Chapter 387: Reencountering the Snow God
The Master of the Dust-Free Valley used mental control, combined with the great teleportation technique, to summon his twenty Magic Seedlings at the Nascent Soul stage into the grand hall. With a casual wave of his hand, twenty blood-red demonic parasites emerged from their bodies and were taken away by him, their whereabouts unknown.
The twenty soulless shells of the Nascent Soul stage stood there blankly. From this moment on, they had changed masters and become Su Che’s personal property.
Swish!
Su Che waved his hand, sending them to the Immortal Prison. Without the Master of the Dust-Free Valley urging him, he readily swore an oath using his heart demons, promising to do his utmost to conceal secrets and help him through crises whenever needed…
“It’s clear that Daoist Xuan Yu is an honest person. Such an oath from heart demons is merely a promise,” said the Master of the Dust-Free Valley with a smile. “So, does Daoist Xuan Yu plan to leave Blue Curtain Planet now?”
“Yes.”
Su Che nodded. Although he couldn’t stop what he would do on Blue Curtain Planet, he still advised, “Those who pursue cultivation have embarked on a difficult path filled with hardships. Facing various disasters is inevitable. Yet, I still hope you’ll spare the ordinary people of Blue Curtain Planet and not turn it into a wasteland.”
“Very well. Out of courtesy to you, I’ll let them live…” The Master of the Dust-Free Valley laughed. “At worst, I’ll find another cultivation realm and devour its cultivators. As for those ordinary people, they can’t carry much magic power anyway, so it doesn’t matter.”
“Thank you,” said Su Che, bowing—this being the only time he thanked him, for the sake of those innocent ordinary people.
The Master of the Dust-Free Valley gave him a peculiar look before nodding. “Though our paths differ, even a villain like me is willing to befriend good people. It never hurts to associate with good folks.”
Su Che smiled faintly, thinking to himself that wasn’t necessarily true.
“Then let’s agree to meet again on Blue Curtain Planet in ten years,” the Master of the Dust-Free Valley said finally. “I reckon I’ll need Daoist Xuan Yu’s strong help by then.”
“Agreed, in ten years!” Su Che promptly agreed.
Thus, a preliminary agreement for cooperation was reached between the two. Yet, there was no real affection involved. Su Che didn’t wish to stay long and immediately took his leave.
The Master of the Dust-Free Valley didn’t get up to see him off. He silently watched Su Che’s back disappear from the grand hall. His emotionless eyes held a bone-chilling coldness.
No one else could guess his true thoughts, except himself…
After leaving the Dust-Free Valley, Su Che activated the Star Emperor Compass, intending to fly into space to release the Flaming Bones and slack off a bit, letting her steer the compass to carry on the journey. Their next stop was Wu Huang Star, where they would collect numerous genius treasures and vast amounts of cultivation materials.
However, just as they left the atmosphere, they noticed a stealthy light following them.
When the distance narrowed enough, Su Che recognized it as the current head of the Snow God Palace, someone he had met before. The last time he and Tian Yin went to Wu Huang Star, this woman had intercepted them and frozen them. What did she want now?
Su Che then realized that she must have recognized his Star Emperor Compass, which was why she was following them. Now, there was no need to fear her—a late-stage Yuan Ying cultivator wielding a top-tier Dao artifact. Su Che was confident that even in a direct confrontation, defeating her would be quite easy.
Yet, he hadn’t seen her during their days in the Dust-Free Valley. In fact, as far as Su Che knew, the Snow God Palace hadn’t sent anyone there at all. So how did she learn of his presence?
With this question in mind, Su Che simply stopped and waited for her to fly closer.
The aloof head of the Snow God Palace stopped at a distance of a hundred feet and asked directly, “Fellow Xuan Yu, have we met before, over two years ago?”
“Yes, we have,” Su Che replied calmly. “Back then, in space, I even experienced the immense power of the top-tier Dao artifact, the Xuan Guang Tian Jing.”
“It really is you…”
The head of the Snow God Palace nodded slightly, clearly moved. “It’s been two years, and you’ve already reached the Yuan Ying stage.”
“Does the palace head have something to ask of me?” Su Che asked directly. Since they had no relationship, it was better to get straight to the point and save time.
“I apologize for my offense from last time. If you’re willing to accept my apologies, I’ll also offer personal compensation.”
Her words sounded awkward and stiff, showing how difficult it must be for her, with her cold and proud personality, to utter such words of apology.
This made Su Che curious. She had come all this way just to apologize—undoubtedly, she must have a request, and it surely wasn’t trivial, enough to make her lower her guard against her usual demeanor.
“You were also at fault back then, so it’s understandable,” Su Che said gently. “It’s in the past now. I don’t hold it against you.”
“That’s good. Thank you, Fellow Xuan Yu, for your generosity.”
The Palace Master of the Snow God secretly breathed a sigh of relief, glad to have encountered someone willing to talk. Otherwise, if he had been cold and mocking, she would have had no choice but to endure it.
“There’s nothing I can’t say directly,” Su Che replied calmly. “But I can guess it must be related to the plague of demonization on Mu Lan Star, right?”
“Yes.”
The Palace Master nodded. “That day, you and a cultivator in the later stages of the Yuan Ying phase appeared in the market of Lingyun Mountain. My subordinates sent images of you two back to the Snow God Palace, and I recognized your flying magic artifact. Later, my high-level informant stationed in Juechen Valley also sent a message reporting that you had discovered advanced demons there…”
She paused briefly before continuing, “So I came outside Juechen Valley and waited patiently, hoping to meet you alone to ask about the plague of demonization.”
Su Che countered, “Just because you found advanced demons, does it really warrant the Palace Master coming all this way? Isn’t that overreacting?”
“Fellow Xuan Yu, from the fact that you were able to use the divine power of the Sky-Devouring Rat last time, I guessed that you are a descendant of that ancient demon god, and thus possess insights and abilities beyond ordinary people,” the Palace Master explained softly. “Fellow Xuan Yu doesn’t belong to Mu Lan Star’s cultivation world. You came here and encountered this terrifying plague of demonization, yet instead of leaving this disaster-stricken planet immediately, you stayed temporarily. I believe your understanding of this disaster must be clearer than ours, and you surely know many secrets. That’s why…”
Su Che nodded in agreement. “The Palace Master is right. I do know some of the true details about this disaster, but for certain reasons, I can’t reveal them.”
The reason for his hesitation was that since the master of Juechen Valley had promised to spare ordinary beings on Mu Lan Star, there was no need for him to betray them and ruin their chances.
“I see…”
The Palace Master lowered her gaze slightly, pondered for a moment, then asked, “Then I’ll ask just one question. Please, Fellow Xuan Yu, help me understand as much as possible.”
“Sure, go ahead,” Su Che nodded.
“Could you please give me some indication—can we survive this plague of demonization?” she asked, her eyes filled with hope.
Su Che slowly shook his head and kindly reminded, “If I were you, I would hurry up and take all the disciples of the Snow God Palace, along with their families, to another star region to establish a new sect. It should be as far away as possible—none of the nearby planets’ cultivation realms will do. That’s all I can reveal.” With that, Su Che prepared to fly away…
“Fellow Xuan Yu, please wait a moment,” called the ruler of the Snow God Palace urgently.
Su Che turned back and asked, “I really can’t say much about the other matters. Please forgive me.”
“That’s not it,” the ruler replied immediately. “Actually, I’ve already been prepared to leave Planet Lanlan, which is why I didn’t attend the Yuan Ying gathering in the Dustless Valley.”
“Oh?” Su Che was curious—he hadn’t expected this woman to be so farsighted. After all, for a major sect to relocate to another star region and abandon its millennia-old traditions was a huge decision that wouldn’t be made lightly. Yet she seemed to have planned ahead, missing only the final step…
The ruler explained, “Our sect’s form of existence is rather unique. In truth, the Xuan Guang Tian Jing is the foundation of our sect. As for which planet we settle on, it’s not that important.”
Su Che nodded, recalling that the top-tier cultivation artifact, the Xuan Guang Tian Jing, was crafted by powerful cultivators using an ice planet. Its interior space spanned tens of thousands of square miles, making it ideal for cultivators who practiced ice-based spells to reside there. Since they already had such a planet, where they settled didn’t matter much—geography was no longer significant.
However, this was all about the Snow God Palace and had nothing to do with Su Che. He said, “In that case, the palace can make a wise decision. Don’t hesitate any longer.”
“Yes. That celestial tremor several years ago was a warning that a great disaster was approaching in the cultivation realm. Things have been chaotic ever since, and I’ve been preparing ever since.” At this point, the ruler softly asked, “Where should our sect relocate? I was wondering if Fellow Xuan Yu could offer some advice?”
Hearing this, Su Che felt inspired: “Next, if I deal with the Yuan Ying cultivators from chaotic factions like the Tai Yi Sect, those sects will automatically downgrade to large sects. That would free up at least seven spots for super sects in the Qi Yuan Star cultivation realm… If the Snow God Palace moves to Qi Yuan Star, and since it’s a close ally of the Tian Xuan Sect, it would be a great choice.”
So he said to her, “If you can carry the entire sect inside the Xuan Guang Tian Jing, then I can indeed take you to a relatively safe planet where there will be no risk of demonization. After all, my foundation is also there.”
The Snow God Palace Master hesitated for a moment before asking, “Should we leave now?”
Su Che was taken aback. “What do you mean? You can leave with me right now?”
The Snow God Palace Master nodded gently. “Yes. I’ve already made all the preparations. Even before March, to protect my disciples from being demonized, I transferred them, along with all their relatives, into the Xuan Guang Tian Jing, ready to leave at any time. Currently, only a few inner disciples in the Jue Chen Valley haven’t been evacuated yet.”
Su Che nodded inwardly. “I must admit, this woman is highly visionary and decisive—she’s by no means an ordinary person!”
