Chapter 8: The Mysterious Realm of Hun Tian (Part 2)
Xian Ming said proudly, “Yes.”
Guo Shier asked in confusion, “If it were on the Feng Continent, your reception duties would be quite heavy. Can you leave Dong City at will?”
Xian Liang showed a resentful expression and said, “It has nothing to do with us. When the mysterious realm opens, the family won’t inform us.”
Eagle Demon couldn’t help but laugh and said, “I see. You must feel neglected in your family!”
Both of them blushed slightly. Although they had reached the rank of Junior Great Sage Master and held some status in their family, they were marginalized. Given their age and potential, reaching this rank was already the limit for them; it was difficult to progress further. As a result, the family stopped allocating resources to them. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have had to seek help from outsiders.
Guo Shier and Eagle Demon discussed quietly for a while before saying, “Alright, we agree. But how to infiltrate depends on you. I guess the entrance to the mysterious realm is heavily guarded. Even with the strength of a Senior Great Sage Master, it would be hard to get close.”
Xian Ming and Xian Liang both smiled. Xian Ming said, “We’re already prepared. You three just need to follow us. We’ve made arrangements, and we can set off in a while.”
Guo Shier asked, “What would you do if you hadn’t met us?”
Xian Liang explained, “We originally planned to ask other friends to carry us, but the cost was too high… Well, they’re also friends, hehe, hehe…” He suddenly realized he had said the wrong thing.
Guo Shier didn’t mind. As long as they could enter the Extreme Mysterious Realm, there was no need to dwell on this issue. He nodded and said, “Alright, get ready. Once the time comes, we’ll infiltrate.”
Xian Ming and Xian Liang laughed happily. Together, they bowed and said, “Thank you, my lords.” Then they left.
Guo Shier sat down and said, “Uncle Eagle Demon, Uncle Luo, let’s get ready too. Anyway, the Extreme Mysterious Realm is an irresistible temptation for us.”
Eagle Demon laughed and said, “Since we can’t find our way back for now, let’s go to the Extreme Mysterious Realm and have some fun. Hehe… Maybe… I’ll also get the chance to build a virtual altar. Although I’ve gathered all the necessary materials, I still don’t know how. It’s a shame I don’t have time to learn the inherited knowledge.”
Luo Zhan said, “Eagle, I hope you succeed. By the time I reach the rank of Senior Great Sage Master, someone will be able to teach me.”
Eagle Demon sighed and said, “I’ve advanced to Senior Grand Sage, and now I can access the knowledge needed to construct a virtual altar. Alas, it’s precisely because I’ve seen the inheritance that it seems so difficult… I don’t know when I’ll succeed. Guo Shier has that handsome old man—what luck…”
With a handsome old man and an Ancient Ink Lotus, Guo Shier was spared most of the troubles faced by advanced professionals. Thanks to the handsome old man’s strength, Guo Shier didn’t have to worry too much about constructing the virtual altar. As long as he gathered the necessary materials and let the handsome old man handle the refinement, building a virtual altar wasn’t difficult at all.
Once a professional successfully constructed a virtual altar, they would enter the ranks of top professionals. At that point, they could freely travel across various continents and secret realms. Unless they clashed with others who also had altars or encountered extreme situations, like entering the Thunder Pool, it was generally hard to face life-threatening dangers.
Guo Shier said with a smile, “I’m confident. If we help each other, we should all be able to advance to the virtual altar level.”
Eagle Demon said, “It would be great if we could all advance to the virtual altar level before returning home.”
Luo Zhan shook his head with a bitter smile and said, “Guo Shier has a good chance, and Eagle Demon has some hope too. As for me, it’s almost impossible. I can barely hope to advance to Junior Grand Sage. Heh, it’s already beyond my expectations. I’m not greedy. If I can advance to Senior Grand Sage during my lifetime, I’ll be very satisfied.”
Guo Shier said, “Uncle Luo, don’t give up.” In the Wild Battle Secret Realm, Luo Zhan’s foundation was too weak. Otherwise, with soul infusion, advancing to Senior Grand Sage wouldn’t be a problem at all. With his soul scriptures to regulate things, there would be no danger at all. It was a pity that Luo Zhan missed this opportunity.
…
Two months later, led by Xian Ming and Xian Liang, Guo Shier, Eagle Demon, and Luo Zhan flew northward toward the Feng Continent.
The Hun Tian Secret Realm was located in the northern part of the Feng Continent, deep within the mountains. Without Xian Ming and Xian Liang guiding them, Guo Shier and the others would never have been able to find it.
Xian Ming and Xian Liang were dressed as two middle-aged strong men. Guo Shier was amazed at how they managed it—transforming from two old men into middle-aged strong men without revealing any clues. It was truly miraculous.
Xian Liang said, “My lord, leave everything to us. The destination is right ahead. There will be obstacles, but you don’t need to say anything. We’ll handle it.” He spoke with confidence.
Guo Shier nodded and said, “Leave everything to you. How much longer until we start?”
Xianliang said, “There are still two days left. We need to enter at the perfect time. If things get complicated, it’ll be troublesome.” More and more figures appeared in the sky, with streaks of colored light cutting through the air—all were advanced professionals heading toward the Hun Tian Secret Realm. As they ventured deeper into the mountains, Guo Shier saw at least several hundred Great Saints, and even many talisman sects opening, from which many professionals emerged. No one greeted each other, nor did anyone speak; everyone flew in the same direction. Eagle Demon couldn’t help but say, “Damn, it feels so oppressive… Xianliang!” Xianliang replied promptly, “My lord, what is it?” Eagle Demon asked, “Will there be fighting? I have a bad feeling about this…” Xianliang said, “There won’t be fighting now. Only when the secret realm opens, if things aren’t coordinated properly, might there be battles. But with your strength, there’s no need to worry.” He offered a small flattery. Guo Shier said, “Regardless of whether there’s conflict or not, let’s stay low-key and avoid trouble.” His goal was to enter the Hun Tian Secret Realm, not to fight with others. Xianliang nodded, “Yes, we’ll be careful. My lord, we’ll mix in with them…” He pointed at the traces left by those flying in the distance. Guo Shier nodded, “Let’s speed up!” It was a group of about eighty people, all Great Saints. Guo Shier and the others quickly caught up, flying a few hundred meters behind them. From afar, they looked like just one group. As they approached their destination, more and more Great Saints appeared. Guo Shier roughly estimated that there were no fewer than a thousand Great Saints. He couldn’t help but ask, “How many will come?” Xianliang said, “At its peak, there might be twenty thousand Great Saints. Even at the lowest, there are still ten thousand.” Guo Shier was stunned, “What?” Eagle Demon and Luo Zhan were also shocked. Seriously, ten thousand Great Saints, many of them from sects and families, all grouped together. There were only five of them, with only two being advanced Great Saints. How were they supposed to enter the Hun Tian Secret Realm? Xianliang and Xianliang felt a bit awkward. Xianliang said, “There are indeed many, but… that doesn’t mean we have no chance.” Guo Shier said, “It’s not just a few more… The total number of spots is less than two thousand. Even if each person can bring three, the number of entrants won’t exceed eight thousand. With ten thousand Great Saints, that means… at least two thousand more can’t get in.”
Eagle Demon said, “I’m afraid it’s not that simple. If five thousand high-level Great Saints came, more than half of them wouldn’t be able to enter! Intermediate and lower-level Great Saints would have a better chance instead.”
Xian Ming said, “My lord, there won’t be that many high-level Great Saints… The vast majority gathered here are intermediate and lower-level ones; high-level ones are very rare.”
Guo Shier and Eagle Demon Luo Zhan also put on some makeup, as they were afraid of encountering people from the Gu Miluo family.
Soon, the five of them arrived at their destination, which was a canyon. Xian Ming whispered, “The entrance to the secret realm is in the air right in the center of the canyon. Well, it opens downward, so… as long as you fall in, you can enter the secret realm.”
Guo Shier said, “Huh, I’ve never heard of such an entrance before. Is there any explanation for this?”
Xian Ming replied, “No. The entrance to the Hun Tian Secret Realm has always been like this. It’s a very rare type of entrance.”
The Great Saints were all gathered on both sides of the canyon, and no one dared to fly above it. Luo Zhan asked, “Why not fly above the canyon and rush into the secret realm from there? It’s the best position.”
Xian Ming explained, “We can’t go up there. If we fly above, we’ll be attacked.” Before he could finish speaking, they saw several people fly above the canyon. Luo Zhan pointed at them and said, “They… uh… are altar masters.”
Those people flew above the canyon, each summoning their own altar and sitting cross-legged on it, coldly watching below.
Eagle Demon asked, “Weren’t altar masters said to be unable to enter the secret realm?”
Xian Ming replied, “They’re not trying to enter the realm themselves; they’re there to protect their disciples so they can enter smoothly. Only after their disciples have entered will it be the turn of people from smaller families and sects to enter. By then… it gets chaotic.”
Xian Liang nodded and said, “Right. That’s when our chance comes.”
Then a few more altar masters flew over and sat directly on their altars—this was a form of intimidation. Guo Shier suddenly turned his head and whispered, “Uncle Eagle Demon, Uncle Luo, don’t look! There are acquaintances!”
“Ban Xi Long! The Gu Xi Long family!”
Eagle Demon’s pupils shrank to pinpricks. He quickly turned around and whispered, “Lao Luo, don’t look.”
Ban Xi Long, along with over a hundred Great Saints, flew arrogantly into the canyon’s airspace. He nodded at the altar masters who had arrived first, then hovered in the air with his group of Great Saints, waiting.
Xian Ming exclaimed in amazement, “Good heavens! People from the Gu family have come!”
Guo Shier asked softly, “Did people from the Gu family never come before?”
Xian Liang whispered, “It’s rare to see them come. They’re very domineering!”
The surroundings were filled with noise, all chatter. Guo Shier listened carefully and realized that the arrival of the Gu family had caused great unease among the other great sage masters.
Then there was a slight commotion.
“Good heavens, look! That’s the Gu Zhenren family!”
“Wow, people from the Gu Miluo family have come too. Damn it, why have all these people from the Gu family shown up?”
“The Gu Dai family!”
A large group of women flew over, all of them great sage masters, led by some expert altar practitioners, though Guo Shier and the others had never seen them before.
Eagle Demon said, “I feel something’s off… Is there some change?”
