Chapter 4: Halechi (Part 2)
Guo Shier said, “Senior, my name is Guo Shier. I’m a Tier 3 Altar professional.”
Eagle Demon said, “Hello, senior. I’m Eagle Demon, a Tier 1 Altar professional.”
Everyone knew the rules, so Luo Zhan stepped forward and said, “Senior, I’m Luo Zhan, a Void Form Altar professional.”
Nan You also said, “Greetings, senior. I’m Nan You, a Void Form Altar professional.”
Wang Keer didn’t like Halechi at all. His peach-blossom eyes annoyed her, so she said indifferently, “Wang Keer, a Tier 4 Altar professional.”
For Halechi, Altar experts below Tier 6 were just kids—there was a huge gap in strength. He said, “Not bad, not bad. You are…” He gestured with his hand, referring to Qi Wu Zhen, and said, “…her followers? Or juniors here to gain experience?”
Guo Shier replied, “We’re the Lost Squad. I’m the leader, and Sister Zhen is a member.” He secretly smiled, waiting to see how Halechi would react.
Qi Wu Zhen’s lips curled slightly as well. She knew Guo Shier was teasing them.
Halechi was stunned. He couldn’t understand what kind of team this was—a squad led by a Tier 3 Altar professional that included a super expert. What was even more confusing was that a Tier 4 Altar professional was just one of its members. Weren’t the strong respected in this world? What was going on?
Upon closer inspection, Halechi noticed that Wang Keer was also a beautiful woman. He rarely saw beauties among Altar-level experts. His peach-blossom eyes kept blinking, and suddenly he said, “Um… can I join?”
Guo Shier almost collapsed. He couldn’t believe it. “You… want to join our Lost Squad?”
Halechi might have looked good, but at that moment, he seemed sleazy. He glanced secretly at Qi Wu Zhen and nodded repeatedly. “Of course. You’re the leader, so I’ll join. I’m just a member, hehe.” He looked at Guo Shier with expectant eyes.
Guo Shier couldn’t help but sigh inwardly. This guy wasn’t interested in joining the squad—he was clearly interested in Qi Wu Zhen. He couldn’t refuse. After all, Halechi was a Tier 8 Altar expert. Though he might not be able to defeat Qi Wu Zhen, defeating him would be no problem.
Halechi asked, “Lost Squad? Why is it called that?”
Guo Shier explained, “Because… we can’t find our way home.”
Halechi was stunned for a while before bursting into laughter. “Haha, hahaha! You’re so talented, haha.”
Guo Shier said helplessly, “What’s so funny about getting lost? Do you really want to join? Are you not regretful? I have conditions; otherwise… I can’t let you join.” With Qi Wu Zhen as his backer, he didn’t have to worry about what he said.
At this moment, Halechi was very obedient. He said, “You’re the captain; it’s your call.”
Guo Shier glanced at Qi Wu Zhen. If she objected, he would have a reason to reject this terrifying member.
To his surprise, Qi Wu Zhen ignored him completely, floating in mid-air, lost in thought.
Guo Shier asked the others, “Do you have any opinions? Do you agree to let him join?”
Eagle Demon had different thoughts. Having a master of the eighth-tier altar in the team didn’t seem bad at all. He said, “I’m in favor.”
Luo Zhan said, “Shier, I’ll follow your decision.”
Nan You hesitated for a moment before saying, “I have no objections.”
Wang Keer said, “I object!”
Guo Shier asked bravely, “Sis Zhen, do you agree?”
Qi Wu Zhen was clearly distracted. She said, “What? Decide for yourself. Don’t ask me.”
Halechi immediately beamed with joy. Excitedly, he said, “Most people agree. Hehe, Captain, just agree already.”
Guo Shier gave a bitter smile and said, “Alright, but after joining, you must follow the team’s unified arrangements. If you’re unwilling, you can leave the team.”
Halechi quickly said, “No problem. I’ll obey orders. Hehe.” Then he whispered, “What’s her name?”
Qi Wu Zhen turned around and said, “Qi Wu Zhen.” Then she added, “Halechi, don’t try any tricks, or I’ll crush you!”
Such fierce words left Halechi stunned again. This woman’s demeanor was extremely different inside and out. Guo Shier burst into laughter, and the others couldn’t help but laugh too. Halechi himself didn’t know why, but even though Qi Wu Zhen scolded him, he felt excited.
Guo Shier sighed and said, “Beauty brings disaster.” This woman was truly a disaster, having bewitched a master of the eighth-tier altar. At this point, no one considered Halechi a master; they all thought he was like a mating puppy, wagging its tail nonstop.
Halechi repeated, “Yes, yes… If I don’t obey, just crush me.”
Guo Shier broke into cold sweat and shook his head, saying, “Alright, Halechi is officially joining the Lost Squad.” In truth, he had no intention of being a captain. With a master joining, as long as he didn’t pose a threat to them, there would be no problem. After all, having a master join brought many advantages. With Qi Wu Zhen, Halechi, and Wang Keer joining, the entire team’s strength increased to a terrifying level.
Halechi cried out, “Captain…”
Guo Shier said, “Just call me by my name. Old Ha, just call me Shier.”
Halechi couldn’t help but smile bitterly inwardly. “Old Ha?” he said. “Okay, Shier. What are you guys doing here? Uh, are you at the Soul Spring?”
Guo Shier nodded. “Yes, we just finished collecting it when you arrived.”
Halechi said, “You shouldn’t be capable of collecting it. Was… Zhen, did you help with it?”
Zhen?
Everyone’s face twisted in annoyance. Qi Wu Zhen snapped coldly, “What did you say?”
Halechi, with his watery peach-blossom eyes, said, “Zhen, I mean… did you help collect the Soul Spring?”
Qi Wu Zhen snapped, “Damn it, Zhen! If you say that again, I’ll strangle you!” She didn’t take this guy seriously at all and started cursing immediately. If Halechi dared to retort, she would hit him.
Halechi had extremely thick skin. He said, “But… if not Zhen, what should I call you?” He deliberately acted foolish, putting on a pitiful look.
Guo Shier sighed. “We’re going to have more trouble from now on. This guy is like sticky candy.”
Wang Keer asked, “What’s sticky candy?”
Qi Wu Zhen shouted, “What should I be called? Grandma!” She indeed had the right to make anyone call her grandma, but it didn’t sound good for such a beautiful woman to be called that. Without thinking, she blurted it out.
Halechi wasn’t a good person either. In a strange tone, he said, “Grand… ma… ma…” The tone was completely wrong, so the meaning was also entirely different.
Bang!
Halechi was flung away. Qi Wu Zhen also realized she had said something inappropriate, so she got annoyed by his strange pronunciation of “grandma” and slapped him, sending him flying.
Guo Shier and the others’ faces turned red. They didn’t dare provoke Qi Wu Zhen either. Halechi’s pronunciation of “grandma” made them hold back laughter so hard it almost hurt them.
Halechi flew back up, complaining, “Hey, you made me call you… and then you hit me.”
Bang!
Halechi was punched again. He screamed but didn’t dare fight back, muttering, “This unreasonable crazy woman… Hey… then what should I call you…”
Just because of what to call her, Halechi was beaten again. Finally, after much struggle, they all decided to call her Sister Zhen, as there was no other way to address her. With Halechi’s strange tone, calling her “grandma” again would surely get him killed by Qi Wu Zhen.
Halechi also came for the Soul Spring. Everyone returned to the valley. Since Qi Wu Zhen had collected some of the Soul Spring, the once-dark liquid had become much lighter.
With Halichi’s skills, it was easy to collect the Soul Springs, and he completed the task quickly.
Guo Shier said, “Sister Zhen, take us back.” He had given Qi Wu Zhen several coordinates, hoping she could find the continent where the four ancient families were located, so he could find his way home.
It was unknown what method Qi Wu Zhen used, but she said, “There is still a chance to go back, though it will require a long detour. Well, I thought it would be easy, but now it seems… it will take some effort. However, you can return here through this route in the future.”
Halichi asked, “Shier, what kind of talisman did you use?”
Guo Shier replied, “I only have one interdimensional talisman and a few ordinary talismans.”
Halichi said, “Since you’re wandering outside, how come you don’t have a good interdimensional talisman? The one you used must be the worst kind.”
Guo Shier said, “I was a low-level professional when I got this interdimensional talisman. At that time, it was a really remarkable thing.” He thought to himself, “I even used this talisman to save my life back then.”
Halichi tossed a talisman to Guo Shier and said, “Try this interdimensional talisman. This is a high-grade one.”
Qi Wu Zhen glanced at it and said, “A grand interdimensional talisman? This is quite rare. It’s very difficult to craft.” She could directly tear open space without needing any interdimensional talisman, so she wasn’t interested in such things.
Guo Shier was overjoyed and said, “Old Ha, thank you so much.” He would never refuse such a gift.
Halichi waved his hand. Having reached the eighth level of the altar, he had many valuable items, so a grand interdimensional talisman wasn’t much of a deal to him. In fact, he could also barely tear open space to travel between continents and secret realms, even entering sealed secret realms—though still far behind Qi Wu Zhen.
After storing the grand interdimensional talisman in the altar, the handsome old man was surprised. He knew that crafting a grand interdimensional talisman was difficult, mainly because one of its materials was extremely rare and he had never found it. Although it was listed on the list for the Guji family, he never obtained it. His original talismans had all been destroyed, and aside from a few sacrificial treasures, he was practically penniless.
The handsome old man didn’t need Guo Shier to worry. He input the coordinates into the grand interdimensional talisman, gradually forming a huge route map. However, this map still lacked many points and couldn’t be connected. The advantage of the grand interdimensional talisman was that it would automatically record the coordinates of any places visited, eliminating the need for the user to worry and preventing them from getting lost.
It’s a bit late to obtain the Great Transmigration Talisman now. To return home, we must figure out the coordinate positions within it; otherwise, it’s useless.
The handsome old man fiddled with it for a long time before finally entering all the coordinates he knew into the Great Transmigration Talisman. He said regretfully, “It’s a pity that several of the most important points are missing, so we still can’t use this talisman… Boy, I really admire you—you’ve obtained so many coordinates, but few of them are useful.”
Guo Shier smiled bitterly. He had advanced too quickly, absorbing a large number of souls. Combined with the refinement through the Soul Scriptures, he wasn’t at risk of going mad. As long as he followed a systematic approach and gathered enough materials, he could strive toward the pinnacle of his profession.
Eagle Demon asked, “Can the Great Transmigration Talisman be used?”
Guo Shier nodded, then shook his head and said, “It can be used, but not yet. We still can’t find our way back. We must follow Sister Zhen; otherwise, we won’t be able to return, unless we’re extremely lucky and find a place similar to a Secret Realm, in which case we might be able to go back.”
Eagle Demon smiled bitterly. “If Sister Zhen can’t find the way either, then we’ll just have to keep wandering.”
Guo Shier said, “That’s right. We got lost from the very beginning.”
Qi Wuzhen said, “Let’s go!”
