Chapter 54: The Shattered Hall – Section 10
Points of light, everywhere points of light.
In just an instant, a dazzling light burst from the depths of the distant starry sky. The brightness generated by countless points of light together could rival that of the sun!!
“God, how many enemies are there?”
Among the Blood Wolf fleet, many people were stunned. They stared at the rapidly increasing points of light in utter disbelief.
In less than a minute, the number of points of light had become uncountable! Even by rough estimation, it must be in the millions!! If each point of light represented a warship, then even if the Death Star deployed all its resources, it would likely not be able to withstand the attack. Unless the Black Hair’s main fleet returned, tomorrow would be the Death Star’s anniversary of destruction!!
“It’s too late…” Someone sighed in the silent command ship, triggering a resonance among everyone. But this time, no one disagreed with them. Everyone knew that although under the command of Captain Steger, their fleets had regained their alertness, they were not at their peak. Having just gone through a major battle, they simply did not have the strength to face another war. The number of Thunderbolt Assault Ships had drastically decreased, and even their trump card, the Storm Assault Ships, were no longer combat-ready after the recent battle. To launch another attack, at least half an hour of preparation would be needed.
But would the enemy give you half an hour?
Any fool knew that was absolutely impossible…
The points of light appeared quickly, but eventually, they slowed down after spreading over tens of thousands of kilometers. Seeing this, everyone’s heart sank.
The cessation of their appearance meant the enemy was about to launch an attack. For an experienced captain, this process would take no more than five minutes.
In other words, in five minutes, the Blood Wolf warriors would face the toughest battle of their lives.
The atmosphere in the ship decks suddenly became tense, with everyone’s palms sweating. The officers in charge of weapons quietly placed their hands on the launch buttons, while those in charge of logistics rushed to the spare parts. As for the Blood Wolf warriors already inside their mecha cockpits, all they could do was pray.
No one knew whether they would still be alive in five minutes. Nor did anyone know if the Death Star would still see the sun the next morning.
But what they didn’t know either was that at this very moment, right next to those light spots, Skasaha of the Moor Fleet, the mastermind behind this rebellion, was equally stunned. Staring at those lights in the sky, he was completely speechless.
He was different from the Death Star warriors. The Blood Wolf warriors saw the light spots appearing not far from him. So what he saw were not mere light spots—but warships enveloped in energy halos!!
They were dilapidated ships that seemed on the verge of collapse yet incredibly agile. In appearance, they bore many similarities to the terrifying triangular ships he had seen earlier, only with thinner hulls and slightly higher speeds. Without exception, each ship’s bow featured a giant black wolf.
“This is!?”
Skasaha’s mouth hung open as he stood frozen in shock. In this vast cabin, many others shared the same expression. Even the officer who had insisted on attacking earlier was now as stiff as a wooden statue.
No one knew where those ships inside the energy halos came from, nor what race they belonged to or what their purpose here was. But one thing was clear: a fleet that could appear here without being registered with the Moor Empire was definitely not an ally!!
If Blackhair were here, he would tell them that this guess was indeed correct. This fleet was indeed not an ally—indeed, it was the Moor Fleet’s most terrifying enemy at this moment!!
Because… they were the Han clan!!
The most powerful foreign race under Blackhair’s rule!!
“Boom!!”
Almost simultaneously with Skasaha’s shock, those dilapidated warships began attacking. In one instant, hundreds of ships crashed violently into the nearest Moor giant ship. Just like the Storm Assault Ships Skasaha had seen before, these Han clan ships also relied on ramming as their attack method. In fact, for a race with little depth and whose existence revolved entirely around war, this was the only method the Han clan had to pose a threat to the Moor giant ships!!
Warships very similar to the Storm Assault Ships—Han clan arrow ships!!
No mercy!!
The Han clan were brutal. Excluding their allies, in Blackhair’s understanding, there were few races more ferocious than them. The entire history of the Han clan was one of chaos and war. From birth, every Han clan member might not know how to eat, but they would definitely know how to use weapons and kill!!
But the Han people were equally simple. As the one who brought the Han people into human society, Hei Fa rarely saw a race more suitable as allies than them. They wouldn’t shirk responsibility or be hypocritical. Once they determined you were their friend, they were willing to give you their entire strength—as long as you could meet even their slightest needs.
So on this crucial expedition, Hei Fa entrusted the rear to such an ally. He believed no one could come out unscathed against tens of thousands of Han arrow ships.
And indeed, that was the case…
Amidst roaring noises, the massive Moor ship, beset by nearly a hundred arrow ships, swayed like a drunkard as it slowly broke away from the formation. As it plummeted at high speed, successive explosions rang out. Its sturdy armor gradually crumbled, and under Skasaha’s gaze, hundreds of huge holes appeared on its hull—like the mouths of infants, flaring outward. Through these holes, Skasaha could even see the crew members being sucked out inside the ship!!
A one-hit kill!!
Skasaha’s face turned pale instantly. But before he could order a counterattack, more roaring sounds came. Right beside him, tens of thousands of arrow ships charged at them recklessly, wave after wave, each one more ferocious than the last. The massive imperial ship not only failed to deter them but instead became huge, obvious targets. Immediately, reports of losses poured into Skasaha’s command cabin!!
Indeed, perhaps in the face of the Moor ships, the Han arrow ships really weren’t much—simple and fragile. A single cannon blast could easily destroy five, or even ten, of them. Yet they couldn’t withstand the Han people’s ferocity and numbers!! It was due to timing—once the Han arrow ships appeared, they were right next to the Moor fleet. So now, the Moor fleet could barely maintain its formation, let alone change it.
After all, the order Skasaha had given earlier was to form a “trident” attack formation. Though this formation was extremely aggressive in offense, it was notoriously weak in defense! Caught off guard by such a fierce attack, almost all the Moors thought they were dreaming!!
A nightmare!!
“Wahahaha!! Great job!! Guys, keep it up! I’ll reward you handsomely when I return!! Completing the task given by Mr. Blackhair is an honor and a glory for our Han tribe!! Every warrior who dies, their families will be taken care of by me. I promise they’ll never lack food or clothing!!” From another side of the chaos, such shouts came from a ship completely different from ordinary arrow ships. A burly man was roaring excitedly, waving his arms. Around him were hundreds of equally burly men. Each of them had faces filled with ferocity and excitement!! The man surrounded by them was Jie, the leader of the Han tribe, taken in by Blackhair!
“Thank you, leader!!” The burly men around Jie rejoiced greatly and responded in unison. They were not warriors, but to Jie, they were more useful than a hundred warriors. For they were the leaders of countless small states within the Han tribe. With Blackhair’s support, Jie had finally achieved his dream of unifying the entire Han tribe.
Now was the time for him to repay Blackhair. This time, Jie had brought almost all of the Han tribe’s combat ships. No matter what the enemy was, he was confident he could defeat them completely!!
In the outer starfield, the battle grew even more intense.
Nearly ten thousand arrow ships swarmed around the Moor fleet like a swarm of wasps, diving in at every opportunity. Amidst the roaring battles, their attacks caused heavy losses to the Moors. In just a few minutes, nearly a hundred giant ships were shattered to pieces. By then, Skasaha finally reacted and ordered a counterattack. The artillery fire unleashed by the more than three hundred remaining imperial giant ships immediately caused the Han tribe to lose nearly a hundred ships. Yet this did not make the Han tribe retreat; instead, it fueled their ferocity, making their attacks even more brutal.
Skasaha witnessed with his own eyes an imperial giant ship firing intense artillery while trying to avoid collisions. But just as it dodged a deadly attack, it accidentally exposed its most vulnerable belly to another wave of arrow ships. The enraged Han warriors naturally wouldn’t miss this chance. More than thirty arrow ships immediately pounced on it like leeches upon blood. After a series of violent explosions, those thirty arrow ships and the Moor giant ship turned into debris!!
“We can’t fight anymore!!” Scassaha screamed in terror inside the cabin. By now, he had completely lost his initial composure. After witnessing the Han tribe’s fearless fighting style, he could no longer bear such psychological pressure. Although the imperial fleet could still hold on for now, he felt as though he would die at any moment!!
“Retreat!! Retreat!!!”
Amidst a series of urgent orders, the Moor fleet finally decided to withdraw. But before they could prepare to retreat, they found that their only route of escape had been occupied at some point unknown. Hundreds of Thunderbolt Attack Ships, like a butcher waiting for a long time, showed them their bloodthirsty grins.
On the command ship of the Blood Wolf Fleet, Guardian Sjei stared at these massive Moor ships as if assessing prey, raising one finger gently.
“Storm Attack Ships, attack.”
