Volume 3

Chapter 1: It’s Your Turn!
Rod’s fierce aura was so intense that even the two werewolves across from him could feel it clearly, causing their movements to hesitate slightly. The sheer power of his aura made them feel a hint of fear. Werewolves were known to be more bloodthirsty than vampires, more savage than magical beasts—nothing could scare them. Claiming to be descendants of the Wolf God, they inherited the brutality and courage of wolves and felt no fear toward anything. But this time, they had to admit they truly felt an unprecedented sense of fear and worry.

As a noble of the Silver Wolf clan, Edgar had never experienced such fear before. He had always been the one to instill fear in others, the one to see that expression on their faces. Gritting his teeth and gripping his weapon tightly, he let out a loud cry to boost his morale before charging forward again with a furrowed brow.

Yet, that moment of hesitation cost him a step. As he charged at full speed, Rod had already reached them! His “Heaven-Shattering” technique was unleashed, shaking the entire world in an instant. Everything seemed to dim, leaving only the intense glow from the purple-black long sword in his hand. It seemed as though this eerie light covered the entire world.

Amidst the chaotic battlefield, Rod appeared like a demon from the netherworld, exuding a sinister and eerie aura. Seeing him like this again, Nightingale’s expression became complex as she stopped in her tracks. This was the second time she had seen him like this—last time in that forest, where he had brought unimaginable shock and terror to them all. And now? He seemed even more powerful than before.

The long sword swung down, but without the expected fierce momentum. Suddenly, everything became quiet. Its trajectory lost its terrifying speed, and it seemed to lack force.

“Lack of stamina!” That was the thought that crossed everyone’s mind as they watched this scene, their faces turning dark in alarm. In their eyes, Rod had clearly rushed too fast earlier, exhausting much of his energy and combat spirit on speed and momentum. By the critical moment, he showed signs of lacking stamina, which explained why his movements suddenly slowed down and he appeared weak.

“Head!” Curly Hair was the first to shout out in panic. Such a situation was completely beyond everyone’s expectations. Facing two werewolves at a critical moment of life and death, encountering such a deadly problem wasn’t it seeking death? As for them, being here, it was impossible to go forward and rescue him—after all, help from afar couldn’t save someone in immediate danger!

Just like Curly Hair, everyone’s heart was in their throats. They clenched their fists and watched the situation intently, praying silently for Rod. The soldiers and warriors who were a bit closer even started rushing toward him, hoping to save his life and pull him out of danger.

“Hmph, lowly humans, die!” Seeing Rod’s condition, the two werewolves’ previous behavior vanished instantly. A look of excitement and triumph appeared on their faces as they exerted force with their hands, their crescent knives carrying a chilling murderous intent as they rushed toward Rod’s head.

The sharp blade energy spread recklessly in all directions, with a howling momentum, tracing a brilliant arc. The white light cut through the dark night sky, seemingly illuminating the entire city. With purple combat energy flowing through them, they stretched out their long fangs, like venomous snakes targeting prey, continuously spitting out their deadly venom.

Under such circumstances, Rod’s situation was extremely precarious. Avoiding the attack was utterly impossible. Amidst the enemy’s fierce assault, everyone cried out in shock—everyone could imagine what would happen next!

“That werewolf is going to die!” Perhaps the only person at the scene who wasn’t worried about Rod was Nightingale. He stood calmly in place, staring solemnly at Rod and the werewolves ahead. While everyone else was anxious, he simply smirked coldly and muttered to himself.

“What’s going on?” Her words were heard by Curly Hair beside her. He turned to look at Nightingale in confusion and asked.

“See for yourself!” Nightingale didn’t give any explanation in response to Curly Hair’s question, only saying that lightly.

Nightingale’s words seemed to ease Curly Hair’s worries a bit. He turned to look at the extremely critical situation ahead, anxiously waiting for Rod to act!

……

With his eyes narrowed, Rod watched the knife rushing toward him, a playful smile appearing on his lips.

Seeing the strange expression on the human across from him at such a critical moment, the werewolf’s heart skipped a beat as he sensed trouble. Meanwhile, Rod showed no signs of nervousness or concern, while everyone else stared at him with serious expressions, worried about the situation. Amidst the cries of alarm and concerned looks, Rod suddenly surged forward—his once weak sword becoming fierce once again, returning to its previous state. Without turning to dodge the opponent’s attack, he smirked coldly, stepped forward swiftly, and sent a blast of dark dragon energy forward with a howling force. His expression changed drastically; indeed, as he had suspected, all of that human’s previous behavior had been a deception. The werewolf in front of him cried out in alarm—the purple-black sword was already before him, its icy killing intent enveloping him as if he were trapped. It was only then that the werewolf realized all his escape routes had been sealed in an instant, with nowhere to flee. It seemed that any move he made would result in death from that sword, with every path filled with danger. Looking at the adults around him, he let out a desperate howl, seemingly seeking help, but he was hopeless—no one could save him. The adults were already surrounded by skilled humans in a fierce battle, with no time to pay attention to him. As for those damned vampires, they had long disappeared, as if vanished! In such a situation, he was utterly desperate. With a roar of defiance, he reluctantly withdrew his attack and raised his sword in front of him, hoping to ward off this deadly crisis. “Overestimating yourself!” Rod muttered lightly at the werewolf’s actions. Just an imperial-level werewolf—nothing worth mentioning. At least under the current circumstances, he wouldn’t even consider his defenses. With another roar, he exerted more force; the dark dragon turned into a streak of black light and vanished into the sky. The power of his sword erupted fully at that moment, with the dark dragon surging forward like a long serpent. A clear ringing sound followed by a dull thud! The situation seemed to freeze—both men stopped moving, standing still. After that sudden outburst, only silence and stillness remained.

When the figures of the two reappeared and they looked ahead, the scene before their eyes left them utterly stunned.
Ding… Another clear sound came as the bright long sword in the werewolf’s hand broke into two pieces; one end fell to the ground and bounced back, emitting a crisp sound!
The two stood motionless like statues, which was why everyone was shocked beyond belief. Rod stood there proudly, holding his Dark Dragon sword, with his back turned to the werewolf! The werewolf, on the other hand, stood there in terror, staring ahead with fear and shock, his body trembling slightly as if he had witnessed something unprecedented. Everything changed so suddenly and eerily that no one knew what was going on! The events that had taken place in an instant were too fast for most people to see clearly, and those who did see it were frozen in place, mouths agape, unable to speak, filled only with utter shock.
Pfft… Suddenly, a muffled sound was heard. Under everyone’s gaze, the werewolf suddenly opened his mouth and spat out a mouthful of blood.
Immediately afterward, a terrifying wound appeared on his throat, from which bright red blood flowed rapidly—seemingly not terrifying at all.
“You… you… why…” With difficulty, he turned his head and raised a trembling finger toward Rod, asking in a defiant tone, seemingly wanting to understand what had happened. He was unwilling to accept it, unable to comprehend why such a sudden change had occurred.
He had clearly had the upper hand before—having seen this human weak and helpless, and having secured an absolute advantage, ready to kill this detestable human and achieve great glory. But at that critical moment, an unexpected and sudden change occurred. It happened so fast that he didn’t even have time to see or understand it. All he felt was a blur before his eyes as the human passed by him, followed by a gentle sensation on his throat… and then…
“Boom…” He never got a reply from Rod. He fell backward vertically, landing on the ground with his eyes wide open, still in the same questioning posture, before losing his life force in defiance!

Looking back at the werewolf on the ground, whose appearance was gradually reverting to that of a normal human just before death, with all the fur seemingly disappearing as if by magic, Rod smirked coldly. Without paying further attention, he turned his gaze toward the Saint-level warrior who was surrounded and fighting fiercely against several warriors. “It’s your turn next!” With a cold snort, Dark Dragon raised its head, and Rod stepped forward with agile strides toward another werewolf.
