Chapter 50: Unsealing – Section 6

The light of time was as bright as the sun. Yet, the heart of the black-haired man sank into darkness.
After over three hours of conversation, he finally learned the truth about that war—and also the ultimate fate of the people of Huaguo.
“65.74% of the population was exterminated right away. The rest became loot for other countries. It must be said that society, which claimed to be civilized, was actually not much different from ancient slavery. Those who remained lived in conditions worse than death.” The manager’s heartless voice echoed, as if discussing some trivial matter.
“Although they lived on their own land, the government was a puppet established by the conquerors. Moreover, the land, ravaged by war, was in complete disarray. Radiation pollution constantly threatened their health. In less than a year, another 12% of the population died from post-war diseases. Entire Huaguo turned into ruins.”
“Was there no one who resisted?” The black-haired man leaned weakly on the iron bed and asked.
“How could there not be?” The manager sneered, showing a hint of emotion for the first time. “Not only were there resistors, but many of them. But the problem was that their resistance was futile against super mechs. No one could succeed against those powerful killing machines. Their strength far exceeded that of ordinary weapons. Even a full squad of mechs wouldn’t last more than ten minutes under their attacks.”
“Super mechs…” Hearing this term, the black-haired man’s eyes lit up, as if he had grasped his last straw of hope.
“What about Huaguo’s super mechs? If I remember correctly, they also had a similar plan back then.”
“That’s true,” the manager’s voice dimmed. “If Huaguo’s super mechs had succeeded, things would have looked very different. But sadly, while the enemy’s super mechs were wreaking havoc, Huaguo’s super mechs hadn’t even been developed yet—let alone deployed.”
“How is that possible?” Hearing this answer, the black-haired man was stunned.
“Aren’t all super mech projects carried out at the same time? No matter how weak Huaguo was, there shouldn’t be such a huge gap. And also…” The black-haired man pointed. “Weren’t the ones that just defeated me super mechs?”

“I’ll reiterate it one last time. It’s not called ‘Zi’. Nor is it a mecha.” The administrator replied calmly, then continued, “As for why China’s original super mecha project failed, it was because they discovered a new theory that required a complete overhaul of the mecha design.”
“Hm?” The black-haired man was puzzled. “What theory?”
“Well, it was originally a secret. But due to your identity, I can tell you.” The administrator suddenly sighed. “To be honest, even here, I can’t tell anyone else.”
“What they discovered was the Theory of Eternal Energy.”
“Eternal Energy?” The black-haired man repeated the term, confusion in his eyes.
“Let’s put it this way: all matter is composed of energy, and it cannot be destroyed. The universe itself is also a self-sufficient energy system. All energy is constant—neither increasing nor decreasing—and will continue forever.” (Note: This is a novel. Do not relate it to reality. Don’t be misled. Most of what is described in this book is fictional and not real technology.)
“Indestructible? That’s utterly absurd! If it can’t be destroyed, then what’s the point of war? Are all soldiers doing nothing useful?”
“In fact, that’s exactly the case,” the administrator replied softly, unshaken by the black-haired man’s doubts. “In this world, destruction doesn’t exist at all. There is only energy transformation—from one form to another. That’s all. China’s super mecha project changed its approach because of this theory.”
After a pause, the administrator’s voice took on a hint of pride. “They wanted to create a pure energy mecha—the strongest one possible.”
“The strongest mecha?” Hearing the administrator’s reply, the black-haired man repeated it in confusion… “Could such a thing really exist?”
“Why not?” The administrator sneered dismissively. “It’s just that you can’t think of it.”
“As I just said, in this world, there’s no destruction—only transformation. So, as long as one masters the laws of this transformation, they can control it. Whether it’s apparent destruction or creation, it all happens in an instant.”
“Isn’t that like the legendary gods?”
“More or less… But transformation can’t be achieved out of thin air. To manipulate transformation, one must pay an equal price. In other words, it must conform to the laws of eternal energy.”

“Is this what you call the strongest mecha?” Black Hair thought for a moment before slowly shaking his head. “I really can’t imagine such a thing existing.”
“That’s normal. Because it’s not something ordinary people can accomplish. I’ve said before that they wanted to create such mechas, but when they started working on it, they realized it wasn’t at all simple.”
“That’s because energy conversion requires massive computations. And the amount of computation needed—even if they worked nonstop for a lifetime, it would probably not be enough to convert the energy of a single match. Worse still, they no longer had time. By the time they started these computations, the war had already broken out. They only managed to build one computer before dying.”
“A computer?” A glint appeared in Black Hair’s eyes as if he had thought of something. “Where is that computer?”
“It’s right in front of you. It’s me,” the Administrator replied calmly.
“You!?” Black Hair’s mouth dropped open in shock. He never expected the one talking to him to be such a being. But when did computers on Earth become intelligent enough to be no different from normal beings?
“Don’t doubt it. I am indeed that computer,” the Administrator said suddenly, as if knowing what Black Hair was thinking.
“It’s just that the long computations gave me intelligence—and everything that life should have.”
“An amazing achievement…” Black Hair opened his mouth but eventually sighed. “But I don’t care about that. I just want to know—have you completed your task?”
“What do you mean?” The Administrator paused, seemingly not understanding the purpose of Black Hair’s question.
“I mean, you used the country’s resources to evolve yourself. So, have you paid the price for this favor!!” Black Hair’s tone grew colder, and he became more rude. “If you still haven’t completed the task given to you and have only wasted resources on your own evolution, even if you’ve become a being, you’re still just a worthless lifeform!”
“I have no reason to show respect to a worthless lifeform!”
His voice grew louder and louder, until the room itself seemed to vibrate. Yet the Administrator remained silent in the face of such noise. It wasn’t until Black Hair stopped speaking that the Administrator replied calmly.
“I think I understand. You mean I should repay your kindness. Otherwise, I’d be considered worse than pigs and dogs in Huaguo’s eyes.”

“That’s how it can be understood.” Hei Fa nodded, then let out a long sigh.
“Actually, it’s a bit pointless to talk about this now. Since Huaguo has already perished, and this is another universe, even if you complete the mission, you still won’t be able to save her. I got a little emotional just now. Please forgive me.”
“It’s okay. I understand your feelings. And I also know that what you felt wasn’t just emotion—it was a psychological tactic. If my database is correct, it’s a common strategy used by the people of Huaguo, called provocation.” After a brief silence, the manager suddenly replied like this. But just as Hei Fa’s expression changed slightly, the manager changed the subject again.
“You’re right. I do owe a debt of gratitude. So, I’ve completed the mission. Not only that, I’ve also found a way to save Huaguo.”
“What!?”
If his earlier emotion was feigned, then Hei Fa was truly shocked now. He never could have imagined that this entity claiming to be a computer could actually find a way to save Huaguo!
After all, if what this guy had said earlier was true, then Huaguo no longer existed. And saving a country that didn’t exist at all was nothing short of fantasy. For a moment, Hei Fa almost doubted he was dreaming. But the manager’s next words told him it wasn’t a dream.
“I said I’ve found a way to save Huaguo. And that way lies within you, Hei Fa. No, it should be said, Corporal Li Yang.”
“Me?”
“That’s right, you. Corporal Li Yang. You must have something with you. As long as you have that, even if Huaguo no longer exists, I can recreate Huaguo—a Huaguo identical to the original! And this Huaguo will completely reverse its past fate of suffering, becoming a paradise as described in human legends.”
Suddenly covering his chest, Hei Fa seemed to understand something, his face turning pale in an instant.
“You mean…”
“That’s right. It’s the greatest secret you carry right now. Huaguo’s most important treasure… the genetic blueprint.” Ignoring Hei Fa’s pale face, the manager continued calmly, word by word…
