Chapter 4: Information from the Vast World (Part 1)

Qi Wu Zhen said, “The magma here is different from that in the Spellworld—there’s only a very small amount of fiery evil energy. I can only extract a portion of the useful energy. Moreover, the combination of fire and spells here is much weaker, making it difficult to control. I need time to think and make adjustments. Next time we encounter such a place, I’ll be able to adapt better. But it’s fortunate to even come across such an environment.”
Guo Shier said, “This world is already quite good. When we went to other small worlds, we were heavily suppressed. Here, there’s almost no suppression or rejection. As long as we adjust properly, we can unleash the power of spells.”
Li Ran also said, “Right. There’s no force suppressing us here. If adjusted well, it could even be of great help to us.”
Selin turned to look at the vast expanse of solidified magma, deeply astonished. This power exceeded her imagination. Under Qi Wu Zhen’s control, the magma had cooled down—over a large area—forming vast stretches of solid ground, with wisps of white smoke rising slowly. She forced a wry smile, unable to utter a word. The gap was so huge that she couldn’t even feel envy.
Beyond the magma region lay a desolate plain. Hot winds blew, and the ground was covered with cracks wide enough to span a foot, crisscrossing everywhere, devoid of any sign of life. Occasionally, rusted metal fragments and bones could be seen scattered on the ground. Then, Selin spotted a small fortress and said excitedly, “Is that an ancient ruin? Is it a relic of the Tianling clan?”
Li Ran took a look and said, “It doesn’t seem like it…”
Guo Shier said, “It looks like a defensive fortress. Let’s go take a look.”
The remaining structure resembled an upside-down bowl, torn into several pieces, but its original shape could still be faintly discerned. From afar, it appeared to be a tiny building, but up close, it turned out to be as tall as a hundred meters. And this was only the remaining part; the original height must have been even greater. Covering an area of over a thousand square meters, it was truly a massive structure.

The remaining walls turned out to be rocks over ten meters thick; it was unclear how they had been constructed. It was pure rock, with no signs of human intervention, as if it had formed naturally, which surprised Guo Shier. He knew that such huge rocks could not have been gathered and built by human effort. He exclaimed in amazement, “It’s truly amazing. How did they build such rock structures?”

The ground was covered with broken rock fragments, along with a massive crack that ran through the center of the building, splitting it in two. This was clearly the work of natural forces, definitely not human-made.

Judging from the torn fault line, there was a huge space in the center of the building, surrounded by countless small rooms, likely intended for living. The four of them flew up, as there was no way to reach the top from the ground. In just a few moments, they stood above the giant central space.

There were countless giant pillars, most of which were broken; only a dozen or so remained intact, adorned with exquisite sculptures. They depicted strange beasts, each with bared fangs and claws, looking extremely lifelike, as if they were real. Guo Shier took a quick look and said, “What kind of beasts are these? I seem to have never seen them before.”

Li Ran was stunned after just one glance. He murmured, “Damn! Cosmic Star Beasts! They’re all Cosmic Star Beasts. These definitely shouldn’t exist here! They must have come from the Greater World!” At that moment, he was absolutely certain that the Tianling clan members had come from the Greater World, or rather, that the ancestors of the Tianling clan had entered this world from the Greater Universe.

Guo Shier reacted quickly. He said, “You mean they came from the Greater World? Well… that means there must be a path to the Greater World here!”

Li Ran replied, “Even if there’s no path to the Greater World, we might still find clues about how the Tianling clan arrived. Either way, it’s worth our effort. Hehe, interesting. I never expected to see so many sculptures of Star Beasts here.”

Qi Wu Zhen asked, “What are Star Beasts?” She had no concept of Star Beasts at all and couldn’t understand. She asked again, “Was that huge creature we saw in the Small World last time—something infinitely large—also a Star Beast?”

Li Ran said, “That wasn’t a Star Beast. It was just a monster unique to that Small World. But that huge creature already had some characteristics of Star Beasts.”

Qi Wu Zhen asked, “How do you know that?”

Li Ran smiled slightly and said, “I know.” He didn’t explain, nor could he.
Qi Wu Zhen gave him a disdainful look and said, “It’s fine if you don’t say anything.”
Guo Shier couldn’t help but laugh. He said, “Sister Zhen, Brother Li Ran can’t answer because it’s a memory brought by the soul.”
Qi Wu Zhen was stunned for a while before saying, “No wonder you’re so powerful. I see.” In fact, she had misunderstood. In the world of talismans, a soul with memories could, by chance, take over a body, but the probability was so low it could be ignored, and very few professionals knew about it. She had heard of it occasionally, but as a master of souls herself, she naturally understood the difficulty involved.
Qi Wu Zhen didn’t know that, after being influenced by Guo Shier’s soul scriptures, she too could be reborn. However, if she didn’t enter the Greater World, she could only be reborn in the world of star worship or return to the world of talismans. This was why Li Ran and Guo Shier were desperate to return to the Greater World. Compared to the Greater World, the projection worlds and other smaller worlds were far too limited and incomparable.
The soul scriptures Li Ran obtained could strengthen the soul. It was after obtaining these two sections of soul scriptures that Guo Shier’s strength truly soared, allowing him to become a true master of souls. Aside from talismans, his soul power was extremely strong. Even if he wasn’t as good as Li Ran, he was almost on par with Qi Wu Zhen—after all, Qi Wu Zhen had practiced for countless years; calling her an old sage wouldn’t be an exaggeration.
As long as Li Ran and Guo Shier entered the Greater World, with their skills as masters of souls, even if they died the moment they entered, they would be reborn smoothly and never return to the smaller worlds. Moreover, Guo Shier wouldn’t be reborn unknowingly like before. With his soul so powerful, he could survive even without a physical body and find a suitable one to rebirth in.
There were countless broken giant pillars on the ground, revealing the forms of various shattered star beasts. It was unknown what material the pillars were made of. Even though they were broken, there were no signs of weathering, and despite being fractured, they didn’t seem old at all, as if they had just been created and accidentally damaged. Guo Shier couldn’t help but say, “It’s as if they just broke, just like new ones… This material is strange.”

Li Ran recognized it and said, “This is siluminium. Yeah, it contains siluminium, which is why it doesn’t decay. Siluminium is extremely stable—more stable than gold. Once cast, almost nothing can erode it. It’s a substance unique to the Greater World; I’ve never seen it in this world before.”
Guo Shier asked, “Siluminium? Is it a metal?”
Li Ran nodded and said, “When siluminium penetrates most substances, it gives them these properties. But once it’s embedded, it’s very difficult to extract. Look at all those giant pillars—just a fist-sized amount of siluminium would be enough to process them all. Hehe, trying to refine siluminium back from these pillars would not be worth the effort.” Seeing Guo Shier’s eager expression, he couldn’t help but give him a reminder.
Guo Shier immediately lost his enthusiasm. He indeed wanted to refine the siluminium from them; it was highly attractive to him as an excellent material for making containers.
“Too bad. I really wanted to extract some to use.”
Li Ran shook his head and said, “The Greater World has materials that are thousands of times more abundant than those in the Lesser World. But what’s produced in the Lesser World… may not exist in the Greater World. For example, the specialties of our Spell World, especially various naturally formed spells, don’t exist in the Greater World. As for various essential spells, like natural wood spells or natural fire spells, they’re unheard of there. Hehe, if these spells could still work once we enter the Greater World…”
Guo Shier couldn’t help but interject, “Then we could change the world!”
Li Ran smiled and said, “Changing the world might be impossible, but emerging as a new force? There’s no problem with that.”
Guo Shier said, “If spells could be recognized by the rules of the Greater World, then… I can’t imagine the implications. Hehe.” He was very optimistic about the future.
Li Ran said, “The smaller the world, the greater the rules; the larger the world, the smaller the rules. Hehe, I’m very confident about the Greater World.”
Ceciline barely understood a word. She couldn’t grasp their conversation—nothing about greater or lesser worlds, or rules or irregularities. She felt like an idiot. She could understand each word they said individually, but when put together, she didn’t understand a thing. Unable to hold back any longer, she said, “What are you talking about? I… I don’t understand.”
Qi Wuzhen smiled and said, “Ignore them. It would be strange if you understood. What they’re talking about isn’t about this world.”
Ceciline wondered, “What do you mean by ‘world’?”

Neither Li Ran nor Guo Shier had any interest in explaining. To make Celine understand the meaning of the world, the only way was through inheritance; simply telling her would hardly help her grasp a basic concept. Guo Shier said with a smile, “Stop asking. Even if I explain, you won’t understand.” Celine felt very frustrated, her eyes showing disappointment. Guo Shier added, “This has nothing to do with you. Even if you knew what the world is, it wouldn’t help you at all.”
