Chapter 17: White Terror, Section 10

Black Hair’s anger had its reason. As he forced himself to pull the Monkey out, he suddenly noticed, behind the Monkey and deep within the wall, a pale yellow crystal connected to countless tubes.
Seeing this crystal made Black Hair’s eyes turn red, for he knew very well what it represented—the control core of the Moors’ warships.
During his casual conversation with Mason on the planet Mason, the characteristics of the Moors had been mentioned, including this crystal. It was said that the Moors’ warships were completely different from ordinary warships; their material was not metal but crystals resembling stone. Besides being sturdy, these crystals also possessed remarkable flexibility, making them excellent materials for warships. Yet they were extremely difficult to work with. Only the Moors had the ability to cut and shape these crystals. Moreover, the Moors’ warships were classified into different levels based on the color of their crystals.
A pale yellow crystal indicated the lowest level of Moors’ warships, which were generally used only for reconnaissance.
The Moors… Black Hair hardly knew how to express his anger. At that moment, his mind was filled with thoughts of revenge. His blood-red eyes stared intently at the large screen ahead; no one knew what he was thinking, and no one dared disturb him.
The Blood Wolf Fleet moved swiftly. Under Black Hair’s absolute orders, it took only two days to return to Silver Star—mostly because the warships ran out of energy. When that brilliant planet reappeared in sight, almost all the pirates let out a sigh of relief.
Now, their leader might be in a much better situation. They had completed their mission on time.
But they were wrong…
Although Silver Star was their starting point, what Black Hair wanted now was not endless resources. All he wanted was the help of the Wanderers. And the only place where the Wanderers gathered at the moment was Death Star.
So, as soon as they arrived at Silver Star, Black Hair didn’t even pause for a moment before leading Li Feng back into the stars once again. The other Sardine-class warships stayed behind with Blood Pupil.
There was no choice. Even though Black Hair was anxious, he had to consider the situation of the newly joined forces. At that moment, the combat power sent by the five major families and the Warriors Association was converging on Silver Star, so he had to leave someone behind to receive it. Since Baroka wasn’t meticulous enough, only Blood Pupil could stay.

The monkey’s life could only last three days, and it took them two days to return to Silver Star. Hei Ba really couldn’t imagine what would await him if he failed to make it back to Death Star on the last day. After so many years of solitude, he missed his old companions terribly. If he allowed the monkey to die right in front of him, Hei Ba would never forgive himself.

Without the burden of auxiliary warships, Li Feng’s speed was almost insane. Even during the journey through reverse space, where no one could stay conscious, Hei Ba didn’t spare any effort. He used his special ability to directly control Li Feng’s power core, igniting all the engines without concern for the energy depletion in reverse space.

Through such frantic efforts, Hei Ba finally returned to his hometown at dusk on the last day. It was then that he suddenly realized—the massive intelligent planet, Mason, was no longer there…

“Sir! Sir!!” As soon as Hei Ba stepped off the ship, a small figure called out loudly, rushing to his feet. Was it not butler Uri? At that moment, the short butler was filled with panic, looking as if he had caused a huge disaster, which made all the pirates around burst into laughter.

But Uri clearly couldn’t care less. He threw himself at Hei Ba’s feet and clung to his thighs. “Sir! It’s bad! It’s terrible!! Planet Mason has suddenly disappeared!!”

“Hah!?” The laughter stopped abruptly. The pirates exchanged glances, realizing now that the massive planet really seemed to have vanished… This was serious. Whispers immediately arose among Hei Ba’s men as the pirates whispered to each other, their faces filled with extreme shock.

Planet Mason could be considered their strongest military asset at the moment. Its sudden disappearance at such a critical time was like losing their backbone. Without such a powerful armed planet, relying solely on their eleven warships, the pirates could hardly imagine the consequences if they encountered external enemies.

And this was before they knew that the warship they had just destroyed belonged to the Moore tribe. If they had known, there would surely have been an uproar.

In hushed voices, the pirates’ attention immediately turned to the dark-haired man before them. At this moment, they desperately needed someone to step forward and show them the way. And undoubtedly, that person could only be the dark-haired man.
Unfortunately, despite hearing such astonishing news, their leader showed no reaction. He simply nodded once before rushing off, with Baroka, the pirate chief, following closely behind, carrying a huge life-support device that resembled a coffin.
It wasn’t that the dark-haired man wasn’t concerned about his forces—he simply didn’t have the energy right now. If he couldn’t get an answer from the Wandering Clan immediately, he wouldn’t be able to stay calm.
So, just fifteen minutes later, he stood in front of a massive fleshball. This fleshball was located in a huge cave over five hundred meters underground in the Death Star city—territory carved out by the Wandering Clan for themselves.
“Kern! Tell me, is there any way?” The dark-haired man watched as tendrils emerged from the life-support device in front of him and urgently demanded an answer. The muscles on his face twisted slightly, his forehead covered in glistening sweat. His excitement made his anxiety obvious.
“Hey, Dark Hair, why do you always remember me at such times? Your attitude really hurts my feelings…” The fleshball writhed a few times before suddenly emitting a mocking voice—wasn’t that Kern’s voice?
“Stop talking nonsense. That’s my brother,” the dark-haired man cut Kern off coldly, reaching out to lift the cover of the life-support device, revealing the monkey’s pale face. “So, can you save him?”
Seeing the dark-haired man’s urgency, Kern seemed to realize it wasn’t the time for jokes. His tone became serious. After a moment of contemplation, a tendril suddenly stretched out from the wall and touched the monkey’s head. At its tip, a viscous green liquid became visible, spreading slowly across the monkey’s body as the tendril moved.
“The physical tissues are almost completely damaged, but the brain can still function normally. Dark Hair, you’re lucky. If it had been an hour later, even I wouldn’t have been able to save him.” Kern didn’t directly answer the dark-haired man’s question, but his words reassured him.
“As long as he can be saved… as long as he can be saved…” murmuring, the dark-haired man suddenly felt as if all his strength had vanished. His body swayed a few times before he softly sat down on the ground.

He hadn’t slept for three days and three nights. The extreme stress, coupled with the fatigue from the journey, left him in a state akin to having just fought a war. Hearing news about his companion suddenly caused him to relax so much that he lost control of his body in an instant. As his body collapsed to the ground, a strange crackling sound came from his left arm, which then split into countless thin black threads.

“Kurokami, you!?” Kaku was shocked. This condition of Kurokami clearly meant he had lost control of his body! If not stopped immediately, those black threads would surely devour his true form.

Could the man with only half a body in front of him really be that important to Kurokami?

“It’s fine, don’t worry about me,” Kurokami said with a bitter smile, shaking his head after noticing Kaku’s tone. “They won’t devour me. I just want to sleep properly. Kaku, are you sure you can restore my brother to his original state?”

“That’s not possible!” Kaku sensed the expectation in Kurokami’s words but could only reply helplessly. “His physical body has been completely damaged. Just like that Barton, I can only rebuild his body. Everything except his brain is no longer his original self. But don’t worry—I’m sure I can make him as good as before, even stronger.” As he spoke, Kaku couldn’t help but show a hint of pride.

“When it comes to understanding biological bodies, if we Wandering Ones are second to anyone in this universe, then no other race dares to claim first place!”

“That’s good, that’s good,” Kurokami said, feeling a hint of joy, nodding as he struggled to stand up. “It all depends on you. How long will it take to restore him?”

“Give me a week,” Kaku replied quickly. At the same time, a hole appeared on the wall, and countless tentacles stretched out from it, pulling in the life support device.

Unlike when he entered, Kurokami felt extremely relieved as he left the underground cave. With Kaku’s assurance, all his worries seemed to vanish. A familiar kind smile finally appeared on his resolute face. But before he could exit the cave’s entrance at the surface, he suddenly noticed a figure waiting there for a long time.

Baroka…

“What? What’s the matter?” Kurokami was puzzled. At this time, Baroka should be organizing his men to rest—why was he here?

“Captain, I just received some news!” Baroka’s expression was unusually serious. After a pause, he spoke slowly.

“A weaponized planet was suddenly discovered near the headquarters of the Starfleet, on the planet Taraton.”
