Chapter 6: Fury No One Can Bear – Section 1

No, it was more than just a chill. Karey was shocked to realize that in just a few short sentences, the black-haired man before him had become utterly unpredictable. Under everyone’s gaze, the man with black hair seemed to be enduring unimaginable pain. His sweat-soaked hair hung limp, covering his face completely. His eyes were tightly shut, his lips pressed together, and the massive scar on his temple was red and shiny, twisting slightly. Even his body began to tremble.
The tremors were so severe, as if they were a spreading plague. In just a moment, his hair was matted, and sweat poured down like rain. His form-fitting dark black combat suit was completely soaked with sweat, clinging tightly to his body and revealing a physique that, though not muscular, was undeniably lean and strong.
Suddenly, an indescribable atmosphere enveloped the vast square. Even the guards inside their magic mechs could not escape the overwhelming sense of oppression, which surged like waves, affecting everyone’s mind.
“Head… what is this…” A low voice came out, his blood-red eyes losing all color. Behind him, the girl Suley could no longer bear such terrifying pressure; her eyes rolled back, and she fainted instantly.
After a long while, a metallic-scraping sound slowly filled the air.
“It’s been so long… no one has spoken to me like this in ages…” The black-haired man murmured, his eyes still closed, as if in a dream.
“I remember, a long time ago, someone also threatened me like this. They wanted me to submit, to open my body for their experiments.”
“You…” Karey suddenly felt his throat dry, unable to speak further. At that moment, he realized the situation was no longer under his control.
Even with nearly thirty massive and powerful magic mechs surrounding him, they seemed unable to offer any protection against this man. That feeling of utter loneliness and coldness almost drove Karey mad.
Perhaps he was indeed wrong?
With a sharp sound, under the black-haired man’s powerful left hand, his upper clothes shattered into fragments, revealing his lean physique. The dense rows of wound marks, resembling earthworms, made everyone gasp in shock.
Karey immediately noticed a faint metallic glint starting from the black-haired man’s left shoulder.

“You’re a modified human!!” As if he had discovered something incredible, Kare immediately exclaimed in shock. He could no longer maintain a calm state of mind. It was no wonder he was panicked—the reputation of modified humans was too notorious. It was a terrifying technology despised by the world, capable of transforming a human into something akin to a mech, creating powerful technicians or warriors beyond ordinary levels. Throughout the long history of the magic civilization, such unnatural, powerful beings had caused irreparable losses to humanity. If not for the extreme difficulty of successful modifications, which kept their numbers low, the world would likely be very different now.

“Modified human?” Hei Ba sneered coldly, slowly opening his eyes. “What a ridiculous term.”

Gently raising his hand, he moved it. Under Kare’s astonished gaze, Hei Ba, who had already been bound by the negative elemental field, began to move slowly, inch by inch, out of the field’s range.

“I originally only wanted to deal with Sulei’s problem. But now…” Under the light, Hei Ba’s left hand rose slightly, with his right hand resting on its shoulder. The muscles in his face suddenly twitched violently, as if he were in extreme pain. At the same time, veins appeared all over his body, pulsing faintly as if they had their own life.

“You all are going to die!”

“Bang!!”

With a deafening explosion, right before everyone’s horrified eyes, Hei Ba’s left hand, glowing with a metallic sheen, violently disintegrated into a swarm of thread-like strands resembling dark clouds. Immediately afterward, with a whooshing sound, they shot toward the four mechs closest to him.

Who knew what those strands were made of? The thick armor of the magic mechs was as fragile as paper in front of them. Without even a chance to react, their sharp tips pierced through the armor. Soon, agonizing screams filled everyone’s ears.

Heavens! What was that?

Not only Kare but everyone present was stunned by Hei Ba’s sudden change. The screams of those four mech technicians still echoed in their ears, agonizing as if they were in hell.

Yet the guards who could hold their ground in the Black Gold Nest were undoubtedly elite talents nurtured by Black Gold. Though they hadn’t reached the level of warriors, they were far stronger than ordinary mercenaries. In just an instant, they understood the situation. There was no need for Kare to give any orders—fierce attacks had already begun.

“Dada dada dada…”

The bangs of the crystal machine guns sounded like beans being shaken. Countless bullets formed a web of death, completely encircling Black Hair, Blood Eyes, and the others. Each bullet was nearly half the size of a human body; once hit, there was no chance of survival—instead, it would instantly turn into a cloud of blood.

However, due to the delays and inaccuracies of the mechs, hitting humans who were only over a meter tall was by no means easy. Moreover, Blood Eyes was a battle-hardened assassin. Despite holding Sulei, a living person, in her arms, she moved with incredible agility, dodging and weaving through the gunfire, somehow managing to stay alive.

As for Black Hair, his left hand was still connected to the four mechs around him, leaving him unable to move. In the face of such intense attacks, there was no way to dodge.

If he still needed to dodge…

“Crack!”

With a slight snap, two of the four mechs attacked by the filaments suddenly stepped forward together, forming a tight barrier in front of Black Hair. Their left-hand shields rose, adopting a defensive stance. Then, amidst the dense hail of bullets, countless metal fragments flew out.

No!! How is this possible?

Alarms filled the channels of the mech guards.
