Chapter 6: Golden Fiend Mosquitoes (Part 2)

Guo Shier said, “Alright, let’s go up and return to the Magma Sea first.”
The three of them flew upward.
Soon, they returned to the Magma Sea. Guo Shier said with a wry smile, “We don’t know where the entrance is. It seems we’ll get lost easily. This place… the environment is extremely harsh, much more so than when I was in the Red Golden Mountain Range. Which direction should we go?” He was also a bit confused. The Magma Sea stretched as far as the eye could see, filled with surging heat currents, with no distinct features at all.
Eagle Demon said, “We can only fly around randomly. Just pick a direction and fly.”
Luo Zhan asked, “Then until when will we keep flying?”
Eagle Demon replied, “Do you have a better idea? It’s all magma flows here—there are no paths at all.”
Guo Shier lowered his head and stared at the magma. After a while, he said, “Follow me. The flow of this magma… let’s follow the direction of its flow!”
Eagle Demon and Luo Zhan noticed that although the magma flowed slowly, its overall direction was still discernible. Even with magma waterfalls present, the general trend was clear—though it would be hard to notice if one wasn’t paying attention.
The three flew in the direction of the magma’s flow and soon encountered another magma waterfall. This time, they descended but found no path. After gathering some Fiend Fire, they continued flying forward.
Along the way, they found seven or eight vortices and dozens of cavities. The magma surged, forming clusters of waterfalls, but none of them led to the Golden Flame Well.
They also encountered swarms of Golden Beetles along the way. The three tried to avoid battles as much as possible—avoiding them when possible, and killing them when avoidance wasn’t an option.
A rumbling sound could be heard faintly, growing louder as they flew. Guo Shier and the others were very familiar with this sound—it was the sound of magma falling, meaning there was a huge cluster of waterfalls ahead.
Soon, Guo Shier and the other two stopped. The scene before them left them utterly stunned.
It was a vast magma waterfall that stretched as far as the eye could see. The entire Magma Sea poured downward, forming a waterfall created by an immeasurably long cliff face. It divided the Magma Sea into two, with the lower part being several hundred meters lower. The magma from the upper part crashed down, creating a massive waterfall with no visible ends.
As the magma crashed down, splashes reached heights of over a kilometer, and the deafening roar was overwhelming. Sparks flew everywhere, and the waves of fire stirred by the magma moved around like fire dragons. Above the magma waterfall, there was a winding cloud of Fiend Fire, a terrifyingly red hue.
None of the three spoke; they simply stared in awe at the scene.

After a while, Guo Shier sighed, “It’s truly a masterpiece of nature—stunning and absolutely magnificent.”
Eagle Demon smiled bitterly. “I feel so insignificant… No wonder the professionals from the Zhongjin family dare not enter. If their strength is even slightly weaker, coming here is tantamount to seeking death.”
Guo Shier said, “I doubt even the Golden Beetle would dare to enter here.”
Eagle Demon laughed. “Even if it did, it couldn’t fly. Hehe, it’s indeed spectacular. This is the first time I’ve seen something so awe-inspiring.” He took a deep breath—such a sight wasn’t something ordinary people could witness.
Luo Zhan looked up at the Fiery Evil Clouds in the sky and asked, “Shier, do you want to collect the Fiery Evil here?”
Guo Shier replied, “Forget it. There’s already enough Fiery Evil. More… doesn’t make much sense.” This stream of Fiery Evil Clouds was unbeknownst how long, but its quality wasn’t very good—several levels lower than what he’d seen before. Even if he collected it, it would take a lot of effort to purify it. He had no intention of collecting it; he just wanted to enter the Golden Flame Plain Well as soon as possible. But so far, he hadn’t found the entrance.
Eagle Demon said, “If we can’t find the entrance, we’ll have to turn back. Shier, let’s keep moving.”
Guo Shier nodded. “Okay, let’s speed up. Sigh, I shouldn’t have asked questions clearly back then. Now we’re in trouble.”
After passing through the waterfall clusters, Guo Shier noticed that the magma flowing below was much faster than that above. He said, “I have a feeling we might be approaching the entrance to the Golden Flame Plain Well…”
Luo Zhan remarked, “We’ve gotten used to getting lost. We can get lost even in such a small place. Shier, our ‘Lost Squad’ truly lives up to its name.”
The three of them chatted casually as they flew forward, encountering two more massive waterfalls, just like the ones they’d seen before. The ground dropped layer by layer, and gradually, the terrain became lower and lower. They saw a strange sight: layers of magma waterfalls in the distance formed ring-shaped magma mountains.
As they went deeper, there was more and more Fiery Evil around them. Guo Shier said, “The danger here is no less than that of the Great Abyss Pool. Even professionals from the third or fourth-tier altars would be in huge trouble if they came here.”
Luo Zhan exclaimed, “Look! Is that the entrance?”

The fire ahead formed vast clouds of mist, though relatively thin, allowing a faint view of what lay ahead. It seemed they had reached the edge of the magma sea. An arc-shaped metal wall extended downward, and where it touched the ground, there was a huge crack that stretched endlessly, over a kilometer high, like a gaping maw devouring endless amounts of magma.

Guo Shier was stunned into numbness. After a while, he said, “The terrain here… is truly bizarre. Let’s go in and take a look.” The three of them flew swiftly to the crack. It was unclear where the magma flowed, as such a massive amount poured into the crack yet never seemed to fill it. Without hesitation, they flew inside.

The temperature inside the crack rose sharply. What had once been tolerable became terrifying even for Guo Shier, who soon found himself drenched in sweat.

“This place is like a furnace! It’s too hot!”

Guo Shier unleashed his Umbrella Tower Sacrificial Treasure and the Soul-Stabilizing Cauldron. It took both treasures to block the heat outside. Eagle Demon and Luo Zhan appeared weak, sweating profusely and unable to withstand the heat. Guo Shier said, “Climb onto my altar.” The two immediately rushed to his altar, which made them feel a bit better.

Eagle Demon sighed, “With such terrifying heat, if we go any further, my altar won’t be able to protect us… I think this isn’t the entrance. If even I can’t get in, then not many others can.”

Luo Zhan agreed, “Exactly. We’re professionals with fifth-tier altars. If even we can’t get in, how many others can? I think… Shier’s master probably hasn’t reached the fifth-tier altar level.”

Guo Shier replied, “That’s not necessarily true. My master, Luo Jie… progresses very quickly.”

Eagle Demon laughed, “The old man is different. He inherited the teachings of the Black Symbol People. His progression speed is even beyond Shier’s, unlessKumoku… also inherited those teachings. Otherwise, he should be inferior to Shier.”

Guo Shier continued to delve deeper alone on his altar. The originally high ceiling began to drop, bringing him closer and closer to the magma flow below, shrinking the space available for flight. Eagle Demon said, “I have a bad feeling… Shier, could this really be the entrance to the Golden Flame Well?”

Guo Shier replied, “Who knows? Let’s take a look first. We’ll decide if it’s not right later.” He had nothing else to think about and could only keep going to see where this place would lead.

The deeper he went, the hotter it became. Guo Shier thought the temperature here must be capable of melting steel. Fortunately, the altar had extremely strong defenses. Even so, he had to retract the tentacles of Guxi Bi. Such extreme heat was beyond what a Spirit Beast could withstand—unless it was a fire-type Spirit Beast with a body tempered by fire evil energy; otherwise, it would be reduced to nothingness.

The area was filled with dense amounts of fire evil energy and gold evil energy, and this mixed airflow was also highly lethal. Guo Shier found it difficult, feeling that his spiritual energy was being depleted rapidly. Soon, there was no way forward ahead as magma had surged up against the cave walls, leaving no gap for him to move through.

Guo Shier had no choice but to fly horizontally along the cave walls in search of another path.

Fortunately, not far later, he discovered a huge cavity, about a kilometer long and a hundred meters high. Guo Shier immediately flew inside.

Eagle Demon said, “Luckily, there are no fire-type mutated Symbol Worms causing trouble here; otherwise, this path would be even harder to navigate.”

Gradually, the cave walls began to shrink. Guo Shier said disappointedly, “This might be… a dead end. Damn it, I hate getting lost.” He cursed irritably. Compared to previous times when he got lost, he wasn’t actually lost this time—he just couldn’t find the entrance, which made him anxious.

Luo Zhan said, “Shier, it’s better to retreat. It seems there’s no way forward.”

Guo Shier reluctantly said, “I’ll go in one more step to check. If it doesn’t work, I’ll open a Symbol Gate and return to where we first entered. Maybe we’re going in the wrong direction.”

Eagle Demon and Luo Zhan agreed. Since they had come this far, if there was no real entrance, it meant this path was dead end. Fortunately, though anxious, Guo Shier could still keep his composure. After all, it wasn’t a life-or-death situation. Even if it took a little longer, they would eventually find an entrance.

After turning a few more corners in the cave, the flow of magma below grew faster, and the cave entrance gradually became smaller. Guo Shier said disappointedly, “Still a dead end. Let’s go back.” As he prepared to open a Symbol Gate, faint sounds came from outside. Guo Shier’s heart stirred, and he said, “These sounds… seem like mutated Symbol Beasts? There are very few mutated Symbol Beasts in such places. If there are any… they must be extremely rare fire-type mutated Symbol Beasts. Let’s go out…”

Guo Shier didn’t continue to open the talisman gate. Since he had discovered a rare fire-type mutated talisman beast, he couldn’t leave easily. After all, hunting for such rare mutated talisman beasts also required luck—rare ones could be found anywhere, but especially those with specific attributes were extremely uncommon.

The three of them quickly exited the large crack and returned to the magma sea, where the sound became clearly audible. Guo Shier exclaimed happily, “Elder Shuai, come out quickly! There’s something great!”

Elder Shuai appeared and said, “I heard it. This definitely isn’t the sound of insects. Let’s go take a look!” He was also excited.

Eagle Demon and Luo Zhan flew off Guo Shier’s altar and activated their own altars. Eagle Demon said, “This sound is terrifying. I wonder what kind of mutated talisman beast it is? In my inheritance… I didn’t find any mutated talisman beasts that could live in magma.”

Guo Shier flew toward the sound, curious as well. In an extreme environment like the magma sea, it was almost impossible for mutated talisman beasts to survive, except for certain types of insects.

Suddenly, Guo Shier said, “This sound… I’m very familiar with it…”

Eagle Demon asked, “What is it?”
