Chapter 112

The young man was stunned, staring at Li Shuang with wide eyes. The latter said in a sinister tone, “If you hadn’t called, how could your damn boss and those Russians come out so easily?!” Seeing his dumbfounded expression, Li Shuang laughed triumphantly before pulling the trigger.
“Bang!” With a gunshot, the young man left this world forever, his doubts remaining unanswered.

Inside a villa near Erlong Mountain, nestled between two large mountains in a serene environment, the villa was quite spacious, surrounded by tall white walls, with a three-story building in European style inside. A road led straight from the front of the villa to the main road below the mountains.

At that moment, no fewer than fifteen cars of various sizes were parked in the villa’s courtyard. Yevgeny sat in a black Mercedes, sticking his large head out of the window and shouting loudly. Dozens of people were rushing into the cars, armed, preparing to support the venues in the city that had been attacked.

Seeing that Qin Songjun still hadn’t come out, Yevgeny cursed angrily, “What the hell is this damn Qin Songjun doing? Why is he still dawdling at this hour? Soon, Wen Dong’s gang will destroy everything…” As he was complaining, Qin Songjun ran out of the small building, looking unhappy, fastening the buttons of his shirt as he went. He approached Yevgeny and asked, “I heard the venues in the city were attacked? That can’t be true!”

Yevgeny turned red with anger and snapped, “You know that and still take so long to come out? Are you an idiot? Get in the car quickly, call the other venues to find out what’s going on. And tell others to come and help right away! You’re such an idiot!”

Qin Songjun had been having fun with two women in his room when suddenly one of Yevgeny’s men from Russia barged in without knocking, telling him that the venues in the city had been attacked and he needed to go gather everyone immediately. Already annoyed, Qin Songjun was further angered by Yevgeny’s scolding. He thought to himself, “Damn you, Russian! I’ll show you how far you can get!” Though he spoke politely, he said, “Yes, yes! I’ll call right away!”

Qin Songjun got into the car and started calling the various venues in the city. He tried five times with no one answering, until the sixth time someone picked up. He quickly asked, “Is anything wrong at your venue? Was there any attack?”

The other party was surprised and replied, “Everything’s calm here. No attacks at all. Brother Jun, what’s going on?”

“Nothing! Hongyang Nightclub has been attacked. I called several places but no one answered. Go to each place to see what’s going on and bring our guys to help Hongyang. Act fast—we’ll be there soon!”
“Got it!” came the reply from the other end before the call was hung up.
Dozens of cars drove out of the villa gates and headed straight for the main road along the mountain path. Just as they reached the foot of the mountain, the road was blocked by several large trees, preventing the cars from passing. As the cars stopped, Yevgeny stuck his head out and shouted, “What’s going on? Hurry up!”
A man ran up ahead and said urgently, “Boss, the road is blocked by tree trunks lying across it. We can’t get through!”
“Damn it!” Qin Songjun cursed. “Then what are you standing around for? Go get someone to move them aside. Damn, the more urgent it is, the more problems arise. Why aren’t there tree trunks blocking the road usually…?” Suddenly, Qin Songjun sensed something was wrong and panicked, saying, “Mr. Yevgeny, these tree trunks didn’t fall earlier or later—they fell exactly at this moment. Could it be a trap?”
Yevgeny sneered, “A trap? What trap? If you’re scared, get back right now!”
“I… I didn’t mean that.” Qin Songjun was speechless under Yevgeny’s pressure and thought to himself that it would be best if it was indeed a trap—he could take advantage of the chaos to kill this bastard first.
Seven or eight people got out of the cars in front, cursing as they moved the tree trunks, each thicker than a person, to the side of the road. Just as they lifted them, a deafening explosion erupted from behind. A ball of fire rose from the last car, followed by thick smoke. The entire car turned into black carbon, and the people inside died instantly.
Right after the explosion, several men in black with their mouths covered by black cloth rushed out from the dense forests on both sides of the road. Armed with submachine guns and AKs, they fired continuously at the men moving the tree trunks. Those poor men didn’t even have time to scream before they fell to the ground along with the trunks.
In an instant, the Menghu Gang’s convoy became chaotic, filled with screams.
There weren’t many of those men in black—less than twenty—but their shooting was extremely accurate, like demons from hell, mercilessly killing those who ran out of the cars.
Behind them, a short man holding a rocket launcher sneered. It was he who had blown up the last car with a rocket blast. Two others followed him, armed with pistols. These three were Jiang Sen, Golden Eye, and Mu Zi.

Jiang Sen threw the rocket launcher on the ground, pulled a pistol from his back waist, and said to the two people behind him, “It’s our turn now!” With that, he raised his gun and killed a burly man who had just run out of the car and was about to shoot at them. Golden Eye and Mu Zi laughed and started shooting as well.

The Tigers Gang had a numerical advantage but was severely demoralized. They knew nothing about the attackers in black, not even how many there were. Within moments of the fight starting, over a dozen of their own men were killed by bullets. Losing their momentum, the Tigers Gang members had no desire to continue fighting; many ran into the woods beside the road after firing a few shots.

Yevgeny screamed loudly, but no one paid attention to him as everyone fled. Yevgeny grabbed Qin Songjun’s clothes and shouted frantically, “Look! These are your so-called elite soldiers! Tell them to hold their ground!”

Qin Songjun shook off the hand holding his collar, pulled out his gun, and said, “Damn it, no need for your nonsense! I know what to do!” He shot one of his own men in the head as that man ran into the woods, shouting, “Damn you all! I’ll shoot anyone who tries to run!”

This worked. The remaining twenty-some men gathered around Yevgeny and Qin Songjun. Some drove their cars over, forming a semi-circle. The Tigers Gang used the cars as cover to counterattack the attackers in black.

Jiang Sen’s men were all members of the Blood Killers group, trained by Dong Xinlei using methods designed to create assassins. They were good at surprise attacks but struggled in prolonged battles. Over a dozen of them were suppressed by the Tigers Gang, who had managed to gain a foothold, forcing them to seek cover. For a while, they couldn’t do anything against the Tigers Gang. Shots flew back and forth, hitting car bodies with clanging sounds that put everyone on edge.

“Damn it, we’ve wasted too much time!” Jiang Sen said to Golden Eye and the other man. “How long will this go on? Brother Dong is still waiting!”

Golden Eye asked, “Aren’t you bringing grenades? Blowing up the cars in front of them will make things easier!”

“How could I forget this!” Jiang Sen slapped his head, quickly pulled out a grenade from his waist, grinned, removed the safety, and said harshly, “Let’s see how you hide now!” With that, he bent down and threw the grenade along the ground.

The grenade rolled across the ground and ended up under one of the Tigers Gang’s cars. Three seconds later, a loud explosion erupted. The car was lifted a foot off the ground like a giant burning ball, with its fragments flying in all directions. Those hiding behind the car suffered the worst, being thrown out by the shockwave, their bodies pierced by shards of glass and metal, dying even as they were still in the air. The others were also pushed back by the blast waves, with several injured by debris, lying on the ground screaming in pain.

Jiang Sen was delighted at this sight, thinking it was a great opportunity. He shouted, “Kill them!”

Firing resumed immediately, even more intense than before. Jiang Sen and his two companions charged at the Tigers Gang, their guns never stopping. They moved slowly, almost as if strolling, but they pulled the triggers swiftly. All three were skilled marksmen—one a former military scout (strictly speaking, scouts are also part of special forces, with training just as rigorous as that of special forces operatives), and the other two former assassins, both with exceptional marksmanship, ensuring each bullet hit its target.

Three men, six guns—shell casings littered the ground where they passed, forming a straight line of yellow.

The Tigers Gang was left with a gap in their defenses, unable to withstand the attack from these death-like figures. Within moments, at least ten of them were shot multiple times and fell to the ground. One of them was one of the two Russian men brought by Yevgeny, hit in the heart by a stray bullet.

Under such circumstances, Yevgeny lost his usual composure. He bent down, opened the door of a car, and got inside. Before starting the engine, he shouted, “Hold your ground! There aren’t many of them. I’ll reward ten thousand for each one you kill!” (Russian)

Seeing him try to escape, Qin Songjun cursed under his breath, opened the door, and also bent down to get in. “Mr. Yevgeny, if you’re leaving, you have to take me with you. Otherwise, neither of us will be safe!” (Russian)

Yevgeny muttered a few curses under his breath before nodding. “Alright, then you drive. Once we get back to the villa, we’ll be safe!” (Russian) With that, he gave the driving seat to Qin Songjun. The latter snorted, sat down, and stepped on the accelerator hard, driving the car straight toward the villa on the mountain. Seeing their leader flee, the others had no intention of waiting to die and scattered into the woods. The last Russian man shouted loudly, grabbed someone trying to run away, and demanded angrily, “The boss told you to hold your ground! Where are you running to?” (Russian)

The man couldn’t understand Russian and said anxiously, “The men in black are coming to kill us! If you want to die, die by yourself—don’t pull me along. Let go!”
The old Russian flew into a rage, swatted him across the face, and shouted, “Damn you, you bunch of cowards!”
Seeing that he still hadn’t let go, the man looked around; no one was paying attention. He quietly pointed the gun at the old Russian’s stomach and fired twice, cursing the whole time, “Damn you, old Russian! You drag me down with you to death! Bah! What kind of worthless shit!”
The old Russian couldn’t believe that the Chinese pig he had always seen as weak would actually betray him. He stared at the man with wide eyes as blood kept flowing from the two holes in his stomach. He even relaxed his grip on the man’s hand. Fearing the man might not die and cause trouble later, the man fired another shot at the old Russian’s head before rushing into the woods.
