Chapter 92: A Pretty Girl
“Hm.” Suddenly, a few people appearing ahead made Rod narrow his eyes slightly, a cold glint flashing by.
It was Niels—yes, he actually ran into this guy here, and he was with a few others, accompanied by several people who seemed to be guards.
The others didn’t seem to notice him; they were chatting and laughing with those around them as they walked in his direction.
Seeing that there were many of them, Rod hesitated for a moment before turning and heading into a crowded small shop, using the gap to observe the situation outside.
A gentleman waits ten years to take revenge, but sadly, he wasn’t a gentleman—he was a scoundrel who would take revenge anytime. Since he had encountered them, he would never miss this chance. No matter how many they had with them, if he could keep following them, he was sure they would eventually be separated.
Seeing them pass by and continue on, he quickly stepped out of the shop and, using the cover of the night market, slowly followed behind them.
Following them all the way, he arrived at a bustling area and saw them enter a grand building filled with lights, music, and dancing.
The flirtatious women standing at the entrance, dressed in flashy clothes with heavy makeup, made Rod smirk. Looking at the three glaring characters on the building—Xianghua Lou—he didn’t need to think much to know what kind of place it was.
The three of them went inside alone, while their guards were left outside.
“An opportunity!” He raised his eyebrows, smirked coldly, muttered to himself, then turned and headed in another direction.
…
“Oh, young master, you’ve come! We sisters haven’t seen you in ages. We missed you so much! Come on, let’s go in and sit down.” Upon returning to Xianghua Lou, as soon as he reached the entrance, one of the women grabbed him, speaking to him in a breathless tone that gave Rod chills.
“Damn it, it’s still a place that looks down on people!” He had left earlier not for some other reason but to change into new clothes—those he had bought at a high price in Qingfeng City but never worn.
Although he had never been to a place like this before, he still knew it was a place that looked down on people. With his current outfit, he probably wouldn’t even be allowed in!
And what did they mean by “haven’t seen you in ages”? Damn, if they could see him, that would be miraculous. He arrived in the capital yesterday and came here today. Did they have x-ray vision to know he was coming?
With a disdainful smirk, he broke free from the hands holding his sleeves and rudely squeezed the woman’s buttocks, marveling at their fullness and softness as he muttered, “Hehe… Not bad, girl. Old man’s going in first!” He hurriedly fled from those graspings and headed inside—time was of the essence; otherwise, it would be difficult to find Nils in such a large building. Amidst the flirtatious insults from the woman, Rod quickly entered the Flower Fragrance Pavilion, where a lively and luxurious scene unfolded. cursing the corruption around him, he looked around for the others. Soon, he spotted the three of them in a private room on the second floor. He quickly used the crowd as cover to approach them, nearly getting exposed several times by those flirtatious women, but fortunately, they didn’t notice at all—perhaps they never imagined they’d meet him here. Hiding in a corner and shooing away the women who tried to talk to him, he finally saw three women join the three men. They were truly enchanting; in fact, most of the women in the Flower Fragrance Pavilion were quite good-looking, but these three were top-notch. Seeing the three women, the three men gave each other understanding smiles. After some fiddling, they eagerly led their respective women to a room on the third floor. Rod hurriedly followed, but sadly, he was stopped by guards at the top of the stairs. As the group was about to disappear from sight, Rod grew anxious. Suddenly, he saw a woman passing by, grabbed her in his haste, ignoring her resistance, and, with the guards’ astonished looks, managed to make it to the third floor. “Hehe, handsome guy, you’re not here for fun, are you? Are you stalking someone or…?” At the last moment, he saw Nils enter a room in the corner with his own woman, and he finally breathed a sigh of relief—his time hadn’t been wasted. But then, a voice beside him made him pale. He quickly turned to look. Enchanting? Alluring? Flirtatious? None of those words could describe the woman before him. Yes, she had an air of charm and flirtation mixed with dignity and composure, lacking the heavy sense of debauchery found in other women. Yet she was undeniably alluring—not just alluring, but also spicy, with a hint of noble grace. It was hard to believe he’d meet such a woman here. She was beautiful, with a devilish figure, hair straight as a waterfall cascading down her back—very striking. A truly unique woman.
Looking at this woman around his own age, Rod was stunned for a moment before quickly shaking his head. He inwardly sighed at his own reaction, almost forgetting where he was and what he had come here to do.
“Cough, cough… No… I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to. Heh, that person is my brother. Well, he said we’d go out tonight, but he didn’t take me, so I followed. Please don’t tell him. Here, these coins are as compensation for you. I hope you can understand!”
Rod quickly took out ten gold coins and handed them to the woman, saying with a bitter smile.
Rod’s actions left the woman even more intrigued, as she showed a thoughtful smile. “Ten gold coins? Heh, you must be here for the first time. Don’t you know the prices around here? Ten gold coins here are only enough to tip the guards or doormen. The minimum spending inside is in the hundreds. For people like your ‘brother,’ it has to be at least ten amethyst coins!”
“Huh…” Hearing her words, Rod was astonished and his face twisted in frustration.
“Never mind. I’ll just help you this once. You owe me a favor. Well, I have to go now. It’s best if you don’t cause trouble here, or you’ll end up in trouble. Our boss is really fierce! Heh, actually, if it’s just a small trouble, I can help you out. I know those guards well; I can ask them to turn a blind eye!”
She smiled seductively at Rod with a deadly grin, then turned and walked away slowly, leaving Rod utterly confused. This woman was strange.
Without caring too much, he hurriedly headed toward Niels’ room, his mind racing as he thought about how to deal with that bastard Niels.
“Niels’ brother? Ridiculous. But he does seem interesting. Heh, what could he possibly do? I haven’t met someone like him in a long time. As long as he doesn’t go too far, just treat it like watching a show!” The moment Rod turned to leave, the woman who had just left stood at the top of the stairs on the third floor, glanced back at Rod’s retreating figure, and smiled to herself.
“Listen up, you all. If anything happens when you take it back to Room 1078 upstairs, as long as it’s not too loud, act like you didn’t hear or see anything, understand?” The woman walked over to the guards at the bottom of the stairs and spoke coldly. At this moment, her icy expression was completely different from before.
“Yes! Boss!” The guards, still shocked by what had just happened, didn’t see the expected outcome—no outburst from the boss, no tragic scene of that reckless guy. Instead, hearing those words, they were stunned and quickly replied.
The boss’s actions left them completely puzzled. They secretly sighed that the kid was lucky. Everyone in the empire knew who their boss was. To dare to insult and speak to him like that—if he hadn’t died, it could only be because his ancestors had accumulated virtue over eight generations.
Upon hearing the guards’ reply, the woman gave a bewitching smile that was stunningly beautiful, leaving the guards momentarily stunned.
“If you want to die, keep looking!” A cold shout instantly turned the guards’ faces pale. They quickly lowered their heads, not daring to look any longer. The consequences of the boss losing his temper would be severe.
Satisfied, the woman nodded and returned to the third floor. She entered a room and sat down at the table. In front of her lay a magic crystal the size of a brick. With a few operations, Rod’s figure appeared right inside it!
……
Meanwhile, Rod arrived at the door of the room where Nils was inside. Pretending to be indifferent, he looked around and saw no one else, so he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Hearing the heavy breathing and music coming from the surrounding rooms, along with the sensual atmosphere, he frowned. Struggling to find a way in, he saw a waiter passing by below and had an idea. He rushed upstairs, found a waiter, and after spending some gold coins, got a basin of fruits. With a cold laugh, he headed back upstairs.
This time, without any guards blocking him, he smoothly reached Nils’s room. Hearing the muffled sounds of laughter and scolding inside, he snorted and knocked on the door.
“Who is it? Don’t you know the master is busy? You stupid jerk!”
Immediately, Nils’s angry voice came from inside.
“Master, I’m here to deliver fruits. These are specially prepared for you by our store. Could you please open the door to receive them?”
Struggling to speak clearly, Rod used the simplest and crudest method to change his voice.
