Chapter 8: Slaughter (Part 2)

The Spellcraft Race is an abnormal existence in this world—anyone who practices spellcraft is essentially a top-tier expert, as there are no weaklings among them. Of course, the Spellcraft Race is extremely rare and mysterious, rarely seen in everyday life. Yet here, there were three of them, each with abnormally high strength. Just the power of these three was enough to suppress thousands of members of the Tianling Race.

Guo Shier tried again, shouting, “Hurry up!”
Most of the Tianling Race members were trembling with fear, but not all. A skilled warrior clad in royal armor had just arrived. His armor stood nine meters tall, and he was a very famous expert among the Tianling Race. Thanks to this royal armor obtained from ancient ruins, he held a significant position among them and was one of their leaders.

Bas Rong was extremely upset. He had just emerged from the underground ruins when he received news that his people had been defeated miserably, with many skilled members killed. He rushed to the city center square and saw four people shouting from low above. With a slight movement of his hands, a glowing shield appeared in his left hand, followed by a strange, glowing long sword in his right. He stepped forward slowly and asked, “Who are you? Why did you kill my people?”

Guo Shier couldn’t help but laugh—another guy who didn’t understand the situation. He asked, “Are you a high-ranking member of the Tianling Race?”

Bas Rong stepped forward, each step causing tremors as it hit the ground. He stared intently at Guo Shier and demanded, “Answer me! Why did you kill my people?”

Guo Shier ignored him and turned instead to ask, “Brother Li Ran, Sister Zhi Wu Zhen—who will take action?”

Zhi Wu Zhen wasn’t interested. She said, “You two decide for yourselves. I’m not interested in such weak people!”

Li Ran laughed and said, “Alright, alright, Shier. The weapon he’s holding is a common light blade in the universe—quite powerful. You can give it a try.”

Guo Shier smiled bitterly. “Sigh, you’re all lazy. Only I’m hardworking. I’ll do it… I’ll do it…” Since his brother and sister didn’t want to fight, he had no choice but to act himself. He certainly couldn’t let Sericeline do it.

As soon as he decided to fight, Guo Shier’s aura changed dramatically. The Moon Blade appeared in his hand, instantly transforming into a long sword, with countless runes flowing across it. He slowly stepped forward. He had some understanding of royal armor, and his sense of fear had largely disappeared.

Guo Shier said, “Do I need a reason to kill you?” It was foolish to argue about this now; they had already killed so many members of the Tianling clan. No matter who started it, at this point, it was either death or survival. Moreover, it was the Tianling clan that had taken the first move. The man before him seemed confused about the situation, and he didn’t bother to explain.

As expected, Guo Shier’s reply enraged Bas Rong. He shouted, “Since you dare kill my clan members, don’t leave! Leave their bodies here!”

Sericeline couldn’t help but laugh. She looked at Bas Rong with a sad expression, thinking, “This man is an idiot, probably too arrogant…” Recalling her own past, she became cautious. Without understanding the opponent’s strength, one had to be extremely careful, otherwise, one might die without even knowing how.

Li Ran said from behind, “Don’t kill him. We need a captive, and this man fits the requirements.”

Guo Shier replied, “I’ll give it a try.” He wasn’t confident. If the royal armor worked well, he wasn’t sure he could capture the opponent. Killing him didn’t seem difficult, but capturing him was challenging. The previous few Tianling clan members in royal armor had been killed at incredible speeds, without any struggle—meaning he had eliminated or severely injured them before they could fully display their strength.

Bas Rong approached the four of them. The royal armor couldn’t fly high; it could only move near the ground, reaching at most a hundred meters before becoming ineffective. The four of them were flying in the air, about two or three hundred meters above the ground. So Bas Rong shouted loudly, “Come down! All of you, come down!”

The other Tianling clan members weren’t as ignorant as Bas Rong. They had seen the extraordinary strength of these people. Unfortunately, most of those in royal armor were dead or injured, and the survivors stayed far away. No one came to warn Bas Rong; they just watched helplessly as he recklessly provoked these top experts.

Guo Shier shook his head and dived downward with his Moon Blade.

Li Ran glanced back at the swarm of Void Worms, noticing they were getting closer. He couldn’t help but remind him, “Shier, finish it quickly. Don’t delay. If you can’t capture him, just kill him! We don’t have time to waste here.”

Guo Shier replied in a hurry.

As soon as Guo Shier moved, Bas Rong knew something was wrong. Messages from the Royal Armed Forces told him that Guo Shier’s speed was too fast—their locking devices couldn’t even lock onto him. He immediately felt as if facing a formidable enemy. After all, he was one of the top experts of the Tianling Clan; he wasn’t someone without any experience. He quickly adopted a defensive stance and activated the maximum defense mode of his Royal Armed Forces.

Bas Rong stomped hard on the ground, and with a loud roar, he leaped into the air to meet Guo Shier, who was diving down at him.

Guo Shier was determined to fight head-on with his opponent, and Bas Rong shared the same intention, so both launched attacks mid-air.

Bas Rong had immense confidence in his light blade, while Guo Shier was equally confident in his Moon Blade.

Ding… whoosh… boom…

All the people of the Tianling Clan clearly saw that that small figure had managed to split the nine-meter-tall Royal Armed Forces in half, sending it flying hundreds of meters away along a graceful arc. Bas Rong’s roars made the people of the Tianling Clan tremble with fear.

How could Guo Shier miss such an opportunity? He rushed forward and wildly swung his Moon Blade mid-air. He was in high spirits—his opponent’s light blade was indeed remarkable, able to withstand the fierce strikes of his Moon Blade without damage. But such immense force, transmitted to the Royal Armed Forces, was too much even for an energy-driven weapon; it was instantly flung aside.

After seven or eight consecutive slashes, before Bas Rong could complete his arc-shaped throw, he was forcefully slashed back to the ground. With a loud crash, he hit the ground hard, creating a large pit in the square. His light blade also completely shattered. Guo Shier swooped down from the air, his Moon Blade stretching to ten meters in length. With a loud shout, “Die!” he forgot everything in his excitement.

Li Ran couldn’t help but scream, “Leave someone alive!”

Qi Wu Zhen chuckled and said, “The kid is going crazy again.”

Hearing this, Guo Shier became slightly more sober, but he couldn’t stop attacking, nor did he want to. Stopping now would be disadvantageous for him, so he continued to strike with all his might.

Bas Rong let out a fierce roar. Knowing he was at a life-or-death moment, he frantically raised his left hand. His light blade had been destroyed by Guo Shier, leaving only a light shield in his hand. In an instant, he channeled all the energy of his Royal Armed Forces into the shield. He knew very well that if he failed to block, he would be split in two.

Boom! Crack!

Bas Rong curled up into a ball—it wasn’t easy for a royal warrior nine meters tall to do that. He hid under a light shield, which glowed brightly. At that moment, if Guo Shier’s Moon Blade hadn’t struck the shield, it would have exploded on its own due to the excessive energy input.
When the Moon Blade struck the shield, both emitted blinding light and a deafening explosion. Immediately afterward, the shield cracked and completely shattered, with countless sparks flying as it was utterly destroyed. Yet Bas Rong escaped, unkillable by the Moon Blade.
Guo Shier raised the Moon Blade to strike again but suddenly remembered he wanted to take a prisoner. Another strike would leave Bas Rong with little chance of survival. Realizing this, Bas Rong despondently closed his eyes, waiting for death.
The Moon Blade stopped in front of Bas Rong. With a wave of his hand, Guo Shier made the blade disappear, and a giant palm descended violently upon him. Countless runes swirled around Guo Shier’s body before flowing into his palm, forming massive hands and fists that smashed down on Bas Rong with thunderous force. The sound echoed throughout the ancient city, causing every member of the Tianling tribe who witnessed it to tremble.
After a brutal beating, Bas Rong’s royal armor began to crumble. Within minutes, Guo Shier reduced the armor to fragments, revealing the frail Bas Rong beneath. He was much thinner than Guo Shier, and their combat skills were worlds apart. Now that Bas Rong’s armor was broken, even Celine could easily kill him.
Grabbing Bas Rong by the neck, Guo Shier pulled him out of the pit and threw him forward. Bas Rong rolled on the ground several times, vomiting incessantly. The brutal beating felt like riding a roller coaster seventeen or eighteen times—he was completely dazed.
Li Ran stepped forward, reached out, and quickly formed a not-too-large palm with runes, dragging Bas Rong over like a dead dog. He asked, “Are you a high-ranking leader of the Tianling tribe?”
Bas Rong suddenly opened his mouth and spat out something red and green. Before Li Ran could be hit, the phantom palm deftly flipped and slapped back, sending the vomit straight at him. Bas Rong’s face was covered in it, looking grotesquely red and green.
Qi Wu Zhen couldn’t help but curse, “How disgusting!”
Celine turned away; she too couldn’t bear to watch such a vile sight.

Guo Shier shook his head and said, “A few slaps will wake him up; he’s still dizzy.”
Li Ran raised his hand slightly, and an imaginary rune-hand slammed onto Bas Rong’s face with a series of crackling sounds, making his head swing like a rattle.
The poor Bas Rong couldn’t resist at all, but the slaps finally woke him up. His face began to swell rapidly, soon looking like a pig’s head. He mumbled pleas for mercy, “Stop… stop… no… don’t… I, uh… I am… I am from the clan… a high-ranking… high-ranking…” He swallowed hard and continued, “…I am from the upper ranks… I am… I am an elder…”
Guo Shier turned back and reminded him, “Brother Li Ran, we need to hurry…”
Li Ran also turned back. Qi Wu Zhen simply flew high into the sky to observe, then quickly descended and said, “It will take at most ten minutes… No matter what happens, we must leave!”
The group spoke in the universal language of the rune world, which was different from the local language, so the people of the Tianling Clan couldn’t understand a word.
Li Ran turned his gaze back to Bas Rong, who couldn’t help but shudder.
