Chapter 1: Establishing Authority (Part 2)

Guo Shier said indifferently, “You lost!”
Bushilong remarked, “What a disappointment!” Then he turned and left. Yaoli Xilong gave Guo Shier a glance before also turning to go.
Hu Chen was drenched in sweat, trembling all over from fear of the spinning moon blade. He had no choice but to admit, “I lost!” By now, he fully understood that Guo Shier didn’t intend to kill him. Though he didn’t understand why his opponent hadn’t done so, it was his only chance to survive.
Guo Shier gently pointed, and the moon blade instantly transformed into a crimson stream of light, which he swallowed whole. “You lost 10,000 points—remember to pay me!” With that, he turned and left.
Hu Chen sat down on the playground, unable to stop the cold sweat pouring down his face. He knew the gap between him and his opponent was enormous; the latter had the power to kill him instantly, even surpassing most junior Great Sage Masters. He felt no resentment—given the vast difference in strength, and since Guo Shier hadn’t humiliated him after winning, he felt much better.
Thanks to this battle, Guo Shier became famous among the five large teams. Everyone knew the new young sage master possessed the strength of a junior Great Sage Master. Moreover, because Guo Shier hadn’t killed Hu Chen, he gained a good reputation. Most professionals didn’t like ruthless people.
Bushilong, however, wasn’t happy. For him, such an outcome wasn’t ideal, but he couldn’t order Guo Shier to kill the opponent. There were rules in battles—only the winner could decide whether to kill the opponent, and no one else could interfere, not even the camp commander.
Qian Rongyao heaved a sigh of relief. He walked up to Hu Chen, patted his shoulder gently, and said, “It’s okay. Losing isn’t a big deal. I’ll pay Captain Guo for you first.”
Hu Chen let out a long sigh and shook his head. “Damn it… I’m such an idiot.” The three squad leaders of Team 5 gathered around and laughed upon hearing this. They had been very nervous too—if Hu Chen had been killed, their squad would have been in trouble. Hu Chen had always been good to them. With a different commander, their positions might be at risk.
“Laugh! What’s there to laugh about… Ugh, I’m so unlucky to have run into such a guy.”
One of the squad leaders said, “Boss Hu, whether you win or lose, it’s lucky you’re still alive.”
Hu Chen gave a bitter smile. Guo Shier’s attack had at least knocked half of his arrogance away. He stood up and said, “Alright, let’s go back to the camp. What are you all staring at? If you’re not satisfied, go fight that guy yourself!”

All the professionals scattered in a rush.
Guo Shieru led the professionals from the Tenth Squad back to the camp.
The way these professionals looked at him had completely changed; they all showed expressions of envy and admiration. This wasn’t surprising—in this world, the strong were always respected.
Guo Shieru asked, “Crazy Bull, how many people are there in our squad?”
Crazy Bull replied, “There are 223 in total. We’re short by 127 people, and now there are only two squads left.”
Guo Shieru then asked, “How many are Saints? How many are Mad Masters? How many are Great Masters?”
Crazy Bull was confused and stammered, “We haven’t counted that… I don’t know.”
Guo Shieru sighed inwardly and said, “Go and count it. I need the exact numbers. Also… I want to know everyone’s strength.” It was a simple principle—know yourself and know your enemy. If you don’t even understand the strength of your own people, how can you lead this team?
Crazy Bull didn’t understand at all. He thought Guo Shieru was just making things up out of boredom, but after seeing Guo Shieru’s strength, he knew this guy wasn’t someone to mess with. He nodded and said, “Yes, I’ll go count it right away.”
Guo Shieru didn’t relax at all. He said, “Count it right here. Is everyone here?”
With over 200 professionals, counting them wasn’t easy. Crazy Bull looked miserable—he really didn’t want to do this. Ning Xin said, “Let me help you…”
Crazy Bull immediately showed joy and kept saying, “Xinxin, you’re the best…”
Guo Shieru almost spat out—Xinxin? That was way too cheesy. How could this guy have the name Crazy Bull? It didn’t fit at all. He should be called Little Naughty Bull instead.
Ning Xin looked shy and said, “Stop talking. Hurry up and count.”
Guo Shieru said, “Little Naughty Bull… uh, Crazy Bull, record it using a talisman.” Unconsciously, he had used the name he had given Crazy Bull in his mind.
As soon as these words came out, all the professionals burst into laughter.
Crazy Bull’s face turned red. Ning Xin couldn’t hold back either; she blushed and spat lightly, saying in a low voice, “The captain isn’t a proper person either!”
Guo Shieru felt embarrassed. How did he blurt out what he was thinking? He shouted, “Why are you laughing? Stop laughing!” But no one paid attention; they continued laughing wildly.
Eagle Demon said while laughing, “Little Naughty Bull—very apt…”
Later, Crazy Bull sadly realized that all the professionals called him Little Naughty Bull or Naughty Bull, and no one called him Crazy Bull anymore.

The statistical results were far from optimistic. There were two Saints—Guo Shier and Eagle Demon—four senior Mad Masters, nine intermediate Mad Masters, seventeen junior Mad Masters, and the rest were master-level professionals. The majority were male professionals, with only sixteen females, including Ning Xin.

Guo Shier simply divided these people into twenty-two groups of ten each, which were further split into three squads of seven groups. Eagle Demon was the leader of the first squad, while the extra group was directly under Guo Shier’s command. Each squad consisted of seventy people, with seven group leaders. Guo Shier didn’t care about how the teams were organized; what he needed was absolute control.

His first order was to dismantle all the tents in the tenth squad. Each group built one large tent, and all members lived inside it—so each squad had seven large tents. Then, he arranged for internal order to be maintained. Everything had to be neatly arranged, whether it was beds or personal items. This almost obsessively meticulous requirement made the professionals want to rebel, but Guo Shier suppressed them firmly. He didn’t hit or kill them; he simply used spiritual pressure, forcing them to obey orders.

Seeing that this tactic worked well, Guo Shier often used spiritual pressure to control others. As a result, although the professionals complained endlessly, their spirits gradually grew stronger. Eventually, if Guo Shier stopped using spiritual pressure, they even felt uncomfortable.

Professionals from other squads noticed that Guo Shier’s squad was different from before. Not only was the camp clean and tidy with neatly arranged large tents, but every professional also wore uniform clothing. This was leather armor crafted by the female professionals in Guo Shier’s squad, using high-grade mutated beast skins provided by him—materials he had in abundance.

The members’ leather armor was uniformly black, while the group leaders wore white and the squad leaders wore red, making it easy to tell who was a group leader and who was a squad leader. Compared to the chaotic camps and disheveled members elsewhere, their tenth squad stood out visually, though there was still no real difference in substance.

After about ten days, Guo Shier began training the members, taking everyone out of the camp to train in the wilderness.

Although they were dressed in neat leather armor, these people’s movements remained chaotic. So once they reached the wilderness, Guo Shier’s first task was to organize them into formation and train them using the standing postures and walking styles of the army from his past life. The professionals were instantly furious—they had never heard that there were rules even for standing postures. What troubled them the most was the formation training; they were all used to being unrestrained and had never encountered such things before.

Guo Shier didn’t explain anything. Anyone who dared to object would be singled out and subjected to soul pressure until they agreed. Half a month later, the quality of these people had improved significantly, far surpassing the soldiers he had led in his previous life.

During these two weeks, Guo Shier repeatedly emphasized discipline and obedience to orders. The Tenth Squad became famous within the First Brigade—every day, they could be seen marching in neat formations into the wilderness and returning in the same orderly manner in the evening.

Gradually, everyone noticed a change in the atmosphere of the Tenth Squad—a stern, oppressive aura permeated their well-organized ranks. Professionals were highly sensitive and could all sense this aura.

A month later, the Tenth Squad had fully become a cohesive unit. Guo Shier began new training. This time, he focused on combat skills. In the world of spells, individual strength was paramount, and collective strength was difficult to utilize because individual strength could be pushed to its limits. A master with a virtual altar could easily deal with a group of Great Saints and even kill them instantly, so there was little experience in organizing troops in this world.

Guo Shier knew that a united group would surely be stronger than a similar number of individual professionals. Unorganized fighters couldn’t compete with those who were trained and organized. Of course, in this world, a team of a hundred masters might be able to defeat a few Mad Saints or engage in a prolonged battle with a few Saints, but they would never be able to defeat a Great Saint.

However, under equal conditions, an organized and disciplined team would definitely win. This was why Guo Shier wanted to train them.

This training was even more mysterious. Guo Shier took the members of the Tenth Squad out for five or six days at a time before returning for rest. After two months of continuous training, these professionals had been completely tamed by Guo Shier. They became extremely disciplined and obeyed any order he gave without hesitation.

No one in the First Brigade paid attention to Guo Shier’s training, nor did anyone inquire about it, not even Qian Rongyao. As a result, Guo Shier’s training progressed smoothly.

That early morning, Guo Shier gathered all his team members to set off for training when a message token arrived. After taking a quick look, Guo Shier was stunned. It was an order token, telling him to go to the headquarters for new tasks. Guo Shier immediately ordered the team to disband and headed toward the headquarters with Yingmo, Kuangniu, and Ningxin. Not knowing what was going on, Yingmo asked, “Shier, where are we going?”
