Chapter 46: The First Battle of the Giant Mecha – Section 7
By God, at the moment Baroka let out his roar, almost all the crew members of the First Fleet thought they were witnessing ancient titans. What appeared before them was a terrifying column of lightning, hundreds of meters in diameter. Massive bolts of electricity intertwined and flashed, turning the starry sky within dozens of kilometers around it pale. Beneath that column of lightning was the already heavily damaged black crystal warship.
“Crack!!”
A loud noise came through the public channel. Immediately afterward, a blinding light burst before everyone’s eyes, forcing them to close them as if blinded. It took as long as five seconds before the light slowly faded. What appeared before them was an unbelievable sight. A deep crack had appeared in the middle of the massive black crystal warship, running from top to bottom through the entire hull. The armor plates on either side of the crack were twisted messily, with sparks continuously jumping from them. The Serpent Tooth Mecha, responsible for all this, was now standing beneath it.
“Tch! What the hell, that’s awesome!!” Baroka spat viciously before casting a disdainful glance at the giant ship above. With a slight push from his feet, the Serpent Tooth Mecha immediately generated its familiar powerful thrust, flipping sharply as if it were a giant bird soaring away. Behind it, the massive black crystal warship suddenly broke apart.
“Boom!!”
The crew members of the First Fleet, thousands of kilometers away, clearly felt the vibrations beneath their feet, causing instant chaos. Then, an even more dazzling light appeared before their eyes. It was so intense that it was almost as bright as the sun. Under such intense light, the black crystal warship shattered into two halves and began to collapse in a chain reaction.
Explosions, fireballs, waves of energy radiation—In an instant, the crew of the First Fleet thought they were witnessing the end of the world. No one dared to speak loudly. Everyone’s face showed expressions of shock, terror, and disbelief.
“It’s done… It’s really done… Is it just a mecha?” On the flagship, Captain Rocot stood frozen like a puppet, muttering to himself. Beside him, the usually strict Grand Duke Poseidon showed no intention of restraining him. In fact, even Grand Duke Poseidon was somewhat incredulous at that moment.
That was a giant ship made of black crystal. He had personally experienced its power. His own First Fleet, so mighty, still appeared as weak as infants in the face of such a monstrous vessel. Thousands of warships—half of them sacrificed just to barely destroy less than five of those ships. Such a cost would make even the most generous person cry with sorrow.
Yet, such a terrifying warship was utterly shattered in front of that giant mech. From the start of the attack to its final destruction, it took less than five minutes. Was this really real? If so, let me faint. Damn it, why isn’t such a powerful mech mine!
For a moment, intense jealousy surged through Grand Duke Poseidon’s heart, causing his face to twitch. But everyone was too shocked to notice at the time.
Meanwhile, Baroka, who was fighting, was extremely excited.
“I killed him! Hahahaha!! Did you see? Did you see? I killed him!! I really did!!”
“No need to shout so loud. We can hear you,” came a calm voice with black hair over the channel, dousing Baroka’s enthusiasm.
“But you used the Micro Particle Collapse Sequence. Don’t blame me for not warning you. You now have less than five minutes left to fight.”
“Uh…” Baroka’s excited howls suddenly stopped, replaced by a frustrated expression. At that moment, the channel also filled with the mocking laughter of Monkey and the other sand pirates.
To be honest, it was Baroka’s excessive excitement that caused the problem. His final attack didn’t rely on conventional combat techniques but rather a self-destructive move.
The Micro Particle Collapse Sequence, in essence, originated from the Killing Emperor with black hair. It was a technique that amplified energy output to greatly enhance combat power. It was also the most terrifying weapon given to Snake Fang by the Black Prison faction. After using this sequence, the Wanderer Cells scattered throughout Snake Fang’s body would gain a hundred times their usual strength while emitting a high-frequency oscillation. Once this frequency reached a combat weapon, it would cause the weapon to oscillate thousands of times per second. Such oscillations could turn even the worst kitchen knife into an unparalleled divine weapon.
With such immense power combined with a sharp weapon, the outcome was predictable. That’s why Baroka was able to split the entire black crystal warship in an instant—utterly ecstatic.
But there’s never a free lunch in this world. Great rewards always come at a cost—enormous amounts of energy, and a day-long state of weakness after using that power. The Wanderer Cells aren’t gods either; using their power beyond limits damages them as well. So generally, after using this ability for five minutes, all joints of Snake Fang become paralyzed, like an iron coffin, losing all mobility.
That’s why Black Hair reminded Baroka—he only had a short five minutes left.
What could be done in five minutes?
Baroka didn’t know. But he was well aware he had probably already embarrassed himself. If he didn’t want to become the laughingstock of everyone upon returning, the only way was to use these last five minutes to kill as many enemies as possible. Only then would he be seen as a brave warrior, not an overexcited fool.
With this mindset, Baroka frantically pushed the control lever to the extreme. A shrill screech came from the engine core of Snake Fang as it rushed forward.
Unfortunately, it was already too late.
There were indeed many Black Crystal Giant Ships of the Moors on the battlefield, and the First Fleet was waiting to rescue them. But Snake Fang wasn’t just Baroka alone. In fact, after seeing Baroka’s power in action, the other sand pirates, even Monkey and Black Hair, were itching to try as well.
Under such circumstances, it would be nothing short of miraculous if Baroka could still seize a target. After all, none of the warriors assigned to Snake Fang were easy opponents—let alone Black Hair and Monkey, two top experts at the pinnacle of their skills.
So, after rushing half the way in a frenzy, Baroka sadly realized he had no opponents left.
Around all the Black Crystal Giant Ships, Snake Fangs appeared. During the time he had been charging forward, those ships had also suffered countless wounds, each one wobbling precariously, clearly on the verge of collapse. Outside the battlefield, there were two isolated Black Crystal Giant Ships, but they were beyond Baroka’s reach. Massive fireballs were erupting from them, their huge armor plates peeling off layer by layer. From Baroka’s perspective, he could even see the process of their disintegration. In the flames, a huge scar running across the entire ship was clearly visible.
“Oh, damn it. Head, you’re stealing my business again…” Baroka groaned softly, collapsing weakly on the control console.
It wasn’t that he wasn’t trying hard—it was just that he was all too familiar with that scar.
Such a long scar, right at the weakest part of the ship. Precise as if done by surgery. Such skill—probably only Black Hair could achieve it on the Death Star. And that scar wasn’t caused by an ordinary weapon; only one thing could deliver such devastating damage. It was Black Hair’s signature Death Scythe!! Just like the Killing Emperor, when the Black Prisoners equipped Black Hair with Snake Fang, they followed the traditions of the Death Star, using the best components and matching weapons according to the technicians’ preferences. So Snake Fang, piloted by Black Hair, wasn’t an ordinary two-handed giant ship or axe—it was a colossal scythe. Back then, it took the Black Prisoners a whole day just to forge this scythe. Baroka could see clearly that although those two Black Crystal giant ships had collapsed, they had only two wounds, both on a straight line along the engine’s path—proof of a perfectly precise killing blow. Nothing else, not even the slashes of a two-handed giant ship or axe, could achieve this. Only Black Hair’s scythe could. By combining the sharpness of the scythe with Snake Fang’s powerful engine, attacking at high speed while skimming over the enemy’s surface could cause damage several times greater than normal attacks. This tactic was Black Hair’s specialty, well-known to everyone on the Death Star. So as soon as Baroka saw those wounds, he knew he had no hope. Since Black Hair had already struck, even all the remaining Black Crystal warships wouldn’t be enough for him to bother with. He had already wasted time; rushing over now would likely mean he couldn’t even get any leftovers. Sure enough, as Baroka groaned, two more intense balls of light appeared in space. The two Black Crystal giant ships slowly split into two halves. Next to them, two Snake Fangs hovered in the air—one holding a giant scythe, the other fiddling with a two-handed giant ship. Weren’t those Black Hair and Monkey? Over the channel came Black Hair’s calm voice. “Just get the job done. Why all the chatter? It’s better to work more if you have the time. It’s just a warship—can’t you finish it with one swing? If you can’t capture the target, it’s your fault. You can’t expect your brothers to drag the enemy to you so you can strike.” “Exactly. Totally deserved,” Monkey added cheerfully, proudly raising two fingers. “I took down two in one go. So satisfying…” “…” Baroka twisted his mouth, tears of helplessness streaming down his distorted face.
