Chapter 25: The Fierce Universe, Section 3
There was no need for them to guess. Soon, those three strange warships began to move. First, the four engine nozzles at the rear emitted massive exhaust plumes, and the huge hulls started to accelerate slowly. Under everyone’s gaze, the three warships gradually headed toward the Moorish giant ship. The Moorish ship seemed to have noticed them as well; its cannons, which had been firing in different directions, all turned at once. Countless dazzling energy beams converged into three thick columns of light, striking the heads of those three strange warships with force.
A deafening roar filled the air, and for a moment, it seemed as though a small sun had appeared before everyone’s eyes. The terrifying energy shockwave spread rapidly, forming a huge ring in space!! It left everyone blinded. The defense fleet commander shuddered, his expression turning pale.
Had the concentrated attack from that Moorish ship triggered a secondary energy fission? It was terrifying—utterly terrifying. If such an attack had hit him just now… The commander shuddered, refusing to think any further!
But at the same time, another thought crossed his mind. Could those three strange warships, struck by such a terrifying attack, still survive?
No!
With eyes wide in horror, the commander rushed to look out the window and froze instantly.
The dazzling light in the sky was gradually fading, but the terrifying energy waves continued to spread like a tsunami. Right in the center of the energy beam, where everyone thought destruction would occur, three huge shadows gradually appeared.
“Oh, my God!” All members of the defense fleet gasped in shock. They could hardly believe their eyes.
What kind of warships were those! After being hit by such a terrifying concentrated attack, those three warships not only weren’t destroyed but seemed to have expanded significantly. Their length had reached an astonishing 3,000 meters, almost matching that of the lowest-grade large warships. Although their bows had huge craters, it was even visible to the naked eye that the bottoms of those craters were made of melted metal coating!!
What did this mean!? It meant that the Moorish ships’ terrifying energy attacks still couldn’t penetrate their armor!
“Clang!” His identification badge fell to the ground. The defense fleet commander was completely stunned.
Actually, it’s him who’s ignorant. Although the universe generally agrees that energy shields are the best means to defend against energy weapons, that doesn’t mean physical armor is ineffective. In fact, as long as the physical armor is thick and sturdy enough, it’s just as effective in defending against energy weapons!
The Storm Assault Ship’s physical armor accounts for 87% of its total structure!!! Is that thick enough?
Black Hair laughed coldly…
“A bunch of idiots!”
“Tell our test pilots it’s time to start. Let’s see the power of this new type of warship…”
“Yes, Captain!!” Baroka replied loudly, his face twitching with excitement. Without hesitation, he grinned and pressed a button.
At the same time, red lights inside the three Storm Assault Ships began to flash. A shrill alarm echoed throughout the ships. All the crew members jumped up like cats with their tails stepped on, rushing to the nearest strange device and sitting down. Then, the device clicked shut, locking the crew members inside.
This was what made the Storm Assault Ship special. Since its attack method involved impact, the crew inside had to be protected as tightly as possible; otherwise, the shockwave from the impact alone would be enough to tear apart human flesh.
Of course, nothing of this internal change could be seen from the outside. All that could be seen was the sudden burst of red light!
The ship’s wake!!
With sixty-two auxiliary engines, no other warship in the universe had more than the Storm Assault Ship. Although these auxiliary engines couldn’t provide long-term power, they were unmatched for short-distance bursts! In an instant, the energy reserves of the three Storm Assault Ships dropped to negative levels, while their speed soared to its limit! All the crew members lost consciousness instantly.
It was terrifying—such extreme overload could probably only be endured by Black Hair. Even with the most carefully designed protection systems, human bodies were still too fragile. For a moment, almost all the crew members felt as if they were in a dream.
Of course, such overload indirectly showed just how terrifyingly fast the Storm Assault Ship could go. At such speeds, even a piece of paper could cut through solid armor!!
Was the front of the Storm Assault Ship made of paper?
Baroka smirked. Pah, that was a high-compression alloy spiral ram, equipped with an energy oscillation system. Once activated, it was sharper than the sharpest light blade. Paper? Oh, go to hell.
A terrifying speed that seemed to freeze time itself. A brief moment felt like ten thousand years. Right under everyone’s eyes, those three strange warships crossed time, space, and even people’s expectations. In one instant, a brilliant light flashed, and the next, a deafening explosion erupted through the channel, causing many crew members to collapse to the ground.
Collision…?! Those three strange warships actually collided with the Moth giant ship, which was several times larger than them?!?
Rubbing their eyes, people could hardly believe what they saw.
Before them lay a horrifying scene.
The massive Moth giant ship was no longer in its original position but had been pushed five kilometers away. Its entire path was covered in shattered debris. Those three strange warships were embedded in its bow, bridge, and rear engines. Their hulls were deeply buried in the Moth ship’s body, and the armor within hundreds of meters around the impact points had been completely shattered. Large amounts of blue liquid flowed along the damaged hull—like… the blood of a beast?
“Boom, boom, boom!!”
Three terrifying explosions caused the struck Moth ship to burst into violent fire. Its entire bridge was blown away. Blinding streams of energy erupted, forming a fountain in space. The explosions at the bow and stern were even more severe—explosions that originated from within, with countless huge cracks spreading across the ship as massive amounts of blue sludge sprayed out. Even the armor was blown away by such terrifying explosions!!
“Don’t… don’t joke around…” The defense fleet commander staggered, barely avoiding fainting.
That was a Moth giant ship!! According to Marshal Wick, it was the most terrifying weapon in the universe. He had witnessed its power firsthand. The entire defense fleet of 300 frigates had been reduced to less than 100—proof of this ship’s strength. But how could such a terrifying ship end up in such ruins?
Could those three strange warships have crippled this Moth ship just by colliding with it?
The defense fleet commander couldn’t understand. His face was pale, and he still couldn’t accept reality. Meanwhile, amidst the black-haired warriors, there was jubilation.
“Haha, as expected—truly a modern warship. Damn impressive!!” Baroka grinned widely and slapped the pirate next to him hard enough to make his face twitch.
“Captain, give me those three Stormships when they return. I want to form a Stormfleet. What do you think?” Leaning in close to the black-haired man with a sly expression, Baroka looked like a poodle—almost as if he lacked a tail. With his bulky body and that expression, the pirates around him struggled to hold back their laughter.
Seeing his face, a faint smile finally appeared on the black-haired man’s stern face. He waved his hand. “You’re laughing too early, Baroka. If the Moors only had such limited capabilities, they wouldn’t deserve to be called the most terrifying race in the universe. Don’t underestimate that giant ship—even though it’s almost crippled now, I guarantee it still has some strength left. Do you want to make a bet with me?”
“If you win, I’ll give you those three Stormships.”
“Huh?” Baroka was stunned, staring blankly for a moment before gritting his teeth. “I’ll take the bet. Captain, you better keep your word!”
Damn it! The bridge has been destroyed—how can you still fight? Baroka glared fiercely at the Moors’ giant ship on the screen, his eyes turning green as if he were staring at a huge cake.
But he was wrong. The Moors’ ship did attack. A blue light flowed across its surface, and the countless cracks on its massive hull began to repair themselves automatically. Though not very quickly, it was still healing, and the numerous cannons on its hull all turned in unison, firing wildly at the Stormships that had penetrated its hull! The dazzling energy blasts formed a small storm of pure energy around the ship.
Damn!! Baroka’s mouth hung open in shock.
An energy storm created by gunfire—something only Li Feng could do on the Blood Wolf warships. Could that Moors’ ship really have such powerful firepower? And it could even repair itself—what kind of thing was it? A Wandering One?
“Snap!” Flames lit up as the black-haired man lit a cigarette, glancing at Baroka with a mocking smile. “Well? Still want those Stormships?”
“No… I don’t want them anymore…” Baroka was stunned, his eyes vacant.
Running into such a ship with unimaginable vitality was his bad luck. Moors, you bastards! My Stormfleet is gone just like that? Baroka suddenly felt like an idiot. Why did he bet with the black-haired man? Had he ever lost before?
“Heh, forget it. Let’s stop here.” The black-haired man waved his hand generously and stood up, his face now serious.
“Thunderbolt assault ship charges, adjusts its hull upon approaching the Moor giant ship, full firepower, at point-blank range…”
“Fire!!”
