Chapter 5: The Blade Clan’s Boron (Part 2)

It took great effort for the twin blades to cut apart the Virtual Symbol Hand. Qi Wu Zhen sneered, “Is that all you can do? Try again!” With that, she launched another palm strike. She saw no need for other tactics—just this ordinary attack method was enough to leave Boron in a desperate situation.

Boron fought desperately to defend himself, his face drenched in sweat. He couldn’t believe his opponent was so powerful. He focused all his energy on sensing his lost twin blades, the true weapons suited to him. The blades in his hands were merely backups, preventing him from fully unleashing his strength. Desperation made his eyes turn red.

Below, the Mechanical Clan members fled in panic. The twin blades trapped below moved around wildly, as if alive, slashing and flying around. They were blades that had gained sentience; even separated from Boron, they continued to fly around, hoping to return to their master.

Wherever Boron moved upstairs, the twin blades followed below, slashing at the floorboards with blinding speed. But under Qi Wu Zhen’s spell, the blades couldn’t break through the floors.

Qi Wu Zhen struck again with a palm blow. Boron was furious. Even though his backup blades had blocked the attack from the Virtual Symbol Hand, Qi Wu Zhen’s hand still carried flames. Soon, his twin blades showed signs of melting. Their once mirror-smooth surfaces became mottled, as if eroded over countless years, emitting pained cries in his hands.

With a roar, Boron threw the twin blades away. He brushed his hands at his waist, and another pair of twin blades appeared. He grew worried—these were his last backup blades. If they were damaged again, he would have to face his enemy bare-handed.

Qi Wu Zhen simply shifted slightly to avoid the flying blades. The two long blades smashed through the weapon racks, sending shattered pieces flying everywhere. Gutesdong was heartbroken. These weapons were all the latest models, including many newly developed ones. In one strike, two weapon racks, along with the weapons on them, were destroyed.

Though heartbroken, Gutesdong was helpless. As the saying goes, “When gods fight, mortals suffer.” He could only stand aside, trembling in pain, unable to say a word, while carefully avoiding the battle so as not to get hurt. The Mechanical Clan members present put on their metal armor, but they knew well that it would be useless if they were caught in the crossfire.

Bo Long had retreated to the edge of the floor. Suddenly, he clearly sensed the location of his twin knives and was overjoyed. Shouting loudly, he said, “Come back!” The twin knives below also reached the edge and instantly sliced through the metal wall, flying outside the building.

Overjoyed, Bo Long threw his twin knives and grabbed them back with both hands. The knives flying outside suddenly shot back in, smashing through the wall with a loud noise and returning into Bo Long’s hands.

With a wild laugh, Bo Long regained his weapons and became filled with confidence. His earlier despair vanished as he launched an aggressive attack, seemingly determined to vent all the frustration from being on the defensive.

Qi Wu Zhen dodged another slashing attack. Finally, she couldn’t help but say, “Is that all you’ve got?”

Feeling as if his entire body was covered in knives, Bo Long transformed into a long dragon and rushed at Qi Wu Zhen. His two long knives created fierce winds and waves as he slashed violently.

After fighting a few moves, Qi Wu Zhen completely dismissed these so-called master swordsmen. She clenched her hands and pushed outward, her fingers trembling slightly as countless spells flew out, forming a fire dragon. With a sharp command, “Go away!” the fire dragon lunged at Bo Long like a living creature.

The two attacked almost simultaneously and collided instantly. Bo Long suffered a heavy loss—he wasn’t familiar with attacks from spellcasters and hadn’t expected Qi Wu Zhen to be so powerful. Her attack this time was completely different from before. Qi Wu Zhen was a master of controlling fire; her previous “false flame palm” had only a slight hint of flame, but this time it was a true flame attack, infused with her understanding of fire. Without top-tier strength, it was impossible to resist.

When their attacks met, Bo Long immediately realized something was wrong. It felt as if he had fallen into a furnace. Even though his twin knives created layers of blade light to protect him, he still found it unbearable. The flames seemed determined to burn everything away. His sweat, which had been pouring down, evaporated instantly, and both his hair and clothes emitted a burnt smell.

An unimaginable force hit him, causing Bo Long to scream as he was thrown far away. This temporarily relieved the threat of the burning flames. With a loud crash, Bo Long forced his way through the building wall, flying out. He struggled to control his body in midair before witnessing a terrifying sight—the fire dragon was chasing after him. He couldn’t understand why the attack hadn’t dissipated yet.

This is precisely the power of those who specialize in spells—until the spells they cast and the energy they generate dissipate, the attacks will not cease, unless forced to be extinguished through direct assault or by the person who launched the attack. Then, Qi Wu Zhen chased after them, with Guo Shier and Li Ran following closely behind. Some members of the Mechanical Clan also rode mechanical flying devices and flew out as well. They were filled with fear but had no choice but to follow. After all, this was their territory, and with such intense fighting, who knew what might happen? If necessary, they could rescue those caught in the chaos.

Bo Long kept attacking, and the fire dragon gradually weakened under the blows of his dual knives. Qi Wu Zhen remained expressionless but did not launch another attack; she simply stared at Bo Long. Everyone could sense her immense presence, and they all looked at her with fear—this woman was extremely beautiful yet utterly cold-hearted.

Bo Long was drenched in sweat once again. By now, he fully understood that unless a true top expert from the Knife Clan came to fight her, it might be possible to resist this terrifying woman. He had no chance of winning, not even of protecting himself. There were three of them, and judging by this woman’s strength, her companions were likely equally powerful.

Qi Wu Zhen raised one finger, waved it slightly, and said coldly, “You’re no match for me! You’re worthless!”

In an instant, Bo Long’s face turned red, and his body trembled slightly. The humiliation was unbearable, but he knew it was better to endure it, as the consequences would be severe otherwise. He stood there in midair, holding his dual knives, looking utterly despondent. The drastic change from his initial arrogance to fear was beyond his comprehension.

Qi Wu Zhen grew bored. She waved her hand and said, “Get lost!”

Bo Long wanted to explode in anger, but thinking of her tactics, he remained fearful. After standing there for a while, he suddenly turned to leave. Guo Shier called out, “Wait…”

Qi Wu Zhen, with no expression on her face, drifted back a distance. She had no intention of continuing the fight. This encounter had disappointed her in the Knife Clan, making her believe they lived up to their name. If Bo Long had been able to match her in strength, she might have still held the Knife Clan in higher regard. But since he couldn’t even withstand her ordinary attacks, she completely ignored them.

It’s not that the Blade Clan is weak; it’s that Qi Wuzhen is extremely powerful. Even among spellcasters, she is at the top tier. There are hardly any who can defeat her, with only Li Ran able to match her in a direct confrontation—no one else can pose a threat to her.
Bo Long didn’t dare fly away just like that. He now realized that the three of them were incredibly strong, each one better than him. Holding his dual knives in a defensive stance, he asked nervously, “What do you want?”
Guo Shier laughed and said, “Don’t worry. I don’t want to fight. Put away your knives.”
Bo Long hesitated for a moment, then raised his hands, and his dual knives transformed into two beams of light before instantly returning to their scabbards on his back. His expression eased slightly, as Guo Shier’s attitude was gentle, and she didn’t say anything harsh. He said, “I admit I can’t beat you. Just tell me what you need.” His tone was resentful, showing signs of frustration.
Guo Shier said, “There are many who can’t beat us. You don’t need to act like that. Lord Stan, please come over.”
Stan was stunned. He never expected Li Ran and the others to be so powerful. A single woman had already beaten Bo Long, a master of the Blade Clan, leaving him in agony. The strength of these three was truly terrifying. His only thought was to avoid provoking them. Thus, he placed them on the list of people one should only befriend, never offend.
“Hehe, my lord, what can I do for you?”
Stan activated his armor and quickly flew to Guo Shier’s side.
Seeing Stan go, Bo Long then flew in front of Guo Shier. He stayed silent, hovering in the air, but he gradually calmed down, sensing that Guo Shier had no ill intentions. She gave off an air of calmness, without hostility or murderous intent—something he could clearly feel.
Li Ran said, “Shier, don’t stop here. Lord Stan, find a place where we can sit down and talk.” He already understood Guo Shier’s intention—to learn more about the surroundings. As a master of the Blade Clan, Bo Long must know a lot.
Stan replied respectfully, “Yes, my lord.” Although he was the city lord, his combat skills were negligible compared to theirs. He was far inferior, and even if he fought with all his might, he might not win. If he did, the city would surely suffer. So he had to be cautious.
Led by Stan, everyone flew to another tall building and entered the luxurious hall on the top floor.

It felt a bit like they became friends through struggle; Borong followed along in a daze, his mind in chaos, not knowing what to do. He was also curious—how come he had never heard of these three before? After all, he knew all the experts in this area; he had never heard of such skilled spellcasters before.
Everyone sat down. Qi Wu Zhen appeared indifferent; she didn’t care whether Borong had followed or not. Since Guo Shier had spoken, she knew the kid must have his own thoughts. As for what they were, she wouldn’t pry—she’d just listen.
After everyone was seated, Guo Shier said, “Alright, let me give a formal introduction. I’m Guo Shier from the Spellcasters Clan. This is Li Ran from the Spellcasters Clan. As for this one…” He turned to Qi Wu Zhen, silently asking if she should be introduced.
Qi Wu Zhen replied, “Whatever!”
