Chapter 317: Lucy’s Breakthrough
After dispelling the extremely energy-consuming forbidden spell defense magic, “Nine Phoenixes Ascending,” Lucy stood there, panting heavily. Seeing that the thunderclouds in the sky had dissipated, Rod rushed to her side. She appeared pale, with her mouth slightly open as she took deep breaths. Clearly, the seemingly easy resistance had taken a heavy toll on her. Big drops of sweat streamed down her forehead, and tiny beads of sweat covered her nose tip, giving her a rosy complexion that made her look extremely beautiful. With her black hair sticking to her back, Lucy was undoubtedly the most beautiful woman she had ever seen!
“Big brother… what are you looking at?” Sensing Rod’s gaze, Lucy seemed to realize something, blushed, and said coyly. She felt as if Rod’s intense stare could see right through her heart, leaving her uncomfortable.
“Nothing, nothing! Hehe, you must be tired. Go and recover quickly to strengthen your realm!” At that moment, the valley was in chaos. The piles of bones, which were already unstable, turned to dust under the ravages of lightning. As the cold wind blew, the dust drifted around, causing the ground to sink and form a huge valley, surrounded by white bones.
“Mm, then I’ll strengthen my realm first!” Surviving the thunder calamity only meant entering this Yin-Yellow Realm level, but it was necessary to consolidate quickly. If anything went wrong now, she might fall back to the later stages of the Divine Realm, which would be a great loss. So, Lucy didn’t refuse Rod’s kindness.
Meanwhile, the death battlefield was silent. Many powerful magical beasts were staring in confusion toward the valley where Rod and Lucy were. The Yin-Yellow Thunder Calamity had appeared—this meant another powerful magical beast had been born. Who could it be? Why had it never been seen before? And that direction seemed to be the Valley of Wind, known as the Death Valley. Could there be some magical beasts there?
The magical beasts were in turmoil. Outside, several white giant wolves and one silver giant wolf also stared in confusion in that direction. One of the white wolves even showed a look of shock. Could it be…? Thinking of this, it quickly shook its head, seemingly unwilling to believe the reality.
“Andy, do you know anything?” But its actions were noticed by the silver wolf in the middle!
“No… I… I wonder who that guy in the Valley of the Wind who has reached the Yin Yellow Realm is. Could it be those two humans who were chased and fell down there over a month ago?” Taking a deep breath, the white wolf known as Andy said with a bitter smile.
“Those two troublemaking humans? They’re quite strong—one of them has already reached the Yin Yellow Realm, and the other is also at the advanced stage of the Divine level. It could be them!” Hearing Andy’s words, the stern-looking wolf frowned slightly.
“That’s impossible. There are no living beings in the Valley of the Wind—this is something we all know. If they fell down, they definitely wouldn’t have a chance of survival. It can’t be them, Andy. You’re overthinking it!” Another wolf king declared firmly.
“Alright, leave this matter to Andy. You go check that place these days and report back immediately if anything happens! You all get ready. Once we have enough members, it will be time to start our plan. Our wolf clan has remained silent for a thousand years—people must have forgotten us by now. It’s time to make them realize our existence!” After organizing the other wolf kings, the silver wolf spoke after a moment of contemplation.
“Yes!” Clearly, he was the leader here. The other white wolves replied respectfully, not daring to show any neglect, their eyes filled with utmost respect for him.
Watching Lucy train from afar and feeling the massive flow of fire elements into her body, Rod breathed a sigh of relief. Her rosy complexion indicated that her health was improving. After all, this thunderstorm hadn’t affected Lucy at all. Her pale complexion was only due to excessive magic energy consumption, and now that she had recovered, everything would be fine.
After what seemed like a long time, Rod finally felt the fluctuations in the elements cease. At the same time, Lucy slowly opened her eyes. At that moment, a sacred aura emanated from her, making Rod feel inferior. This aura spread throughout the Death Valley before retreating.
A faint smile appeared on Rod’s lips. She was as beautiful as a celestial being—such a woman should belong in the heavens, rarely seen in the mortal world. She shouldn’t be in a place like this at all, which filled Rod with emotion.
Immediately afterward, Rod felt that familiar sensation. The elements and various creatures around seemed to be worshipping in this direction, honoring the birth of their queen.
She had finally reached the Yin Yellow Realm. Lucy had officially become one of the powerful beings in that realm, a top-tier existence.
“Congratulations!” Taking a step forward and standing beside Lucy, Rod said sincerely.
“Brother Rod, you’re joking. Lucy can’t compare to you. I can’t even tell what your current strength is! Besides, everything Lucy has today is thanks to the family’s support and the help of the Nether Mountain Range. Everything you have was achieved through your own efforts. There’s a huge gap between us!” Hearing Rod’s words, Lucy gave a bitter smile before looking into the distance and speaking softly.
At that moment, Rod felt that Lucy had changed—she no longer seemed like the innocent girl she used to be. Her mind now held more thoughts and concerns; at least, she would never have said such things before.
“One must also be able to make use of what the family gives. Everything you have was earned by yourself. There’s no need to be modest. Well, since you’ve reached the Yin Huang realm, staying here won’t be effective anymore. Get ready. We’ll rest for one night and leave tomorrow for the God’s Lament Forbidden Land!” Rod said soothingly with a smile.
“Okay, we’ll set off tomorrow!” Lucy replied cheerfully.
Staying here any longer would only be a waste of time. The journey through the Death Battlefield could be considered over now—they had found the Nether Flower, even the King of Nether Flowers, and she had also broken through to the Yin Huang realm. It was a perfect outcome!
Next was to head to the God’s Lament Forbidden Land, located on the other side of the Death Battlefield. No one had ever managed to cross from here, and few had even set foot there. It was another realm on the continent—a place even more dangerous than the Source of Darkness, covered in mid-aged glaciers, extremely cold, and filled with eerie vibes.
The danger of the Death Battlefield was self-evident, and crossing it to reach the God’s Lament Forbidden Land was even more difficult, with slim chances. Fortunately, Lucy had reached the Yin Huang realm today, giving them a better chance—a chance to fight one more time.
If they wanted to find another route to the God’s Lament Forbidden Land, they would have to go around the Source of Darkness and enter through the continent. That would be a long journey taking too much time—something neither Rod nor Lucy could afford. Even at a fast pace, it would take a year or so.
But if they succeeded through the Death Battlefield, it would take less than a month to reach the God’s Lament Forbidden Land.
“It seems we need to find a new place to rest today!” Rod said with a bitter smile as he looked around. After the thunderstorm, the area had become ruins, adding to the gloomy atmosphere. Black mist swirled, along with a burning smell.
“Mm!” Looking around, Lucy blushed and spoke in a low voice.
Their familiarity with the Death Valley allowed them to quickly find a quiet spot.
It was already late; Lucy had just entered the dim yellow realm and needed some time to practice. Rod simply lay alone on a cleared rock.
Gazing up at the stars from beneath the valley, Rod felt as if he were in a well, like a frog in a well, able to see only a small patch of sky—no larger than the entrance to the valley. The towering cliffs that reached the sky were awe-inspiring, and climbing up would likely take some time. Whether it would be successful was what Rod worried most about. He didn’t tell Lucy any of this, not wanting her to worry too. He preferred to bear the pressure alone.
From here, only a few stars could be faintly seen, yet they were all brilliantly bright and dazzling.
“Big brother, what are you looking at?” Lucy asked softly as she walked over to Rod.
“Nothing much. Just enjoying the night sky. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a chance to watch it so quietly. Heh, I guess I won’t have much time for that in the future!” With a sigh, Rod rested his hands behind his head and spoke indifferently.
“Lucy will keep you company!” Smiling slightly, Lucy exhaled softly and lay down next to Rod.
A faint scent of virginity, unique to Lucy, reached Rod’s nose, making his heart warm. Turning his head, he saw that this little girl had grown up—no longer the innocent girl who knew nothing back then. Thoughts flooded Rod’s mind.
At that moment, Lucy seemed to sense something and suddenly turned to look at Rod. Their eyes met in the quiet space, surrounded only by the sound of the breeze. They just stared at each other, their gazes locked.
Slowly, as if pulled by some force, the two drew closer. Their breathing became heavier.
Attraction between the opposite sexes took hold, and their heads gradually touched. Soon, they felt their lips becoming moist. The world seemed to spin as Lucy smelled that familiar scent, and Rod inhaled that delicate fragrance. Their lips intertwined without them realizing it.
“Ah…” In the next moment, both of them felt as if they had been shocked. Lucy let out a scream and quickly stepped back, while Rod also snapped out of his daze, a hint of panic in his eyes. He sat up and looked at Lucy, taking deep breaths.
