Chapter 48: The Greatest Thief in History, Section 8
Time passed quickly, and another two months slipped by. The residents of Death Star returned to their usual calm after the initial shock. In human society, news of the black-haired captive’s actions at Moor Planet Station was suppressed by various powerful figures, so it didn’t cause much upheaval. Aside from heroes like Marshal Wick and Duke Poseidon, most people weren’t even aware of it. Human society remained as peaceful as ever.
However, for those in the know, it was a different story. Black Hair’s actions were neither too significant nor trivial. Though the scope of their impact was tightly controlled, such enormous gains still left Marshal Wick and Duke Poseidon uneasy, itching to get a share. Unfortunately, Black Hair had not communicated with the outside world since returning, leaving them too embarrassed to ask. The matter could only be put on indefinite hold. Only when Black Hair needed external cooperation again might Marshal Wick and Duke Poseidon achieve their desires.
By then, however, Black Hair would likely be fully prepared. In this universe, there weren’t many who could put him at a disadvantage.
Of course, first, Black Hair had to process the results of this operation. After all, Moor Planet Station wasn’t some minor object—it was a colossal structure far larger than ordinary planets. If not handled swiftly, it could become an obvious target. Black Hair didn’t want to wake up one day to find Moor soldiers advancing, their warships hovering right above him.
So over these two months, the entire Blood Wolf faction was kept on its toes by his efforts. He first obtained hundreds of disguise devices from Snake and created a complete virtual image layer around the station. Then, Black Hair began the major operation, mobilizing all of Death Star’s resources to dismantle the station.
With a single order, countless engineering ships arrived from across the universe. Like ants, they gathered from all directions and quickly approached the giant station. Countless mechs emerged from them, climbing up and down the station. The lights from the cutters were scattered everywhere, resembling stars from afar. With Koko’s support, everything became incredibly simple.
In just one month, the station’s iconic giant gates were forcibly removed, revealing its extremely complex interior structure. If the Seven-Six Star Station were compared to a cylinder, removing the gates was like lifting its lid—what appeared before everyone was a cross-section. The interior structure was as labyrinthine as a maze, stunning anyone who saw it.
What followed was beyond the capabilities of ordinary people. Thus, more and more Black Prison engineers became the main actors at the demolition site. They directed numerous mechs to gradually dismantle the giant station’s structure, piece by piece, as if peeling off its skin. Every day, countless sections of the building were removed, and the station’s size shrank visibly.
Two months passed—neither long nor short. Black Hair had indeed created a miracle of just the right size. The Moor Star Station he had stolen was broken down into countless fragments, which then disappeared swiftly into his warehouse. The most important part among those fragments—the energy core—ended up in Cobra’s pocket.
The sky over Death Star was as blue as a painting. In the gentle breeze, Black Hair and Blood Eyes, along with the others, returned to the beautiful Mirror Lake. After three months of hard work, everyone here seemed to have lost weight, even the usually chubby Baroka. Most of his body fat had turned into solid muscle, making him look extremely robust. Blood Eyes even joked with him, saying he finally had some manly presence instead of being as soft as cotton candy, which led to many arguments between them.
Still, everyone was in a good mood today. After all, after all that hard work, they had finally achieved something. They had truly “eaten” that giant station. Just a few months ago, such a thing would have been unthinkable. Remember, Su Lei had complained to Black Hair for a long time about dealing with this station, thinking he was too greedy. If handled poorly, it might cause trouble for Death Star. But now it seemed all those past worries were unnecessary. Blood Wolf had safely overcome this challenge.
“All that’s left is to wait. I really don’t know what surprises Snake will bring me. Seeing him so confident, I’m looking forward to it.” Lying lazily on the lawn by Mirror Lake, Black Hair closed his eyes contentedly. The blue sky, white clouds, and bright sunlight made him want to groan in comfort. The obedient Su Lei was by his side, leaning on his shoulder, looking satisfied.
“Plop!” A stone fell into Mirror Lake, creating ripples on the surface. Blood-Pup stretched lazily, then imitated Black Hair by lying down on the grass as well.
“It sounds simple. But can he really do it? After all, breaking the laws of the universe is no small feat. If you hadn’t told me yourself, I would have thought it was just a dream. Controlling time… it all sounds so unrealistic.”
“Do you think Head is like you? Head is someone who achieves great things. Stop judging his actions based on your own ideas,” Baroka grumbled discontentedly. He grabbed a large watermelon and smashed it open with a slap before biting into it, juice splashing everywhere in his carefree manner. Blood-Pup shook his head in dismay.
Simple-minded people are truly happy. Even in such a critical situation, they can still eat and drink without worry. Baroka was quite laid-back too. It was only pitiful that he had followed Black Hair for these years—though life had been exciting, his mind remained constantly tense, dealing with more concerns each day than in the past year.
Blood-Pup opened his mouth but found he couldn’t say a word, so he could only grunt in frustration to express his dissatisfaction. Meanwhile, the monkey beside him stood up and walked over to Black Hair.
“Head, I was wondering if you’ve thought about this.”
“Hmm?” Black Hair raised his eyebrows and opened his eyes. “What is it?”
“The Moors’ reaction,” the monkey said with a smirk. “You don’t think they really believe this is theft, do you? And even if it were theft, I doubt many people in the entire universe would dare to pull such a stunt. What do you think—a ruler would do in such a situation?”
“Need I say?” Black Hair sneered. “It’s obviously a provocation. If I were a ruler, I would never let go of someone who dares to provoke me. But…”
Black Hair paused, a sly smile appearing on his face. “Don’t forget, the Moors are struggling to survive right now. Recent reports show their rebellion has grown worse. The Moor Emperor seems to have disappeared, failing to issue any statements. Without his leadership, the Moor Empire’s military is clearly hesitant and unable to compete with Duke Purple Rock’s Smo Empire.”
“What do you mean? The Moor Emperor won’t pursue this matter?” The monkey was stunned before asking eagerly.
“Of course…” Black Hair stretched out his words, glanced at the monkey, then his expression turned serious. “…he will.”
“Huh? So you’re still so leisurely?” The monkey suddenly looked as if he had swallowed a fly, his laughter stopping abruptly. “Boss, you didn’t mean that, did you? If you dare to take action, you must have an exit strategy, right?”
“Yes, boss. You must have a backup plan, right?” Blood Pupils and Baroka asked in unison. Two pairs of hopeful eyes immediately turned toward him.
Faced with such gazes, the black-haired man couldn’t help but smile. He stretched out an arm and gently pulled Sulei into his embrace, while his eyes gazed into the distance, his face calm.
“A backup plan? Not really many. But we’ve been old rivals with the Moor Empire for a long time. After fighting for so long, I’ve been thinking about one thing.”
“What is it?” Blood Pupils and the others asked in unison.
“When we’ll put an end to this sneaky way of living and face our enemies head-on. To show them that in this universe, it’s not just the Moors who are hunters. Sometimes, what seems like weak prey can also stand at the top of the food chain.”
“What do you mean…?” Hearing his words, their eyes lit up at once.
“Boss, are you finally planning to fight them head-on?”
“I haven’t made a decision yet, but I have the idea,” the black-haired man said with a smile, nodding. He reached out and pulled a blade of grass to fiddle with. “Especially after this theft incident, I’ve realized how weak the Moor Empire really is. I think it’s time.”
“Great!!” The monkey and the others jumped up at once, their faces flushed with excitement.
“We’ve been waiting for this day, boss. Tell us, when are you planning to act? As long as you give the order, we won’t hesitate. Give us a thousand Snake Teeth, and we promise to take out any obstacles in your way!!”
“Yes, a thousand. No, just five hundred. Boss, just don’t leave me behind!!” Baroka threw aside his watermelon and approached with a playful grin, his face covered in sweat, which made the black-haired man shudder.
Seeing his brothers’ enthusiasm, even the black-haired man couldn’t help but feel moved. He patted them a few times, then stood up and went over to the monkey and the others. He spread his arms and put them around their shoulders.
“Don’t worry. I won’t leave anyone behind. So you need to get ready now. Warm up well. I believe it won’t be long before we all head to the battlefield together. To declare our existence to the world—no, to the entire universe.”
“In the name of the Blood Wolves!! Declare our existence!!!” Blood-Pupiled and the others laughed together. Every face showed unparalleled pride!!
In the name of the Blood Wolves!!
