Chapter 10: Stupid Woman (Part 2)
Halechi’s face turned deathly pale. At that moment, the beast let out two hisses and suddenly leaped down from the floating mountain. Its silver wings hummed as it aimed its huge head at Halechi, opening its maw to bite down fiercely.
Furious to the point of madness, Halechi thought to himself that anyone—human or beast—dared to bully him. Did they really think of him as easy prey, something to be devoured at will? Spitting out a mouthful of blood, he summoned his sacred artifact and roared, “Die, you damn reptile!”
Boom!
The blade struck the beast’s massive head like a thunderbolt, leaving a bloody wound. Halechi was shocked—his strike hadn’t even split the beast’s head. Was its skull that hard? Since he couldn’t dodge the attack due to the close distance, he was struck hard by the beast’s huge head.
Letting out a scream, Halechi and the altar were flung away again, crashing violently into the floating mountain and shattering it entirely.
The beast became enraged. Though the strike hadn’t killed it, the wound on its head drove it wild. Its body, over a kilometer long, stretched slightly as its silver wings trembled. Its massive form suddenly rose upright and shot forward like an arrow, arriving instantly in front of the floating mountain where Halechi had fallen, hissing as it prepared to attack again.
Just then, Meili suddenly appeared. Seeing Halechi in such grave condition, she flew into rage. With a roar, her true form manifested, and her immense spiritual pressure crushed everything around her. Halechi spat out more blood and sighed, “No wonder Ezekiel calls you a stupid woman… Sigh…”
Although spiritual pressure was effective against the beast, Halechi suffered even more from it.
The beast now felt as if faced with a formidable enemy. Its body rose upright again, its thin wings fluttering rapidly to maintain balance. It instinctively sensed danger.
Meili was an Aberrant Talisman Beast, and a high-level one at that—a species capable of taking human form. Her strength was extremely formidable, especially considering her massive size, which was on par with, if not greater than, that of the beast. She charged straight at it, her two snow-white horns emitting silver talismanic light, revealing her fury.
The beast dared to hurt Halechi—this angered her even more than if it had hurt her herself; it was as if it had touched her most sensitive spot, so Meili went berserk. With a loud crash, Meili charged headlong at the beast. Though her body was only about a hundred meters long, its width was greater, and with this attack, she lunged at the beast’s chest, opened her mouth wide, and bit down just below its neck.
Crack!
Blood gushed out like a fountain. The beast was in agony; it twisted its body and also opened its mouth wide, biting down on Meili’s back. Meili shook her head violently, her two horns slicing through the air and instantly cutting two deep wounds in the beast’s neck.
Halechi gasped in shock. Even though he hated Meili, he had to admit she was incredibly powerful. He hesitated for a moment before sighing. Fleeing now wasn’t in his nature—after all, Meili was fighting desperately for him. No matter how much he disliked her, he couldn’t take advantage of the situation and run away.
Meili charged forward without hesitation, fighting desperately, which moved Halechi a little. He roared loudly and unleashed his precious weapon, aiming at the beast’s tail.
The beast retracted its tail, aiming to strike Meili’s back. If it hit, even with her tough body, she would suffer greatly. So Halechi targeted that retreating tail.
Swish…
His weapon flew out instantly. He couldn’t withstand the force of the tail at all and was flung away again, but this strike greatly slowed down the tail’s speed. Meili shook her head violently, tearing a large wound in the beast’s neck. By the time the tail swung back, she was already prepared; she raised her own tail and wrapped it tightly around it.
The beast couldn’t control its body and fell downward, entangled with Meili.
Halechi rushed after them desperately. By then, Guo Shier also arrived. At a glance, he saw that Halechi had suffered a heavy loss and shouted, “Halechi, get out of the way!”
Yue Ren chased after them with a whooshing sound. Guo Shier shouted again, “Meili… get out of the way!”
Meili roared, “Back off! This is mine!”
Yue Ren circled once before landing in Guo Shier’s hands. He said with a wry smile, “This guy…”
Halechi caught up, but since Guo Shier had intervened halfway, he ended up behind. He said, “Let’s go down together!”
Beauty and the Beast Roar rolled downward, both being enormous and extremely resilient; the smaller floating islands shattered almost instantly upon impact. Even as they fell, they continued to attack frantically, with a terrifying intensity. One could hear Beauty’s roars, the Beast’s hisses, the crackling of their attacks, along with clouds of debris and dust, falling like meteorites.
Guo Shier wanted to help but couldn’t intervene—those two were locked in combat, and any attack might accidentally harm Beauty. Halachi followed closely, also feeling frustrated as he couldn’t assist her at all. This woman was utterly unreasonable. Originally, the three of them could have easily killed the Beast, but now they could only rely on her fighting alone.
The handsome old man shook his head and said, “After all, it’s an Aberrant Talisman Beast. Once enraged, it loses all reason. Fortunately, she grew up on the Layered Continent; if she were in the human world, she wouldn’t last long.”
Guo Shier nodded. “Yes, such a reckless and impulsive personality makes it hard to survive in a professionist’s society. Maybe it’s fine at first, but later… they’ll encounter stronger professionals, and that would be the end of her.”
Boom!
A large floating island was torn apart by Beauty and the Beast, creating a huge crater, causing the entire island to sink slightly. Beauty roared wildly, and a cloud of dust rose, covering their bodies. From time to time, their rolling forms could be seen. Halachi said helplessly, “That stupid woman!”
Guo Shier glanced at him in surprise, as his tone was exactly like Ezekiel’s. The handsome old man laughed, “People are always influenced subtly, haha, haha!”
Halachi was shocked and wondered why he spoke that way. But after thinking, he realized Beauty really was as Ezekiel described—a stupid woman. It was fitting to say so; otherwise, there would be nothing left to say.
Beauty was insane, but her strength was comparable to that of the Beast. If they continued to watch, they could only intervene if Beauty was defeated.
Halachi shook his head repeatedly. In his opinion, facing any danger with the help of companions was always better than fighting alone. But this woman was a madman who insisted on fighting by herself. If not for Beauty saving him, he wouldn’t have cared about this stupid woman’s fate, but now it was troublesome. After thinking, he sent a message token to summon Ezekiel.
In this world, aside from Ezekiel, there was probably no one else who could control Beauty.
Guo Shier asked, “Who are we sending the signal to?”
Halechi replied, “To Ezekiel.”
Guo Shier laughed and said, “Hehe, probably only he can stop Beauty’s madness. We can’t do anything—this woman is truly insane.”
The entire floating island was in chaos. With Beauty’s strength and that of the beast, they could easily destroy the entire island. Sure enough, about ten minutes later, a huge crack appeared in the floating island. One of the beast’s tails was firmly hooked around a rock, but its body was already trapped in the crack.
Beauty roared like thunder, twisting wildly. The crack grew larger and larger, until finally, she managed to grab the beast and fall back down. It was then that Guo Shier and Halechi saw clearly that Beauty was covered in blood, and the beast was in even worse condition—one of its front limbs had been torn off, and its body was covered in countless wounds caused by Beauty’s claws. Though not fatal, these wounds caused the beast to lose a great deal of blood.
Blood mist filled the air as the fierce battle continued.
Guo Shier had to admit that Beauty was a skilled fighter. Even though she was covered in wounds, she showed no fear and continued to attack frantically, as if she wouldn’t stop until she torn her opponent to pieces. Her fearless determination shocked him. With such madness, it seemed even he would find it hard to defeat her unless he could be just as insane.
Halechi followed along, muttering constantly, “Crazy woman, crazy woman… Stupid woman, stupid woman… Damn it, this woman… Who can stand her…”
A long howl, filled with anger, came from afar. Guo Shier said, “Ezekiel is here.”
Halechi also raised his head and let out a long howl, signaling to Ezekiel that they were there.
Soon, Ezekiel appeared beside Halechi. At a glance, he saw the fierce battle between Beauty and the beast. With a roar, he charged at the beast. Beauty screamed wildly, “Get away! This is mine!” Even more rude than she was to Guo Shier.
Ezekiel cursed, “You stupid woman!”
Beauty roared, “Go away! Stay out! It’s mine!”
Guo Shier was stunned. He had thought that Ezekiel’s arrival would solve the problem with the beast, but Beauty wouldn’t give anyone a chance. Apparently, she was in a fury and refused to let anyone interfere, determined to kill the beast alone.
Ezekiel was at a loss. He kept cursing, “You stupid woman, stupid woman…” But Guo Shier and Halechi could clearly sense his concern for Beauty.
Beauty continued to roar, “Get away! I’m going to bite it to death!”
Ezekiel has immense combat experience, and it’s clear that the two sides are evenly matched. Belle is not sure if she can defeat her opponent—what should she do?
