Chapter 10: News ofKumoku (Part 1)

Guo Shier asked, “What was the name of that spellcaster you met back then?” He was quite curious. Since he had no real idea what the Tianling tribe was like, he came up with this question. Professionals in this world were rare; after traveling so much, he had only seen a few.
Sericeline paused for a moment before saying, “Are you referring to the professional I fought against?”
Guo Shier smiled and said, “Yes. I’m really curious—did you win, or did he win?”
Sericeline replied, “It was a draw. Hehe, I didn’t win, nor did he. That person was very strong… though not as strong as an adult. He fought me head-on for eleven rounds, and neither of us could gain the upper hand, so we stopped.”
Guo Shier couldn’t help but laugh and said, “Sericeline, he held back…”
Sericeline didn’t believe it at all. “How is that possible? I think he gave it his all. Our strengths were pretty similar.”
Li Ran said, “That’s right. He held back. Professionals have countless tactics, and direct combat is rarely used, especially when dealing with outsiders. He must have been holding back.”
Sericeline thought for a while and had to admit they made sense. She said, “I don’t know if he held back or not. He wanted to ask me something, but I was impatient, so he suggested a fight. After it was a draw… Well, no wonder. I get it now.” Eventually, she couldn’t help but curse, “That bastard! He tricked me!”
Guo Shier smiled and said, “He didn’t trick you. He was just avoiding trouble. Maybe he was eager to get information, so he used that method. That person’s skills are amazing—he can fully control his power. He’s not an ordinary professional. By the way, what was his name?”
Sericeline thought for a moment before saying, “Hmm, he seemed to tell me his name… Oh, right. He said his name wasKumoku.”
Guo Shier was stunned. He stared at Sericeline intently and said, “You… what did you say?” Unable to control himself, his aura surged suddenly, suppressing everyone in the room except Li Ran and Qi Wu Zhen. That fierce aura made everyone standing there feel as if they had fallen into a cold pond—shivering all over, even having trouble breathing, with a sense of suffocation.
Li Ran couldn’t help but laugh. He said, “I didn’t expect to find him here. Hehe, Shier, congratulations.”

Guo Shier quickly restrained his aura. He could hardly believe that Kuumu and Monier, whom he had failed to find in the world of spells, had also arrived at the Star Sacrifice. Still unconvinced, he hurriedly asked, “Does he have white hair? Is his name Kuumu? Is there a woman with him?” He posed a series of questions and eagerly grabbed Ceresil’s shoulders.

Ceresil frowned slightly, enduring the pain in her shoulders as she said, “You… be gentle… it hurts…”

Guo Shier quickly let go. Anxiously, he urged, “Hurry up, tell me!”

Ceresil understood that the man must be very important to Guo Shier. She said, “He said… his name is Kuumu. There’s no woman with him. Yes, he does have long white hair.”

Guo Shier, who had already given up hope, was overjoyed to hear news from his master. He said, “Did he… give you any communication talismans specific to our spellcraft clan?”

Seeing Guo Shier’s panic, Ceresil realized how crucial that man was to him. She said, “I… I don’t know about any communication talismans. He only gave me a talisman pouch…” She smiled bitterly. In truth, she knew well that if she had received that man’s talisman, she could exchange anything with Guo Shier. Unfortunately, he hadn’t given her any talismans at that time.

Disappointment filled Guo Shier’s eyes. Reluctantly, he asked, “Where did you meet him? Is it far from here? By the way, did he say where he was going? What information did he want to obtain?” After thinking for a moment, he added, “When did you meet?”

Ceresil didn’t answer but instead smirked cunningly. She had realized just how important this news was to Guo Shier, so she deflected by saying, “Ah, my knife… seems a bit damaged…” She pulled out her short sword and examined it carefully, showing a pained expression along with a hint of resentment.

Guo Shier was furious. How dare this girl play such tricks? It was utterly unreasonable. But he had no choice at the moment. He said, “Let me take a look…” He snatched both knives and inspected them briefly before saying, “There’s nothing wrong with these knives… just poor quality. Answer my questions quickly. If you satisfy me, I won’t mind giving you two knives.” Of course, he knew what this woman wanted.

Sure enough, as soon as Guo Shier made this promise, Ceresil immediately beamed and said, “Then I’m extremely grateful to you, sir.”

Guo Shier impatiently said, “Hurry up, tell me!”

Ceriselle said, “It was just a few dozen days ago. Well… he asked about finding a supply city. I met him in the wilderness.”
Guo Shier asked, “Which city?”
Ceriselle giggled and said, “My sword… needs a spell. Um, right, my sword isn’t of good quality. Could I get two swords instead… my lord?”
Guo Shier felt an urge to hit her—here she was again. Gritting his teeth, he said, “Fine, fine. I’ll reforged one for you. Just tell me which city he’s going to.”
Ceriselle said, “Okay, okay. I’ll tell you…” She was wise enough not to test Guo Shier’s patience any further and said, “It’s this city.”
Guo Shier flipped his wrist, and a message token appeared in his palm. It had been given to him by Kuumu a long time ago. He wasn’t sure if it would work here, as their message tokens had all been reforged. With no other choice, he sent the token out. A red glow flashed, and the token disappeared.
“Lord Tulata, could you help me?”
Tulata rushed forward and said, “My lord, please give your orders.”
Guo Shier said, “Tell your subordinates to find a spellcaster named Kuumu. If they can find him, I’ll reward them handsomely.”
Tulata was overjoyed. This was easy to accomplish, and the generous reward from Guo Shier filled him with excitement. He immediately summoned his subordinates and assigned them the task, offering his own reward as well, hoping they would find Kuumu quickly. Even if they didn’t get the big reward, he wouldn’t slack off. Winning Guo Shier’s friendship was more valuable than anything; he wouldn’t take advantage of the situation like Ceriselle had.
Soon, more than a dozen flying vehicles headed toward the city as the order was quickly spread.
Because of this news, Guo Shier’s goodwill toward Ceriselle increased greatly. His soul trembled slightly as he said, “That handsome old man… you’re absolutely stunning…” Then he added, “Thank you, handsome old man!” He said it sincerely.
The handsome old man replied, “Nonsense. I’m always handsome. Hmph. You didn’t suffer any hardship by listening to the old man, did you? That girl isn’t bad, hehe.” He laughed in a somewhat lewd manner.
Suddenly, Guo Shier felt someone gently pulling at his sleeve. Turning around, he saw Ceriselle staring at him with a pitiful expression. He couldn’t help but tease her, “Why are you staring at me?”
Ceriselle wanted to bite him. He had made a promise yet was acting silly now. Stammering, she said, “The sword… my sword…”

Guo Shier tried to act as if he had just realized something and said, “Oh, you mean this knife? Here, it’s back to you!” He handed her the pair of knives in his hands.
Cerislin was on the verge of going crazy. Tears welled in her eyes as she grabbed Guo Shier’s arm and coquettishly said, “You can’t do this… You can’t go back on your word. Um… um… I want new ones…”
Guo Shier’s hair stood on end, and he felt goosebumps all over his body. He was utterly amazed by this girl’s audacity. But he wasn’t annoyed now because he had obtained the most important information from her. Even if she asked for a sacrificial treasure, he wouldn’t hesitate to give it to her. In a good mood, he continued to tease her, “New what?”
Cerislin pressed her body close to him and said sweetly, “New knives… knives!”
Knives… knives…
Guo Shier was completely overwhelmed by her coquettishness. Finally, he gave in and said, “I know, I know. It’s just that I’ll reforge a pair of knives for you. It’s easy. Don’t worry.”
He took the pair of knives from Cerislin’s hands, flipped his wrist, and the knives disappeared. Guo Shier’s soul trembled slightly as he said, “Handsome old man, since you like this girl, help her reforge a pair of knives.”
The Handsome Old Man didn’t refuse. He had forged countless things, so reforging a pair of knives was a piece of cake for him. He said straightforwardly, “No problem. Ask her if she wants them in the original size and if she has any other requirements.”
Guo Shier asked, “Cerislin, do you still want them in the original size? Are there any special requirements?”
Cerislin smiled happily. Her greatest wish had been to possess a pair of knives forged by the Spellcraft Clan, and now it had come true here. She quickly listed her requirements: “I hope they’re stronger, preferably with ice attributes. Um… and also sharpness attributes…” She listed five or six requirements before looking at Guo Shier anxiously.
Since Guo Shier heard it, that meant the Handsome Old Man had heard it too. The Handsome Old Man informed Guo Shier and said, “It’s a simple request. This girl is an idiot; she doesn’t understand the true mysteries of the Spellcraft Clan. Anyway, I’m too lazy to explain further. I’ll forge them for her. Hehe, although they won’t be as good as a sacrificial treasure, they can at least improve the quality of the knives several times over.”
Cerislin pressed on, “Um… can… can your lord really do that?”

Borondu was on the verge of passing out. If Ceresil’s twin blades could reach such a level, even the most famous weapons among the blade clans might not be able to compare. These long and short blades would surely become famous in the future. He was extremely eager; if Guo Shier could help him refine them, even just enhancing one of them would satisfy him greatly. Yet he knew deep down that this was just a dream. At this moment, he wished he could become a woman—willing to act spoiled just to do so.
