhen Zhen, let’s start breaking through the boundaries.”

Qi Wu Zhen stood up and replied, “Okay.”

Guo Shier Two suddenly turned around and said, “Someone’s coming…” The group turned to look, and silently, four figures appeared in the center of the square, gradually becoming clearer.

Halechi couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise, “Golden ones?” They had seen purple-armored and black-armored people before, but golden-armored people were a first, and there were four of them at that. The group immediately realized these four golden-armored people were not to be trifled with—just four of them dared to appear in front of them.

Li Ran cursed inwardly. Being disturbed again annoyed him greatly. It was now impossible to leave forcefully. His face darkened as he said indifferently, “These guys can’t be killed easily. Aizek, take them on!”

Aizek had no objection to being a mere enforcer. He loved fighting. Having killed so many purple-armored people earlier, he hadn’t felt anything. In his mind, whoever tried to kill him would be killed without hesitation, and killing more wouldn’t cause him any pressure.

Aizek responded immediately and stepped forward. Since he couldn’t communicate with them, he didn’t bother talking. He simply stretched out his thick arms, palms up, one finger extended, and a sharp claw shot out, sweeping forward. Such a provocation could only go unnoticed if the opponent wasn’t a sentient being.

The four golden-armored people were different from the purple- and black-armored ones. They also had biological masks, but now they had expressions, with a faint golden glow flowing in their eyes. They were shorter than the black-armored people, about a little over two meters tall, and lacked whip-like appendages on their arms, making them more human-like.

The men in golden armor stood side by side, with an indifferent expression on their faces. When Ezekiel stretched out his finger and triggered a claw-like weapon, it clearly angered one of the men in golden armor. He stepped forward slowly, rubbed his hands together slightly, and immediately a weapon appeared. Without saying a word, he stepped forward step by step.

It was a very strange weapon. The man in golden armor held it by the handle, which had blade-like weapons at both ends, looking as if two long knives’ handles had been combined with the tips facing outward. At first glance, it resembled a long bow, except without a string. Even more peculiar was that the blades at both ends were illusory, like glass, fluctuating before their shapes became visible.

Guo Shier didn’t hold back and warned, “Ezekiel, be careful of his weapon—it’s strange!”

Ezekiel dismissed it, saying, “I’ll tear him apart!” With that, he charged forward. Guo Shier sighed slightly, knowing Ezekiel had his pride and confidence, and he hadn’t taken his words seriously. Still, he recognized Ezekiel’s strength. The only thing that puzzled him was the weapon of the man in golden armor, which instinctively felt threatening.

A golden flash flashed in the eyes of the man in golden armor as well, and he charged forward. His strange weapon disappeared instantly, and he head-on collided with Ezekiel with a punch.

Everyone’s gaze turned stern. The man in golden armor was extremely fast—having started later, he still managed to meet Ezekiel’s punch. Moreover, his sudden disappearance of the weapon posed a great threat, as no one knew when he would use it again.

Boom!

Both of them stepped back significantly at the same time, ending the fight in a tie, which surprised everyone.

Ezekiel also couldn’t believe this result. Thinking he had been careless, he roared and charged again. This time, he used all his strength, his body emitting cracking sounds—the sound of bones vibrating. With a whoosh, black cracks appeared around him, a sign that space was about to tear apart.

The man in golden armor let out a shrill cry, bent down, and stomped hard on the ground, creating a large pit with a loud bang. His waist stretched out, and along with the cry, he threw a punch.

Crack! Boom!

Both of them used all their strength in this punch, without any fancy moves, colliding head-on before being sent flying. Ezekiel roared in pain. Looking down, he saw his fist covered in blood—this punch had torn his flesh apart. Fortunately, his bones were strong, but the pain was unbearable, instantly changing his expression.

The armored man swung his arm, splattering blood everywhere; he also noticed blood on his fists. He was less lucky than Ezekiel—his hand bones were cracked—but he had a biological mask on his face, so no one could see his expression changes.

Beauty grew worried. With a roar, she dashed forward. Ezekiel shouted, “Go back! You’re not needed!” Then he charged forward as well. This time, instead of using his fists, he unleashed ten sharp claws, and a tail extended from behind him. His thighs suddenly became thick and strong, making a thudding sound as he stepped on the ice.

“I’ll tear you apart!”

The armored man said nothing and rushed at him. Even more aggressive than his opponent, he moved his legs alternately, moving like an arrow and instantly reaching Ezekiel’s side.

Ten claw marks flashed by, accompanied by a series of hissing sounds. Suddenly, a weapon appeared in the armored man’s hand and swept through the air. Ezekiel let out a scream. In an instant, the weapon in the armored man’s hand generated countless thin threads, forcing Ezekiel to dodge desperately. Li Ran stepped forward in a flash, appearing beside Ezekiel instantly. He grabbed Ezekiel by the back of the neck, threw him backward, and then struck with a palm.

A palm the size of a fan-shaped talisman had taken solid form and slammed hard into the armored man’s chest. With a loud thud, the armored man was sent flying backward, his chest cracking loudly.

Ezekiel had been stabbed dozens of times. Though the wounds didn’t penetrate his body, they were crisscrossed with deep cuts.

Guo Shier also rushed forward almost at the same time Li Ran did. Ezekiel, thrown back by Li Ran, was caught by him. Li Ran quickly returned to the group and shoved a talisman pill into Ezekiel’s mouth. At that moment, Beauty also rushed over, shouting repeatedly, “You… you…” her voice trembling.

Ezekiel said, “Woman, I’m fine!” This time he didn’t add that silly word, because he knew Beauty truly cared about him.

Li Ran suddenly acted, shattering the biological armor on the armored man’s chest with a single palm strike. The force penetrated deep into his body, causing the armored man to spew blood continuously. His weapon flew out of his hand, which Li Ran caught and immediately made disappear, storing the weapon in his internal altar.

The other three armored men became enraged and rushed at Li Ran almost simultaneously.

Qi Wuzhen snorted coldly and appeared in front of one of the armored men in an instant. He raised his hand and struck with a palm. In an instant, a blinding light flashed, forcing everyone to squint. A delicate flame-shaped palm was suddenly thrown, slamming hard into the armored man’s head.

Guo Shier, Zhen Wuji, Ge Ha, and Yao Zebusong also rushed forward. Meili threw Ezekiel at Halechi and shouted, “Take good care of him…” With a howl, she too charged forward.
The gang fight began.
