Chapter 54: The Shattered Hall – Section 4
Like a whirlwind that appears and disappears without a trace, the Emperor of Moore simply left. Right in front of all the Blood Wolf warriors, he vanished suddenly amidst the encirclement of the Snake Teeth. Not only was the teleportation gate not activated, but not even the energy waves characteristic of teleportation were produced. It was as if he could become invisible. The Phantom Killers surrounding the Black-Haired Fleet vanished just as mysteriously.
In Li Feng’s cabin, chaos ensued. No one could believe their eyes.
“Damn! How did he do that?” Baroka roared, his eyes wide as he stared at the spot where the red flying fortress had disappeared. There, surrounded by nearly a thousand Snake Teeth, there was now a vast empty space.
In contrast, the Black-Haired man sitting at the captain’s seat remained calm. Only a glint appeared in his narrowed eyes. After a brief moment of thought, he understood.
“Quick teleportation.”
“Quick teleportation?” Baroka was stunned. Then his expression changed drastically. “Isn’t that only possible through a spatial rupture? Could there be such a natural environment here?”
A natural environment?
The Black-Haired man sneered and shook his head.
“I doubt it’s a natural environment. You saw those Phantom Killers appear just now. Do you really think a natural environment would be this coincidental?”
“What do you mean then?” Baroka was even more surprised.
“Wait until Monkey comes back,” the Black-Haired man interrupted calmly before closing his eyes.
Monkey returned quickly—less than five minutes after the conversation between Baroka and the Black-Haired man. But before entering, he circled the spot where the Emperor of Moore had disappeared. His conclusion was the same as the Black-Haired man’s: there was a spatial rupture point. And most importantly, at that point, Monkey found traces of human intervention.
It was a crystal the size of a thumb nail. Under the cabin’s light, it appeared as transparent as a diamond.
“Is this your find?” Baroka stared at the crystal, then grinned. “Monkey, aren’t you kidding me? Such crystals seem to be everywhere outside.”
“What you’re referring to are fragments of the Black Crystal Giant Ship,” Monkey replied irritably. “But this one is different.”
“What’s different about it? It looks pretty much the same,” Baroka replied cheerfully, unconcerned.
“Open the energy field detector of your Primal Armor and you’ll know.”
“Oh?” Seeing the monkey’s confident expression, Baroka still hesitantly put on his Primal Power Armor. As soon as he activated the energy field detector, he let out an exclamation. At the center of that crystal, the energy field had become extremely chaotic, causing the surrounding space to become unstable as well. It seemed that if this continued, a spatial rupture point would soon appear there.
“What’s going on?”
“I’m not entirely sure. But I noticed it since the start of this battle. The Moors’ ambush was incredibly precise, as if they already knew where we were. I certainly don’t think it’s a coincidence. That’s why I sent the Bark Bugs to check the anti-space area. They found similar crystals near our fleet’s anti-space coordinates,” the monkey said softly, glancing at Blackhair, who was still with his eyes closed, resting.
“I’ve never seen such crystals before. But just from the fact that they can cause spatial instability, it’s clear that the Moors used these crystals to achieve rapid teleportation. With them, they can easily create spatial rupture points and suddenly appear behind their enemies.”
“As long as they can find us…”
“That’s absolutely unbelievable!” Baroka exclaimed. “Does that mean that whenever we fight them, they can move anywhere on the battlefield at will? Then who can defeat them?”
“Otherwise, why do you think the Moor Empire has thrived across the universe for tens of thousands of years?” the monkey sneered, finally turning his head toward Blackhair.
“Head, what do we do? If we can’t counter this tactic, not only battles but also our Primal Power Armor will be affected. Spatial rupture points easily disrupt energy fields. We can’t exert our full strength in such an environment. And with rapid teleportation, we can’t take advantage of opportunities to attack. We won’t be able to catch them.”
As the monkey spoke, the atmosphere in the cabin grew heavy. Everyone’s gaze focused on Blackhair. He still had his eyes closed, resting, but his right fingers were tapping rhythmically on the armrest of his chair. The tapping sound seemed to resonate in everyone’s hearts.
After a long while, Blackhair slowly opened his eyes.
“Have the Snake Teeth been retrieved?”
“Yes, they’ve been retrieved,” the monkey replied cheerfully.
“Well, then let’s go to where the other party disappeared and take a look.” Black Hair pointed at the starry sky in the distance. “I always feel that rapid teleportation isn’t something that can be done so easily. Maybe the Emperor of Moore still has something we don’t know about.”
“What do you mean?” Monkey was puzzled, not understanding Black Hair’s words.
“The crystal you gave me. I’ve taken a look at it.” Black Hair gazed at the dark starry sky outside the window, his expression deep. “But I don’t think it’s the only factor. A single crystal, even if it can disrupt space, has limited effects. It might work for small units like Phantom Killers, but don’t forget how large the Emperor of Moore’s flying fortresses are.”
“Huh…” Monkey’s eyes lit up. “Are you saying…”
“I don’t know. That’s why I need to go and check it out.” Black Hair waved his hand, signaling for Monkey to stop talking.
Under Black Hair’s command, Li Feng slowly separated from the fleet and soon reached the coordinates where the Emperor of Moore had disappeared. Thousands of engineering mechs spread out like a net, getting to work quickly. Black Hair also put on Ya Zi and stepped out of the cabin. Standing where the Emperor of Moore had disappeared, he remained silent for a long time.
It had to be said that the Blood Wolf Warriors were incredibly efficient. It hadn’t even taken half an hour for them to conduct a large-scale search, and over thirty crystals were delivered to Black Hair. Just like the ones Monkey had obtained, these crystals could also cause spatial instability.
Seeing these crystals, Black Hair smiled.
“As expected. He’s still not a god.”
“Boss, what are you talking about? Isn’t the result the same as before? The Emperor of Moore indeed used these crystals to achieve rapid teleportation.” Monkey asked in confusion. He couldn’t see any difference from his earlier conclusion.
Seeing his puzzled expression, Black Hair shook his head and sighed deeply.
“It seems similar, but actually there’s a difference. As you can see, he used over thirty of these small things to achieve rapid teleportation.”
“So what?” Monkey still couldn’t figure out Black Hair’s thoughts. But Black Hair’s next words made his expression change.
“Over thirty. Didn’t you notice where they were found? These crystals can’t be placed or used arbitrarily. There’s a specific pattern to them. So I think that even if the Emperor of Moore wanted to do this, it would take a great deal of effort. If that’s the case…”
“He simply can’t achieve sudden attacks on the battlefield!!” Monkey was overjoyed.
“Exactly.” Black Hair replied affirmatively, recalling the appearance of the Moor Emperor during this battle. In fact, his appearance was no different from that of other Black Crystal Megacruisers—it was through normal teleportation. For this, he even sacrificed dozens of Black Crystal Megacruisers as bait. This showed that Black Hair’s judgment was spot on. Otherwise, the Moor Emperor wouldn’t have had to go to such lengths; he could have simply used rapid teleportation, avoiding the risk of being ambushed. With this in mind, Black Hair weighed the crystal in his hand before suddenly throwing it into the void. “Swish!” It was as if countless hands were holding the crystals, as they instantly returned to their original positions. “What?” Monkey’s eyes widened in shock at this sight. But unlike his astonishment, Black Hair seemed to have expected this and simply waved his hand nonchalantly. “It’s fine. Tell the others to stay back.” “Oh.” Though Monkey didn’t understand what Black Hair intended to do, he still gave the order. Nearly a thousand engineering mechs immediately began to withdraw in an orderly manner. Soon, no one was left around Black Hair. It wasn’t until then that Black Hair raised his hands again, slowly lifting them above his head. Under everyone’s gaze, faint halos appeared around his hands, but in completely different colors—the left hand was milky white, while the right was blood red. Black Hair gradually brought the two halos together before suddenly throwing them downward. “Go!” “Hiss…” With Black Hair’s command, everyone witnessed a scene they could never have imagined. In the vast cosmic space, the two halos rapidly expanded, as if drawing on a flat surface, instantly forming a huge shape hundreds of kilometers across. Then, the center of the shape suddenly collapsed. “What is this?” Those who had never seen Black Hair use this ability were stunned, unable to comprehend the meaning of his actions. Even after Black Hair returned to the Wind of Fury, Monkey still looked shocked. Black Hair’s expression was calm, but his face showed signs of fatigue. He didn’t explain anything in response to Monkey’s puzzled gaze, merely waving his hand lightly. “I think nothing can stop us now. Let’s chase after them…” “Understood!” From inside the cabin, everyone responded in unison.
