Chapter 160: Don’t Steal from Me
Faced with two shameless men forcing him to confess through combined pressure, Rod fought alone in this somewhat desolate hall. Under intense interrogation and scrutiny, he had no choice but to accept the so-called “benefit” of confessing to get a lighter sentence—thus revealing every detail of what had happened.
After Rod finished speaking, Lilith and Sognar stared at each other in disbelief. Clearly, his answers shocked them greatly.
“No way… You actually sneaked a peek at Aida taking a bath? Is that even possible?” Taking several deep breaths, Sognar grabbed Rod by the collar and shouted angrily. He thought to himself that it was unfair—someone like him could even see a beauty bathing, while he never got such a chance.
“Are you trying to trick us?” Lilith also stared at Rod in astonishment and pressed further.
“That’s exactly what happened. I told you you wouldn’t believe me! But sadly, that’s the truth! That day, I just happened to pass by and saw Princess Aida. I almost got killed on the spot. If not for my cleverness and divine favor, I might have died there already!” Rod said earnestly, shrugging his shoulders.
“You damned bastard! It must be a huge mistake that heaven didn’t strike you down. How could you even encounter such a thing? Idiot! If I had known, I would have come with you. I bet that girl has a great figure, right? Fair skin? Is her front part raised? Is her back arched? Did you drool? Describe what you saw right away!” Seeing Rod’s innocent expression, the two reluctantly believed his words. Immediately after, Sognar pressed for more details eagerly.
“Enough, you scumbag Sognar! Get over here. Don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to!” Kicking Sognar aside, Lilith stepped in front of Rod.
“Logically, if it really is as you say, your death should be what they want. Why would they help you? Is there anything else you haven’t told us?”
“I really haven’t!”
“Really?”
“I swear!”
“That’s strange. Could they have some other ulterior motives? No, that can’t be. The Nash family and the Purple Wing Thunder Eagles are very close to the war faction. They wouldn’t be stupid enough to offend them—after all, they can barely protect themselves right now.” After getting Rod’s confirmation, Lilith frowned and muttered to herself. The scene fell silent.
At this moment, Rod got a slight respite, cursing inwardly! He was also filled with confusion—what exactly was their motive? If Lucy was grateful, what about them?
“Damn it, could it be love at first sight? You saw her, then went back and swore you’d marry her only her—so you’re her fiancé. Now that she’s been killed, it’s only fair for you to avenge her, right? Hehe, kid, you’re really lucky. But let’s discuss how to divide them: you take your sister Ada, and leave the younger one to me, this old dragon. Think of me, Sognar—handsome, strong, loved by everyone, beautiful even in the Darkness Source, throughout the entire universe. That little girl won’t object, right?” Sognar leaned close to Rod, trying to persuade him.
His narcissistic attitude made Rod almost spit blood! He could barely resist throwing a punch at the guy. How had he not noticed such an arrogant and shameless person before?
“Stop joking, will you?” Rod said gloomily, looking at Sognar.
“Get lost! Do you really want to have everything for yourself? I’ll overlook Lucy—that poor girl has no luck. Now you want both sisters? That’s completely unfair! Good heavens, what kind of world is this? Did I, Sognar, do something to offend you? Why not kill this damned bastard!” After hearing Rod’s words, Sognar looked heartbroken, sighing loudly and complaining about the unfairness of the world. This reaction instantly livened up the atmosphere.
“I’ve got it, Sognar. Get out of the way, or don’t blame me if I become rude!” Suddenly, Lilith, who had remained silent until then, raised her head and stared at Rod with a captivating gaze. In one step, she rushed forward, threw Sognar aside, and said firmly, “Unless the opposition has allied with the neutrals—that’s the only possibility. Only then can they gain enough strength to oppose the war faction. Only then would they go so far as to openly turn against each other.”
“Impossible. If that’s true, then Rod is just a pawn, a fuse to ignite conflict between the opposition and the neutrals!” Sognar also stepped forward, his earlier playful expression gone, his face furrowed as he muttered to himself.
“Possible. Otherwise, there’s no explanation.” Lilith nodded, rarely agreeing with Sognar’s view.
“Damn it, that can’t be true! Does that mean Rod and I have lost all chance of having luck with women? Oh… Great God of Darkness, Great Dragon God, why treat your devout followers like this!” Sognar shouted exaggeratedly, spreading his arms and looking up at the sky.
“Sognar, keep it down!” Lilith was quite annoyed by his madness. Then she said softly, “We might get an answer tonight. The Black Phoenix clan and the others will arrive to discuss the alliance among the Purple-Winged Thunder Eagles. We can find out everything by then—just not whether the Scorpion King clan will show up. Let’s get ready!”
“That’s the only option. I hope those two beauties will choose to submit to me, the most handsome man in the universe, Sognar! Hahaha…” Hearing that the two beauties were coming, Sognar seemed to regain his confidence and laughed loudly.
“As for Rod, you’d better pay attention when it comes to the Black Phoenix clan. As you said, you owe favors to that little girl Lucy and even to the Black Phoenix clan. Your words could make a big difference. Maybe Lucy will really fall for you. Consider yourself lucky—take her if you need her!” With things settled, Lilith spoke in a rarely seen teasing tone.
“Ugh, I don’t have that kind of luck!” Rod quickly refused, looking upset.
“Hey, kid, don’t be ungrateful. Do you know what the five golden flowers in the Source of Darkness represent? Don’t you know Lucy is one of them? Do you realize how many people want to see her but never get the chance? How many want to win her favor? I bet every drop of urine they pee could form an ocean that would drown you!” Sognar said jealously, rolling his eyes. “Cherish it. I, Sognar, have no chance. It seems only those two princesses are suitable for me. Hehe, twin sisters! You better not steal them from me!”
“Cough cough… Whatever you say!” Rod was speechless about Sognar. The dragons really went crazy at the sight of beautiful women. Sognar’s behavior was way too obvious.
After that, the group seemed more harmonious. They talked about Rod’s recent experiences in the Source of Darkness, leaving Lilith and Sognar deeply embarrassed. All this time since arriving here, it had been nothing but chasing and being chased. They sighed, wondering if even the heavens were jealous of him, otherwise why was he constantly on the run?
Only Sognar dismissed it with disdain, secretly thinking that it wouldn’t hurt to have so many romantic encounters and be pursued—he was willing to take it. Rod and Lilith simply ignored Sognar’s attitude with rolled eyes.
As for Lilith and Sognar, after returning to the Dragon Clan, nothing significant happened; there were no family inquiries as expected! According to them, thanks to Lord Gary’s intervention, they were quickly accepted. As for the Void Space, another group from the family was sent to guard it. The group was thus relieved.
Sognar was quite lucky. After returning to the Dragon Clan’s habitat, he might have slept in the Void Space for a thousand years. The strength accumulated in his body allowed him to make a breakthrough the very next day. Unsurprisingly, after the breakthrough, he immediately reached the upper stage of the divine realm and uncovered the danger of the Dragon Soul being imprisoned. It could be considered divine favor—what he called the grace of the Great Dark God and the Dragon God.
After learning the whole story, the Dragon Clan roughly agreed to it. With Lord Gary’s strong endorsement and praise, Rod was recognized by the Dragon Clan and offered their help.
Now, everything was ready except for one thing—reaching the middle stage of the divine realm. Once he did, he could immediately gather his men and head to the Netherworld. At the thought of this, Rod’s heart pounded wildly. He was finally about to uncover the mystery of his origins and meet his father for the first time. How could he not be happy? Maybe he could even find out where that damned old man was!
Who knew if that old bastard was still alive in the world? Maybe he was waiting for Rod’s arrival in the Source of Darkness. By then, everything would be revealed. Not to mention, even Brother Hori’s mysterious organization would be made clear.
“The three-year agreement is coming up soon. I wonder how Nightingale and the others are doing?” Thinking of Nightingale and the others, a faint smile of relief appeared on Rod’s face as he murmured to himself.
That mysterious organization must still be struggling because of his sudden disappearance. Would they worry about him if they found out? With a hint of concern on his face, Rod thought to himself, feeling a bit heavy-hearted. He might not be able to return in the short term, so he needed to find a way to inform them so they wouldn’t worry!
Otherwise, once the three-year agreement expired and they found him missing, who knew what those already arrogant and unrestrained guys would do? They might even go to extremes.
