Chapter 8: Hatred Filled (Part 2)
Intense snapping sounds filled the air as countless small moon blades sliced at the defense shield. In just over ten seconds, a loud explosion erupted, shattering the entire shield into countless fragments of light that gradually dissipated. At the same time, a tornado formed from those moon blades rushed into the city.
Eagle Demon shouted, “Let’s intercept them and capture as many Grand Masters as possible!” They knew there were no altar-level experts in this city— the strongest ones were the Grand Masters.
The moon blades instantly destroyed large areas of buildings. It was a camp where professionals lived, and countless of them were torn to pieces by the blades.
Guo Shieru rode his altar into the city. He had retracted his moon blades, as their power was too great. He didn’t want to harm ordinary people, so he used Gu Xi Bi’s tentacles instead.
Under the control of the old man Shuai, Gu Xi Bi targeted professionals specifically. Professionals had strong souls, making them easier to identify. Flying low, the tentacles wrapped around countless professionals, who couldn’t resist and had their souls swiftly extracted by Gu Xi Bi. By now, Guo Shieru no longer had any reservations.
Luo Jie and Qi Nanshan didn’t intervene. If they had acted together, no one in the city would have survived. So far, none of them had lost their sanity; they were only avenging themselves on professionals, leaving ordinary people untouched.
Nan You continued to raid the outskirts, while Eagle Demon and Luo Zhan hunted everywhere. This time, they had to make the Gu Mi family suffer so that they would send altar-level experts. Otherwise, with only Guo Shieru and the others, it would be impossible to find the high-ranking members of the Gu Mi family— the world was simply too vast.
Guo Shieru said, “Old man Shuai, let’s only capture professionals above the level of Master.”
The old man Shuai laughed, “Good. The souls ofcrazy Masters are of poor quality. Masters are barely acceptable. Ah, it would be best if they were altar-level experts— one of them is worth a thousand Grand Masters!” The old man Shuai was greedy for souls. Though even a mosquito has some flesh, at his level, he certainly didn’t care for the souls of lower-level professionals.
Someone set fire, and it quickly spread throughout the city. Thick black smoke filled the air, and chaos reigned everywhere, with some people taking the opportunity to loot.
Due to the large number of professionals, Guo Shieru and his group couldn’t kill them all. Many professionals scattered and fled. Some Grand Masters even opened magic gates to escape, so the professionals truly worth chasing had mostly gotten away.
After chasing around for a while, the six of them quickly realized there were no more targets worth pursuing.
The handsome old man reminded Guo Shier with one sentence: “Go to the professionals’ warehouses in the city and steal the materials!”
Guo Shier said, “Damn, in such a big city, who knows where the warehouses are? Ugh, I forgot again!”
The handsome old man asked, “Forgot what?”
Guo Shier replied, “I forgot to capture some prisoners. Ah, this is unbelievable! I’m completely… dumb!”
The handsome old man laughed and said, “You forgot, but I didn’t!” With a flick of his Guxi Bi tentacles, a great sage priest collapsed on the altar. The handsome old man said, “Damn, there are hardly any high-level great sage priests left. I deliberately kept this one. Hehe, half of his soul was taken by the Guxi Bi. Luckily, I noticed in time; otherwise, we’d have lost even this one too.”
Guo Shier was stunned. This guy had actually forgotten to capture prisoners as well. He was just lucky that the Guxi Bi caught one, and before it could devour its soul, it realized it was a great sage priest, so it left one prisoner behind. Otherwise, everything would have been wiped out, with no prisoners captured at all.
The handsome old man said, “Hurry up and ask. The warehouses are crucial!”
Guo Shier slapped the great sage priest in the face. With half of his soul taken, the man was already in a coma. After several more slaps, he finally managed to wake up, dazedly asking, “Where am I?”
Guo Shier replied, “This is heaven.”
The man mumbled, “Heaven… what place is that? Ah, I feel terrible…”
Guo Shier asked, “Where are the warehouses?”
The man said, “Warehouses? What warehouses? I don’t know… What are warehouses?”
Guo Shier was stunned. He said, “Handsome old man, this guy has gone crazy!”
The handsome old man said, “He’s pretending to be stupid. A good beating will make him stop acting stupid.”
Guo Shier obeyed and beat him mercilessly. The man cried out in pain, “Why are you hitting me? I… I didn’t do anything to you. You… you’re bullying me!”
The handsome old man couldn’t help but laugh. Popping his head out, he said, “Really stupid? Damn it, what a coincidence! It took so long to find a high-level great sage priest, only for him to go crazy… You’re just unlucky.”
The man said, “Huh, one head… an old man… so ugly!”
This time, it was Guo Shier who laughed wildly. He said, “What a fool says… is always the truth!”
The handsome old man went crazy and sucked the man’s soul out with one slap. He said, “If you reached my level, there would definitely be no old man as handsome… No, no old man as cool!”
With his soul taken, the man died on the spot.
A tentacle curled up and threw the man’s body off the altar. Guo Shier sighed and said, “Elder Shuai, if that man had known that saying you’re ugly would cost him his life, I bet he would have tried his best to praise you…”
Elder Shuai dismissed him with disdain, “Useless. I would still kill him!”
Guo Shier sighed, “Elder Shuai, you’re really ruthless!”
Elder Shuai asked, “If I don’t kill him, will you?”
Guo Shier nodded, “Yes!” He would never show mercy. Ever since he saw the miserable state of his hometown, he had been filled with anger—why else would he have come here if not to kill?
Elder Shuai said, “Hurry up and find the warehouse!”
Guo Shier looked around for a moment and said, “Let’s go there. It’s a pity we can’t see any professionals anymore; they’re either dead or escaped…”
Nanyou flew over from afar. There was a professional lying on his altar. He said, “Shier, I caught an intermediate Grand Sage Master.”
Guo Shier was overjoyed. Among these people, only Nanyou remained calm. He took the destruction of the Beifu Sect and Chenxiao Sect rather lightly, not as heartbroken as the others. By fighting alongside Guo Shier and the rest, he had also stayed rational, so he remembered Guo Shier’s order to capture a Grand Sage Master-level prisoner.
Eagle Demon and Luo Zhan, on the other hand, had gone mad with fighting and no longer cared about capturing prisoners.
Soon, Guo Shier found out where the professionals’ warehouse was. This warehouse didn’t belong to this city; it was a supply and transit warehouse established by the Gumi family here, filled with materials and goods looted from other continents.
Guo Shier immediately flew toward the northwest corner using the altar, where all the professionals had already fled.
There was a row of low, flat buildings, blessed with many talismans. Guo Shier said, “Nanyou, go call them over. We’ve found their warehouse.”
A moment later, Luo Jie and the others flew over. Eagle Demon and Luo Zhan also returned, brimming with fighting spirit. They didn’t know how many professionals they had killed in this battle. As soon as Eagle Demon landed, he shouted, “Great! Really great! It’s been so long since I’ve fought like this. I hope this will anger the Gumi family and make them send some powerful experts!”
Luo Jie asked, “Is this the warehouse?”
Guo Shier nodded, “This is a transit station, filled with goods plundered from various continents. I doubt there are any particularly good materials in here. Let’s go in and take a look.”
Eagle Demon stepped forward first to push the door open. He turned back and said, “It’s sealed with talismans.”
Guo Shier said, “Blast it open!”
The Eagle Demon stepped back a few steps, then rushed forward abruptly, using its shoulder to charge. With a loud crash, not only did the door collapse, but the walls on both sides also fell down. The Eagle Demon plunged straight through.
Several shouts and screams came from inside. Guo Shier and the others rushed in and saw several corpses lying on the ground. The Eagle Demon cursed, “Damn it, they dared to attack me from behind!”
Guo Shier said, “They didn’t have time to escape… Oh my god, look… how many talisman bags do they have on them!”
On each corpse lying on the ground, countless talisman bags were stacked layer upon layer. The Eagle Demon wondered, “Did they plan to take the entire warehouse away?”
Guo Shier laughed and said, “The loot must be good. Everyone, check it out and take what you need. Give me anything you don’t want!”
Nan You suddenly shouted, “Come and see quickly!”
Guo Shier immediately rushed over.
