Chapter 7: The Black Contract, Section 1
Sending out planetary coordinates?
Hei Fa’s eyes flashed as he immediately understood the old soldier’s intention.
In his era, Earth’s population had reached explosive levels, making the need to establish colonial planets urgent. Almost every planet that could be modified to suit human habitation was targeted. Yet even this wasn’t enough to satisfy human desires. Between nations, aside from military strength and technology, the most significant difference lay in the number and quality of their colonial planets.
Although this new world wasn’t very large, from Hei Fa’s understanding, more than thirty star systems in the vicinity were highly suitable for living. Coupled with abundant minerals, it was undoubtedly the best location for colonization. It was no exaggeration to say that if China gained control of this region, its power would become unprecedentedly strong, possibly even leading to an era akin to ancient times when one nation dominated all others.
For a soldier, could there be anything more important than this?
The so-called transmission of coordinates likely meant sending out a signal. It was strange that they couldn’t do it themselves.
At this thought, Hei Fa suddenly felt a chill. He then remembered that the language the old soldier used to speak to him was actually the language of this new world.
“I know you have many questions. But guest, I’m afraid I don’t have time to explain them to you. If you have any doubts, you can find answers in the logs at the control center. You can also gain control of this warship there. Trust me, you won’t suffer any loss. This request is a mere trivial task for you.”
The voice grew increasingly aged and dry. Hei Fa was shocked to see that in just a few dozen seconds, the old soldier in front of him had aged even further. His skin was shriveled, seemingly devoid of moisture, and even his eyes had lost their luster.
Could it be? A terrifying thought flashed through Hei Fa’s mind. But before he could figure it out, a muffled sound came from the other side. Looking again, the old soldier had turned into a pile of bones!!
It was time!!!
Hei Fa’s expression changed as he finally understood the origin of the incident.
It must be these loyal soldiers who, during their time jump, encountered temporal turbulence, causing time to accelerate thousands of times around them. That’s why they were forced to land here. Back then, this planet must have been in a primitive state. There must also have been terrifying interstellar storms around the planet, preventing them from sending any messages out and leaving them no choice but to face death helplessly.
No wonder there are so many crashed ships on this planet, no wonder its technological development is so similar to that of humanity, and no wonder there’s such a vast graveyard of ships. These must be the original fleet!
But if that’s the case, doesn’t it mean everything here originated from that fleet? Hei Ba felt dizzy.
What exactly is this? A form of indirect colonization? They probably never imagined that the world today already possesses military strength capable of competing with Earth’s.
Reaching out, Hei Ba gently picked up the antique notebook on the table. After pondering for a moment, a cold expression appeared on his face.
Good. Since coming here was just a coincidence, let’s make that coincidence even bigger and more precise! These loyal soldiers never forgot their mission even in death, and he certainly shouldn’t disappoint them. He would definitely send a message. But before that, he might need to do something else first.
Like establishing a vast underground kingdom.
The control center of the warship was a huge room. Hei Ba found it with little effort. Along the way, he passed dozens of safety valves, but due to a lack of energy, they posed no trouble to him. For someone skilled at controlling machinery, the control center seemed like an unguarded city.
As expected, after just a quick scan, Hei Ba found some special instructions in the core of the control center. The gist was to carry out self-destruction immediately after sending a signal. And the signal wasn’t just a simple photon message—it was a standard space positioning device with the ability to absorb and regenerate energy, allowing it to function for nearly a thousand years even without supplies in space.
Those who are not of our kind surely have different minds. It seems that old soldier must have planned all this long ago. If anyone really came here, nothing good would await them in the end—nothing but becoming the brightest fireworks in the universe. Upon seeing these instructions, Black Hair once again felt deep respect for the old soldier. But since he had arrived here, these instructions were no longer necessary. A red light flashed on the fibers in his left hand, and Black Hair had already activated the control center.
As if by miracle, as the screens of the control center lit up, the entire warship suddenly regained its vitality. Rows of cool air blew out from the air purification system, clearing away the stagnant air. Soft light spread from all directions, creating a sense of peace.
Of course, this was only true in the room where Black Hair was. Before gaining full control and knowing the exact locations of the warship, he wouldn’t dare to tamper with this massive steel monster. Yet, after a simple scan and exploration, he figured out where the sand pirates were.
They were in some rooms on the warship’s belly—probably originally meant as control rooms for landing craft. Now, they had become the sand pirates’ playground. The outer armor had been completely removed, revealing the interior space. All the mechanical facilities on the surface had been torn apart, in terrible condition.
Unfortunately, since the warship was in locked state, the sand pirates couldn’t go any further. All the passages around were sealed with high-strength alloy valves, turning it into a prison-like place.
This was the advantage of Huaguo warships. Compared to other countries in the Federation, Huaguo warships might be much bulkier in size, but their durability and safety were greatly improved. Even their internal locks couldn’t be broken with brute force.
Black Hair smiled triumphantly. He sat down easily in the main control chair, staring at the sand pirates who still knew nothing on the screen, a mocking smile appearing on his face.
“I’ll play an old song for you…”
Muttering to himself, Black Hair pressed his fingers.
