Chapter 164: Two Bald Heads

In the blink of an eye, the group arrived in the hall. Seeing those two familiar figures, Rod moved slightly, positioning himself behind Sognar’s towering frame.
“Hehe, a friend from the demon race has arrived too! Welcome, welcome!” said the Grand Elder, speaking politely.
“You old fellow are getting younger by the day!” came a loud laugh from an old man standing beside the two princesses. He was dressed in black, his emaciated body giving him an appearance of extreme old age, as if he might die at any moment. His eyes were lifeless, devoid of any color or expression.
“And you two—seems you’ve grown quite a bit over the years. Not bad, not bad. I guess I can’t compare to you now!” Turning to look at the two elders of the Black Phoenix clan beside Lucy, the old man continued.
“Please, don’t flatter me. How could we compare to you? It seems you’ve made some progress again, haven’t you? Reached that level? How enviable!” The Dragon Clan’s Grand Elder added, unbothered by the old man’s tone. It seemed these people were old acquaintances; the Light Clan was quite nice.
Chatting and laughing, they soon entered the hall ready to take their seats. Rod, standing behind Sognar, was extremely nervous, taking careful steps to avoid being recognized. If not for Sognar blocking him, he would have already taken out the human skin mask from his pocket and put it on—there would be no need to worry here.
Rod rolled his eyes at Sognar and Lilith, who kept threatening and intimidating him. Those ungrateful fools actually planned to betray him. If not for his cleverness, who knew how many times he would have already been sold.
“Kid, tell me, what advantage can you offer me? If I’m not mistaken, you must have a piece of Colorful Glaze with you. Give it to me, and we can forget this matter, okay? I promise you won’t be discovered!” Looking at Rod, who was trembling behind him, Sognar finally extended his long-planned claw, smiling at him.
Yet that smile gave off an uncomfortable feeling no matter how you looked at it.
“You have Colorful Glaze!” When Lilith heard this from the other side, she was clearly shocked. Apparently, only Rod and Sognar knew about this. It was no wonder Lilith was unaware.

“Hey, Lilith, you have no idea—this kid has tons of valuable stuff. I’ve seen the Colorful Crystal in the Void Space, and it’s huge, even bigger than the two we have in our family. Who knows what other treasures he might have? What do you say, Rod? Why not take them out and share them?” Sognar raised his eyebrows, clearly intent on making Rod pay a heavy price, as he sneered. Thinking back to how that kid had used the Colorful Crystal as bait to steal so many of his treasures in the Void Space made his heart twist with anger, yet it also sparked his greed. The Colorful Crystal was something everyone would fight to get—he had decided he must retrieve it all, plus interest, today.

“Really? Heh, kid, what? It seems you’ve hidden quite a few things from me. You even have the Colorful Crystal? Not bad, not bad. You hid it well. Well, I’m not interested in it—it’s just one of the fragments of the Broken Divine Mirror. I’m not into that kind of thing. I heard you have quite a few other treasures. Give me half, and I’ll handle this for you today! Otherwise… heh, you know the consequences. Offending a woman is a foolish choice!” As soon as Lilith heard Sognar’s words, her eyes suddenly lit up like countless stars, making Rod feel uneasy.

“Cough, cough… um… I already gave you half of my stuff, right? I really don’t have any money left. Otherwise… I see you guys aren’t short of money either. Could you…?” With a pained expression, Rod glared fiercely at the smug Sognar, inwardly despising that greedy fellow.

“So you refuse! Well… Sognar, don’t be polite with me. This time, sister will support you!” Saying this, Lilith gave Sognar a sinister smile and waved her hand dismissively, her gaze falling on the graceful figures of Aida and Ely ahead, clearly displeased.

“Hahaha… What, such an important matter without waiting for my Scorpion King clan?” Just as Rod was about to reluctantly agree to pay, a burst of laughter sounded like heavenly music, bringing excitement to his face.

A sound of breaking air followed, and soon two figures rushed into the courtyard at high speed.

Two elders, each around sixty years old, were both bald, but they were completely different from the old man of the demon race—they were extremely strong and didn’t appear old at all. Even Rod doubted whether these two muscular men really were old men. Undoubtedly, these two must be high-ranking elders of the Scorpion King clan. Clearly, their arrival was also beyond everyone’s expectations. Everyone had already given up on the possibility that the Scorpion King clan would send someone here, so their appearance took everyone by surprise. “Old guys, it’s been a long time since we last met, right? About thirty years, huh? I didn’t expect that after such a long time, you all have made quite a progress!” Ignoring everyone’s expressions, the two stepped forward and spoke loudly, their voices as powerful as thunder, shaking people’s hearts! “They are two elders of the Scorpion King clan, extremely strong—among the top figures in the Dark Source!” Beside Rod, Lilith seemed to sense his confused gaze and explained privately. “Hahaha… Two bald guys, you really came after all. Not bad, not bad. It seems you’re in a hurry this time too!” The two elders of the Black Phoenix clan laughed heartily. “I think it’s you guys of the Black Phoenix clan who can’t stand it the most. We didn’t come for this matter. Heh, we came for this little guy.” With a roll of their eyes, showing no respect for the Black Phoenix clan at all, the two bald men approached Rod. Under Rod’s confused and wary gaze, they didn’t give him any chance to resist and pulled him out before he could understand what was happening. Horrified, Rod realized that in that instant, his entire body had been restrained, as if the entire space was sealed off, preventing him from moving. He could only watch helplessly as those seemingly ordinary claws pulled him out. The others were also full of confusion and shock. When Rod was pulled out, their expressions changed drastically, especially the dragons, who became extremely nervous. “Two old men, what do you want?” The dragon clan’s grand elder demanded first. “Let Brother Rod go, or don’t blame us if we become ruthless!” Lucy also shouted loudly. “Damn it, it’s this pervert! Sister, he’s still alive!” Eileen was shocked, rubbing her eyes in disbelief. Everyone found it hard to believe that someone who was thought to be dead was standing in front of them alive.

The old man from the demon race and the two elders of the Black Phoenix clan were both filled with shock and disbelief. They then turned their gaze to the eldest of the dragon clan, as if asking something. It was truly astonishing that someone had survived the God-Annihilating Thunder Tribulation.

“Cough, cough… Locke, Robby, what do you two brothers want?” The eldest of the dragon clan sighed and, mustering courage, stepped forward under everyone’s gaze to ask.

“Nothing much. It’s just surprising that this kid is still alive. If not for our people sensing his presence today, we really wouldn’t have noticed him, right? Kid, your human skin mask is pretty good, but it’s just a trick to cause trouble outside the arena. What do you think?” One of the bald men muttered to himself.

“Elders, what exactly do you want?” People from several surrounding clans had already encircled the two bald men and Rod, seemingly worried that something might happen suddenly, blocking any possible escape routes. Rod finally felt a little more relaxed and asked. He didn’t seem to have offended the Scorpion King’s clan—why would they target him? Did they know he had the Colorful Crystal, or did they really know he had killed one of their vassal clans’ elders?

“Don’t worry, everyone, relax. We’re not here to do anything. We just came to take a look. If nothing’s wrong with this kid, we’ll be fine. Hehe, go back to what you were doing! Don’t mind us, but we need to ask this kid a few questions!” The two men said indifferently, ignoring the crowd surrounding them.

“What questions? You two old guys, just spit it out. Don’t beat around the bush. I don’t think you’re the kind of people to do that!” The two elders of the Black Phoenix clan, prompted by Lucy, mustered courage to step forward and ask.

If it weren’t for the lady’s request, they would never have wanted to talk to these two freaks—two killers with strange temperaments. Probably no one in the Dark Source would want to offend them.

“What, any objections? I guess I haven’t disciplined you in a while, old man—now you’re feeling bold? How about we have a fight? I’m here today to take care of some business with this guy. Can you really stop us? More people bullying fewer, right?” The two bald men sneered and asked with a laugh, showing utter disdain, as if they didn’t take anyone in the room seriously at all. It’s unclear whether they were truly that strong or just good at talking.
