Chapter 553: The Future God of Cuisine
Not only did Donald not expect the arrival of the great Ignatius, but the other true gods and representatives of various factions present were even more shocked. The wedding officiant turned out to be the great Lord of Elves, one of the most powerful and ancient beings in the Pantheon. Aside from the Goddess of Night, the other true gods could all be considered descendants of the Lord of Elves. Moreover, given that this sovereign rarely appeared before other true gods yet possessed immense power, he could undoubtedly be regarded as the strongest among them!
Even the Lord of Dawn, who always claimed to be the strongest god of justice, though reluctant to admit it, could not be sure whether his own authority, status, or strength surpassed that of the Lord of Elves!
Under the auspices of this powerful being, Donald officially exchanged tokens of commitment with his two fiancées—wedding rings crafted by Donald from premium materials. Not only were they beautifully designed, but they also functioned as sub-legendary artifacts with strong protective and offensive capabilities. Since even the wedding tokens were of sub-legendary rank, it was clear that Donald, as a true god, possessed wealth far beyond that of ordinary lower gods!
However, after experiencing so many astonishing moments today, the guests present could no longer be surprised by anything.
With the wedding now officially complete, Catherine and Cornelia were now Donald’s legitimate wives and the masters of Dalaran. Catherine, dressed in an ice-silk court gown that gave her a mature and stunning appearance, and Cornelia, dressed in a mix of ladylike and hunter attire that made her look playful and delicate, both wore unmistakable expressions of happiness.
Polygamy was nothing unusual for true gods and powerful demigods—this was the case even among mortal nobles, let alone the true gods! It was actually rare for someone like Donald to have only two wives. Many true gods had at least a dozen official spouses, not to mention other lovers and concubines!
After dancing the first dance with each bride, the wedding came to an end, and it was time for the banquet to entertain the guests. Thanks to the efforts of the half-human chef Dobby, the delicacies that had been prepared in advance and preserved by Donald’s time-stopping magic were served to the guests as if they had just been baked.
Since these dishes were made from magical materials or even low-grade divine artifacts, each one had unique effects.
Considering that mortal guests needed some time to digest, Donald set the serving interval at twenty minutes per dish, giving them time to process what they ate. These dishes, desserts, and drinks, with their various effects, held little significance for beings above demi-gods; these powerful immortals valued above all the wonderful taste they offered! Twenty minutes was as brief as a single breath for true gods, providing them just enough time to savor the food slowly. “It seems Lord Donald has a fine chef!” After tasting a few dishes, Ashten, the god of knowledge known for his fair judgments, couldn’t help but praise them. The God of Darkness, Rops, nodded in agreement: “Indeed! I’ve only tasted food comparable to this at the banquets of the Fallen Monarch! Especially these drinks—they’re unique; I’ve never seen such varieties before!” The gods present were all grateful to have the chance to enjoy such delicacies at this wedding. The Fallen Monarch Grant was one of the few non-true gods in the multiverse capable of matching the power and status of higher gods. Though this pleasure-loving abyssal monarch was equally evil, his methods were not as extreme as those of the Destroyer Monarch Ostasius. Like the Fallen Monarch Matthews, Grant was an evil being of order, meaning he committed evil acts while adhering to his own principles and not acting recklessly without reason. This disciplined approach gave him a fairly good reputation among the neutral true gods—though only fairly! Abyssal monarchs were most famous for their strength and capricious nature. Only powerful higher gods like the God of Darkness, Rops, dared attend banquets hosted by the Fallen Monarch, who was one of the three great abyssal rulers. This was also why Rops was considered a neutral god—although their factions sometimes clashed or were incompatible, the lawful neutral true gods did not reject all evil and chaotic entities as absolutely as the lawful good gods did. If it were an extreme good god like the Lord of Dawn, not to mention attending the banquet, it would already be fortunate if they didn’t start fighting upon meeting! True gods below the rank of mid-tier gods in the neutral faction would also not attend the Fallen Monarch’s banquets. Even if invited, they wouldn’t dare venture into the abyssal plane. Being weaker, they had little chance of resisting Grant, let alone in the abyssal monarch’s lair, where they could exert power surpassing that of ordinary higher gods!
Only a powerful being like Ropes could be confident enough not to be betrayed by the Abyssal Lord. The banquet of the Fallen Monarch mentioned by Ropes was one that took place decades ago, and most of the true gods present had heard of it. It is said that the Fallen Monarch invited the true god of the race most skilled in cuisine—Prince Hak, the god of halfling illusions and thieves—to serve as head chef, and also brought in many renowned chefs from the main world and the lower realms to create what was said to be the grandest and most delicious banquet in a thousand years. The guests who were fortunate enough to attend spoke highly of it, and the opinion of a powerful being like the God of Darkness Ropes was especially affirmed by the gods. This shows that the food at Donald’s banquet has reached a certain standard! After tasting another dish, the God of Knowledge couldn’t help but ask Donald, who was sitting opposite the Elven Lord as the host: “Prince Donald, I wonder who the master chef of this banquet is. Could you ask him to come here?” “Of course!” Hearing this, Donald put down the utensils made of gold essence, gave an instruction to the servant beside him, and soon the servant returned with a young halfling who was less than three feet tall. Under the gazes of the gods seated above, Dobby, very nervous, stepped to the center and bowed to everyone. “Dobby greets all the lords!” The God of Knowledge smiled kindly and said, “Don’t be nervous. Are you the chef of this banquet? It’s rare to see a true god! It’s amazing that you can excel so much in cuisine even without being legendary. If you become a demi-god, it will be easy for you to become a true god with cuisine as your divine duty!” The praise from the God of Knowledge was widely agreed upon by the true gods and demi-gods present, greatly exciting Dobby, the halfling chef who was devoted to the world of cuisine. For him, having his culinary skills recognized by multiple true gods was undoubtedly more exciting than obtaining a dragon’s treasure! After the powerful true gods, including several higher gods, expressed their admiration, suddenly, a fluctuation in the laws arose, and a divine power began to gather within Dobby’s body. Though weak, it was indeed real. Seeing this, the true gods present couldn’t help but smile. “It seems that a true god in the field of cuisine may be born in the future!”
