Chapter 573: The First Battle of the Divine Kingdom
Moving Azeroth in the direction of the Nodahil plane, and with the connection via the World Tree’s main root, Donald easily halted the Divine Kingdom outside Nodahil, opening a passage for his three goddess avatars who guarded it, as well as the King of the North, Uther, and other key figures to enter.
It was the first time the three goddesses had entered Donald’s Divine Kingdom, Azeroth. Since they were guests, Donald had adjusted the rules of the kingdom so as not to suppress them too much.
Thus, after entering the kingdom, the three goddesses hardly felt any discomfort. Even if there was some pressure, it was negligible for beings of their strength.
Even a powerful higher deity like the Goddess of Magic couldn’t help but marvel at the size and strength of this Divine Kingdom.
“Donald, you truly are a genius true god who appears once in thousands of years. Not only did you gain multiple divine roles and form three major avatars at the beginning of your divinity, but you also created such a powerful Divine Kingdom. Even the kingdoms of some mid-tier deities probably can’t compare to Azeroth in terms of size and rule perfection, right?”
Donald humbly replied, “Princess Euliana, you flatter me. I’m merely fortunate to have benefited from the guidance of my predecessors and inherited some advantages, which allowed me to reach this level.”
To some extent, what Donald said was true. Without the existence of the High Divine Artifact, the Book of Truth, he wouldn’t have come to this world or achieved what he has today.
However, he didn’t explain what exactly those advantages were. The three goddesses assumed he was referring to the legacy of the Sky City and the Arcane Empire. If they had known he was talking about something as unimaginable as a High Divine Artifact, how astonished they would have been?
Several waves of low-level Void creatures invaded Donald’s Divine Kingdom—Void creatures, divine abominations, and other strange races. Aside from the low-level Void creatures, the lowest-tier beings capable of surviving in the Void realms were Silver-level. These creatures excelled at overwhelming opponents in numbers, while those above Gold-level were extremely rare, with each race usually having only one or two members.
The waves of Void creatures invading Donald’s kingdom were mostly low-level, below Bronze level, with only a few being Bronze or Silver-level. Yet, they posed no threat to Donald at all. The three goddesses, including the Goddess of Agriculture, didn’t even need to intervene; the rules of the Divine Kingdom alone sufficed to eliminate them.
The speed of movement within the divine kingdom and the void had already surpassed the flying capabilities of most demigods in the main world. Soon, under Donald’s control, Azeroth rose to the position originally agreed upon between Donald and the King of the Northlands—located at the edge of the Outer Realm, amidst the vast void near the realm of the Neutral Gods.
This place was desolate, with few natural realms, and it was relatively close to the barrier between the Outer Realm and the Star Realm. It was likely that many powerful void creatures or even divine abominations would exploit any gaps to launch surprise attacks.
“For a newly ascended god, establishing a divine kingdom here is undoubtedly a risky move!” said Eilwen, the Goddess of Agriculture, after seeing the location Donald had chosen.
“There must be risk to reap rewards, isn’t that right, Princess Eilwen?” Donald responded, showing understanding for the goddess’s concerns but remaining firm in his decision despite others’ opinions.
The Goddess of Magic, Juliana, saw this clearly and spoke up, “Eilwen, you’re overthinking it. I don’t think Donald is the kind of reckless person who acts without thinking first. He must have his reasons for choosing this place. And he’s right—even for us true gods, if we don’t strive for progress, we risk downfall. Only those who reach the level of the Supreme Gods might truly be free from such concerns!”
Hearing the Goddess of Magic’s words, Eilwen, who now understood, stopped trying to persuade him.
Meanwhile, the King of the Northlands laughed and said, “According to our previous agreement, whoever of me or Donald first rises to the status of a mid-tier god and holds the throne will have the other true gods join his pantheon. It seems I have no chance of winning this bet! Even creating a divine kingdom, I did it with Donald’s help. It will take years before I can reach that level of power. By then, at Donald’s usual rate of advancement, he’ll likely already be a mid-tier god.”
Everyone present agreed with him.
Eilwen even said astonishingly, “Even if one day Donald manages to catch up to me, I won’t be surprised at all!”
Donald remained humble in response. While he had come this far thanks to his own efforts, much of it was due to luck and chance. But without the Book of Truth, such opportunities would never have arisen. Thus, the Book of Truth was his greatest fortune.
Therefore, maintaining a calm attitude is highly beneficial for his progress—he certainly doesn’t want arrogance and pride to cloud his judgment and lead him to make foolish actions that could ruin his future!
When Donald positioned the Kingdom of Azeroth in a suitable location and removed the force holding it up, allowing it to merge with the space of the outer realms, a loud rumbling sound spread silently through the void. At that moment, all the true gods who had established kingdoms in the outer realms knew that another true god had successfully ascended to the throne and become one of them.
By convention, Donald should have sent his mind to the Pantheon to receive the congratulations of the gods. But just as they were about to set off, several powerful auras were rapidly approaching from outside the kingdom.
“I think we have guests!”
The three powerful goddesses had also sensed what was happening. The Goddess of Agriculture smiled and said, “Donald, you’re really lucky! Just as you cast your net, several big fish have already shown up!”
Eilien was referring to several powerful void creatures approaching from outside—mostly legendary or even more formidable ones. Indeed, such legendary void creatures were the easiest for a newly risen lower god to deal with; they wouldn’t require much effort, and there would still be significant rewards.
Donald waved his hand, conjuring a large screen in front of him that displayed the scene outside the kingdom. Everyone saw several massive figures gradually approaching the kingdom. After coming within dozens of miles, these figures split up and attacked from different directions.
Behind these giants, many more void creatures were flocking over. Clearly, they were lagging behind because they were slower than those giants, but their goal was clear—they must have sensed the presence of the Kingdom of Azeroth and were coming after Donald and his companions.
Taking advantage of the kingdom still being newly established and not yet fully stabilized, these void monsters, who loved to devour divinity, would seize the opportunity to attack. However, the presence of more than three legendary void creatures at once was quite rare even during the ascension of ordinary newly risen lower gods.
It was probably because Donald had established his kingdom in this desolate area near the edge of the outer realms! After all, this place was very close to the boundary between the outer realms and the interstellar void, meaning there were likely to be more powerful void creatures sneaking in.
