Chapter 34: Miss Veli’s Gift, Section 9

Miss Veli’s concerns went unnoticed by Black Hair, who was now on his way to the Moor Empire.
After countless years of expansion, the size of the Moor Empire was beyond human imagination—evident from the star charts provided by Miss Veli. Even the largest of those charts couldn’t cover half of the empire’s territory, a fact that was truly staggering.
With such a vast expanse, ordinary navigation was impossible, and even teleportation seemed inadequate. According to Black Hair’s calculations, even with continuous use of teleportation, it would take years to reach the interior of the Moor Empire—truly an endless journey.
Yet the Moors had their own solutions. As the most powerful race that took conquering the universe as its goal, their methods were so sophisticated that even Black Hair could hardly fathom them. These domineering beings had established something called “spacetime corridors” at regular intervals.
These were extremely peculiar devices, huge in size—each as large as an asteroid—shaped like a cylinder with openings at both ends. The space inside was large enough for any giant spacecraft to pass through. In space, such devices floated alone, some hidden among star clusters; without precise coordinates, they would go undiscovered.
Yet no one should underestimate them, for they carried the lifeblood of the Moor Empire—absolute transportation hubs.
Each spacetime corridor was essentially a multi-dimensional accelerator, similar to the multi-stage teleportation Black Hair used through subspaces. It operated on a similar principle, but it was more stable, safer, and faster. The only drawback was that it couldn’t be moved at will. Any object passing through a spacetime corridor would be broken down into its most fundamental particles by a strange force field before being sent out. Through multi-dimensional transmission, it would eventually reassemble on the far side.
Undoubtedly, this was an extremely advanced technology. To utilize it, one needed a deep understanding of anti-space and subspaces, as well as knowledge of matter composition. Being able to integrate these technologies and deploy them freely in space showed just how vast the Moor Empire was.
Surely they weren’t afraid of them being stolen?

This was the first time Hei Fa had seen the Spacetime Corridor. At that moment, he arrived at the coordinates with Xue Tong, Monkey, and ten of his Moorship giants. According to the star map, this place was called the First Corridor. What appeared before them was a massive structure floating in space. Its entirely cold surface glow indicated it was man-made. Yet there were no guards around it—lonely and extremely out of place.

“This is it,” Hei Fa nodded gently and smiled at Monkey and Xue Tong beside him. “After passing through this corridor, we’ll reach the outermost reception station of the Moor Empire. If I’m not wrong, quite a few people must be waiting there already.”

“Hmph, what does that have to do with me? Boss, I’m not responsible for thinking,” Xue Tong said carelessly, chuckling twice before tilting his head back and drinking the red wine in his hand in one gulp. He even made a few sucking noises, looking disappointed at the empty glass in his hand.

“I left in a hurry. I only brought two bottles. What am I supposed to do once they’re gone? Damn Moor Empire—their wine is practically water. Well, except for Fallen Angel, which tastes a bit better.”

“What’s a Fallen Angel?” Monkey asked, surprised.

“It’s also a type of wine. Hmm, quite good. It’s said to be very popular in the Moor Empire. Since I got this chance, I’ll take you to try it,” Xue Tong replied with a sneer, his eyes full of malice.

“Don’t listen to his nonsense, Monkey. It’s a hallucinogen. It’s not good for people, especially warriors—it severely affects judgment and reaction. It’s best to avoid it unless necessary. Well, a little occasionally is okay,” Hei Fa interrupted impatiently, glancing at him. “With that time, why don’t you go check on your new Red Demon? You won’t have time to prepare after passing through the corridor.”

“Tch, boss. Do I need you to tell me? The Red Demon is my treasure. I cherish it. I just finished waxing it three hours ago, and its condition is already optimized to the extreme. Hmm, I also fed it a lot of energy to strengthen its cells. Damn, those little guys really eat a lot.”

“Nonsense!” Hei Fa was both annoyed and amused. “When I was saving your life, why didn’t you complain about their appetite? Stop talking and get ready to leave! Don’t keep those nobles waiting.”

“Understood!” Xue Tong saluted mockingly. Just as he was about to stand up, suddenly…

Boom!!

A deafening explosion, like thunder. In an instant, a blinding white light filled the air. The entire cabin began to shake violently. The floor vibrated so intensely that several octopus crew members were flung upward and slammed hard against the ceiling. Blood-Eyed, caught off guard, was also thrown out. If not for his quick reflexes in grabbing the handle nearby, he too would have suffered severe injuries.

“Damn it, what’s going on!!” Though disheveled, the black-haired man managed to maintain a basic level of composure. The sudden incident left him stunned as well.

Damn it, this is a small fleet with ten Moth Giant ships. With the power of those ships, this fleet could even attack a small race. Who could possibly be attacking them? And how did they manage to evade their fleet’s normal detection? Most importantly, this is a Mothclan’s spacetime corridor—how could they be attacked here?

Wait, a spacetime corridor!?

No good!!

The black-haired man’s expression changed. Ignoring the violent shaking of the cabin, he leaped abruptly, moving like a meteor through space and appearing instantly in front of the control panel. At the sight before him, he was stunned.

Outside the window, a huge silver-white object hovered silently. A massive hole, several kilometers in diameter, was clearly visible on it. Scorching red light poured out from it, even lighting up the surrounding stars. Within the red glow, silver-white energy flickered intermittently, surging violently. Anyone could tell that this was not normal energy but rather an almost frenzied outburst.

If the black-haired man still didn’t understand what was happening after seeing this, he wouldn’t be fit to be called a leader. His expression changed slightly, but his hands and feet moved with astonishing speed. His fingers danced rapidly, typing countless commands on the control panel. Immediately, images appeared on Li Feng’s screen, showing scans of tens of thousands of kilometers around them one after another.

The black-haired man’s movements were so fast, his fingers moving like shadows. The images on Li Feng’s main screen changed even quicker—it was impossible for those around to even make out what was happening, let alone understand it. Just as the octopus crew members paled in fear, the black-haired man’s fingers suddenly stopped, and an image appeared on Li Feng’s main screen.

“That’s them!!”

“Who?” Monkey, who had remained silent until now, sat up abruptly and rushed to the black-haired man’s side. But when he saw the image on the screen, he was stunned.

“What… what is that?”

In the pitch-black starry sky, tens of thousands of light points were scattered everywhere. It seemed chaotic, yet it also appeared to follow some kind of pattern, forming a strange figure. This figure was so eerie that even a brief glance made Hei Fa feel something stir within him. The emptiness was unsettling.

“I don’t know. But we don’t need to know. Order the fleet to attack immediately!” Hei Fa cut off the monkey’s question without hesitation and issued the attack order right away!

Hearing his command, the somewhat panicked Moor ships quickly gathered together and rushed toward those light points, leaving Li Feng far behind.

The scene was undoubtedly bizarre. It seemed as though Hei Fa had been abandoned by his subordinates. But Hei Fa didn’t care. In fact, he was well aware of the Moor people’s combat habits.

The Moors were a people who highly revered strength. Once battle arose, no soldier would hesitate. Similarly, they believed that only a brave commander could be a qualified leader. So usually, they wouldn’t worry about the safety of their commander. In their eyes, someone who couldn’t protect their own commander was not even worthy of respect as a soldier.

This situation actually matched Hei Fa’s intentions, because his order had been nothing more than a test.

Those light points were tiny, and the pattern they formed was strange. Yet Hei Fa saw clearly that they were not ships or mechs at all, but creatures that resembled humans! Each of them was tall, with wings growing from their ribs! At first glance, they looked like angels from myths!

There were no gods in this world, and Hei Fa didn’t believe in gods either. So he wanted to see what kind of abilities these angel-like creatures had, and how they had launched the attack that destroyed the spacetime corridor earlier.

The ten Moor giant ships ahead were the perfect bait…

It was unclear whether it was Hei Fa’s luck or not, but things turned out exactly as he had planned. Less than five minutes after deploying the bait, he received the answer he wanted.

The countless light points floating in the starry sky spotted the rapidly advancing Moorish giant ships and immediately took action. They moved swiftly, interweaving with each other and quickly adjusting their positions to form a shape resembling an inverted triangle. At the center of the shape, the three largest “angels” embraced one another as if they were one entity. Soon after, countless beams of white light emanated from their surrounding companions and instantly condensed onto them along the patterns of the shape. Within the white light, the black-haired figure was horrified to see that the three embracing “angels” instantly exploded into countless pieces of flesh and blood…
