Chapter 50: Unsealing – Section 2
“Boom!!!!”
With a deafening roar, the ground seemed to be struck by a terrifying giant hammer, causing wave-like ripples. Centered around the iron ball, the ground within hundreds of meters collapsed simultaneously, with all stones bouncing off the ground like bullets and flying into the air. A shockwave filled with immense pressure erupted violently, spreading out in all directions. Caught off guard, Monkey was pushed several steps back by this shockwave!!
“Head!!!”
Faced with the overwhelming might of the giant iron ball, Monkey was terrified. After all, Hei Fa was right at the center of that shockwave. He had been pushed back just by its residual force—what on earth must the center look like?
Thinking of this, Monkey could no longer stay idle. He pushed the control lever in his hand, and his machine, Canyang, immediately reached into its pocket and pulled out a huge two-handed sword. Without a word, the entire mech leaped upward, with its twelve engine nozzles opening at the same time, spewing dazzling streams of energy. Driven by its powerful thrust, Canyang soared like an eagle toward the distant giant iron ball.
How swift was Blood Wolf’s Canyang? In just an instant, Monkey reached above the giant iron ball. His huge, sharp sword became a blade of light that sliced through the air before crashing down onto the iron ball’s head.
“Clang!”
“What?”
Feeling the violent vibration in the control lever, Monkey was stunned. When he saw the result of his attack, he was even more astonished. His sword hadn’t even touched its target—it had strangely remained suspended in midair. At the tip of the sword, a massive shield was faintly visible, with faint glimmers of light where the sword made contact.
“There’s even such a shield!?”
Witnessing this scene, Monkey was horrified. Before this excavation, although he had heard OldOld Buick describe the horrors of demons, who could have imagined it would be like this? This wasn’t just terrifying—it was monstrous!!
Utterly terrifying!!
Monkey had hardly ever seen a shield capable of easily blocking even the sword wielded by Canyang. After all, that was a weapon capable of destroying even the stone armor of Moirai’s giant ships. How could a mere shield stop it? Moreover, logically, shields are designed to protect against energy, not physical blades. This made no sense at all!!
But even the most unreasonable things could happen. As an experienced warrior, Monkey didn’t have time to waste in stupor like an ordinary person. Though terrified, his movements were swift. He slightly tilted the control joystick and pressed a red button beside him. The setting sun beneath him immediately twisted, splitting in two around its waist, and two gleaming wings stretched out from behind his backpack, instantly transforming it into a semi-humanoid flying craft. It then drew a perfect arc with its massive sword before flying away.
Just as it left its original position, a even wider particle beam shot out from the large iron ball, soaring into the sky in the direction Monkey had attacked. Wherever the light passed, the air twisted violently, with bright particles scattering like melting snow—a sight of stunning beauty. Yet it was a beam of death.
Watching the suddenly appearing particle beam, Monkey’s palms broke into sweat, and his heart turned cold. If not for his quick reaction earlier, he might have become part of those particles floating in the sky. What exactly was that large iron ball, and why could it react so swiftly?
What about Black Hair? Where was he now?
The sudden upheaval had caused thick dust to cover the ground, making it impossible to see clearly. But after Monkey’s attack, the dust began to disperse. Looking down from above, the thick fog gradually thinned, allowing a faint glimpse of the landscape below.
“That’s…” Seeing what was there, Monkey was stunned.
Amid the thick smoke, a huge, pitch-black object appeared beside the large iron ball. Monkey recognized it—it was the thing he had warned Black Hair about earlier: a heavy iron block that had split off from the iron ball. As Black Hair launched his attack, it suddenly separated from the iron ball and fell silently. Even though Monkey had warned him in time, the block still hit the ground with force. Whether it hit Black Hair, however, was unclear due to the heavy dust and powerful shockwaves.
But now, through the faint haze, Monkey could see that the black iron block had created a huge crater on the ground, resembling an asteroid impact. The surrounding ground was cracked everywhere, in complete chaos. Yet there was no sign of the Emperor of Killing.
“Boss!! How are you?” Monkey asked loudly through the communicator, but received no response. As the dust and fog thinned, his heart sank lower and lower.
From his current position, Monkey could see the iron block that had attacked the Killing Emperor. It had separated from the large iron sphere and occupied a significant space, coupled with the terrifying force of the shockwave earlier. Boss, he really wasn’t hit, was he?
Although he had always had confidence in Black Hair, even at this moment, Monkey hesitated.
Just as he was about to lose patience, a hoarse, slightly tired voice finally came through the communicator. “I’m fine. Not dead.”
“Boss!!!” Hearing this voice, Monkey was overjoyed and shouted loudly, “Are you okay?”
“Well, it’s hard to say,” Black Hair’s voice was slightly breathless. “But I believe you’ll be able to see me soon.”
“Where? Where are you?” Monkey immediately looked around, but aside from the large iron sphere still standing in place, everything else was empty—no sign of anyone. The mechs that had followed him in had already been sent out by Black Hair to search. At this moment, aside from Monkey himself, there was only that large iron sphere.
After carefully scanning the surroundings and confirming that he couldn’t see the distinct figure of the Killing Emperor, Monkey grew anxious. “Boss, where exactly are you? I can’t see you!”
“I’m right here!!”
As Monkey pressed further, Black Hair suddenly let out a loud shout through the communicator. Before Monkey could react, a deafening explosion erupted in the open area outside. A visible cloud of dust and smoke spread out from the large iron sphere once again. In the dust, the heavy iron block that had separated from the sphere suddenly began to move, rising little by little.
But it definitely wasn’t the large iron sphere lifting itself!!
Through the thick dust, Monkey immediately saw the figure beneath the iron block. At that moment, the figure was deeply buried in the ground by the iron block, yet somehow managed to lift it with his arms. Two bright red glows appeared in the eyes of the figure in the shadows. The murderous aura emanating from him made Monkey’s hair stand on end.
Was that the Killing Emperor?
For a moment, Monkey was almost suffocated by the murderous aura emitted by the giant figure beneath the iron block.
How is that possible? The Killing Emperor is, after all, a mech, but how can a mech possess such immense power? What on earth did he do?
Wait… could it be…
In an instant, Monkey suddenly remembered what Blackhair had said during the last adaptive modification of the Killing Emperor. It was that eye that was responsible. He had described it like this:
“The new mech uses cells from the Wandering Clan as filler. As a result, while all its stats are improved, its energy demand also increases exponentially. That’s why the mech’s energy core can’t keep up with the cell consumption, forcing it to fight at only 75% capacity under normal circumstances. Once it exceeds that limit, uncontrollable convulsions occur.”
“At the same time, this system can utilize hormones from Octopus People. When used, it grants ten times the usual strength but doubles the energy consumption. With the enhancement components installed, it can sustain this for ten minutes, after which the mech becomes weak. But if used without those components…”
“It can still last ten minutes, but instead of becoming weak afterward, it will decompose, collapse, and devour everything around it, including… its operator…”
Head, are you activating that ability now?
The Killing Emperor’s enhancement hormones?
In an instant, Monkey was terrified by his own sudden thought. He was stunned, unable to say anything as his thoughts wandered in the sky.
Below him, inside the Killing Emperor’s cockpit, Blackhair had just wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. He had taken a severe hit due to the sudden attack. Although he survived thanks to the Wandering Clan cells within the Killing Emperor, he was still badly injured. Only someone who had experienced it firsthand could understand the sheer force and destructive power of that metal block!
That wasn’t the power of ordinary metal or even an ordinary mech! In Blackhair’s opinion, even being hit by Thor’s Fortress would be far less severe than this force!!
But now…
Blackhair glanced at the blood-red screen of the Killing Emperor and the rapidly flashing warnings. He reached out and pressed a red button beside it. Immediately, a soft sound came from the Killing Emperor’s backpack, and a faint chill spread from its joint areas.
“The components are installed. I still have ten minutes left. Since you love strength so much, let’s compete in that area then!”
With a hint of disdainful laughter on his lips, Blackhair gripped the control handle tightly once again…
