Chapter 8: The Gu Shui Family (Part 2)
Shui Junyong said, “The younger generation is inexperienced. I hope you won’t be angry.”
Guo Shier also didn’t want fighting. The key issue was Huo Fen Tian’s presence—this unstable factor was like a thorn stuck in his throat. It would be best if it could be resolved this way. He said, “As long as they don’t provoke us, there’s no problem.”
Shui Junyong nodded. “Yes, they won’t appear again.”
Guo Shier said, “That’s good. Um, there’s one more small thing I’d like to ask.”
Shui Junyong said, “Please go ahead. I’ll definitely help if I can.”
Guo Shier smiled. “It’s not a big deal. I need the coordinates of the secret realms around the Thousand Lakes Continent and the coordinates of the continent itself. Hehe, we don’t even know about any of the secret realms nearby.”
Shui Junyong was surprised. “Coordinates? How did you get here?” He couldn’t understand. To reach the Thousand Lakes Continent, one must pass through secret realms. If they could get here through them, they should at least know the coordinates of one of the realms—otherwise, how could they enter the continent?
Guo Shier didn’t know what to say. Huo Fen Tian calmly said, “I brought them in.” Then he continued drinking, acting as if it wasn’t his concern.
Shui Junyong was shocked. This was the first time Huo Fen Tian had looked at him directly. His soul trembled as he realized he had misjudged things. The truly powerful person wasn’t Guo Shier but this extremely beautiful woman.
“Here, these are the coordinates of the nearby secret realms.”
Guo Shier took the jade talisman and glanced at it, then exclaimed in surprise, “Only one coordinate?”
Shui Junyong nodded. “There’s only one passage to a secret realm. There are few outsiders among us professionals. That’s why, through this realm, one can reach the Frozen Continent, where there are many secret realms. Hehe, our place is just a remote area.”
Huo Fen Tian asked, “Since when has the Gu Shui Family declined to just one continent?”
Shui Junyong’s expression changed instantly.
Guo Shier was puzzled. “One continent?” From what he knew, the Gu Fu Zhou Family controlled at least ten continents, and some large ancient families even controlled hundreds. He never expected the Gu Shui Family to have only one continent.
Shui Junyong seemed about to get angry, but he quickly calmed down and said, “That’s right. Right now, our Gu Shui Family only has one continent left. But sooner or later, our family will expand again.”
Huo Fen Tian chuckled and said, “I remember… the Gu Shui family once dominated 176 continents. Now, there’s only one left. Your Gu Shui family must have encountered some terrible bad luck to end up in such a pitiful state.” She mocked them without any restraint.
Shui Junyong was completely stunned. At its peak, the Gu Shui family indeed had control over over 170 continents. Back then, it was a mighty force, but that was thousands of years ago. From this woman’s tone, it seemed she had witnessed the glory of the Gu Shui family firsthand. How could that be possible?
“You… who are you?”
Huo Fen Tian took a sip of wine and said, “Don’t ask. If you do, you’ll suffer even more!”
Shui Junyong’s heart pounded wildly. He had a vague suspicion, but he didn’t dare speak it out.
Huo Fen Tian continued, “Is the Frozen Continent currently occupied by the Gu Ji family?”
Shui Junyong replied respectfully, “Yes.”
Huo Fen Tian said, “How ridiculous! Back then, your Gu Shui family almost wiped out the Gu Ji family. Who would have thought it would be your turn now? Interesting. I remember your Gu Shui family’s Ancestor Shui Se—he was a master of the eighth-tier altar and one of the most promising professionals to reach the ninth tier. Is he dead?”
Shui Junyong’s face turned pale as if he’d seen a ghost. Stammering, he said, “Ancestor… Ancestor Shui Se… he passed away thousands of years ago… You… you…”
Huo Fen Tian seemed somewhat melancholic. She took another sip of wine and said, “So he’s dead after all… Things change, but people remain the same.” She ignored Shui Junyong and turned to look outside.
Although Guo Shier and the others didn’t fully understand these people and events, they understood one thing: Huo Fen Tian was at least an ancient being who had lived for thousands of years. This far exceeded their imagination—they had never heard of a professional living that long.
Shui Junyong picked up the amethyst wine and gulped it down. After a while, he asked, “Elder… do you know Ancestor Shui Se of our Gu Shui family?”
Huo Fen Tian replied nonchalantly, “I know him, but not well. We fought once. We were roughly on equal footing. Hmph, back then, Shui Se was full of arrogance, acting like he was the best in the world… But he wasn’t that great after all.”
Shui Junyong broke into cold sweat, feeling fortunate. When he first arrived, he had planned to use diplomacy first before resorting to force. Thankfully, Guo Shier wasn’t someone who would act arrogantly. If he had refused to back down, a fight would have been inevitable, with serious consequences—possibly even bringing disaster to his family.
Huo Fen Tian turned back and asked, “Are you hot?”
Shui Junyong was drenched in sweat; he didn’t know how to respond. It wasn’t heat at all—it was fear that made him sweat profusely. Not to mention him, even Guo Shier and the others were sweating on their foreheads, though not as severely as Shui Junyong.
Huo Fen Tian burst into laughter, her sound as beautiful as a blooming garden, stunning even these strong men. Guo Shier held his head in agony, his only thought being to get away from this woman as soon as possible—she was too dangerous; her presence made his heart ache.
Shui Junyong stood up and said, “If there’s nothing else, I’ll go back now. I’ll discipline my clan members and never disturb you again… Goodbye.” He turned and left in a hurry.
Watching Shui Junyong leave, Guo Shier felt a hint of envy. That guy could leave so easily, while they had to stay with this crazy old woman—it gave him a headache just thinking about it.
Huo Fen Tian smiled and said, “What timid. Each generation is worse than the last.” She raised the wine bottle, took a sip, then turned it upside down to let a few drops fall, saying, “Hmm, it’s gone again. Give me another bottle!”
Guo Shier’s scalp tingled. Gritting his teeth, he said, “There’s none left, senior. All the wine is yours.”
Huo Fen Tian said nothing, just stretched out her delicate little hand and stared at Guo Shier.
Guo Shier was at his wits’ end. How could this woman be so unreasonable? He spread his hands and said, “Really, there’s really none left. How about… after a while, I can brew some more.”
Huo Fen Tian replied indifferently, “Don’t make me use force. Just take it from your talisman storage space.”
Guo Shier’s eyelids trembled in fear. He immediately handed over a bottle of wine, saying, “Here.” Come on, taking things directly from the talisman storage space meant she could destroy his altar. Would she really do such a thing for a bottle of wine? Maybe Huo Fen Tian was just joking, but Guo Shier didn’t want to take the risk. If she wanted to drink, then let her—just die from drinking it.
Ying Mo, Luo Zhan, and Nan You exchanged glances, stunned for a while before bursting into laughter.
Guo Shier glared and said, “Laugh? There’s nothing to laugh about! Stop laughing!”
Huo Fen Tian took a satisfying sip of wine and said, “Little rascal, you think I don’t know? Hmph. For the sake of the wine, I won’t punish you this time. Next time, be more generous—it’s not like it’s something valuable.”
Guo Shier changed the subject, “By the way, are we going to the Frozen Continent?”
The Eagle Demon and the others all enjoyed watching Guo Shier get humiliated—this was a bad habit brought to them by the handsome old man. Every time they saw Guo Shier suffer, they found it amusing. Hearing this, they all said in unison, “Nonsense.”
Guo Shier touched his nose, knowing in his heart that he had said nonsense, but who expected such a response? He complained, “Did I say something wrong?”
The Eagle Demon smiled and said, “You’re not wrong, it’s just nonsense. If we’re not going to the Frozen Continent, where else can we go? Do we have to live on the Thousand Lakes Continent forever?”
Huo Fen Tian giggled and said, “The Guji Family of the Frozen Continent… is a domineering family. As far as I know, they own many continents—well, probably over a hundred. Their strength is beyond that of the Gushui Family.”
Guo Shier was confused. “Their dominance has nothing to do with us, right? We haven’t provoked them… Oh, no…” He lamented in his heart, “Women are a disaster, a real disaster… We’re so unlucky.”
Of course, these people wouldn’t stir up trouble, but among them was Huo Fen Tian, who was stunningly beautiful. Even if they didn’t cause trouble, others might still provoke them. If they angered Huo Fen Tian, the consequences would be unimaginable. If Guo Shier didn’t want Huo Fen Tian to kill someone, he would have to step in to stop her. Would that reduce the trouble?
Huo Fen Tian smiled and took another sip of wine. Despite drinking so much, her face was only slightly red. Neither her speech nor her actions showed any signs of drunkenness—her physique was truly remarkable.
The Eagle Demon and the others also realized this and showed helpless expressions. As long as this woman stayed with their team, trouble would follow them everywhere. She didn’t even need to cause trouble—just with her looks, she could create countless headaches.
Guo Shier really wanted to leave with his team, but Huo Fen Tian would never agree. After thinking for a long time without finding a solution, he thought, “Damn it, if nothing else works, I’ll just ignore everything. You can provoke whoever you want. If someone is stupid enough to get provoked, it’s their own fault—what does it have to do with me?”
“Alright, let’s go.”
Huo Fen Tian stood up, still holding the wine bottle. The Eagle Demon and the others also stood up, and together they went downstairs. There, they saw two professionals standing there, both at themaster level, including a young woman. Seeing them come down, she hurried over to greet them.
“From the Gushui Family, Shui Qing greets all the seniors.”
“From the Gushui Family, Shui Shijian. By the orders of our ancestor, I’m here to serve as your guide.”
Shui Junyong didn’t dare to meet them in person, so he sent two disciples from his family. He knew that with people like Guo Shier, they wouldn’t bully these lower-ranked disciples.
Whenever Guo Shier went to a place, he would purchase some local specialties, as it was his habit. After buying a batch of specialties, he also acquired some locally grown rice, which he planned to use for brewing wine. He also ensured that the Gu Shui family paid for everything purchased.
Guo Shier opened the magic gate and led everyone away.
