Chapter 1: Moving House (Part 1)
The person who came was the granddaughter of the master who gave Guo Shier twelve a lot of trouble—Miss Luo Weijie. For some reason, whenever she saw Guo Shier twelve, she couldn’t help but want to tease him, but she never succeeded, which made her even more determined. She wouldn’t let go the moment she saw him, leaving Guo Shier twelve utterly helpless.
“I don’t know you!” Guo Shier twelve declared promptly, looking annoyed.
Luo Weijie smiled and stepped closer, ignoring whatever Guo Shier twelve said. When it came to eloquence, two Luo Weijies couldn’t match one Guo Shier twelve, but when it came to physical strength, two Guo Shier twelves still couldn’t compare to one Luo Weijie. After all, he was just a nine-year-old child, nowhere near a grown-up in their twenties, even if she was a woman.
“A gentleman uses words, not fists!”
Luo Weijie said with a playful smile, “I’m not a gentleman—I’m a woman! Go on… keep talking!”
“A true man doesn’t fight women!”
New phrases kept popping up, making Luo Jie laugh heartily. He sighed, “Ah, it’s a shame Shier twelve is too young. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be bad to have Xiao Jie marry him.”
Guo Shier twelve felt his scalp tingle. For the first time, he stopped complaining about his young age. If he really had to marry such a crazy woman, it wouldn’t be a tragedy—it would be a disaster.
Poor Guo Shier twelve had thin arms and legs and couldn’t run fast. Since Luo Weijie wasn’t an enemy and Luo Zhan and his master couldn’t come to protect him, after just a few steps, he was grabbed by Luo Weijie. She hugged him tightly and twisted his little face hard with one hand, making Guo Shier twelve scream in anger.
Luo Weijie said happily, “Run away! Let’s see how far you can go. Hehe.”
Guo Shier twelve smiled bitterly inwardly, “Damn it! I’m being harassed!” Of course, he knew Luo Weijie had no ill intentions—she just simply liked children. But with his childlike appearance and an adult soul from a past life, how could he tolerate a little girl’s teasing?
Smack!
Luo Weijie gave Guo Shier twelve a fierce kiss on his cheek and laughed happily, “You little rascal, even blushing! Haha!”
Furious inside, Guo Shier twelve suddenly showed a strange smile and said, “I’m going all in!”
Smack!
Guo Shier twelve unexpectedly kissed Luo Weijie on the lips. Looking at her stunned expression, he said proudly, “If we’re kissing, so be it! Who’s afraid of whom? I’m a pervert! Am I afraid of you, a little girl?”
Luo Weijie was stunned, and Luo Jie was also stunned—not because Guo Shier kissed her, but because what the child said was simply too shocking. After a long while, Luo Jie burst into loud laughter, gasping for breath as he pointed at Guo Shier and said, “You little brat, haha, hahaha! You’ve got spirit! I like that! Haha! Haha! Xiao Jie, now you’re in trouble, right?”
Unfortunately, no matter how harmful the words, when spoken by a nine-year-old child, it’s not rude—it’s endearing. Luo Weijie was stunned for a moment before she couldn’t help but laugh too. She said, “Even little kids know how to take advantage, hehe.” She hugged the kid even tighter.
Guo Shier sighed inwardly—this trick didn’t work either? He knew he couldn’t beg for mercy or say, “Put me down,” as that would only make Luo Weijie more pleased. She was just playing around with the child, and at this point, he could only accept his fate.
“Call me ‘sister’ and let me hear it!”
Now it was Luo Weijie’s turn to be triumphant.
“My head may be cut off, my blood may flow! A true man must not lose his dignity! I won’t call you!”
Luo Weijie giggled happily, overjoyed. Just as she was about to say something, Guo Shier scratched her under the armpit, making her burst into laughter so hard her limbs went weak. Seizing the opportunity, Guo Shier slipped down and ran away. Being held by that crazy girl was too disadvantageous; he had to run no matter what.
“Master, I’m going back first! You wait and see, girl! I’ll make you pay!”
Luo Weijie shouted petulantly, “Stop! You little scoundrel!”
Luo Jie laughed and said, “Xiao Jie, if Shier were a bit older, you wouldn’t be able to get away with this, haha. You should know that the kid has already advanced to a Spellcaster.”
“Huh? Impossible! I haven’t even reached the level of a Spellcaster, so how could Shier?”
Luo Jie grew serious and said, “You only know how to play all day, while Shier studies hard every day!”
Hearing her grandfather start lecturing her, Luo Weijie immediately said, “Okay, okay! I’ll study hard!” Then she ran off, disappearing in an instant.
Luo Jie smiled bitterly in resignation. This little girl had good potential. Although not as good as Guo Shier’s, it was still top-notch. But no matter how good the potential, without hard practice, it was no better than an apprentice with ordinary potential. He knew it was his fault—with him, a great Spellcaster, the girl had no pressure at all, so how could she progress quickly?
Guo Shier only calmed down after getting into the carriage. He couldn’t help but smile—this crazy woman was quite amusing sometimes. In his past life, he had a rather masculine personality, which was why he couldn’t tolerate Luo Weijie’s harassment. Looking at his own small arms and legs, he sighed. Although a childlike appearance could give some advantages, it was still inconvenient after all.
That night, Guo Shier called Huo Bao and the other three, along with Luo Zhan and a few of his subordinates, and said, “Tomorrow, we’ll all go to the Spellcraft Hall together.”
Huo Bao asked, “Shier, what’s the purpose of going to the Spellcraft Hall?”
Guo Shier smiled and said, “To get an advancement certification. Hehe, I’m going to advance to a Spellcraft Master.”
Luo Zhan had followed Guo Shier to Luo Jie’s house during the day, but he hadn’t gone inside and didn’t know that Guo Shier had already reached an advanced level. He said in disbelief, “Shier, you… you’re going to become a Spellcraft Master?”
Guo Shier smiled and said, “My master said I’ve advanced. I’ll go to the Spellcraft Hall tomorrow to get certified, hehe.” He was very happy inside—becoming a Spellcraft Master would allow him to learn more and gain more freedom.
Luo Zhan shook his head with a bitter smile. A nine-year-old Spellcraft Master sounded incredible; this kid was truly extraordinary.
“Congratulations, Shier.”
Huo Bao and the others fell silent. Although they were happy too, they were more worried. Guo Shier asked curiously, “What’s wrong with you guys?”
Chen Bing sighed and said, “Shier, you’ve advanced so quickly. What are we supposed to do?”
Huo Bao nodded repeatedly. “Yeah, what are we supposed to do? We don’t even know when we’ll be able to advance. The gap between us and you will keep widening…”
Guo Shier laughed. He punched Huo Bao and said, “Why worry? We’re still young and have plenty of time to grow. Although I’ve advanced, I don’t plan to go out and gain experience yet. But everyone should work hard to advance to Spell Warriors as soon as possible.”
Huo Bao and the others relaxed. They understood Guo Shier’s words. Chen Bing said, “We’ll try our best!”
…
The next morning, Guo Shier got up early. He still slept for four hours every day, using the rest of the time for cultivation, spellcraft, or reading. He spent four hours each night reciting scriptures to strengthen his soul. Thanks to his high-quality sleep, he always felt energetic every morning after getting up.
In the courtyard, Guo Shier did some light exercises, stretched his back, and practiced a set of boxing moves. This was a habit from his past life. He didn’t even know the name of this boxing style; it was taught to him by an old soldier in his past life. It was mainly used for physical exercise and wasn’t particularly advanced.
Huo Bao and the other three got up earlier. They had finished exercising, gone inside to wash up, and saw Guo Shier practicing boxing, so they curiously gathered around. Luo Zhan, along with three Symbol Warriors, also returned from exercising and stood aside watching.
Huo Bao asked in surprise, “Shier, what kind of Symbol Martial Art is this?”
Guo Shier was momentarily stunned before realizing and smiled, “It’s not really any martial art. I’m just stretching a bit.”
Unlike Huo Bao, Luo Zhan was an experienced Symbol Martial Artist, a master who had been in countless battles. He could instantly see the killing intent in Guo Shier’s boxing style—it was definitely a kind of Symbol Martial Art. Yet he had never seen such an unusual one; some of its movements were worth deep reflection.
Guo Shier had no idea what they were thinking. He simply practiced boxing habitually to relax. After about twenty minutes, he stopped. Aunt Lan came out carrying a copper basin and said, “Shier, go wash your face and then have breakfast. Stop standing around—go inside and eat!”
Aunt Lan had already established authority within this small group. As the head housekeeper, she served Guo Shier wholeheartedly, so everyone respected her. Even Luo Zhan treated her with great respect. Hearing this, they all smiled and went inside to eat.
Everyone enjoyed the breakfast. After eating, Luo Zhan urged them to get ready for the carriage so they could accompany Guo Shier to the Spell Hall.
Upon arriving at the Spell Hall, they waited for a while until Luo Jie showed up.
The person in charge of the Spell Hall was Chang Yeren. Hearing that the great Spell Master Luo Jie was coming, he didn’t dare to be negligent and arrived early to wait. In the Northern Spell Sect, the three great Spell Masters were extraordinary figures—true forces of deterrence. Even though he was on the verge of becoming one himself, he didn’t dare to show any disrespect.
When Chang Yeren entered the hall of the Spell Hall, he saw Guo Shier and the others. He asked in surprise, “Shier, why are you here?” Suddenly realizing what he was doing, he asked, “Are you waiting for your master?”
Guo Shier politely stepped forward to greet him, saying, “Grandpa Chang, my master will be here soon.”
Up to this point, Chang Yeren still didn’t understand why Luo Jie wanted to come to the Spell Hall. The old man rarely came here even once a few years, so why was he interested in coming this time? He couldn’t help but ask, “Shier, is there something special about your master’s visit?”
Guo Shier smiled and said, “I don’t think so. A disciple’s advancement certification isn’t a big deal, so he’s right.”
Chang Yeren sighed in relief and said, “Sigh, he hasn’t been here in ages… To suddenly be notified that he’s coming—haha, it’s quite scary…”
“You brat! Spreading rumors about my old man again!”
Luo Jie came in with a large group of people, scaring Chang Yeren into jumping up. He laughed awkwardly a few times and explained, “Ah, old man, how would I dare speak ill of you?” Though Chang Yeren held great influence in the Talismans Hall, in front of Luo Jie he didn’t even dare utter nonsense—Luo Jie enjoyed high prestige and strength within the Northern Talismans Sect.
“What instructions do you have, old man? I’ll take care of it for you!”
Guo Shier looked at Chang Yeren’s wrinkled face and fawned over Luo Jie, feeling deeply impressed. No matter in which life, those in high positions always enjoyed great glory.
Luo Jie said with a smile, “It’s nothing major. It’s mainly about my young disciple—well, just a small matter.”
Chang Yeren glanced at Guo Shier and patted his chest, saying, “Give me your orders!”
