Chapter Thirteen: Wealth and Poverty, Section 2
It is undeniable that the Vice President is indeed a master of strategy. The timing was perfect. At the moment when the fierce winds had just subsided, thecabin doors were wide open, and all internal personnel had rushed out, the suddenly appearing pirate mechs not only seized the lives of all the leaders but also brought this massive warship under control.
It was a fatal blow.
Anyone with eyes could see the strength of the fierce winds, and with the ability to control such a terrifying warship, coupled with the power the Vice President already possessed, it was unnecessary to overthink—the outcome was obvious. After all, the Pirate Alliance’s council was also a display of military strength. Without force, you gain nothing.
“Soso, you’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time, haven’t you? Are these all Yinfeng’s subordinates?” Finally, the President spoke slowly, his gaze sweeping over the pirate mechs around him, his expression calm.
Yinfeng was the Vice President’s direct team and the second-strongest military force in the entire alliance, after the President’s own Magma Team. Unlike the reckless style of ordinary pirate teams, Yinfeng’s fighting style was more like that of a venomous snake—cunning and ruthless, striking only when necessary but causing bloodshed whenever they did. They were a truly terrifying force.
“Hehe, that’s right. These are all my Yinfengs. Brutus, if you hadn’t clung to the President’s position so stubbornly, I wouldn’t have to rush like this. It’s all your fault, damn it! Isn’t it good enough for me to be the President? Why do you always try to overshadow me just because I have Magma—the biggest team in the alliance?” The Vice President’s voice suddenly turned angry, his fat face twisting. Looking at the approaching pirate mechs, he suddenly let out a sinister laugh.
“But now I don’t have to worry. My Yinfengs have taken control of the situation. From the way you look, are you still hoping for your Magma? Hehe, don’t worry, most of them are probably already far away from Hell Star, on their way to the Interstellar Fleet headquarters. You really should thank your good secretary…”
“You!” The President’s eyes widened in disbelief at what he had heard.
He could rule the entire alliance thanks to having the biggest team in it—the Magma Pirates. But from the Vice President’s words, it seemed even his secretary had been bribed by him. No wonder—among the entire alliance, aside from himself, only his secretary could possibly mobilize his Magma, though that required some additional proof.
At this thought, the Speaker suddenly reached into his chest, felt around briefly, and his expression instantly froze, turning extremely ugly.
“Hehehehe…” Seeing the Speaker’s reaction, the Vice Speaker suddenly started laughing. His laughter grew louder and louder until it turned into uncontrollable madness. Behind him, two pirate mechs followed closely like guards, moving in sync with him. Their massive frames exuded an overwhelming sense of pressure over all the pirate leaders.
In contrast, the once-mighty crimson mechs now seemed to have lost all power, turning into lifeless statues. They ignored the surrounding pirate mechs as they gradually tightened their encirclement, as if they didn’t even exist.
The skies were equally tense. The fleet of warships was clearly divided into two factions, facing off in the sky. Just by eye, it was obvious that most of the ships bore a small venomous snake emblem—the symbol of the Vice Speaker’s Shadow Wind Pirate Gang!
The situation had clearly tipped in favor of the Vice Speaker. With absolute power of life and death in his hands, he probably only needed to say a word for all the leaders present to never see the next sunrise.
Was there still any hope?
The Speaker’s gaze turned toward the dark-haired man who had been smoking quietly in the corner. Ever since the Vice Speaker took action, this mysterious man had not made a sound, merely staring fixedly at that giant warship, showing no reaction to anything around him. It was because of his attitude that neither the Blood-Eyed nor the Lily, nor those mysterious crimson mechs moved at all. If not for their terrifying weapons and the Vice Speaker’s reluctance to act rashly, pirates would have already taken control of them.
Still, the numerous Shadow Wind subordinates surrounded them tightly, layer after layer. That was until their leader stopped laughing.
“Mr. Dark Hair, I’m sorry for scaring you. But you’re a smart man. You know what to do, right?” The Vice Speaker finally targeted the dark-haired man, walking up to him and arrogantly lifting his chin. He looked down at this mysterious man with disdain, as if he were an insect. His voice suddenly turned sharp.
“Bastard! Hurry up and tell your men to drop their weapons and leave those damned mechs. Open your crappy warship! Surrender everyone!! You should feel honored, as you’ve witnessed the rise of the greatest leader of the alliance. Use your worthless, unpopular floating ship as a gift!”
Blatant provocation, a blatant declaration. Almost as soon as those words were spoken, all the blood-red mechs moved. Their cold gun muzzles rose swiftly, aiming at this arrogant fat man. Baroka’s voice, clearly trying to suppress his anger, also came from that giant sword mech.
“Captain, should we kill him? I really hate this damned, arrogant pig!”
All eyes immediately turned to the dark-haired man who had remained silent from the start. At this moment, he finally reacted—throwing away his cigarette and stepping in front of the giant sword mech, he uttered a single word.
“No.”
What!? Baroka couldn’t believe his ears. Had that man, who had always been cold and merciless and had slaughtered over thirty of his children, changed? Why couldn’t he sense any murderous intent from him now, even under such humiliation?
No, that definitely wasn’t his true thoughts. Baroka felt a sudden pang in his heart, a sense of foreboding.
Because the dark-haired man was extremely calm—but what lay beneath that calmness?
“Baroka, tell your men to step back. I want to see my Li Feng.” The dark-haired man waved casually, and the bright red mechs immediately cleared a wide path, revealing the full appearance of the Li Feng warship before him. Then, like a passerby strolling after a meal, he walked over to Li Feng. Compared to the ship’s massive size, he seemed as tiny as an ant.
“Li Feng…” The dark-haired man murmured softly, placing one hand on the ship’s armor. The cold sensation spread through the ship’s hull straight to his heart—but it made him feel serene.
“Li Feng, do you know? This is the first time someone has looked down on you. And it’s some self-righteous pig. Honestly, I really don’t want to do anything bad on this reunion day. But… I just can’t help it…”
“You’ll support me, won’t you? Just like a family member. In this world, you’ll always be by my side, right?” The dark-haired man’s voice sounded like a lover’s whisper, too soft for those nearby to hear. Yet as he spoke, Li Feng’s massive hull trembled visibly. A glow gradually appeared beneath the dark-haired man’s palm, and invisibly, one of his left arms sank deep into the ship’s armor.
“This…” Everyone’s eyes widened in shock. No one could speak a word. Even the arrogant vice-chairman, who thought he had a sure victory, was left as if in a dream by this scene that defied human common sense.
A dream… a nightmare!!!
In an instant, the Black-Haired man’s voice rose sharply, emitting a nervous, long laugh. He suddenly turned around to face all the pirates. His left arm, which had been inside the warship, was pulled out!!
God! All the pirates gasped in horror. What was that even supposed to be an arm? In the blink of an eye, his left arm had turned into a mass of thin black threads, which densely pierced into Li Feng’s rigid armor plates. Countless arcs of electricity flashed through them, emitting a buzzing sound.
The black threads covered a vast area, enveloping the entire Black-Haired man. Those outside could not see his true appearance; they could only hear his voice, which had suddenly become extremely cold.
“Insults to Li Feng can only be dealt with by Li Feng himself. Use your filthy blood…”
“Bang!!” With a synchronized dull sound, countless gaps suddenly appeared on the smooth surface of Li Feng’s warship. Then, amid the humming sound of mechanical operations, hundreds of massive cannons slowly emerged from the ship’s surface. Their dark muzzles and huge, rugged cannons made all the pirates want to groan at just one glance.
No way… is this still a warship? This is clearly an enhanced fortress!!!
The vice-chairman, who was witnessing the drastic change, was also stunned. He could never have imagined that such a terrifying warship existed in this world. The ship’s surface was almost entirely covered by massive cannons. Damn it, isn’t this cheating? Without using any mods!!!
“Boom!!”
Before he could recover from his shock, countless massive cannons began spewing furious flames. In an instant, dazzling flames exploded in the air, hitting more than half of the Yinfeng warships. Countless metal fragments and large debris rained down, forcing the pirates on the ground to scatter in all directions. The ground shook violently, and within hundreds of meters of Li Feng, almost all mechs were flipped over by the massive shockwaves from the cannon fire.
Only Baroka and his children, who were prepared in advance, managed to escape.
Amid the gunfire, the figure of the Black-Haired man slowly floated upward, with countless terrifying black threads flailing wildly…
Finally, in this extremely violent manner, the Black-Haired man showed his joy at seeing Li Feng again.
