Chapter 52: True Hero
Dorgi glanced at Zhanza at a disdainful look, as if he were looking at a bug. By now, he had a pretty clear idea of what kind of person Zhanza was. In the Codim tribe, such a person would be sentenced to a brutal punishment—cutting them apart over three days and nights before allowing them to die.
“Sir, though my life is worthless, staying here has two major advantages,” Zhanza said. His ability to read others’ expressions and his eloquent tongue were no less impressive than those of the human envoy who had once served the Bone Clan in Watzburg. It wasn’t difficult to understand Codim’s thoughts, as those emotions were always clearly reflected on his face.
“Is that so? Two advantages?”
“Yes, sir. First, if you don’t kill me and accept my surrender, this battle will end in your victory, with no further complications. Second, I can introduce you to my great master, Lord Black Knight Fad. If you come to Monstok in search of wealth and treasures, I believe cooperating with us will yield even greater rewards.”
“Hahaha!” Dorgi laughed loudly, leaving Zhanza puzzled. “Is what I said so funny? Is this guy too stupid to understand me?”
Just as Zhanza was thinking about how to express his thoughts more clearly, Dorgi suddenly swung his long-handled battle axe. With a loud crack, the great sword Zhanza was holding was split in two.
Dorgi said arrogantly, “First, our Tanshi tribe doesn’t need to claim such an ignoble victory. Second, the price your master offers might not even be higher than what they’re willing to pay.” He pointed his axe at the humans from the opposing migration group. “Do you really think I don’t understand the principles of a truce? You wretched and weak liar—you’re just trying to save your own life, huh!”
Zhanza was shocked, then exclaimed loudly, “I never expected it! I truly never thought! Among the Codim, there’s a leader as wise and insightful as you! The unification and revival of the Codim tribe must rest on your shoulders! It’s amazing! It’s beyond belief! You’re the legendary great genius that appears once in ten thousand years!”
Such nauseatingly flattering words, if spoken by someone else, would likely have made Dorgi slice them in half before they could finish speaking. But Zhanza didn’t—his acting was too convincing. What set him apart from other actors was his ability to deceive even himself. As he spoke, his expressions and body language weren’t superficial pretenses but genuine, full-hearted devotion. Dorgi knew Zhanza was flattery, yet he was deeply moved by his emotions. “Tsk tsk! A strong man… an unconventional strong man! And your Standard language with a Monstok accent is quite fluent, hahaha!”
And so, Zhanza obtained what he considered the best possible safety and freedom. In reality, however, his status among the Tanshi people was even lower than that of slave craftsmen. Dorgi was willing to accept him because he was a valuable asset, especially for the Black Scorpion Mercenary Group.
The shameless behavior of Zhan Ga in the battlefield was undoubtedly the greatest humiliation for everyone in the migration group. Many were furious, even more regretted their actions, some cried bitterly over the downfall of their ideal heroes in such a manner, and there were those who remained obstinate, refusing to accept the facts before them or admit their mistake in judging people, and loudly defended Zhan Ga in their excitement…
As a philosopher once said: When peace of mind is absent, reason follows.
What was originally intended to make those obstinate people see the reality quickly turned into arguments, after which terms like “degenerates” and “traitors” appeared. It then evolved into the townspeople of Mathuya and Watzburg questioning the Thuresians, “Is this the savior you worship and elect? A dark agent?”
The Thuresians, already feeling oppressed, could no longer hold back. “What’s wrong with us Thuresians? Without us, you would have long become ghosts or slaves!”
The issue escalated, giving rise to the bad habit of arguing and exposing each other’s flaws. No one is perfect, and there are always things to pick on. The conflict intensified, with mutual accusations, eventually even leading to threats of violence.
At this point, Ebute had to lead his guards to restore order, ignoring all considerations of dignity and face.
Xavier watched the chaos and sighed inwardly. The people were unorganized, undisciplined, and lacked a clear shared belief. Their morale was volatile; faced with setbacks, they would panic and blame each other. No matter how many they were, they were nothing but a disorganized mob that could collapse at the slightest provocation. Leading such a group to break through heavy blockades was extremely difficult.
By this time, Doji had already brought Zhan Ga back to their camp. Seeing the chaos on the migration group’s side, he said to Tamro, “Look at these humans. They’re only fit to create wealth under the threat of whips and death.”
Tamro smiled silently. “Mr. Pirother, how do you see this issue?”
Pirother lowered his head and said, “I don’t know if you’d like to hear the truth or flattery.”
“The truth! I just want to hear your opinion and see if it makes sense. If not, it proves you’re trying to impress people. I’ll cut off one of your arms as punishment.”
When it came to verbal debates, Pirother was always bold. He replied calmly, “The truth is that ‘freedom’ has brought both advantages and disadvantages to the Frey Alliance. On the positive side, the people’s enthusiasm for work is unprecedented, and the economy and productivity are highly efficient. Their civilian technologies excel in various fields, which is the fundamental reason behind the Frey Alliance’s growing strength. The downside is that they act independently, are disorganized, lack faith, are cowardly, and selfish. In the Holy Order Kingdom, 3,000 humans would be fully armed from the start and launch a full-scale attack on you. If humans are worthless, then how did they manage to occupy the most fertile lands in the Aemera continent?”
Tamro nodded. “Well said.” He turned to Doji and said, “We have full confidence in ourselves, but we never underestimate our enemies. What do you think?”
“Hmm!” Doji grunted heavily. After thinking for a while, he said, “Anyway, we’re sure to win today.”
“The dust hasn’t settled yet—it’s too early to say that. But one thing is certain: we won’t lose today, no matter what.” Dogim said, giving orders to his subordinates, “Go ahead, welcome Mr. Pirother properly—he’s an important guest of ours.”
Zagan took a deep breath; this Tamro seemed more talkable now. He had been worried earlier that Dogim might kill him right there! But soon, Zagan realized he had been wrong to think Tamro was easy to talk to—he was greatly underestimating him. A few human-beasts came up and tied him up while he wasn’t looking.
“What are you doing? Is this how you treat guests?” Zagan shouted in fury.
“That’s right. For some reason, our guests always try to seek their own deaths. So… this is for your own good!” As Tamro spoke, Zagan’s mouth was already tied shut—now he couldn’t even commit suicide.
Dogim laughed from the side, “You now look as cunning as those humans…”
After this farce, the Sandstone human-beasts generously agreed to let the third duel be retried. In fact, they had already guessed that the migration group formed by refugees didn’t have any strong fighters to send.
The chaos on the migration group’s side had been barely suppressed. Hearing the promise from the Sandstone human-beasts, the people were both happy and sad. The proud humans, who used to look down on other tribes who lived a barbaric life, now needed those very people to grant them a chance. Yet even if they got a chance, they had no way of seizing it. Would they have to bear the label of traitors? Yes—there was no loyalty to speak of with beast-like invaders. Though this reason sounded noble, with more than half of the population being the old, weak, women, and children, how could they possibly win against human-beasts who were battle-hardened and fully armed?
“A tragedy! Our existence is a tragedy. We trusted the wrong people, followed the wrong path. An incompetent government, an incompetent army, incompetent people ruling the entire country. The Glorious Church took its followers away at the beginning of the disaster. Now, nearly a month has passed—by now, even if they were crawling, the army should have arrived. Even if they used hot air balloons, they should have fully surveyed the entire territory. Nothing. Those in power only care about collecting taxes—they don’t care about our lives at all. Duke Ensbas, I curse your father!” A refugee in his 40s screamed into the sky, tears streaming down his face.
Seeing no hope of survival, the pent-up resentment finally erupted. When the first person shouted out his anger, the hatred of the others also found an outlet. As curses and insults toward the king were uttered in grief, it showed that the people’s long-held support and reverence for the king and the regime had vanished—they no longer held any hope or illusions, and they were abandoned, leading to their own abandonment.
By the time things reached this stage, even the Grand Duke of Ensbass and many rulers of the Frey Alliance had not realized that the true disaster came not only from the enemy but also from the people—the very foundation of the alliance. To them, it would have been better if all the people of Erdrit Domain had died out, as dead people could not make so-called cries of grievance. Yet enough people survived to become credible witnesses or spread the truth far and wide. Coupled with the incitement of revolutionaries and other nations or organizations revealing even darker secrets, this ultimately led to a political storm that swept across the entire alliance, known as the “Trust Crisis” incident.
Now, many of those who contributed to this incident are facing the peril of being reduced to slave labor on the edge of the forest in the southeastern corner of Erdrit Domain, while the true heroes finally step forward.
At that time, Xavier was considering whether to drink the vial that could grant him great power—the “Awakening Agent.” Xavier was a smart man, and smart people generally understood that there’s no such thing as a free lunch. This Awakening Agent wasn’t just a meal; it was a feast, so Xavier needed to think carefully before acting.
Dodge stepped in again, and the Pebblebeast creatures began to chant in unison, leaving Xavier with no choice left. Then, a familiar voice that excited him rang out: “Let me take care of this round.”
“Neo, thank goodness you’re back! We’ve all been waiting day and night for your return!” Xavier didn’t question whether Neo’s strength was enough to win; instead, he motivated Neo to give it his all, just as he had done with Valentina.
Perhaps because Xavier usually remained serious and never said kind words, his slightly emotional remark at this moment truly moved Neo. Xavier had many qualities that Neo admired, which improved Neo’s overall perception of him. Moreover, Neo hoped to maintain a more tolerant relationship with Xavier rather than make things too strained, so as not to put Melian in an awkward position. For this reason, he had asked Melian many details about Xavier in their private conversations, such as any language taboos or favorite foods.
What Neo didn’t know was that ever since Xavier learned about Neo and Melian’s relationship, his attitude toward Neo completely changed—without any chance of reversal. In short: No matter how strong Neo was, he wasn’t worthy of marrying his daughter!
Still, Xavier admitted that he relied heavily on Neo, especially in these chaotic times. Neo’s intelligence, survival skills, and even his luck had a huge impact on those around him. Without Neo’s help, neither he nor his son would have survived in Thures, let alone gathered and led refugees or accomplished the feat of migrating eastward on foot.
This was no longer just a life-saving act; it also held a tremendous opportunity. Xavier was confident that if they could accomplish this great eastward migration, he would become the sole highlight of the entire Erdrite region, and the Manmoris family’s reputation would spread throughout the principality and even the entire alliance. He didn’t quite agree with Neo’s plan to persuade Dave to join the Church of Light, but he did agree with one element Neo mentioned—reputation, which is crucial for those in power. In a sense, this eastward migration was indeed an investment in reputation, and such an opportunity was absolutely rare. The Manmoris family would become highly sought after due to their good reputation! At the thought of this, Xavier’s heart raced. Even if it meant treating Neo harshly, he would still find it sweet to do so.
“Neo, I must say that everyone who migrates east owes you a debt of gratitude. I’m personally convinced that you’ll be able to continue writing this legend.” Despite Neo appearing ragged and exhausted, Xavier still chose to trust him fully. He knew this young man well and had high hopes for his abilities in his field. When the young man’s eyes shone with firm confidence, saying he could kill a pure-blooded dragon, Xavier believed him—such miraculous skills he indeed possessed!
Dodge, who was in the area, saw Neo walking slowly toward him and couldn’t help but smile. He saw too many similarities between Neo and the previous one who had settled there—both showing only around level 4 strength, both being adored by the humans in the migration group, both approaching calmly and steadily. The difference was that the previous one pretended to be ordinary, while this one pretended to be weathered, dressed in battle gear that was either torn or bloodstained, and even more astonishingly, this one wasn’t carrying a weapon!
Neo looked calmly at this human-beast before him—young, strong, and formidable. It couldn’t be much older than him but was already a level 10 warrior. Whether through its own efforts or divine favor, its existence proved one thing: this world was full of strong beings, and miracles were never lacking!
“What do you plan to do? Surrender gracefully like your predecessor? Or give me a special surprise, like transforming into a werewolf and possibly gaining combat abilities? That might be the only thing that interests me a bit.” Dodge truly despised Neo. He felt he was already being generous by not saying things like, “Your presence is an insult to a strong being like me.”
To Dodge’s contempt and provocation, Neo didn’t react at all. Until now, he was still reflecting on the fierce battle he had fought against the Eternal Night Warrior Gorton in the waterways of Wurtzburg. In that battle, he had almost been killed, but he also gained a lot. The most direct result was that from now on, his wolf transformation was no longer restricted by time—he could do it whenever he wanted!
Neo’s original mane was blue, but ever since dark power became his core strength, the blue mane was replaced by one that was deep blue with a gem-like sheen, resembling the color of the night when the stars of Aemera shone brightly.
“Haha, fur has grown! It’s transformed! Speaking of which, you werewolves are really a strange race—instead of staying in the free wilds, you act as dogs for humans, wearing that fur, looking utterly bizarre!”
But Tamro, who was observing the transformation, noticed something different about Neo’s transformation. Ordinary werewolves’ transformations were extremely violent—their manes grew wildly, muscles writhed violently, and the transformers themselves were 70% insane and 30% in pain, reminiscent of berserkers in a fit of rage. Neo was different; his mane grew in a highly orderly manner amid waves of muscle contractions, which resembled water flowing beneath the skin, continuous without pause. Most importantly, Neo’s eyes remained calm, unchanged from before the transformation.
“Dodge, be careful—this werewolf is special!” Tamro warned Dodge in Kodim’s native language.
“Mm, it’s indeed special. Its fur is quite good. I think it would make a fine trophy!” Dodge said the first part in the native language and the second in the common language. He wanted to provoke his opponent to engage in a fight like the one between Valentina and Tamro before. It was said that the fur of werewolves killed in fierce battles would acquire a lasting luster. If that were the case, he would have fur as precious as sapphires.
Dodge indeed intended to kill Neo and take his fur. After all, as long as he won, those over 3,000 humans would become slaves of thethe Slantri tribe. With complete control over life and death, why not act as he pleased? What did it matter if a few people died?
“Hehe, don’t worry. I’ll end this quickly. I don’t want that rotten fur!” Dodge said, gripping his battle axe and revealing the triangular pyramid at its long handle. Golden light pulsed on the pyramid—his combat energy attribute was Earth, already highly refined. Dodge planned to use this pyramid to pierce Neo’s throat and destroy the central nerves near his spine.
However, Dodge noticed that Neo wasn’t even looking at him but was muttering to himself, as if praying or talking to someone.
In fact, it was similar—Thorn, Spine, Nancy, and the Ice Spirit all opposed his use of the forbidden dark magic again. “Using it again, we’re worried you’ll lose control.”
“Don’t worry. I’m still pretty confident. I won’t be reckless.” Neo wasn’t lying. To defeat a strong opponent like Dodge, he indeed needed the forbidden power, but he was over 50% sure he could keep himself in control and avoid being corrupted by the dark magic. “As long as I end the fight quickly, there’s no problem!” Neo had already planned a series of moves. As long as he initiated the attack first, he was absolutely confident he could drive Dodge to his doom in one go.
The gong marking the start of the duel rang. Dodge focused his mind, staring coldly at Neo. As a strong warrior raised in the wilderness, he still had a basic fighting mindset.
Outside the battlefield, whether it was thethe Slantri tribe or the people of the migration group, everyone was watching this decisive fight. A one-on-one duel like this wasn’t as prolonged as a play; it usually lasted no more than fifteen minutes. This made the onlookers instinctively concentrate, even holding their breath.
Nio’s pair of terrifyingly sharp fangs gleamed with a crystal-clear luster, a sight that moved Dorgi somewhat. Crystal represented the power of combined attributes, and with such power at its disposal, Nio’s claws truly deserved to be compared to his long-handled battle axe as weapons.
“It’s quite interesting—reaching a new transformation level and even mastering combat skills.” Such thoughts flashed through Dorgi’s mind before being replaced by shock.
A very special night-moon glow emanated from Nio’s body.
“He’s a Mad Energy User! Dorgi, act now!” Tamro shouted loudly, disregarding propriety.
Mad Energy referred to the highly activated and blended form of energy. Just based on this trait, Mad Energy Users were roughly 10 levels stronger in terms of power quality and ranked above Energy Condensers. Under these circumstances, it was crucial for Dorgi to take the initiative.
However, Nio, who was well-prepared, would never miss such an opportunity. As soon as the night-moon glow appeared, he launched his attack. With a step forward, the mud and snow exploded as if struck by immense force. The sudden burst of energy propelled Nio forward, carrying countless flashes of light as he covered 10 meters in 0.5 seconds. He swung his claw, unleashing five blue-purple lightning bolts.
Dorgi couldn’t seize the advantage, but the distance allowed him to defend calmly. His golden battle axe was raised to block that devastating claw strike.
Zzzt! Though the claw was blocked, the blue-purple lightning spread along the axe’s handle. With each pulse, it clashed violently with Dorgi’s earth attribute power, sparking brilliant magical light.
“Ha!” Ignoring the danger of the lightning, Dorgi swung his axe in a diagonal cut. Golden light streamed down like a ribbon, turning the surrounding snowfield golden.
As if anticipating Dorgi’s move, Nio raised his other claw. His four claws formed a cone, pressing against the base of Dorgi’s axe blade. A shockwave of dark earth energy erupted, with dark golden light spreading like ripples. Taking advantage of this skill’s effect, Nio detonated the lightning on the axe handle. Blue-purple electricity spread like mist, filling Dorgi’s entire field of vision.
Swish! Seizing this brief moment, Nio shifted from a charging stance to a gliding motion. Turning on his feet like an ice skater, he slid beside Dorgi and slashed downward with his claws like knives.
Dorgi, being an experienced fighter, realized immediately that his opponent was trying to use this opportunity to deliver a killing blow. Though he didn’t know exactly where Nio had moved, he had a counter—the Rotating Axe. By using the middle-back part of the axe handle as an axis and the back end as the point of force, he could spin around, creating a 360-degree attack. Unless the opponent struck from above or from a distance, both would suffer severe damage.
Nio was confident he could sever Dorgi’s body with a single claw strike, but he too could be cut in two by the spinning battle axe. At that moment, he chose to change from a slashing motion to a swinging one—changing the downward force to a forward one, allowing his body to leap forward from Dorgi’s back as if throwing himself like a sandbag. This move left everyone watching in awe; who would have thought that, to gain the upper hand, Nio could use his massive and strong wolf-like body to perform such an unimaginable maneuver?
While still in the air, Nio turned around, swinging his other arm backward in a diagonal motion. A dark golden, sword-like energy extended from his claw tips, sweeping across Dorgi’s other side. Fortunately, Dorgi’s axe turned just in time, and the two energies collided with a loud boom. This prevented Nio’s attack from causing serious damage, leaving only a minor wound.
Detecting Nio’s position through the collision, Dorgi raised his front legs, lowered his upper body and torso, and swung his long axe in a powerful cut. This move resembled the heavy slashing attack used by the knight Mayan before, except for the angle and the fact that Dorgi executed it more naturally and powerfully, as he was a large feline creature combining human and leopard traits.
After swinging back, Nio landed in an unfavorable position, falling face up into the snow. The moment his back hit the ground, he used it as a pivot to flip backward. Dorgi’s fierce strike missed him by only 0.2 seconds.
With the strike missing, Dorgi seized the opportunity but knew Nio was extremely agile and swift, so he didn’t dare use powerful yet slower moves. Instead, he used his battle axe to sweep diagonally, unleashing a series of blade-like attacks in an attempt to regain the upper hand.
Nio sidestepped easily, avoiding these attacks but losing the initiative.
Seeing Nio’s mediocre performance, Dorgi realized he might be preparing some special technique. While staying alert, he didn’t want to miss the chance. He swung his battle axe, releasing countless blade-like attacks that rushed forward like shattered chrysanthemum petals.
This move had an extremely wide range and required significant effort, showcasing Dorgi’s strength in sudden energy output. It was one of his proudest techniques. In the past, whenever he used this move, his opponents could hardly resist its force and could only retreat or keep dodging, allowing him to gain a 3–7 meter distance where his long axe could exert even greater power.
But Nio launched a counterattack as soon as Dorgi used this skill. He crouched down and pressed his left palm against the ground.
Boom! Starting from Nio, a fan-shaped wave spread out, causing hundreds of black ice rock spears to erupt from the ground. These spears resembled crystals, with the thickest ones reaching several meters in diameter and nearly ten meters in length, while the thinnest ones were still thicker and sharper than ordinary spears. This technique required specific terrain to be used effectively, and only in snowy, frozen landscapes could it achieve such rapid and powerful effects.
Fortunately, Dorji had been somewhat cautious earlier; otherwise, those ice-rock spears with immense energy would have instantly pierced him like a skewer. As Nio crouched down, Dorji sensed the danger and immediately leaped upward. With his abilities, he could jump 10 meters without a running start, but Dorji wouldn’t do that—for a skilled fighter, staying in the air for too long was a flaw in itself. He couldn’t change his landing point or descent time mid-air, allowing his opponent to attack his landing spot at the perfect moment, forcing him to collide with their attacks.
As Dorji jumped, Nio also jumped. His jumping ability was already impressive in his wolf-like state, not to mention after crouching to build momentum. He soared upward, diving straight at Dorji and slashing at him with his claws.
Dorji had just stopped using his signature move and was distracted trying to dodge, thinking he could catch his breath. But Nio pursued him, forcing Dorji to hastily raise his sword to block. With a clang, metal met metal, and sparks flew as Dorji blocked one claw strike. Unaware that this was Nio’s left hand, which had been used for the “Earth Ice-Rock Spear” skill earlier, the real deadly strike came from his right hand, which had been building momentum for longer. By the time Dorji saw this silent, swift right-hand attack, it was too late to block or dodge—he was in mid-air and unable to move.
A blinding flash of light suddenly appeared, then dimmed before erupting in a violent explosion. Dark red flames surged, dealing nearly a quarter of Dorji’s health damage. His armor shattered, his fur burned black and smoldered, especially where the claw had struck—his flesh was mangled. Even with melted armor shielding him, he would have been seriously injured if not for that defense.
Nio wasn’t planning to end it there. He relied on his skills; if fighting someone like Dorji couldn’t showcase that, he wouldn’t deserve to be called a skilled fighter.
After delivering the claw strike, Nio immediately stepped back and launched a spinning kick from mid-air. He could easily channel combat energy into his feet, and with his ability to multitask, he could use both feet as if they were hands to cast spells. He had used only one foot to jump earlier, while the other was ready to launch a spinning kick now. A deep purple lightning blade arc formed in the air, like a crescent moon. Before Dorji could fully land, he had to block this strike as well.
With a crunch, the sword handle broke and his armor cracked. Faced with Nio’s fierce series of attacks, Dorji’s proud combat energy output proved insufficient. Though the lightning blade strike wasn’t fatal, it left a long, deep wound on his front, causing blood to gush out.
As soon as Dorji landed, Nio’s attacks followed immediately. This time, he didn’t hide his moves—using all four limbs like four swords, he unleashed relentless attacks around Dorji. This series of moves was called the “Spider Battle Dance,” acquired by Nio by imitating the somewhat dubious combat techniques of a certain gladiatorial sword singer (an elven magic swordsman). Previously, due to his lack of suitable conditions, these techniques seemed flashy but lacked power and were unsuitable for actual combat. Now, with his limbs functioning as swords, spears, and weapons, along with his speed, agility, and strength, they were extremely deadly when used. Especially his ability to move like a spider was beyond ordinary people’s reach. For Dorji to figure this out, he’d probably need to communicate with multi-limbed insects first—it was simply too bizarre!
Of course, the most terrifying aspect is Neo’s spell-like attacks mixed in with his regular strikes. He has four ways to cast these spells, and his ability to multitask means the preparation time for each spell is calculated separately. It gives the impression that Neo is slashing wildly while continuously casting spells, though it’s up to others to guess from which angle, with which limb, and what spell he’s using.
His combat prowess is slightly superior, and although his overall index isn’t as high, he makes up for it with top-notch skills, extensive combat experience, and careful planning. Neo overwhelms Dorgi, never giving him a chance to catch his breath from the start of the fight, until Dorgi is covered in broken armor and blood, kneeling in the snow before Neo stops.
Even then, Dorgi continued to wave his broken weapon, instinctively parrying attacks, before finally realizing the battle was over.
“It was me who killed your ten scouts back in Cropp Village. It was also me who forced you to run for nearly 10 hours during Quian’s night pursuit, to no avail. Remember, my name is Neo Daknis, a werewolf of the Dark Clan. If you want to avenge yourselves, feel free to try!”
After saying this, Neo glanced at the stone-beast creatures across from him with eyes emitting crackling lightning, then turned and strode away without looking back toward the migration group, raising his arms to greet thunderous cheers.
Dorgi lost. Neo had at least six chances to kill him but chose to spare him. The Wood Druids saw it, and Tamro saw it too, which is why they didn’t intervene.
“Neo Daknis! A dark powerhouse with a heart of freedom. I’ll remember you,” Tamro murmured, watching Neo’s retreating figure.
“He truly is a believer in the dark natural faith, a symbol of the end of one natural era and the beginning of another. We actually found him in this way…” The Wood Druids were more amazed by the wonders of fate.
Another hurdle overcome—Neo earned the respect and trust of the migration group, but he also became the target of certain people, such as Root, Gladith, and Erulus, who was in Watzburg and had just dealt with a particularly evil pet named “Polyhedral.”
“My hair, my poor hair… Ugh… Neo! Wait for me! I’ll catch you! I swear!” Erulus’s howls, comparable to those of his bone owl, echoed through the chasm for a long time.
Volume 5: The Thorny Path
