Chapter 10: The Wild Beast Secret Realm (Part 2)
Tan Laoxi howled, “You want me to leave? Damn it…”
Guo Shier was too lazy to waste words on him and said, “Uncle Eagle Demon, Uncle Luo Zhan, throw him out!”
Frightened, Tan Laoxi rushed to Luo Jie’s side and kept shouting, “Luo, even you won’t protect your own disciple? How can you treat a friend like this?”
Luo Jie spread his hands and said with a half-smile, “If you want to join the team, I have no objections. But it’s Shier who commands the team. If you don’t follow orders, Shier has the right to make any decisions. That’s beyond my control.”
Seeing Eagle Demon and Luo Zhan approaching, Tan Laoxi had no choice but to shout, “Fine! One is fine! I agree!” Come on, two top martial artists—once a master got close to them, the consequences would be disastrous.
Guo Shier still wanted to save face for his master. He said, “Uncle Eagle Demon, Uncle Luo Zhan, come back. Mr. Tan, come here.”
Lan Tianbao looked at Guo Shier curiously. She never expected a child to be able to torment a master so badly. However, she had a very poor impression of Tan Laoxi, who spoke in vulgar terms. He was annoying and not worthy of sympathy at all.
Guo Shier said coldly, “Mr. Tan, if you want to stay in the team, it’s not impossible… First, you must rinse your mouth and clean that stinky mouth of yours. Second, you must obey orders. Third, if you behave well, you’ll get a share of the rewards. If you cause trouble or act recklessly, I won’t hesitate to beat you!”
Qi Nanshan could barely hold back his laughter, and Luo Jie was also happy—finally, someone could control this clingy guy.
Tan Laoxi could only force a smile. He really didn’t dare to argue with Guo Shier. When children became unreasonable, they were even harder to deal with than adults, especially when their strength was roughly equal to his own. After staying silent for a while, he weakly said, “I’ll do as you say…” muttering under his breath, “When did a kid become this powerful… It’s really weird…”
Guo Shier said, “What did you say? Speak up!”
Frightened, Tan Laoxi stepped back repeatedly and instinctively said, “Nothing… I didn’t say anything…”
Guo Shier said, “Alright, we’ll be entering soon. This mission isn’t easy… We need to hunt down Symbol Beasts, and they win by numbers. If we can catch mutated Symbol Beasts, we’ll definitely take first place. But I’m not in favor of hunting mutated ones; we should focus on winning through quantity instead.” He knew how powerful the mutated Symbol Beasts were—even with nine masters in the team, there was no guarantee of defeating them.
Everyone agreed, including Luo Jie. It was only then that Tan Laoxi and Lan Tianbao fully believed that Guo Shier was indeed the leader of this team.
Tan Laoxi finally understood that Guo Shier could really drive him out of the team.
…
It was already the third day since they entered the secret realm. They had a total of three months there, and after three months, they had to leave with their spoils. Master-level teams stayed the longest—three months. Professionally trained teams followed with two months, while trial teams had only one month.
The climate in the Wild Beast Secret Realm was vastly different from the outside world. It was springtime there, with blooming flowers. As soon as Guo Shier entered, his mood improved instantly. Having suffered in the cold West Symbol Gate, he was overjoyed to be in a place as warm as spring.
After three days of traveling, the horse team arrived at the foot of a mountain on the outskirts of the mountainous area. There was a rest area and supply station ahead, where they planned to prepare before entering the mountains. Warhorses couldn’t enter the mountains and had to be left at the supply station until they returned.
Tan Laoxi was completely subdued by Guo Shier. He hardly spoke these past three days, obediently following the team.
Guo Shier said, “We have half a day and one night to rest. We’ll enter the mountains tomorrow morning. This mountainous area is marked as a red zone on West Symbol Gate’s map, meaning it’s where the Symbol Beasts roam. On the other side of the mountains is a purple zone—we should stay away from there as it’s a dangerous area inhabited by mutated Symbol Beasts.”
“Mr. Tan, go see the person in charge of the supply station and ask them to arrange the best rooms and supplies.”
Tan Laoxi said, “Okay, I’ll go first!” He rode ahead to arrange accommodations for everyone.
Qi Nanshan said, “Damn, this guy seems like a different person!”
Guo Shier laughed, “Grandpa Nanshan, why are you talking so rudely too?”
Qi Nanshan said sheepishly, “Staying with such people for too long makes you speak nonsense too.” This made Lan Tianbao laugh.
Soon, the horse team entered the supply station, where they heard a lot of noise as soon as they got in.
“What the hell makes you so special? This is Xifu Men’s territory—what right do you have to act like this? Damn thing, just because of those few masters of yours?”
“You old bastard…”
Guo Shier smiled bitterly. “Really troublesome! Master, I wonder who that guy got into a fight with again?”
Luo Jie said calmly, “Let’s see first.”
Eight masters entered the supply station’s courtyard, followed by others and over fifty warhorses. As they arrived, the arguing stopped abruptly.
Guo Shier met acquaintances everywhere he went. He immediately spotted three of them—Feng Wind Old Evil, Feng Wind Old Monster, and Feng Wind Old Poison. There were also two other masters he didn’t recognize.
Tan Laoxi acted as if he was in the right, with a trembling professional standing by his side—apparently a beast warrior from the supply station—along with a wolf that was also trembling. With masters everywhere, the pressure was immense.
Guo Shier asked, “What’s going on?”
Feng Wind Old Evil and the others knew well that Guo Shier wasn’t easy to provoke. Upon taking a closer look, even Feng Wind Old Poison couldn’t help but curse inwardly—how could there be so many masters?
Tan Laoxi said, “I got here first and reserved the rooms here. As soon as these damn guys showed up, they tried to take over the rooms—just because of those few of them…” A string of curses followed, his spit flying everywhere.
Guo Shier sighed inwardly. Though he wasn’t satisfied with Tan Laoxi, he wouldn’t yield when bullied to this extreme. He asked, “Is that so? You want to take away the rooms we’ve reserved?”
Feng Wind Old Evil was about to speak when Feng Wind Old Poison pulled him back.
There were also two other masters Guo Shier didn’t know. One of them said coldly, “That’s right! Who are you, kid? What are you doing here? This… isn’t a place for kids to play.” His hair stood upright like steel needles, his face marked with deep wrinkles, his eyebrows thick, and he exuded a fierce aura.
Guo Shier couldn’t help but laugh. “Oh, so you’re bold enough to steal outright. Great! Then… negotiation is useless? Fine, how do you want to fight? We’re ready!”
The man asked coldly, “Can you represent them?”
Guo Shier retorted irritably, “What the hell are you? Questioning me? Since you’re too scared to fight, get lost!”
The man flew into a rage, stepped back, and said to Kuangfeng Laoxie and the others, “You block the way ahead… I’m going to start slaughtering everyone!” He spat out his life talisman book. Guo Shier said, “Seeking death!”
Qin Nanshan dashed forward in an instant. The Kuangfeng trio not only didn’t move forward but turned and left. In the blink of an eye, Qin Nanshan was by the man’s side, grabbing his neck. The man couldn’t retrieve the life talisman book he had spat out; it kept spinning around his chest. He screamed in panic, never expecting the Kuangfeng trio to retreat.
Guo Shier asked, “Is it a great sorcerer? Hehe, Master, can you snatch a talisman from his life talisman book…?”
Hearing this, the man trembled with fear. Of course, if a sorcerer lost his talismans, it would be like a soldier losing his gun or an official losing his power—the consequences would be unimaginable.
Tan Laoxi couldn’t help but break into a cold sweat, thinking, “This kid is too terrifying. Avoid him in the future!”
Guo Shier looked at the Kuangfeng trio who had stepped aside, along with another unfamiliar master, and called out, “Kuangfeng Laodu, what do you say?”
Kuangfeng Laodu was extremely frustrated. He muttered under his breath, “Didn’t I already retreat? What more do you want?”
