Chapter 1: Sky Burial Hunting Technique (Part 1)

A sharp cry from the eagles sent them flying backward in a long formation. One after another, they dived downward. That wasn’t the most terrifying part—what was terrifying was the three attack lines they formed, targeting the head and neck, the back, and the tail respectively. The snow eagles swooped down with a howl, their massive claws gripping the Great Snow Dragon fiercely before soaring back into the air.

The three attack lines, like three rapidly spinning gears, slashed wildly. The Abnormal Great Snow Dragon was indeed extremely powerful, but under such assaults, it could barely withstand it. Its body spun violently on the ground like a windmill, its colossal form moving as if it were a mountain in motion.

Bang! Bang! Bang!
With each twist of its body, the diving snow eagles failed to adjust in time and crashed into it one after another. Feathers flew everywhere, and their cries filled the air. A few eagles even collided head-on with the dragon, being knocked unconscious by the force.

Whoosh!
The Abnormal Great Snow Dragon’s massive tail, over 800 meters long, lashed through the air as its body rotated. The speed of that tail swing far exceeded the speed of sound. Only after a shadow flashed across the sky did a shrill sound of air being torn apart follow. With just one swipe, nearly a hundred snow eagles were knocked down. Then, the dragon leaped high into the air. With its extremely long body, it could pounce on the eagles circling above.

The Abnormal Great Snow Dragon’s target was a level-14 snow eagle—the one leading the attack. It was also quite large, over 200 meters in length with wings spanning more than 500 meters. Caught off guard, it was immediately pounced upon by the dragon, which bit down on its neck. With a crack, as the dragon shook its head wildly, the neck broke into two, blood and flesh flying everywhere.

Li Ran moved back and forth in short bursts. He didn’t rush to intervene. Allowing the snow eagles and the dragon to fight for a while would effectively weaken both sides.

Guo Shier, Fan Zhen, and Yang Miluo continued to harass from the periphery, killing a few snow eagles whenever they found an opportunity. Then, using the tentacles of the Ancient Xi Bi, they harvested their souls and collected the eagles’ corpses.

As for the group of professionals, they were completely surrounded by the snow eagles. From time to time, altars fell to the ground—those of the dead professionals.

Guo Shier and his companions were clever. They moved swiftly around the perimeter, refusing to get trapped among the eagles. They knew that if surrounded, the three of them would struggle to withstand the eagles’ repeated attacks.

After killing dozens of Snow Carvings in a row, Guo Shier said, “Let’s retreat a bit further. Watch out—another group of Snow Carvings is coming!”
After Guo Shier and his group eliminated the Snow Carvings that had been chasing them, dozens more emerged from the group to attack.
Guo Shier smiled and said, “Great!” His strategy of gradually encircling and killing them was very effective, and the Snow Carvings cooperated well, always sending out dozens at a time, just enough for them to take them down one by one.
Dozens of Snow Carvings weren’t much of a threat among the entire group—after all, tens of thousands of them were mostly focused on the Great Snow Dragon. Only by killing the Great Snow Dragon could they truly feast, but professionals like Guo Shier weren’t even worth the effort, as there wasn’t enough meat for them.
At that moment, another group of professionals arrived, about twenty in number. They also began attacking, hunting Snow Carvings from the periphery just like Guo Shier’s group.
The main task of these newcomers was to hunt various exotic beasts and obtain sacrifices. Since the Snow Carvings were fighting the Great Snow Dragon, they saw this as an opportunity to take advantage—after all, the Snow Carvings wouldn’t pay attention to them, as they were too insignificant.
Gradually, more and more groups of professionals came, quietly hunting Snow Carvings from the periphery.
The smell of blood spread increasingly. If it weren’t for the extreme cold, which limited the spread of the scent, this place would have attracted mutated beasts. Indeed, some mutated beasts came attracted by the smell, including those at the thirteenth or fourteenth level. They hid nearby, taking the chance to ambush isolated Snow Carvings or steal their corpses that had fallen to the ground.
A group of snow hyenas sneaked around, dragging a Snow Carving’s corpse, and soon they were feasting wildly in the remaining woods.
Both the sky and the ground were in chaos—the cries of the carvings and roars of the beasts created a tumultuous scene.
The Snow Carving group became even more frenzied. They attacked not only the Great Snow Dragon but also anyone or anything trying to take advantage of the situation. The snowfield was covered in blood, with the corpses of various mutated beasts lying everywhere. Some were still alive but severely injured, struggling desperately to escape this chaotic land.
The mutated Great Snow Dragon had countless scratches and wounds, bleeding profusely. Even after killing hundreds of Snow Carvings, it seemed exhausted due to its strength.
Li Ran smiled as he collected souls. With little effort, he gathered a large number of Soul Beads—excellent sources of sacrifices. Although many Snow Carvings attacked him, his overwhelming strength made them unable to touch him.

Guo Shier knew that unless Li Ran spent a great deal of soul energy to completely eliminate these snow sculptures, they, as professionals, could not kill them all. So they remained calm, simply fighting off the approaching snow sculptures, which still yielded significant results. From time to time, groups of professionals passed by, and most of them joined in—it was like a hunting frenzy. Too many professionals arrived at the Great Abyss Pool; in less than half an hour, dozens of groups showed up. After a quick calculation, Guo Shier found that at least seven or eight hundred altar-level professionals were hunting in the periphery. With a slash from his Moonblade, Guo Shier said with a smile, “Let’s hurry up. More and more people are coming. Hehe.” Fan Zhen agreed, “That’s because the Snow Peng group isn’t focusing on them. Hehe, if they were targeting us, I doubt half of us could escape.” Yang Miluo said cheerfully, “Another one killed! Shier, grab it quickly!” The old hero ordered Gu Xi Bi to catch the snow sculpture falling in a spin, swiftly collect its soul, and then drag its body over. Guo Shier said, “This one belongs to Old Yang… You take it!” Yang Miluo rejoiced, “Great, it’s my turn this time.” With a wave of his hand, he cast a rune chain to drag the snow sculpture’s body into the rune storage space of the altar. The three took turns collecting the snow sculptures, while the soul pearls would be distributed after everything was over—currently, they were all in Guo Shier’s possession. Among the seven or eight hundred altar-level professionals, there were some experts at the seventh and eighth levels of the altar, but they were still in the minority. These people were extremely fierce in hunting the snow sculptures. In just a short while, over a thousand snow sculptures were killed. The massive flock of snow sculptures lost a great deal of blood; with such heavy attacks, even they could withstand it no longer. Suddenly, Guo Shier said, “That’s not right. The snow sculpture flock is retreating…” Having lost over three thousand members, even though they were a huge group, they could no longer hold on. The entire flock became restless, with too many attacks. Although the snow sculptures were brave, such attacks had already left them severely injured. Just then, Guo Shier received a message token from Li Ran. Fan Zhen asked, “What?” Guo Shier replied, “Brother Li Ran wants us to go over! He’s probably about to take action.” Yang Miluo said, “Go in? That’s too dangerous!” Guo Shier said, “Charge straight in. Ignore everything else. As long as we get to Brother Li Ran’s side, we’ll be fine.”

Fan Zhen Tong shouted, “I’ll clear the way. You two, hold my altar tightly—don’t let go, or it will be really dangerous.” With his strength, it was impossible for him to kill all the snow sculptures, but to charge through, his power was sufficient.
Guo Shier said, “Okay!”
Yang Miluo added, “Don’t worry, there’s no problem. As long as we don’t linger in battle, we won’t get trapped.”
Fan Zhen Tong roared, “Go!” He sent his sacrificial artifact forward, while Guo Shier and Yang Miluo also unleashed theirs, slashing wildly ahead. Following the path created by their sacrificial artifacts, Fan Zhen Tong rushed into the swarm of snow sculptures, and soon the three of them were submerged in it.
A group of professionals nearby were stunned—there were still people willing to seek death like this.
Slashing their way forward, blood mist filled the air, and feathers flew everywhere. Guo Shier and the old hero didn’t even have time to collect soul beads; they just wanted to get through quickly. Yet this frenzied killing brought them great satisfaction—the umbrella tower sacrificial artifact displayed immense power, turning the snow sculptures’ attacks into nothingness.
In just a few minutes, the three of them reached the skies above the Great Snow Dragon.
A large number of high-level snow sculptures gathered here, at least level 13 or above, with possibly even mutated snow sculptures at levels 15 or 16. Li Ran teleported right beside them and shouted, “Retreat your altar and come to mine!” Before his words faded, he released his own altar.
As soon as the altar was deployed, an overwhelming soul pressure spread everywhere. The mutated Great Snow Dragon let out a terrified roar and tried to flee. Li Ran had been controlling his soul pressure, but with the altar active, it was impossible to conceal it any longer—it spread out along with the altar.
Some weaker snow sculptures were even knocked to the ground by this pressure, struggling desperately, while the higher-level ones fled frantically outward.
