Chapter 6: Fury No One Can Bear – Section 3

Heaven only knows what Black Hair was thinking, but his reckless actions, like a moth flying into a flame, terrified Blood Pupil greatly. His lips were tightly pressed together as he stared intently at the curve moving through the air, sweating profusely.
“Damn it, why isn’t it here yet? If it doesn’t show up soon, I’ll tear you apart when I get back. You’re useless when it counts—I’ve invested so much in you for nothing.”
Fuming, Blood Pupil frantically pressed the remote control in his hand.
“Boom!!!”
Black Hair finally collided with the two lead combat mechs. But what truly shook the square was what happened behind all the mechs.
Rock fragments the size of mills flew everywhere, knocking the nearest mechs off balance. Amidst the dust, the elevator had disappeared without a trace, replaced by a massive blood-red beast. Though the dust obscured everyone’s vision, its enormous rotating crystal rapid-fire cannon clearly identified it—Blood Pupil’s mech… the Demon.
“Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!!!”
The thick barrel of the rotating crystal cannon spun rapidly. Amidst the deafening roar, the nearest guard mechs were instantly overwhelmed by a tsunami of bullets. In just one moment, countless metal shards and dazzling sparks erupted, swirling in a tide of steel and flame. The three unprepared guard mechs were turned into scrap, exploding into brilliant balls of fire. Blood Pupil laughed wildly, taking advantage of the chaos to quickly climb into his beloved cockpit.
At the same time, Black Hair’s lean figure descended upon those two combat mechs with a fierce howl.
Twisting his waist, gathering strength, shaking his shoulders—then a swift thrust!!
In an instant, Black Hair’s face twisted like that of a demon. The thread-like left arm stretched straight again and, with a sharp scream, mercilessly pierced the massive mech beneath him. Its steel armor was as fragile as tofu in the face of his black thread. In just a moment, four agonized screams echoed through the sky once more.
Four more puppets controlled. The remaining guards didn’t even have the strength to scream. Facing their teammates whose direction had changed in an instant, along with that crimson, high-frequency vibrating energy sword, all they could feel was despair.

Is there anything more terrifying than this? No matter how intense the hail of bullets, it cannot stop that dark-haired demon from advancing in his destructive path. With each attack, his allies are turned into deadly enemies. Their numbers keep dwindling while the enemy grows stronger—such a situation is probably beyond anything they’ve ever seen in their lives. No, it’s an nightmare too horrible even to imagine. If they could choose, they would rather return all the commissions given to them by Black Gold, never have been guards at all, and instead live a simple life as ordinary citizens, marry a wife, raise children, and spend their days peacefully. But it’s too late now. Once that dark-haired man made his insane declaration, everyone present entered an irreversible path to destruction. Death… nothing more. It’s all too simple. Due to the sudden appearance of the demon, the remaining guards couldn’t react in time. The chaos provided the perfect opportunity for the dark-haired man to strike swiftly. The four combat mechs, equipped with formidable close-quarters combat capabilities, were like tigers among sheep; their giant hands and swords resembled the scythe of death, each swing sending waves of debris flying. The engines of the mechs and the dying screams of the guards became the only sounds in that space. As wave after wave of flames erupted, the guard corps built at great expense by Black Gold was being reduced at an insane rate. Undoubtedly, this was a one-sided massacre. Despite the remaining guards’ best efforts amid the encirclement, their fate of destruction was inevitable. Piles of flaming steel debris stood out sharply against the hail of bullets, while agonized cries echoed across the square. In just fifteen minutes, the entire square became eerily empty. Aside from the dark-haired man and others, not a single living soul was left. The piles of burning metal debris resembled giant bonfires, illuminating everything in the area clearly—like a hellish scene. “Ding!” Four massive black cables suddenly pulled out from within the mechs, spewing blood. They then immediately transformed into thread-like strands resembling dark clouds. After twisting a few times, they reverted to the form of an arm—except now with a brighter metallic sheen, otherwise identical to before.

The cold sound of heels hitting the rocky ground rang out again, and Black Hair finally appeared before Kare for the second time. But unlike before, the negative elemental force field that had always protected Kare didn’t show any sign of activity this time—as if it had never existed at all.
“Mechanical… mechanical… control…”
Still stunned, Kare resembled an idiot at that moment. His whole body trembled violently, his eyes vacant as he stared into the distance, seemingly unaware of Black Hair’s arrival. The flames from the wreckage of the mech cast flickering light on his face, making him look like a ghost.
After a long while, a wild scream suddenly filled the air.
“That’s impossible!! It absolutely can’t be!! Black Gold cannot be defeated!! You madman, go to hell!! I, Kare, am the ruler of Belin!! Haha… hahahahaha… This must be an illusion!! An illusion!!” Waving his hands wildly, Kare’s face twisted in violent spasms as he vented his anger in a sickening manner.
“Pfft!!”
With a low, muffled sound, the wild scream stopped abruptly. Kare, like a patient waking from a nightmare, stared blankly downward at his arm, which had retracted into his chest. Shock, surprise, confusion gradually appeared on his face, before turning into a bitter smile.
“Why… did this happen…”
“Because you deserve it.” Black Hair raised her head, revealing her cold eyes hidden beneath her long hair.
“Could it be… your… companion…” Kare swallowed hard, and bright red blood slowly seeped from the corners of his mouth. His breathing grew heavier.
“…” Black Hair didn’t answer.
“I really… didn’t expect it…”
With wide eyes, Kare couldn’t say another word. The arm that had suddenly withdrawn from his chest seemed to have taken away all his strength. With a silent sigh, he collapsed to the ground.
As his consciousness grew blurred, Black Hair’s figure gradually faded away, along with the anxious cries of Blood Eyes.
“Head, hurry! Belin’s guard army is coming!!”
