Chapter 604: Destroying the Golden Body
Donald’s counterattack using the Kingdom of Icu was swift and decisive. Though forceful, it was justified by a higher cause, leaving no room for Sendel to exploit—truly commendable.
The Dawn Kingdom had little excuse even to launch a counterattack. After all, Icu was no longer in the chaotic state it once was, and its overt strength in the Main World likely paled in comparison to powerful alliances like Dalarn and its backers, the Celt and Sili United Kingdoms.
If they deployed most of their forces, they could indeed defeat their opponents and reclaim the Kiev region, but such an action would be counterproductive. Most of the kingdoms and other divine church forces in the Main World were not friendly toward them. Thus, the high ranks of the Dawn Church were instructed to harshly condemn Icu’s actions on the continent but took no real action for a long time after losing a major duchy’s territory.
It was only then that the people of Icu breathed a sigh of relief, unregretful for boarding Dalarn’s ship. Many even hoped that with Celt and its allied forces backing them, it might be possible to restore the glory of a century ago!
After the recovery of Kiev, Donald ordered most of his people to return to Dalarn, leaving only Kelthas along with two demi-god-level Apostles of Judgment to stay in Icu until reconstruction got on track.
As for the other Apostles of Judgment, they followed Donald’s orders, upholding the teachings of the Judgment Church as natural guardians, traveling across the continent to heal the wounds of nature and punishing those who disrupted its harmony!
With twelve demi-god-level powerhouses roaming the Main World, Donald’s secular strength became unprecedentedly powerful and stable—unmatched even by some mid-tier godly church organizations.
Although granting these twelve apostles demi-god powers greatly increased the consumption of his true divine energy, the costs were worth it. With the external power stolen from the orcs, he could easily afford these expenditures without depleting his own strength.
Thus, he no longer worried about the situation in the Main World. These days, he spent time in the Nodahill plane with his wife and children.
While his avatar immersed itself in family life, Donald’s true form and avatars were also busy.
After setting aside some Annihilation Crystals that might be needed in the future to enhance higher-tier divine artifacts, Donald prepared to incorporate them into the Whip of Order to strengthen its core and address its greatest weakness. As one of the key divine artifacts in the future, Donald attached great importance to the Whip of Order, as it had the potential to evolve into a higher-tier divine artifact. “To turn the Whip of Order into a true weapon capable of overcoming all gods, it must first evolve to the level of a higher-tier divine artifact!” Donald’s most powerful incarnation and his true self were both located beneath the temple at the core of the divine kingdom, ready to process the gains from this period. “Fortunately, the Whip of Order relies on the power of the Order Law. Although it’s not strong yet, it belongs to the same tier as the Space Law, which is one of the fundamental laws. Otherwise, there would be no good way to integrate the Annihilation Crystals!” The incarnation was tasked with integrating the Annihilation Crystals into the Whip of Order, a medium-tier divine artifact. However, the Annihilation Crystals were made of an unprecedentedly durable material; even with the help of a higher-tier divine artifact like the Book of Truth, only an extremely small portion could be refined, and it was uncertain how long it would take to complete the transformation. But with the assistance of the Order Law, one of the four fundamental laws, the integration of the Annihilation Crystals into the Whip of Order was accelerated by tens of thousands of times. Even so, according to Donald’s incarnation’s calculations, it would still take at least a hundred years to complete the integration—this was due to the limited amount of Annihilation Crystal material that a medium-tier divine artifact could incorporate. As for Fury of Nature, only with the power of the Book of Truth and the Book of Fate, two higher-tier divine artifacts, was it possible to integrate a small amount of Annihilation Crystal. After accounting for the amounts required for the Whip of Order and Fury of Nature, the remaining Annihilation Crystal was used up. Donald assigned his incarnation to handle the integration of the Annihilation Crystals into the Whip of Order, a process that would take around a hundred years—this was even after using the rules of the divine kingdom to speed up time; in external time, it would take about ten years. In other words, during these ten years, the incarnation would be tied up here and unable to do anything else. As for his true self, he turned his attention to studying the many gains from the battle in the void of the divine kingdom, with the giant centaur’s body being the most important among them.
After the three goddesses of Eilien each took three heads and three arms, the hundred-armed giant still had nine heads and twenty-one arms, though the arms were not in pairs. Donald took three of the arms aside for future use. The body of this hundred-armed giant, whose power was equivalent to that of a lower-tier god, was worth no less than the remains of an ordinary mid-tier god.
Thus, the hundred-armed giant now had nine heads and eighteen arms. If one didn’t look at its appearance, at first glance, this abominable body resembled the statues in temples from its past life!
“A statue? That’s a good idea!”
At this thought, Donald suddenly had an inspiration and came up with a great plan for what to do with this abominable body of the hundred-armed giant.
He spent about three months working in the temple with his true form, and eventually, the original hundred-armed giant disappeared. In its place stood a twenty-foot-tall dark golden statue in the temple.
The statue had smooth, aesthetically pleasing contours. It depicted a strong male figure with nine heads and eighteen arms, seated on a lotus-shaped diamond throne. It resembled a combination of a world-destroying demon god and a compassionate savior deity.
This was the true god puppet created by Donald using the abominable body of the hundred-armed giant, which he named the Destroyer Golden Body.
This Destroyer Golden Body puppet was akin to the golden bodies of Buddhist deities and the divine forms of immortals from its past life. Its design could easily be used to impersonate deities in temples on Earth—sure to draw attention!
Most importantly, although it was a puppet, it was also, in a way, alive. Apart from lacking a will of its own, it could be considered an immortal being without a soul or divine will.
By combining the souls and destructive powers of the Destroyer Giant Centipede and the Destroyer Sand Worm, along with the divine core derived from the incarnation of the Destroyer Monarch, Donald transformed and perfected it into a destroyer deity of mid-tier god status using the Laws of the Gods. He placed this divine core within the strongest head of the Destroyer Golden Body as its energy source.
This allowed the Destroyer Golden Body to release destructive flames that could burn everything, and its eyes emitted destructive rays capable of melting and annihilating even lower-tier divine artifacts, let alone the less durable mid-tier ones.
Most powerfully, since the Destroyer Golden Body was built using the abominable body of the hundred-armed giant, it possessed extraordinary resistance to divine forces. Even ordinary mid-tier divine artifacts paled in terms of durability compared to it—it was truly a killing machine.
After obtaining from Sphinx a series of traditions related to the Babylonian pantheon’s art of creating puppets, Donald could be considered one of the top three master-level figures in the multiverse solely based on his achievements in creating alchemical puppets. It was also possible for him to create independent puppet creatures like Sphinx.
However, unlike the war machines forged by ancient powerful gods, Donald did not endow this Destroyer Statue Puppet with a will of its own. He didn’t want to create a being akin to a divine abomination, so from the beginning, he ensured the puppet had no chance to rebel.
Although the lack of independent consciousness reduced the puppet’s combat strength by at least 30%, even at this reduced level, the Destroyer Statue Puppet was still strong enough to rival the bodies of ordinary mid-tier gods. This strength already satisfied Donald greatly!
Moreover, the puppet was designed to resemble those mythological avatars or the mechs in science fiction novels—entities that could serve as carriers for his consciousness or avatars, allowing him to control the puppet body in battle.
Thus, the presence or absence of a will was not important. With the Destroyer Statue Puppet, Donald now had a powerful avatar with the strength of a peak mid-tier god, something utterly unimaginable for ordinary true gods!
“It’s finally partially completed, but I still feel something is missing!”
Inside the temple, Donald’s true form and his two other avatars took time to observe the completed Destroyer Statue Puppet.
Hearing his true form’s words, the Demon Hunter avatar looked at the eighteen empty arms of the Destroyer Statue Puppet and said with a smile, “Though powerful, the Destroyer Statue Puppet is unarmed. Fighting head-on against an enemy’s divine weapon will cause wear and tear!”
“I wondered why it seemed off—turns out some weapons are missing!”
Since the avatars and the true form were one entity and in the same place, whatever one avatar thought, all of Donald’s avatars and true form thought at the same time!
So Donald immediately began counting the divine weapons and materials he had. In the end, he managed to gather six secondary divine weapons. Items like the Whip of Order, Fury of Nature, and Heart of the King were used by the avatars and the true form itself, so they couldn’t be given to the Destroyer Statue Puppet.
Six secondary divine weapons were far from enough for eighteen arms—there was still a significant shortage. Thus, Donald had to put aside his pride and ask Sphinx for ten more divine weapons.
Although the Sphinx had a vast collection, it was difficult for Donald to choose among those powerful artifacts. In the end, he selected only four minor artifacts and six secondary artifacts, which were sufficient to destroy the Golden Body puppet. Even secondary artifacts could be as effective in the hands of a powerful being as ordinary artifacts. Considering the combat form of the Golden Body, Donald mostly chose weapons with hard materials, along with some auxiliary artifacts to ensure he could handle unexpected situations. After all, aside from its strong close-combat abilities and durable physique, the Golden Body only had a few notable magical abilities such as the Destruction Ray and the Flame of Destruction. All these were based on the universe where the Sphinx resided. As a result, the Golden Body’s form after these preparations looked completely different from its normal state.
