Chapter 25: The Fierce Universe, Section 5

Blue light at the bow?
His pupils contracted sharply. Monkey certainly knew what that was. He and Blackhair had studied countless times the footage of interstellar fleets battling Moor giant ships. Although he still didn’t understand the mechanism behind this blue light, one thing was absolutely certain: it was by no means a conventional weapon!
If it wasn’t conventional, the implication was obvious. Just like Earth’s chemical weapons and nuclear weapons in the past—weren’t those all deadly killers? Monkey didn’t think his elite mech could be more durable than an interstellar fleet ship.
Without even a moment to hesitate, Monkey roared, “Everyone! Emergency evasion!”
Hearing his voice, the Blood Wolf pirates froze for a moment before scattering like sparks. Their excellent combat skills and years of experience gave them a clear advantage over the Moors. In just an instant, a strange vacuum appeared on the battlefield. The Thunderbolt Assault Ships behind them also began emergency evasive maneuvers.
But it was still too late.
That Moor giant ship had clearly planned this in advance. As Monkey’s group started to evade, a massive blue light, wide enough to cover hundreds of kilometers, tore through the starry sky like a storm. Some of the slower Blood Wolf warriors were instantly engulfed by it, vaporized before they could even scream.
But that wasn’t the worst part. The worst was that Monkey’s Thunderbolt Assault Ship fleet hadn’t finished its evasive maneuver yet, and three of the leading ships were swallowed by the blue light. A huge, visible energy sphere appeared in the sky—this was the Thunderbolt’s powerful protective shield at work. Yet even this shield, capable of blocking almost all energy weapons, only held up for less than ten seconds. Soon, a huge void appeared in the Blood Wolf fleet. Everything within that void turned into nothingness.
Monkey opened his mouth but was speechless.
Although this wasn’t the first time he’d seen such a weapon, watching it on footage was one thing, and seeing it with his own eyes was another. This blue light… it was simply too overwhelming.
Since the Thunderbolt Assault Ships’ shields were still functioning, it meant the blue light still fell under the category of energy weapons. But the problem was, even with the Thunderbolt’s energy shields, which could only last ten seconds, just how much energy did this blue light contain?

Of course, the monkey didn’t know. The full name of this blue light was actually the “Lismito Beam,” a necessary facility on Moorish warships. It didn’t possess any offensive capabilities on its own but could gather and store all energy directed at it, then unleash it as a strategic weapon when needed. Of course, since it belonged to the category of energy devices, it could only absorb energy from energy weapons.

The monkey was unlucky—this Moorish flagship had just destroyed the entire guard fleet in the sector, so the amount of energy it had absorbed was enormous. If not for the monkey’s keen intuition developed through years of combat, that single attack could have wiped out the entire Thunderbolt Fleet!

The power of a strategic weapon truly lived up to its reputation as the terminator of wars!

“What do we do?” A giant red mech suddenly streaked through the stars and hovered beside the monkey. The voice of Blood Pupil came from inside.

“What else can we do? Haven’t you heard before? We’re in charge of this area, and we need to capture them alive as much as possible.” The monkey hated that Moorish flagship so much he gritted his teeth, his eyes turning red.

“I know,” Blood Pupil replied, also sounding frustrated. “But it seems unlikely now. That Moorish flagship’s blue light is too powerful. If it attacks again, we’ll all be dead.”

“Nonsense! That’s a strategic weapon. I don’t believe they can use it as a regular weapon. Trust me—I guarantee that ship won’t be able to emit that blue light anymore.” The monkey glared, clearly displeased.

As a long-time member of Black Hair’s team, he really disapproved of Blood Pupil and the others’ habit of questioning orders. In his view, orders were orders that had to be followed without hesitation—subordinates had no right to negotiate. Joking around was fine in normal times, but on the battlefield, there was only serious life or death.

If Black Hair said to capture them alive, for the monkey, it meant capturing them alive at all costs!

With his decision, Blood Pupil couldn’t say anything more. He could only lead the other Blood Wolf warriors in another attack. Although the blue light from earlier was terrifying, fortunately, their losses weren’t severe. Aside from a few unlucky warriors who couldn’t escape, most managed to flee. The Thunderbolt Fleet also lost only three ships.

While this was still a pain in Black Hair’s neck, it was the best outcome compared to total annihilation, right?

Of course, for the Moors, this was a disaster.

Fueled with rage, Blood Pup poured all his anger onto those Moor mech units. The mech squad he led acted like a sharp bayonet, slashing a long gap through the Moor mech forces. Against his specially modified quad-mounted super-heavy machine gun, there was no enemy that could withstand it. The energy defense system that the Moors took such pride in was as fragile as tofu—either torn to pieces in an instant or rendered useless.

Meanwhile, the Thunderbolt Assault Ships behind them also regained their composure and formed a charging formation, plunging into the battlefield. The situation changed rapidly, and soon a one-sided battle ensued. The fierce assault of 200 Thunderbolt Assault Ships was nothing short of devastating. No matter how intense the enemy’s fire was, it only caused ripples of energy on their hulls before disappearing without a trace. Their terrifying Hellfire, however, was the nemesis of all Moor mechs—any contact meant certain death or serious injury.

The battle was unprecedentedly intense. In less than 15 minutes, the massive army of nearly 10,000 Moor mechs was utterly routed by Monkey and his allies. Across tens of thousands of kilometers of space, there were glowing debris everywhere. The scattered fragments of mechs turned the area into a graveyard, filled with a sense of desolation.

Seeing this, the massive Moor ship clearly showed signs of fear. Although it continued to fire, it gradually retreated. Its huge hull moved slightly, barely noticeable unless one paid close attention.

“Bad! They’re trying to escape!” Monkey noticed this immediately and shouted loudly. All the Blood Wolf Pirates were shocked and attacked even more frantically. A few of them spontaneously formed a small arrow formation, ignoring the enemy’s fire, and charged straight at the massive Moor ship with determination to reach their goal at all costs!

But even the bravest warriors aren’t invincible. Four blue lights suddenly appeared, turning them into fireballs in everyone’s eyes. Under everyone’s gaze, four ghostly Moor warships suddenly appeared in space.

“Damn it! There are also stealth ships!” Monkey was furious, almost biting through one of his steel teeth.

At this point, Monkey knew full well he had encountered something truly formidable! He had never heard of warships that could become invisible. As for the target that made these stealth ships appear to protect it, its importance went without saying.

“Damn it, it must be a flagship. Guys, ignore those minor enemies. Attack together, no matter what. We must keep it!!” Monkey roared loudly, pushing the control lever hard. The massive black demon mech immediately dived downward, using its huge sword to knock over two Moor mech units blocking its path. Then it charged forward, swinging its sword wildly and creating a storm of destruction among the Moor mech fleets. Countless mech arms and armor fragments flew everywhere like rain! As it rushed past, it left behind a long trail of steel.

Seeing this, the Moor giant ship finally realized its identity had been exposed. It could no longer afford to continue fighting and immediately turned around to accelerate for teleportation. Meanwhile, the four stealth warships that had just appeared blocked the path of all the Blood Wolf mechs, buying time for their commander to escape.

It was a race against time! Monkey knew full well how difficult it was to intercept a ship in teleportation acceleration. But no matter how hard he tried, he was falling further and further behind his goal. Not to mention the Moor mechs swarming around like mad, even just those four mysterious stealth warships—Monkey wasn’t sure he could defeat them instantly. If engaged, his mission would surely fail!

Under such circumstances, Monkey was nearly driven mad, swinging his sword like a windmill. With a sudden wide swing with both hands, he created a vacuum zone dozens of meters in diameter around him. At the same time, he shouted, “Blood Pupil!!”

“Understood!!” Blood Pupil’s demon descended from above and landed right beside Monkey. After some unknown manipulation, accompanied by a series of clicks, the entire quad-mounted super-heavy machine gun was removed. Then, with a stretch of his arms, he lifted Monkey’s mech right off its base.

“Be careful!”

“Stop talking and act!!”

“Okay!!” Blood Pupil gritted his teeth. The giant demon suddenly bent over, and its engines unleashed a massive burst of energy so powerful that it sent dozens of surrounding Moor mechs staggering backward. Its demon then shot into the starry sky like an arrow, charging straight at the Moor giant ship.

Under the gaze of everyone, the duo’s combined presence was like a meteor streaking through the starry sky, extremely dazzling. Almost everyone stopped fighting and stared at them in astonishment. Then, a deafening roar suddenly erupted. Blood-Pupiled swung his arms and violently threw the monkey away at high speed!!
“Bang!!” A dazzling ball of light burst in the sky. The monkey’s black demon form instantly cut through space, covering vast distances. Its speed was so fast that it couldn’t even be captured by the naked eye. After a series of illusions, it reappeared above the bridge of that massive Moor ship. His hands suddenly gripped a long sword, which he raised high above his head…
“Hey!! Die!!”
The long sword descended…
