Chapter 9: The Secret Valley of Snow (Part 2)
A massive avalanche!
Although there was an altar that allowed for rapid flight, Guo Shier also didn’t want to collide with the avalanche—nature’s power was terrifying. He flew upward desperately, trying to avoid the roaring avalanche.
A tremendous force pressed down as countless tons of ice and snow crashed down. Guo Shier shouted, “Teleport!”
Eagle Demon, Luo Zhan, and Nan You teleported away as well, all flying upward. There was no room to maneuver here—only upward was an option.
Guo Shier teleported a kilometer upward. As the altar reappeared, he cursed, “Damn it, how high is this cliff… Damn!”
He teleported another kilometer upward, still inside the canyon. Horrifyingly, he could already see the white avalanche rushing down with unstoppable force. Shouting loudly, he said, “Damn!” His Moon Blade struck the side cliff, and with a loud explosion, a huge hole appeared in the cliff. He yelled, “Hide inside!”
The others rushed in desperately.
Nan You, still shaken, asked, “Huh? Where did the senior go?”
In the chaos, no one knew where Huo Fen Tian had gone. At that moment, an endless amount of ice and snow fell from above the cliff. With a thunderous roar, it crashed down, carrying countless boulders that smashed into the canyon. Guo Shier and the others stared in shock from the hole created by the Moon Blade.
Eagle Demon said with a bitter smile, “If it weren’t for Shier’s cleverness, we’d all be buried under there.”
In just a few minutes, the falling ice and snow covered the entrance of the hole, plunging the cave into darkness. Guo Shier gently twisted his fingers, and a lighting talisman appeared. He said in horror, “Damn, if we’re knocked into the canyon by the avalanche, wouldn’t it be like being crushed by a mountain?”
Nan You said, “I didn’t expect it to be this severe… It’s terrifying.”
Everyone understood that if a snow mountain collapsed on them, even Guo Shier wouldn’t survive—half of him would be lost. As for the rest of them, they’d be in even greater danger, likely to be buried alive. There was almost no chance of escaping unless Huo Fen Tian intervened.
Guo Shier suddenly remembered and said, “The senior once said… be careful. Sigh, we were all careless.”
Eagle Demon said with a bitter smile, “She did it on purpose.”
Nan You said, “There’s no need for that. With her strength, she could kill us effortlessly—just a slap would be enough…”
Guo Shier shook his head with a bitter smile and said, “She… just likes to have fun…”
Everyone shuddered.
“Hehe, the kid’s not bad. Fun, right? Hehe!”
Huofen Tian emerged from behind the group, looking delighted. The others were speechless—this kind of behavior could be deadly.
Guo Shier smiled bitterly and said, “But we’re trapped inside.”
Huofen Tian chuckled, “That’s impossible.”
The others thought to themselves that with her strength, nothing in reality could truly trap her. With her power surpassing that of the ninth-tier altar, even a sealed secret realm couldn’t hold her back—she could tear it apart outright. Such unimaginably high strength was beyond Guo Shier and the others’ comprehension.
The rumbling sound gradually subsided.
Guo Shier said, “We can go out now.” A moon blade circled above his head as he planned to use it to create a passage.
Huofen Tian grinned, “Let me do it instead. It’ll be fun—you can watch.”
Everyone stopped in their tracks. With Huofen Tian handling it, they wouldn’t have to expend their soul energy to clear a path, saving themselves the trouble while still getting to see how this freak broke through the snow.
A spark flew from Huofen Tian’s fingertips and plunged into the snow outside the cave entrance, after which she withdrew her hand. She said, “That’s enough. Hehe, everyone’s waiting to watch—it’s really fun.” At that moment, she resembled a child.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh…
The sound of flowing water came. Guo Shier stared at the cave entrance and clearly saw the ice and snow blocking it melting rapidly. A few minutes later, a beam of light shone in from outside, causing the snow to sink. He flew out of the cave and witnessed a stunning scene.
Vast amounts of ice and snow melted quickly, forming a surging flood that rushed toward one side of the canyon. It was unclear how Huofen Tian had done it, but the flood of melted snow flowed in one direction—toward the other end of the secret realm they intended to go to. As time passed, the flood grew larger and more violent, rushing forward into the canyon.
A thick mist rose, and the flood was actually warm.
The power of the Fire Sacrifice Grandmaster was truly terrifying, and it was obvious that Huofen Tian was just playing around. Even so, Guo Shier and the others couldn’t imagine what she was up to. Huofen Tian said, “Follow me!” She flew above the floodwaters. The surging flood roared loudly, triggering another massive avalanche.
Since Huofen Tian was moving with the flood, by the time the avalanche fell, they had already passed through. The snow that followed melted, creating an even larger flood.
Guo Shier wondered in his heart: What is this woman trying to do?
The narrow gorge suddenly widened, and the flood rushed out of the canyon, instantly filling the vast chasm. Guo Shieru flew just ahead of the flood surge. Looking back, he saw that the flood, constrained by the canyon, had reached a height of a thousand meters, forming a wall of water that pressed forward at great speed—a truly terrifying sight.
Huo Fen Tian giggled merrily and asked happily, “Little guys, is it fun?”
Who would dare say it wasn’t fun?
Amidst the chaotic sounds of amusement from Guo Shieru and the others, Huo Fen Tian struck again, firing a series of sparks to either side. Then she shrieked, “Run fast… haha… the flood is coming…”
It was unclear how Huo Fen Tian did it, but instead of ice and snow, water torrents poured down from both sides of the canyon, crashing into the flood below and causing the water level to rise even further, exceeding two thousand meters. Everything in the canyon was swept away by the flood as it rushed forward.
The noise grew louder and louder. Guo Shieru and the others were not only terrified but also drenched in sweat as they fled desperately, with the raging flood behind them. Guo Shieru inwardly groaned in frustration; he had no idea what Huo Fen Tian intended to do, his mind in complete chaos.
Huo Fen Tian let out a clear laugh, like a little girl playing with a new toy with great enthusiasm.
Eagle Demon pointed ahead and exclaimed, “Damn!”
Luo Zhan shouted, “The exit!”
Nan You said, “It’s the Guji family’s camp…”
Guo Shieru looked ahead and finally understood what Huo Fen Tian wanted to do—she planned to use the flood to destroy the Guji family’s camp outright. He couldn’t help but sigh bitterly. This woman was truly ruthless; in just a joke, everything was destroyed. He couldn’t resist shouting, “The flood is coming… run fast!”
Like thunder, chaos erupted in the Guji family’s camp. Huo Fen Tian didn’t stop them but simply laughed as she charged forward.
The Guji family’s camp raised three layers of defenses in an attempt to block the flood.
The flood, reaching two thousand meters high, possessed unimaginable force. Tsunamis in his past life were only dozens of meters high, and even a ten-meter-high tsunami could destroy anything in its path. Let alone this flood, which was like a mountain collapsing down.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The three layers of defenses collapsed in less than ten seconds. The flood rushed into the camp and headed toward the exit to the secret realm.
Huo Fen Tian waved her hand, and Guo Shieru and the others were swept straight into the Frozen Continent.
The entrance between the Snow Valley Secret Realm and the Frozen Continent was over 200 meters wide and over 50 meters high. When Guo Shier and the others were led out of the secret realm, they looked back and saw that the entrance resembled a floodgate—water gushed out in massive columns, reaching heights of over a thousand meters. Such immense water pressure was truly awe-inspiring.
Guo Shier couldn’t help but exclaim, “I… damn it… what the hell is this…?”
Huo Fen Tian smiled and said, “Isn’t it beautiful?”
With their strong physiques as professionals, most of them—except for a few with weaker abilities—could survive. The water was filled with people, like water poured into an ant nest, causing everyone to float. They were overwhelmed by the flood and struggled desperately in the water.
Guo Shier said with a bitter smile, “Let’s go!”
Seven or eight professionals flew into the air and immediately activated their altars. Guo Shier couldn’t help but sigh bitterly—the leader was a master with a sixth-tier altar, and behind him were two more masters with solid-altar skills, at third and fourth tiers respectively; the rest were masters with virtual altars.
The master from the Guji family with the sixth-tier altar was clearly in a frenzied state. With a wave of his hand, a thunderous blade light appeared, shimmering with countless runes, along with a wave of extreme cold.
Guo Shier shouted, “Damn it, dodge!” They quickly moved behind Huo Fen Tian. They couldn’t withstand the master with the sixth-tier altar—anyone who tried would die, especially since he was fighting with utter determination.
Huo Fen Tian was clapping and laughing, enjoying watching the people struggling below. When the blade of the master with the sixth-tier altar came swinging, she immediately grew angry and shouted, “Looking for death!”
Guo Shier said, “It’s over…”
The altar of that master suddenly caught fire, turning into a flaming altar. The man jumped around on it, his body also engulfed in flames. Then, his life treasure, which he had swung at them, was grabbed by Huo Fen Tian and crushed to pieces. The other altar masters who rushed forward were terrified and quickly flew back.
Huo Fen Tian sneered, “Daring to attack me? Die! Fire Sacrifice!”
With a loud explosion, the man and his altar burst apart, turning into countless sparks that scattered everywhere. With another wave of her hand, those sparks formed a stream of fire that circled in the air before splitting into two streams, heading toward the two professionals with solid altars.
Guo Shier was well aware of the power of Fire Sacrifice. Back then, Huo Fen Tian had used Fire Sacrifice to destroy hundreds of thousands of soldiers from the Gujin and Gunan families. These few people in front of her were no match for her at all—they were truly seeking death.
Two streams of fire formed by merging Mars instantly submerged the remaining two practitioners of the Solid Altar class. Cries of agony filled the air, and within just a few seconds, the two turned into countless sparks, leaving not even an altar behind. Huo Fen Tian reached out with her hand, and those sparks suddenly condensed into a cluster before being compressed into a fire ball in an instant.
The soul of the handsome old man trembled slightly: “Hmm, that’s really good stuff… Such fine material… What a shame, what a shame…”
Guo Shier’s soul also fluctuated slightly: “What do you mean?”
The handsome old man replied, “It’s great for nourishing the soul… Truly excellent… Too bad we can’t get it.”
The fire ball fell into Huo Fen Tian’s palm. With a gentle squeeze, it disappeared. She said, “Why are there so few practitioners of the Solid Altar class? Really!”
Guo Shier said, “Let’s go. This place is too chaotic.” He had to suggest leaving immediately. If more reckless people appeared and angered Huo Fen Tian, he was sure even those practitioners struggling in the floodwaters wouldn’t survive.
Huo Fen Tian said, a bit disappointed, “It’s really boring. Alright, let’s go.”
As soon as they left, countless people sent signal tokens. Some even sent out the shadow images of the battle. It was astonishing— the most famous ancestor in the family had been burned to death, almost instantly. After all, he was a master at the sixth-tier altar. Even though the family had many skilled individuals, practitioners at the sixth-tier altar were among the top in the family. The Guji family suffered heavy losses this time.
The Frozen Continent was truly a world of ice and snow. At first glance, it was covered in white expanse. The continent was perpetually covered in ice and snow, with only certain areas warming up every about three years. This wasn’t due to climate change but rather geothermal activity from volcanoes underground, which generated heat to melt the ice and allow plants to grow.
The snow here could reach tens of thousands of meters thick, forming massive ice layers. The mutated beast creatures here were also fierce, including the famous mutated snow apes, mutated snow wolves, and snow sculptures.
Many mountains were buried under the snow. If one traveled across the Frozen Continent without the ability to fly, they might be buried in snow pits. There were countless naturally formed traps on the surface, such as ice cracks and snow pits. The snow pits on the Frozen Continent often reached a depth of a thousand meters, with a few even reaching tens of thousands of meters. If one fell in without the ability to fly, survival chances were virtually none.
Similarly, the Frozen Continent was also a rich source of ice-related materials, making it a treasure trove coveted by many practitioners.
Guo Shier and his group were not flying in the sky but running along the snowy ground. Huo Fen Tian crossed her arms and followed behind; she wasn’t flying or running either—she kept teleporting. After Guo Shier and the others ran for a while, her figure flickered slightly before appearing in front of them, then she waited leisurely.
“There!”
Guo Shier and his group weren’t playing around—they were searching for useful items. Although flying in the sky was fast, many treasures might be missed.
Then the Eagle Demon laughed and said, “Good stuff!”
