Chapter 3: The Heart of a Thug, Section 4

To be honest, ever since Hei Fa arrived after UncleBuick retired, he had always behaved with great gentlemanly manners. Though he wasn’t particularly handsome, his gentle smile and composed demeanor almost won over the hearts of all the scavengers, earning them deep respect for him. Even UncleBuick came to believe that he had truly met a powerful, well-mannered fallen noble.
To such an extent that he even forgot a sentence Hei Fa had once said:
“I am a thug.”
What is a thug? Is it someone who only knows how to fight, kill, rob, and oppress others? Or is it someone who is cruel and heartless toward the weak but grovels in front of those stronger than them? Or perhaps someone who uses their power to disrupt a country’s stability and drag it into endless war?
If all these qualify as being a thug, then the people of the former Earth Federation would surely laugh their heads off upon hearing this.
Experiences, no matter how deliberately forgotten, remain undeniably real.
UncleBuick had no idea what kind of man he had rescued from the desert. Nor did he realize that on a once-prosperous and highly developed planet, Hei Fa’s name alone could make the strongest nations tremble and the most powerful leaders weep.
So he still thought he could truly use this fallen noble as a pawn in his hands and exchange him for sufficient benefits at the right time.
“I can’t agree with your assumption,” UncleBuick said slowly, shaking his head. His fat face wrinkled as if he were experiencing profound pain.
“You misunderstand me. Hei Fa, although the incident with the Warriors Association was indeed caused by me, I had no ill intentions. I’m sure you understand the hardships of the scavengers in Cukare Town. We’re already living on the edge of poverty; we can’t afford any more strife. Resources are limited, and they should go to those who need them most.”
“Is that it?” Hei Fa raised an eyebrow, his expression half-smiling.

“Of course, what else can I do? Though I’m the leader of these scumbags, I’m still just a scavenger. Facing the powerful Warrior Association, I really have nothing to offer. I can only unite everyone to resist together. If you still consider me for having saved you before, please help me once more. I’ll definitely not treat you badly.” OldBuick also raised his head, his gaze meeting Black Hair’s directly, unyielding and without a trace of fear.

Hearing his words, Black Hair fell silent. After a long while, he walked over to the window and looked out at the busy crowd outside.

“How can I help?”

“It’s simple. Just help me take down the Warrior Association’s stronghold in Cukkare Town. You’ve just destroyed their Silver Knight, so there shouldn’t be much combat strength left there. Once it’s taken down, I can unite with other scavengers to block the Warrior Association from entering again. Given their reputation, they probably won’t dare to carry out blatant robberies. As for the reward, you can ask for whatever you want. As long as I can do it, I won’t skimp in the slightest.”

Hearing that Black Hair was considering it, OldBuick was overjoyed and quickly put forward his request. Finally, he even went to the bar to pour a glass of red wine and brought it to Black Hair.

“I, OldBuick, have never asked for help in my life. This time, for the sake of those scumbags under my command, I can only ask once. Black Hair, my men have no chance of winning in such intense battles. Everything depends on your abilities. Please don’t reject me.”

Black Hair pondered for a moment before slowly reaching out to take the glass. Suddenly, he asked, “There will be many strong guys there, right?”

“What?” OldBuick was stunned, clearly unable to follow Black Hair’s train of thought.

“The strongest ones are those who excel in certain areas—like operating, modifying, designing mechs, or working with mental networks. If I’m not wrong, the Warrior Association should have many such people.” As he spoke, Black Hair walked over and sat down.

“Yes, you’re right,” OldBuick nodded. “But there’s no need to worry. Though the Warrior Association is a large organization, it doesn’t have much influence in Cukkare Town. And in terms of talent, how can it compare to us?”

“Oh?” Black Hair became interested. “Tell me more.”

“Hehe, Black Hair, I’m really curious about you now. Have you even heard of the Black Prison? That’s common knowledge even children know…”

“Black Dad” said, then sat down across from Black Hair. He reached for the red wine on the bar and poured himself a glass. After waiting a while and seeing no reaction from Black Hair, he scratched his head awkwardly.
“Black Prison is a planet, very close to Xieke Planet. There’s only one prison on the entire planet—it’s where all the most serious criminals are locked up. Due to the harsh conditions and lax management, almost no one can get out. In the jargon of the underworld, once you end up in Black Prison, it’s as good as facing death.” “Black Dad” gradually caught up with Black Hair’s train of thought and spoke more casually.
“But honestly, the serious criminals who end up there are usually extremely dangerous guys. Most of them are outcasts who don’t fit in this world. Almost all of them are covered in blood. It’s only fitting if they die.”
“What? Doesn’t anyone care if prisoners die in prison?”
“Care? How can they care?” “Black Dad” snorted and grinned. “Any serious criminal from Black Prison who manages to get out is already a big shot. How would the guards dare to interfere? As long as they don’t escape, it’s fine.”
“Never mind, let’s not talk about this. Black Hair, about the Warrior Association… you see…” “Black Dad” clapped his hands together and smiled awkwardly.
“I can help, but there are conditions.” Black Hair tilted his head slightly, gazing at the sunset outside the window. The hair in front of his forehead appeared dreamy under the sunlight.
“Oh!? Go on, tell me…” “Black Dad” became excited, his chubby hands fidgeting anxiously.
I’m not afraid you’ll set conditions—once you do, the matter is settled. In fact, beyond wanting Black Hair’s help, “Black Dad” was also afraid of angering this young man. After all, he could only rely on this one big ally right now.
“I want your mech transporter and all the parts and mechs in the disassembly factory right now.”
Black Hair took a gentle sip of red wine and said with a smile.
