Chapter 6: Convergence (Part 2)
Delronek said, “I am the commander of this army.” He had no choice—the five strongest fighters in the army were all under Guo Shier’s control. Even though he was skilled, he was only slightly better than those five, so he had to step in.
Guo Shier said, “Very well, I’ll talk to you.”
Delronek asked, “What do you want?” His gaze swept over the five fighters, filling him with extreme anxiety. They were the core strength of this army, and most of its soldiers had been trained by them. If they were killed, the entire army would fall into chaos.
Guo Shier said, “I want peace… If you withdraw your troops, I’ll release these five.” Before, he had no leverage, but now with five hostages, his position was far stronger.
Delronek smiled bitterly. How could he withdraw now? By this point, the forces of the Chiskar Principality had already destroyed most of the enemy troops, leaving only this army. If he retreated now, it would still block the Karabaza Pass, posing a deadly threat to the Ek Principality.
He said, “Retreating is impossible! If you surrender, I can guarantee your safety.”
Guo Shier scratched his ear, thinking he had heard wrong. He said, “We surrender? Did I hear that right? You want us to surrender?”
Delronek nodded firmly. He said, “As long as you surrender, I’ll intercede for your leaders so that the Duke of Ek pardons you. Remember, you’re only a few thousand, while we have tens of thousands. If a battle breaks out, your soldiers won’t stand a chance.”
Guo Shier found it amusing. He said, “Enough. I’m too lazy to argue further. Here’s your last chance—no more nonsense. Withdraw… If not, don’t blame me for being ruthless. I don’t need prisoners!” he said fiercely.
Delronek believed that with tens of thousands of soldiers, his side could overwhelm the enemy at any time, so he was full of confidence. The only thing that worried him were those five castle lords. He said, “Release those five, and we’ll fight fairly!”
Ezek became extremely impatient. He rushed forward and said, “Kid, do you want to die? I have matters to attend to and no time to waste with you. Either leave or die!”
Delong Ek’s face darkened. In the Duchy of Ek, he was the pride of the realm—his strength might not be exceptional, but his status was extremely high. He slowly raised the long spear in his hand, tightened the reins, and his horse stood on its hind legs, letting out a loud neigh. He shouted, “Prepare to attack!” Ignoring the hostages, he ordered his tens of thousands of troops to charge. He wasn’t convinced the enemy could hold back, and since their fortress gates were already destroyed, even if they had two experts, they couldn’t stop the onslaught of the army.
Before Guo Shier could speak, Aizek became furious. “Seeking death!” he said. He walked up to the five castle-level experts who were frozen in place and said, “Heh heh, if your master wants to die, how dare you stay alive?” With a few punches, he killed all five.
Delong Ek couldn’t believe Aizek would actually kill people. He went mad and roared, “Attack!”
Guo Shier sighed. “This world is truly insane. Then let’s kill them.” He was eager to leave and impatient to continue the fight.
Pinata shouted, “Defend!” At this point, he had no choice but to defend, as his forces were too few to attack. He had no confidence in defeating the enemy.
A rain of arrows, like locusts, targeted Guo Shier and Aizek. The two didn’t cover themselves and let the arrows fall. With successive thuds, the arrows filled the ground within a hundred meters around them. When the arrows hit them, they bounced off instantly, unable to penetrate at all.
Guo Shier slowly rose into the air. Delong Ek screamed in shock, “A king-level expert!”
By then, the soldiers had already charged. Guo Shier didn’t summon any altar either. He chanted a series of spells and shouted, “Soul Shock!” The Soul Suppressing Cauldron within him surged violently, emitting an unparalleled soul force. A wave of energy rushed forward rapidly, and in an instant, the soldiers at the front were struck as if by a giant hammer.
As the waves spread, the charging soldiers fell one after another. Soul power was extremely strong in this world. While its martial strength might be decent, it had no resistance to soul power. Perhaps only those at the king-level expert stage could resist to some extent, but these soldiers and even officers couldn’t withstand Soul Shock at all.
Thousands of soldiers fell in an instant. Even Aizek was surprised. He didn’t know anything about Soul Shock—it was a high-level spell ability. He exclaimed in amazement, “So extreme?” Soul Shock was useless to him. After all, he was a humanoid aberrant beast with a soul no worse than Guo Shier’s. Such a level of Soul Shock was like a gentle breeze to him.
Delong Ek could not hold on either and fell to the ground along with his horse. He felt a severe blow to his head, his mind becoming blurred, and everything before his eyes turned into dots that flew around chaotically. In a daze, he muttered, “So many… so many… gold… silver…” Then his head tilted and he lost consciousness.
Waves of soul suppression spread through the forest, accompanied by successive thuds. The soldiers in the forest were also attacked and fell one after another. They were lucky enough to only fall into a coma, but those who rushed toward Guo Shier were far worse—the soul suppression turned them into fools.
Guo Shier slowly descended and said calmly, “Alright, you don’t need to retreat, and we don’t need to surrender either.” He turned around and shouted, “Pinata! Go capture the prisoners! They’re all yours!”
Pinata was overjoyed. He knew he could return to the Principality of Chiska. With so many soldiers from the Principality of Ek captured, any mistakes or losses would be offset.
After all, he still had thousands of men under his command. Even if each person tied five or six prisoners, it wouldn’t take too long. He roared, “Charge! Capture prisoners…” Seeing their enemies fall unconscious, the soldiers, filled with sudden excitement and ecstasy, became frenzied.
Guo Shier said, “Alright, we’re done here. Aizek, let’s head to the Principality of Xiling. Hehe, I wonder if the others have arrived.”
Aizek didn’t want to stay here anymore. Hearing this, he said, “Okay, let’s go!” Without hesitation, he flew into the air, and the two turned into two streams of light, disappearing instantly beyond the horizon.
Yadelan looked at the horizon and finally breathed a sigh of relief. “They’re gone… they’ve left…” She wasn’t sure whether to feel happy or sad.
Eisen said, “Yeah…” He glanced at the soldiers who had rushed forward and whispered, “Let’s get out of here quickly.” He knew that once Pinata realized what was happening, they wouldn’t be able to escape. They were also a significant force, and if Pinata wanted to take them over, it would be difficult for them to leave.
Yadelan also realized this wasn’t a place to stay long. She said, “Let’s go that way.” She led her men through the large camp and ran in the other direction.
What should have taken half a day to a day in flight took Guo Shier and Ezekiel three days, as both of them were terrible at navigating. Along the way, Guo Shier noticed there were indeed numerous small countries and countless castles. The two hardly stopped anywhere; they would occasionally go down to ask for directions, otherwise they just flew around aimlessly.
Guo Shier pointed at a city in the distance and said, “I hope we’re not wrong this time.”
Ezekiel replied, “We’ve been wrong seven or eight times already. I don’t think this time will be right…” This angered Guo Shier so much that he wanted to hit him.
Guo Shier cursed, “Damn it! What else can you do besides complain?”
Ezekiel chuckled and said, “I can also give you advice.”
Guo Shier said, “Forget it. The few suggestions you give… are worse than none at all. We’ve taken so many unnecessary detours. Ugh, I hope this time is right. Let’s go!” Soon, they reached the city’s airspace. With a teleportation, they appeared on the streets. Ezekiel grabbed a passerby and asked, “Hey, is this the Principality of Xiling?”
The man replied, “No… no…” He struggled desperately to free himself from Ezekiel’s grip.
Guo Shier felt a chill in his heart and said, “Damn it… wrong again!”
Ezekiel also said, “Damn it!” He had finally learned that curse word. Being with Guo Shier, he hadn’t learned much else, but he had picked up quite a few curse words. Although he sometimes didn’t understand their meaning, he still liked to use them because they sounded natural.
The man screamed, “Let go of me… let go…”
Ezekiel suddenly released him, and the man fell to the ground before he could react. Guo Shier asked, “Which principality is this?”
The man stared at them blankly for a while before saying, “This… this is the Principality of Xiling!”
Guo Shier couldn’t help cursing, “Damn it!”
Ezekiel also cursed, “Damn it!”
The man got up and ran away. Starting his day early only to encounter two lunatics, he felt extremely unlucky.
“We’re here? We actually made it! Haha!”
Guo Shier became excited immediately. He had been disappointed many times before, and now he had finally found their destination. He shook Ezekiel vigorously and said, “Damn it, we found it!”
Ezekiel was also excited. “Yeah, yeah! Damn it, we’re finally here!”
The people on the street watched the two madmen curiously, not knowing what they were doing, and kept their distance from them.
Guo Shier took out a message token and sent a brief message: “We’re here!” immediately.
The two sat by the street. Guo Shieru patted Ezekiel’s shoulder and said, “I wonder how many of them have arrived…” Before he could finish speaking, someone said, “Just you two are missing.”
Guo Shieru turned to look and saw Zhen Wuji standing not far away.
Ezekiel asked, “Has my wife arrived?”
Zhen Wuji replied, “Hmm, Meili and Halechi arrived first…”
Ezekiel suddenly remembered that his wife was with Halechi and hurriedly asked, “Those two… did they…?”
Zhen Wuji frowned and said, “What do you want to ask?”
Guo Shieru blurted out, “It’s simple. He wants to know if Meili and Halechi have an affair. Uh, that’s not what I meant…” He realized he had been too direct. Unexpectedly, Ezekiel continued, “Yes, that’s exactly what I mean!” He stared at Zhen Wuji eagerly.
Zhen Wuji was stunned. He said, “Huh? Ah!”
