Chapter 4: Purple Armored Men (Part 1)

Guo Shier was growing impatient while waiting in the talisman room. With his temperament, he naturally wanted to go out and search for something special. Every small world had its own unique products, but since their stay there was extremely short, it was difficult to find good things. So he wouldn’t waste this time.
Although the others didn’t share Guo Shier’s interest, waiting in the talisman room was indeed boring. After a brief discussion, they left Halechi, Ezekiel, and Meili behind, while the rest went out to search.
On the fifth day, Zhen Wuji encountered a strange creature. As soon as they met, the creature attacked him. Only after killing one did he realize how strong it was—three more appeared after that. In shock, he immediately sent a distress signal, but he didn’t want to disturb Li Ran and Qi Wu Zhen, as they were engaged in boundary-breaking rituals and must not be disturbed.
By the time the others arrived, there were already seven or eight of those strange creatures, leaving Zhen Wuji in a dire situation.
Guo Shier and the others rushed in and instantly killed those seven or eight creatures before carefully examining them.
These creatures had a very strange appearance—Guo Shier had never seen them before. They had a human-like shape, large heads covered in a layer of biological armor, a height of about two meters, extremely long legs with joints that were reversed compared to humans, and very long arms that almost touched the ground. Their bodies were covered in dark purple biological armor.
There were several sharp bone spurs at the joints, and both their claws and feet were extremely sharp. From the ends of their arms hung whip-like appendages that, during the battle, moved as if they were alive, capable of attacking opponents.
After killing those humanoid monsters, Zhen Wuji said worriedly, “I wonder how much longer they’ll need for their rituals. This place is a bit strange.”
Ezekiel grabbed one of the humanoid monsters and sniffed it repeatedly, saying, “This thing… doesn’t seem tasty…”
The others were speechless.
Meili dipped her finger in some blood, licked it, and nodded, saying, “Mm, indeed not tasty!”
Halechi’s legs turned weak—this barbaric woman was simply unbearable.
Halechi said, “This world… seems to be dominated by these monsters. They must be intelligent creatures. With purple armor and a human shape… we could call them Purple Armored Men.”
Zhen Wuji said, “What? Relatives? You’re their relative, but we’re not!”

Halechi said helplessly, “Elder brother… I’m talking about the Purple Armored people, not our own folks. Are your ears bad?”
Zhen Wuji kicked him and snapped, “You little brat, it’s your ears that are bad. Never mind, if they’re Purple Armored people, so be it. Anyway, they have nothing to do with us.”
Guo Shier said thoughtfully, “Have you tried to communicate with them?”
Zhen Wuji replied, “There’s no way to communicate. They never give me a chance. They attack as soon as we meet. I almost got hurt. Damn, they’re like a bunch of madmen.”
Guo Shier immediately understood. He sighed and said, “I hope we can leave here soon. They… are completely different from us. I guess peaceful coexistence isn’t possible.” He didn’t want to fight at all, but when pushed to the brink of death, he had no choice but to fight fiercely—it was a matter of life and death.
Zhen Wuji said, “I don’t know how much longer they’ll take to conduct their rituals. We can only wait…”
Suddenly, countless figures emerged from the purple mist—about a hundred Purple Armored people appeared. Soon after, another dozen appeared in the sky. Everyone was stunned. Guo Shier’s pupils constricted as he saw the whip-like objects on the Purple Armored people’s arms trembling slightly, lifting their bodies with swirling forces. The masks on their faces also moved slightly, as if they were alive, looking extremely terrifying.
Zhen Wuji shouted, “Be careful! Get ready to fight!” He had no intention of communicating with them, knowing it was impossible. Ever since leaving the World of Talismans, everyone had realized this was a bloody path that allowed no hesitation or mercy—only survival of the fittest.
Guo Shier said, “I’ll take care of this side!”
Zhen Wuji said, “I’ll block the front!” His sacred weapon flew out.
Ge Ha said, “Let the two of us handle the sides!” He and Yao Zebusong would deal with the flanks.
Halechi said, “I… I’ll take care of the middle!” Everyone was shocked. This guy was too powerful. The middle? It required breaking through the surrounding defenses to reach him. The middle was the safest place.
Aizek said, “I’ll handle the top. Hehe, though they’re not tasty, they’ll do in a pinch!” He and Meili would deal with enemies attacking from the air. In just a few words, the group coordinated seamlessly.

Guo Shier didn’t release the altar; instead, he brought out the Soul Suppressing Cauldron and the Moon Blade. As more and more Purple Armored men emerged from the purple mist, he took a deep breath to calm his irritation. He found himself increasingly reluctant to fight and engage in battles; as he aged, he had grown weary of combat. But at this point, he had no choice but to fight. In this world, he was an outsider, a stranger, someone highly despised. If he refused to fight, it would be him who died.

“Suppress!”

Suddenly, the Soul Suppressing Cauldron emitted rings of colored light, instantly suppressing the Purple Armored men around them. The Moon Blade then flew out, creating a dazzling golden-red arc that killed more than a dozen of the Purple Armored men in front of it in one strike.

Halechi cheered loudly from behind, “Wow… amazing!”

With this move, Guo Shier immediately sensed the power of this world rapidly invading his soul. He shouted, “Be careful! The power of this world is strange…”

Everyone acted simultaneously, instantly killing enemies from all directions. Zhen Wuji was surprised and asked, “Why have they become weaker?”

Guo Shier replied, “Their purple armor is different… so their strength must also differ.”

The Purple Armored men Zhen Wuji had killed at first had purple biological armor, while those that emerged now had light purple armor—there was a noticeable difference. Among the ones killed initially, two of them had sparse natural patterns on their purple armor.

Zhen Wuji examined them carefully and said, “Hmm, there seems to be a difference. If we encounter them again, be careful—there’s a difference in strength. If we’re careless, we’ll suffer heavy losses.”

Ezek and Meili torn apart the Purple Armored men in the sky, leaving no intact corpses. Ezek said, “They are indeed weak. The dozen or so I killed couldn’t withstand even a single attack from me.”

Meili added, “Pathetically weak!”

Zhen Wuji summoned符 fire to burn the corpses on the ground.

Guo Shier said, “Scatter and search for any remaining enemies.” Everyone immediately dispersed to search. After a short while, Goha sent a signal, and everyone rushed over quickly. There were two corpses lying at Goha’s feet. He said, “There’s a path here…”

It was a wide path, not far from a small river.

Guo Shier glanced at it and said, “Uh, this road…” He was quite surprised because the road was built neatly, made up of pieces of purplish-black stones. The stone surface was smooth, clearly well-maintained, with almost no gaps between the stones, as if it were one continuous surface.
“Bad news—this should be a road often used by the Purple Armored people… We…”
Before Guo Shier could finish speaking, dozens of figures appeared on the road. Halechi rushed forward first. He had stayed hidden among the crowd earlier and hadn’t fought, feeling ashamed of himself. This time, he was determined to prove himself. The Sacrificial Treasure flew out and began slashing wildly.
The Purple Armored people’s voices were shrill and rapid, incomprehensible to anyone. There were continuous thuds, along with flashes of purple light. Guo Shier shouted, “Attack together!” He knew those were distress signals sent by the Purple Armored people.
The group immediately charged forward and, in just a few moments, wiped out an entire group of them.
There were also several strange vehicles on the road, along with bizarre creatures that resembled giant spiders—oval bodies with eight long legs, covered in metal chains, pulling long vehicles loaded with goods. Those goods were black, hard masses, and no one could identify what they were.
The spider-like creatures were docile, standing still on the road. Their small heads turned, seemingly observing the crowd curiously.
Rapid noises came from all directions, especially from both ends of the road. Zhen Wuji said, “A large number of Purple Armored people are coming—let’s prepare for battle…”
This time, the group remained calm, each choosing a direction. Halechi no longer hid in the middle; he too chose a direction to guard. Guo Shier held his ground at one end of the road, unleashing the Soul Calming Cauldron and the Moon Blade. In the last battle, the Soul Calming Cauldron had given them an advantage, so he used it first.
As for the altar, no one wanted to release it. The forces of this world could also invade, and since the altar resided within souls, it could help resist such invasions. Once released, its protective power would decline, and after battle, it would need to be expelled using Guo Shier’s soul scriptures—a very troublesome process.
Guo Shier rushed forward about ten steps, seeing vague shadows emerging from the purple mist. These Purple Armored people gave him a strange feeling, as if they were demons from hell. Their bizarre appearances far exceeded his imagination—it was terrifying that humans could take on such forms.

The Soul-Calming Cauldron rotated slowly above his head. Only the size of a fist, it emitted a faint talismanic light that illuminated the surroundings. The Moon Blade vibrated softly, humming like an tireless spirit as it circled around him. Guo Shieru crossed his arms and stared at the approaching men in purple armor.

The biological armor on these men in purple armor still had no patterns, clearly indicating they were relatively weak. When they saw Guo Shieru clearly, they let out a sharp scream and charged at him frantically. This time, they had weapons—slender metal weapons resembling spears.

Guo Shieru shouted, “Go!” He cast a talisman, and the Moon Blade transformed into a arc of light that swept through the air.

One of the men in purple armor screamed as he swung his spear desperately in an attempt to knock down the flying Moon Blade.

Crack!

The sharpness of the Moon Blade was beyond what the man in purple armor could imagine. He watched helplessly as his metal spear broke into two pieces and as the Moon Blade pierced his waist. Even the incredibly tough biological armor in this world couldn’t stop it—his body and the spear were severed almost simultaneously, killing him instantly.
