Chapter 9: Wang Keer (Part 1)
There were three large and one small, totaling four nest mountains. The largest one reached a height of a thousand meters, while the smaller ones stood at five or six hundred meters. The three smaller nest mountains formed a triangle, with the tallest one in the center. All four mountains were a strange reddish-brown color, standing out sharply against the green forest.
As Wang Keer spotted the nest mountains, Qi Wu Zhen also noticed them. She smiled and said, “Smart little guy. Realizing he couldn’t deal with the Black-Plated Bee swarm, he found us another group of mutated symbol worms. Hehe, pity he doesn’t know these mutated symbol worms are completely useless!”
Guo Shier said, “What kind of mutated symbol worms’ nest is that?” Through the Black-Plated Bee swarm, he could already see the distant nest mountains, their reddish-brown color very prominent. He added, “What huge nests! Not inferior to the Black-Plated Bee nests.”
Qi Wu Zhen replied, “Those are mutated ant nests. They’re far inferior to the Black-Plated Bee nests.”
The Black-Plated Bee swarm was closing in. Wang Keer glanced back and said angrily, “I’ll make you chase after me!” He sharply pointed at the sacrificial treasure hanging on the altar. It was a sword-shaped sacrificial treasure that instantly transformed into a silver light, slashing fiercely at the largest nest mountain. With a loud boom, a gap a hundred meters long appeared in the mountain, causing it to shake.
Wang Keer swung his sword once more and immediately flew upward.
Poking an ant nest was similar to poking a wasp nest. With another boom, countless giant ants crawled out of the nest. Among them were over a hundred thousand mutated flying ants, with the rest being mutated ants crawling on the ground. The mutated flying ants were the guardians of the entire ant nest, and as soon as they emerged, they charged at the Black-Plated Bee swarm.
A few thousand of these mutated flying ants separated to chase after Wang Keer, as he was the culprit.
Wang Keer chuckled lightly and used the altar to teleport away. After two consecutive teleportations, he widened the distance between him and the pursuers. The mutated flying ants chased frantically behind him.
Guo Shier said, “Damn, this guy isn’t any better either.”
Eagle Demon laughed and said, “What’s so surprising about that? If he were good, he wouldn’t rob people.”
Qi Wu Zhen said calmly, “This kind of tactic… won’t work on us. Hehe, it’s fire-type ants! I like it… I’ll be back in a moment.” With that, she teleported away and reappeared among the flying ants in an instant.
A soul pressure surged like a tide, causing the flying ants in the air to fall like raindrops. These were all mutated flying ants at level four or five. Then, Qi Wu Zhen gently pressed her hand, instantly killing tens of thousands of mutated ants while extracting the souls of some of them.
The swarm of black-armored bees crashed into the flock of flying ants, but there were already very few of the flying ants—only about ten thousand—and they were instantly overwhelmed by the bees. Qi Wu Zhen teleported back and appeared above the queen bee, saying, “It’s a pity we don’t have time to fight them.”
Guo Shier asked, “Are these mutated fire ants?”
Qi Wu Zhen nodded. “Yes, but unfortunately, they’re not particularly strong. Just ordinary mutated fire ants—nothing special. Black-armored bees are far stronger than fire ants…”
By then, the swarm of black-armored bees had already passed over Nest Mountain.
Wang Ke was desperate. He realized not only were the mutated flying ants chasing him, but the swarm of black-armored bees behind them also seemed unimpeded, flying straight over Nest Mountain at full speed, continuing to pursue him.
Each of the mutated flying ants was a meter long, with two pairs of translucent wings, and they flew even faster than the black-armored bees. Thousands of these mutated flying ants chased him frantically. Wang Ke used teleportation twice in a row to gain a slight advantage, but within dozens of seconds, they caught up again.
Seemingly knowing that he was the killer, the mutated flying ants pursued him relentlessly. Hundreds more flying ants split into two groups, encircling him from both sides.
Suddenly, thousands of the mutated flying ants emitted balls of flame the size of fists. Thousands of these flames streaked across the sky, aiming at Wang Ke. As they approached, they merged into a single web of fire that covered him entirely.
Frightened, Wang Ke used teleportation repeatedly to barely escape the fire web. He felt exhausted from continuous use of teleportation and could no longer hold on.
After managing to escape another attack by the flying ants, Wang Ke suddenly found himself surrounded—countless black-armored bees had encircled him and the flying ants.
Wang Ke wasn’t afraid of the thousands of mutated flying ants, but he was terrified of the two hundred thousand black-armored bees. It was now impossible to escape; he was tightly trapped by the mutated flying ants. After killing hundreds of them, he despaired as he realized the swarm of black-armored bees had blocked both the sky and the ground, leaving him with no escape. Nearly ten thousand black-armored bees rushed at him.
Wang Ke first torn those thousands of mutated flying ants to pieces before slowly retreating back into the swarm of black-armored bees. It was only then that he seemed to realize what was happening and cried out, “Who… who is it?”
The massive swarm of Black Armored Bees carved a path, and slowly, a giant Black Armored Bee over a hundred meters long flew out. Wang Ke immediately spotted several people on the head of the female bee and knew trouble was brewing. Holding onto a sliver of hope, he asked, “Who are you… why are you chasing me?” He didn’t dare ask, “Why are you trying to kill me?”
Qi Wu Zhen signaled Guo Shier to speak, but Guo Shier instead motioned for the Eagle Demon to take the lead. The Eagle Demon said, “Tsk tsk, a master of the fourth-tier altar. Why don’t you just run away?”
Wang Ke was furious. Aside from being unable to tell Qi Wu Zhen’s professional rank, everyone else could discern it at a glance. How dare someone with only a first-tier solid altar speak like that? It infuriated him to the extreme. He said, “If you’re just herding, why keep chasing me?” He didn’t dare speak rudely—though the Eagle Demon’s strength could be ignored, the massive swarm of Black Armored Bees filled him with dread.
The Eagle Demon said, “We’re not interested in chasing you…”
Before the Eagle Demon could finish, Wang Ke snapped angrily, “Not interested in chasing me? You’ve been chasing me for days! What did I do to offend you?”
Guo Shier replied calmly, “You stole our materials.”
Qi Wu Zhen watched Wang Ke with interest, her gaze making one wonder if she was interested in the man before her—flames seemed to flicker in her eyes.
Wang Ke’s heart pounded. It wasn’t excitement or thrill, but rather the feeling of being hunted by something extremely dangerous. He turned his gaze to Qi Wu Zhen and was horrified to realize that she was the true master here.
“When did I steal your materials? I don’t remember knowing you…”
In truth, Wang Ke already knew he had stolen the materials from the Gu Ji family—they must have belonged to these people—but he still insisted on denying it.
Qi Wu Zhen smiled slightly, suddenly reaching out and grabbing. A giant hand appeared above Wang Ke’s altar. Before he could teleport away, the hand pierced through the altar’s defenses and landed on him.
Wang Ke was terrified. He had never seen anyone able to ignore his altar’s defenses. He thought, “Oh no, it’s over… Who are these people…?”
A faint explosion sound was heard. Wang Ke stood dumbfounded on the altar, still wondering, “Why am I okay?” Then his expression changed drastically.
Not only was Wang Ke shocked, but Guo Shier and the others were also terrified.
Wang Ke’s appearance was that of a very handsome man, dressed in a black robe. When Qi Wu Zhen grabbed him with his virtual talisman hand, a layer of rune disguise was torn off, revealing a charming and alluring woman.
Guo Shier exclaimed, “Damn, it’s like a complete transformation!”
The Eagle Demon was also stunned: “A woman?”
Qi Wu Zhen smiled and said, “Your disguise is useless against me, hehe.”
Nan You asked, “Is it a man or a woman?”
Luo Zhan examined her carefully and said firmly, “I’m sure it’s not an intersex person. As for whether it’s a man or a woman, I’m not sure!” He had heard the term “intersex” from Guo Shier.
Qi Wu Zhen asked curiously, “What is an intersex person?”
Guo Shier explained, “It’s… neither a man nor a woman… well, that’s what an intersex person is.”
Qi Wu Zhen said, “It’s so complicated. This person isn’t an intersex person; she’s a woman. I suspected it from the first glance. Sure enough, she used runes for disguise. Hehe, she’s a pretty little girl.”
A master at the fourth-level altar being called a “pretty little girl” left Guo Shier speechless. Reaching the fourth-level solid-form altar took a long time—she definitely wasn’t a little girl. But compared to Qi Wu Zhen, calling her a little girl wasn’t wrong either.
“Wow, how could you… how could you take away my rune disguise?”
Wang Ke’s appearance changed, and so did her voice—now soft and delicate, giving off a fragile impression. The change was quite significant.
Guo Shier rubbed his chin and shook his head. “If it weren’t for removing the rune disguise, no flaw would have been visible at all. It’s amazing.” The makeup skills from his past life couldn’t compare to this kind of disguise at all.
Qi Wu Zhen smiled and said, “Give back the materials you stole. Don’t try any tricks, or… you’ll find that it’s you who gets hurt. Besides, you won’t be able to use those materials anyway—your skill level is too low.”
Wang Ke, like a cat with its tail stepped on, immediately jumped up. She cried out, “My skill level is low? I… I’m a professional at the fourth-level altar! In any family, I’m considered an elder!”
