Chapter 3: Chaotic Battle (Part 2)
Five chasing one, fighting as they pursued—Han Xiao cried out in agony. This guy was both enraged and terrified. On the Star Continent, he was considered a top figure, always arrogant and looking down on those disciples who came to train, often bullying them. But this time, he had hit a wall. Even worse, among these people was a Black Sigil Man.
Han Xiao knew well about Black Sigil Men—they were a bunch of madmen, madmen who dared to challenge those above them in rank. They strengthened themselves by burning their opponents’ souls, the very thing that terrified professionals the most. Once a Black Sigil Man was detected, battle to the death was inevitable.
Qi Nanshan moved swiftly several times and suddenly appeared in front of Han Xiao. He revealed his form, raised his arm, and thrust the spear wreathed in black flames forward. After launching the spear, Qi Nanshan slammed his chest and shouted, “Split!” The spear in the air instantly turned into three identical spears, all aiming at Han Xiao mid-flight.
The Evil Head roared, and his trident flew out, blocking Han Xiao’s paths to dodge left or right. Guo Shier’s sword talisman struck from below, piercing upward.
Eagle Demon and Monier were still some distance away, too late to intervene, and could only watch helplessly.
Han Xiao now realized he couldn’t touch Qi Nanshan’s spear—touching it would mean certain death. Tridents blocked both sides, and worst of all, Guo Shier’s sword talisman was piercing from below. Just the thought of being hit made him shiver. His only option was to use teleportation again.
At that moment, Qi Nanshan wore a sinister smile. He slammed his chest again and roared, “Divide!” Those two words were ancient runes, which Guo Shier heard clearly.
In an instant, the three spears that had approached Han Xiao turned into countless needle-thin pins, sweeping across like a storm. Each pin burned with black flames. Han Xiao screamed in horror. He had already teleported ten meters away, but the pins were too dense to avoid completely. Dozens of pins pierced one of his arms, and instantly, the black flames spread up his body.
As soon as Han Xiao reappeared, he let out a pitiful cry. Moments later, he turned to ashes, scattered by the wind into dust that fell to the ground, leaving only a ball of black sigil fire burning in midair.
Poor Han Xiao didn’t get to use many of his powerful skills before being killed by Qi Nan Shan. This is exactly what happens when an inexperienced fighter tries to take on an experienced one—he becomes timid, only managing to use 30% of his abilities despite having 100% potential, and while hoping for reinforcements and trying to escape, he ends up killed instead.
Qi Nan Shan flew over the black talisman fire, reached out, and grabbed it; the black flame disappeared into his palm. His body trembled slightly for a moment as his soul grew stronger. Burning a Great Sage’s soul allowed him to advance to an Advanced Sage effortlessly.
Qi Nan Shan said with lingering fear, “Luck!”
Xie Tou shouted, “What are you waiting for here? If you don’t leave now… you won’t be able to!” He didn’t want to come into contact with Guo Shier and the others, but since they had saved his life, he gave them a warning before flying away immediately. He knew well that although a Black Talisman warrior was strong in combat, once discovered, they would face pursuit from numerous professionals. He didn’t want to get involved, so the best option was to flee.
Guo Shier also understood the situation and said, “Let’s head that way!” He pointed in the direction Xie Tou was flying. He wasn’t stupid—he knew this guy must be familiar with the terrain here, so following him would prevent them from encountering people from the Star Sect.
Qi Nan Shan put on a jacket to cover the black patterns on his body, flew over to Guo Shier, and said, “That guy has already sent his signal. We need to find a secret realm to hide in as soon as possible. If we’re surrounded and inspected, we won’t be able to handle it.”
The four of them flew low across the ground. They could already see silhouettes approaching from afar—at least dozens of people.
Xie Tou cursed inwardly at how cunning these guys were. If they went elsewhere, they would definitely meet people from the Star Sect, which would give him a chance to escape. He knew he wasn’t suited to stay on the Star Continent, so he had already prepared to head to a secret realm.
He also flew low, not daring to fly high, as that would make him too visible. He glanced back at Guo Shier and the others and sped up further.
Guo Shier gritted his teeth and said, “Keep up!” He understood this guy’s intentions and felt a bit disdain for him.
Monier followed closely behind Guo Shier, with the Eagle Demon guarding on the other side. Qi Nan Shan’s speed was almost on par with Xie Tou’s. He hadn’t used his full strength yet. If he went all out in pursuit, even as a Great Sage, Xie Tou couldn’t fly faster than him.
The Star Sect disciples flying high dropped a few of their members to search for Han Xiao’s whereabouts, while the rest circled in the sky. Soon, they spotted the five people flying low. With a whistle, more than a dozen Star Sect disciples rushed after them.
Xie Tou cursed inwardly, knowing that the trail of the five flying was easily detectable. He increased his speed again, producing a loud sonic roar as if a phantom was sweeping across the land, quickly leaving Guo Shier and the others behind.
Qi Nan Shan couldn’t pursue at full speed because he had to consider those behind him. If he accelerated, Guo Shier, Ying Mo, and Monier would fall behind, and he didn’t want to get separated from them again. Gradually, only Xie Tou’s shadow could be seen. This guy was flying at full speed—he was a junior Great Sage Master, whose strength was far beyond Guo Shier and the others. Looking at those chasing behind, Guo Shier said, “Let’s head into the mountains again!” He didn’t dare enter some secret realm casually; if it was a restricted one, they might be trapped inside.
Xie Tou was secretly relieved to have gotten rid of those Sage Masters. He slowed down slightly and flew effortlessly ahead. After all, even a Great Sage Master couldn’t sustain such high-speed pursuit for long.
Suddenly, a stream of fire shot out from the woods, heading straight for him. The runes within the flames were clearly visible. Xie Tou flew into rage—anyone, even lowly figures, dared to attack him? They were simply seeking death! He reached out vaguely, and a trident suddenly appeared in his hand. The stream of fire reached him just then.
The trident made a gentle circle, and the stream of fire fell into it, instantly turning into sparks everywhere. Xie Tou roared, “Come out!”
Six people flew out of the woods—one Master, threeCrazy Masters Masters Masters, and two Sage Masters. What angered Xie Tou most was that these low-level Star Sect disciples dared to block his path.
One of the junior Sage Masters shouted, “Don’t fight head-on! Hold him off!”
Xie Tou glanced back, then turned and lunged at the shouting junior Sage Master, snarling, “Die!” His fingers spread, and five strands of virtual runes shot out from his fingertips, quickly wrapping around him.
Another Sage Master screamed, “Hide quickly!” His hands instantly emitted hundreds of spells, producing countless virtual runes that soon condensed into swirling snowflakes, rushing forward with a howl.
Xie Tou clenched his five fingers into a fist and roared, “Stop!” The five strands of virtual runes immediately wrapped around the Sage Master, freezing him in place with his roar. Then the trident flew out, piercing through the man’s body in an instant, killing him on the spot.
The Sage Master who launched the snowstorm attack was terrified, realizing now that the person blocking him was actually a Great Sage Master. He had thought it was a mid-to-high-level Sage and turned to run in panic.
Xie Tou sneered coldly, “If you can run away… then I’m not Xie Tou. I’m just a damn lowly scoundrel!” He reached out vaguely, and the trident that had flown far away suddenly appeared in his hand. Raising his arm, he swung the trident violently—with a loud clang! The sound shook the remaining people, causing them to tremble. Then, he threw the trident.
In less than a minute, he killed another junior Holy Master, followed by three Berserker Masters in quick succession. As for that Master, he simply used a virtual talisman to tear that person to pieces.
Snap! Snap…
Suddenly, a person appeared in front of Xie Tou. The person clapped and said, “Great kill… absolutely brilliant! Amazing! Haha, killing lower-level disciples is like killing chickens—so impressive, so terrifying!”
Xie Tou’s pupils contracted sharply. Confused, he asked, “A senior Grand Holy Master? No…”
The person replied indifferently, “Just a little higher than you guessed! Hmph… Sorry, in my eyes, you’re just as worthless as those Star Sect disciples who were killed!”
Xie Tou’s heart turned icy. A rank higher than a Grand Holy Master—such strength was beyond his ability to resist. He had long known that only professionals above the rank of Grand Holy Master were true masters of the advanced continents. Although Grand Holy Masters were powerful, they paled in comparison to this person before him.
The person said calmly, “You’ve killed… well, there are six Star Sect disciples here, plus the three you killed at the beginning… that’s nine. And Han Xiao should also be dead at your hands. Not bad… For just a junior Grand Holy Master, you’ve killed so many of our Star Sect disciples. That’s why I’m clapping in approval!”
Xie Tou knew he was done for. He could hear the hatred in the person’s tone. Gathering his courage, he said, “It’s their fault for provoking me!”
The person nodded. “I know, I know… Haha, of course I know. On this land, our Star Sect disciples tend to be arrogant.”
Xie Tou said, “It’s not my fault. I was just protecting myself!”
The person flew into a rage and cursed, “Shut up! You think you’re protecting yourself? You fucking braggart, coming all the way to our Star Continent to show off? You…” Suddenly, he laughed again and said nonchalantly, “Remember… my surname is Ao. Ao Kuang—that’s me! You might forget your parents’ names someday, but you’ll never forget me!” Before he finished speaking, he rushed at him.
Guo Shier and the others had already entered the mountainous area. They never expected that the Evil Head would be blocked, and moreover, a master like Zhu Jiamao would appear. Half of those chasing behind them were left behind, as they had to split up to pursue—one-third going after the Evil Head, while the remaining professionals continued to chase desperately from behind.
After about twenty minutes of pursuit, Guo Shier and the others rushed into the mountains.
Guo Shier shouted, “Grandpa Qinan, find a suitable secret realm!”
The four of them flew along the bottom of the valley. Secret realms appeared from time to time, but Qi Nanshan didn’t stop. Clearly, these entrances were not suitable; he wanted to find an entrance that was a bit more hidden, preferably one that could be closed as soon as they entered.
Guo Shier anxiously looked back when the Eagle Demon suddenly said, “Look up!”
Several talismanic lights rose from the nearby mountain peaks. Guo Shier’s heart sank slightly as he said, “Grandpa Qinan! Hurry!”
