Chapter 413: Take It One Step at a Time

“One expert from the Ruijin Flag killed, 30 points gained. Current score: 819!” Turning around, he killed the Ruijin Flag expert with a sword strike, then casually threw the sword back into his Qiankun Bag. He stuffed another Jade Dew Pill into his mouth to replenish the internal energy depleted by the Imperial Extreme Technique—a secret skill capable of injuring even experts at the Liberation Realm, let alone an ordinary expert from the Ruijin Flag at the Life and Death Realm.

These people couldn’t stop Happy’s progress.

To prevent more Emei Sect disciples from falling victim to the Five Elements Flag, Happy, who was determined to protect them, certainly wouldn’t allow the members of the Flaming Flag to throw those oil-filled pots into the crowd.

Ignoring the Ruijin Flag disciples chasing behind him, Happy shattered the pots scattered on the ground with a sword strike. Black oil splashed everywhere, even contaminating several nearby underground passages.

Ding!

System notification: “Disrupted the Flaming Flag’s attack, reduced casualties among Emei Sect disciples, gained favor from Master Mie Jue of Emei Sect! Gained favor from Zhou Zhiruo.”

Happy froze for a moment before looking back.

The lime powder that had filled the air had settled into dust. After making significant sacrifices, the Emei Sect finally managed to stabilize their position using Happy as a breakthrough point, avoiding the Flaming Flag’s attacks. Under the leadership of Ding Minjun, Zhou Zhiruo, and others, they began to counterattack.

Gu Feng and the others weren’t idle either; they swiftly identified and eliminated the flag bearers hidden in the crowd, earning merit!

Without a leader, the Five Elements Flag quickly fell into chaos.

After suffering heavy losses, they were finally forced to retreat through the underground passages.

Although they survived this battle, the Emei Sect suffered heavy losses and had to rest on the spot!

Seeing the bodies of Emei Sect disciples everywhere, the players following behind sighed deeply…

Truly the most formidable force among the Ming Sect’s Five Elements Flag!

The gazes directed at Happy and the others now held less envy and more admiration.

They truly were experts chosen and recognized by the six major sects. Without them, the Emei Sect’s losses might have doubled, and it would have been uncertain whether they could have repelled the attack!

“Master, over 130 junior sisters died, and more than 200 were injured! The Five Elements Flag lost less than 300…” Ding Minjun’s account of the battle shocked everyone.

The Emei Sect had barely a thousand disciples, and they had suffered such heavy losses in their first direct confrontation. The road ahead seemed difficult.

Many players behind them looked solemn.

The Five Elements Flag was already strong, and with their various tactics, any place could become their stronghold. The Emei Sect could only resist and counterattack passively, unable to control their own fate.

Behind the main forces, countless players disguised as Mingjiao disciples were full of morale. Under the cover of the Five Elements Flags, they suppressed heroes from various factions from a distance, killing many players along the way. The heroes attacking Mount Guangming were initially overwhelmed by the Mingjiao soldiers with the Five Elements Flags, and then hit by waves of arrows from hidden positions, resulting in heavy casualties! Some tried to break through and descend the mountain, while others retreated uphill, their morale greatly diminished. Along the way, among the Mingjiao disciples, players whispered to each other, “Damn, they’re not dropping any loot.” “Nonsense.” “Hurry up, let’s earn more points. I heard those with the highest scores might get the ‘Great Heaven and Earth Shift Technique’!” “Who said that nonsense?” Despite this, the morale of the Mingjiao disciples clearly grew stronger—even if they couldn’t obtain the Great Heaven and Earth Shift Technique, gaining the favor of Mingjiao experts was still good, as there were many such experts. … Almost at the same time, the troops of all six major sects were ambushed by the Five Elements Flags, suffering heavy losses. During the Emei Sect’s rest period, messenger pigeons kept flying back and forth among the crowd! Many were trying to find out the progress and situation of the other factions. Soon, news of the Mingjiao launching a massive counterattack spread among the players, creating an atmosphere of unease: “Damn it! There are a large number of Mingjiao disciples coming at us with the help of the Five Elements Flags! My friend says their strength isn’t great, but they’re very cunning. Their numbers aren’t less than ours; they might be players in disguise.” “How is that possible!” “That’s right. They must be players recruited by the Mingjiao.” “Ah!” “This is bad.” The crowd immediately became chaotic, with many complaining about the unfairness. Although the six major sects had a large presence, they only sent their disciples and martial arts experts into battle, never stepping in themselves. In contrast, the Mingjiao soldiers with the Five Elements Flags fought desperately to protect Mount Guangming, standing out prominently! “We can’t continue this fight!” “Let’s go!” “Just descend the mountain. Even the ruthless Master Mu Jue doesn’t step in. Do we really have to wait until all the Emei Sect disciples are dead?” After assessing the strength of the six major sects and the Mingjiao, many players expressed disappointment and decided to quit. These words inevitably reached the ears of Happy and the others… “What should we do?” Gu Feng cautiously approached Happy, lowering his voice anxiously, “Happy, if it’s true, we’re likely to become more and more passive as we go forward.” “Meet the enemy with force, and block water with earth,” Happy replied calmly, though his gaze drifted to the disciples beside Master Mu Jue.

Ding Minjun and Bei Jinyi may not have shown much in the TV, but they are quite skilled. In the recent battle, despite being injured, more than ten disciples of the Five Elements Flag were defeated by them alone. As for Zhou Zhiruo… her strength is on par with those two senior sisters, yet she didn’t sustain a single injury. Mo Mo stayed closely by Zhou Zhiruo’s side, her gaze meeting Happy’s in the air, tinged with frustration. During the battle, Mo Mo hardly harmed any of the Five Elements Flag disciples, staying by Zhou Zhiruo’s side to protect her, swiftly pushing away a few of them with her supernatural abilities to ensure she wasn’t hurt at all. It wasn’t until Happy approached that she finally breathed a sigh of relief. “Now, isn’t it time you told me why you’re protecting Zhou Zhiruo? Don’t tell me it’s because you’re attracted to her beauty and single status…” Mo Mo snorted lightly, staring into Happy’s eyes. The latter smiled gently: “You guessed it already, so why ask?” “I guessed it? You can’t be…” Mo Mo’s expression changed; she frowned and quickly lowered her voice, “What’s the deal? You taking on such a task? I think you haven’t thought this through.” “What else can I do? The system assigned me the task to protect a beautiful, talented woman who’s also an important plot character. Am I supposed to refuse?” Before Happy could finish speaking, Mo Mo rolled her eyes at him: “Of course you should refuse. Forget Song Qingshu—do you really plan to compete with Zhang Wuji for her? Those who interfere with the plot never end well, nor do they succeed. You might not even know how you die!” Though her words were cold, her underlying concern remained unchanged. “I know what I’m doing.” Happy smiled, “Zhang Wuji might not be easy to oppose, but he’s kind-hearted and never takes lives lightly. So, I’m not in danger for now. Don’t worry; I’ll handle things as they come.”
