Chapter 44: Counterattack, Section 6
The morning breeze blew gently, cool against one’s face. A new day began as the sun rose above Death Star. As soon as the sunlight touched the ground, some hardworking aliens started working. Shops on Death Star opened one after another, and the market gradually filled with more aliens. From time to time, one could see oddly shaped aliens haggling, their faces red from trying to speak in their poor human-like language.
Meanwhile, Hei Fa, who had been forced to drink last night, was sleeping soundly like a dead pig. There was no other way—he had drunk too much. Unlike the red wine he was used to, most of the drinks last night were highly alcoholic spirits, including some “Erwo Tou” that Hei Fa had specially prepared for aliens who liked strong liquor. Unexpectedly, it turned into a nightmare for him. At least three bottles of Erwo Tou were wrapped around those damned octopus tentacles. It was lucky he didn’t suffer from alcohol poisoning right away.
The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, dancing like mischievous elves on Hei Fa’s face. His eyebrows moved, and finally, he opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was a snow-white arm. Hei Fa was stunned. Following the arm’s direction, he immediately saw its owner—a face as pure as that of a princess in a fairy tale. Sulei…
He let out a low moan. Hei Fa suddenly felt a severe headache. It wasn’t just due to the alcohol but also various inexplicable emotions. The quiet room allowed him to gaze quietly at the person right beside him. For once, the usually resolute expression on his face showed a hint of tenderness.
This… was the second time, right?
Perhaps to him, this world was just a dream—part real, part illusion. But for the person beside him, it was the most real world imaginable. Having endured hardships since childhood, this girl was extremely sensitive. What kind of fragile inner world lay beneath her strong exterior? Although he was just a passerby in her life, she clung to him like a lifeline, even in her dreams, holding onto him tightly with her fragile arms to feel secure.
Maybe he really was wrong.
Beauty… lilies…
And now, Sulei too…
A wave of inexplicable emotions filled his heart, making Hei Fa suddenly irritable. He moved slightly, unintentionally waking the person beside him. In the quiet room, Sulei let out a low moan before slowly opening her eyes.
God is my witness. In that moment, Hei Fa almost forgot his own existence. Her dark eyes were as profound as the endless universe. Especially after waking from deep sleep, Sulei’s charm in that instant left even Hei Fa stunned. Sulei hadn’t expected Hei Fa to be observing her so closely; both of them were momentarily frozen. The morning breeze rustled the curtains, creating a strange atmosphere in the room. After a long while, a faint smile appeared on Sulei’s beautiful face. She reached out to smooth her disheveled hair. “Are you awake?” “Mm.” Hei Fa was a bit dazed. Such an expression, such a tone, and such a natural demeanor—without the slightest pretense. The person before him gave Hei Fa the feeling of a wife. Unconsciously, his response became natural too, as if a real husband were answering his wife’s greeting. Hei Fa felt nothing was wrong with it. “Then I’ll go prepare breakfast for you. You haven’t been back to Death Star for a long time; you must be used to eating elsewhere, right?” Sulei smiled gently, extending her delicate arm to comb Hei Fa’s hair. “Hei Fa, you’re really handsome.” Handsome? Me? Hei Fa touched his face, confused. His fingers traced the scar by his temple a few times before he suddenly laughed. This was probably the strangest compliment he had received since arriving in this world. The gentleness of the morning, like a clear spring, instantly lifted Hei Fa’s mood. After moving around a bit, he jumped out of bed and lifted Sulei’s petite body in his arms. “Let’s go. We’ll have breakfast together.” “Heehee…” Her bright laughter echoed in his ears. At that moment, Sulei was truly adorable, her eyes brimming with affection. They didn’t say another word. It seemed their relationship no longer needed words to express itself. From Hei Fa’s casual actions, she already knew. Hei Fa had finally admitted his feelings. As the sun rose higher, Death Star became increasingly busy. Large groups of aliens rushed to their workstations. The Death Star base in the northeast of the Cloud Tower was equally bustling. One after another, warships descended from the sky, adjusted quickly, and then flew away. Everything was proceeding in an orderly manner.
By the time Hei Fa approached the canyon, it was already noon. The monkey, as ever, followed closely behind him. But unlike before, the monkey seemed quite listless today—its eyes half-closed, and it staggered as it walked.
“Huh, still not sober?” Hei Fa laughed cheerfully and teased.
“Nonsense. Try drinking five bottles of Erwotou in one go. If you can still stand straight, then I’ll take your surname,” the monkey retorted irritably, followed by a belch. The smell of alcohol wafted out, causing Hei Fa to frown.
“If you really can’t make it, just go back. Today we’re just going to take a look; it’s nothing serious.”
“Don’t joke around,” the monkey shook its head vigorously. “Today’s task is by no means simple. Don’t think I don’t know that. With so many things from the Moors in our hands, it would be strange if you weren’t eager to turn them into our strength. I have to follow you. Otherwise, all the benefits will just fly away.”
“Hehe, fine then,” Hei Fa said with a laugh, shaking his head but not refuting the monkey’s words. He simply quickened his pace.
In fact, the monkey was right. Hei Fa’s arrival here today indeed carried great significance—namely, the seizure of the Leech Warship. Currently, tens of thousands of Blood Wolf warriors were gathering in the outer space of Death Star, waiting for his command. The defenses of the Leech Warship had also been ordered to be disabled, leaving it exposed like an unguarded girl.
Entering the canyon, Hei Fa quickly spotted a shuttle that had been waiting for him. Without hesitation, he boarded it. As the ground beneath his feet gently shook, it shrank rapidly in his eyes. In less than half an hour, he arrived in the outer space of Death Star. After breaking through the light barrier, the first thing that caught his eye was a gigantic, top-shaped flying object.
Thor’s Fortress! Hei Fa’s most formidable weapon was also waiting here for a long time. But unlike what he had seen before he left last time, Thor’s Fortress had clearly grown in size, with many strange structures added to its uneven metal surface.
It must have been strengthened again. Looking at his fortress, Hei Fa felt emotional, along with a hint of pride. It seemed that forcing the prisoners from Black Prison to Death Star had indeed been the right decision. Death Star was progressing visibly with each passing day and second, undergoing constant changes.
With that thought, Black Hair did not delay any further. The shuttle beneath his feet trembled slightly and flew toward the massive fortress like a little bird, quickly disappearing into a small opening that suddenly appeared on its surface.
Five minutes later, Black Hair appeared in the command room of Thor’s Fortress. As soon as he entered, his first words were…
“Start it. I want to see what kind of creatures are in those Leech Warships. Tell my brothers to be careful—they might encounter unimaginable dangers.”
“Yes, Lord Black Hair,” replied a Blood Wolf warrior respectfully before turning to swiftly pass down the orders. In an instant, a thrilling scene appeared on the large screen in the command room. In the vast starry sky, countless Blood Moons and Dying Suns rushed toward the neatly arranged Leech Warships like ghosts. Yet those densely packed Leech Warships seemed completely unaware of their fate, showing no reaction at all.
The occupation went even smoother than Black Hair had imagined. He had thought that although these Leech Warships obeyed him, they were still directly under the Emperor of Moore, so there would surely be fierce resistance during the occupation. But in reality, that was not the case at all. Once he gave the order, all the Leech Warships seemed to enter a dormant state, showing no sign of resistance at all, which made it extremely easy for the Blood Wolf Warships to invade. Those heavily armed Blood Moons and Dying Suns didn’t even get a chance to fire throughout the entire process.
As more and more Blood Wolf warriors entered the Leech Warships, Black Hair’s brows furrowed. Somehow, he suddenly sensed a crisis.
Why? Why was everything going so smoothly? If the defense layers of the warships had been breached, it would make sense, but how could there be no resistance once inside? Moreover, not a single crew member was seen throughout the whole process. This was completely illogical. Could it be that such large Leech Warships had no crew to operate them?
The atmosphere in Thor’s Fortress’s command room grew increasingly oppressive, almost tangible. Heavy breathing could be heard from everyone’s nostrils. All eyes were fixed on a progress bar in the upper right corner of the screen—showing the progress of the Blood Wolf warriors’ occupation. Once it reached the top, it would be the time for them to invade the enemy’s command room.
Just then, a shrill sound suddenly rang out in the command room. Black Hair was shocked and about to speak when he heard the ecstatic voice of that Blood Wolf warrior again.
“Report! The first Leech Warship—occupied! Successful occupation!!”
