Volume 4: Hidden Battles – Chapter 165: What Does “Politeness” Mean?
Men and women working together make the job easier!
Tianyu and Sophia working together not only avoided fatigue but also completed the task excellently. By the time they left the manor, both of them had gained a great deal.
As for Tianyu, needless to say, it was the two large bags filled with land deeds, property titles, and Count Shawei’s transfer certificates—things that truly surprised Tianyu. He hadn’t expected the manor to be so vast. By his rough estimate, once they left the highway, they should have reached the manor’s boundaries!
It was unexpected that on his first “robbery,” he managed to snatch such a valuable target. Even when collecting the land deeds and property titles, Tianyu felt embarrassed taking them one by one! Yet despite his embarrassment, he still filled the two large bags…
As for Sophia, her “load” was equally substantial. Not to mention Count Shawei himself, whose presence alone was significant, there were also the secrets and information about Archbishop Thorne that Count Shawei provided.
Thus, the two left the ravaged manor almost singing.
Tianyu originally planned to return to Paris to meet up with Qianfeng there and hand over the land deeds and property titles for safekeeping. It wouldn’t be proper to carry them around randomly!
But since they still had Count Shawei as a “trophy”—although Tianyu had destroyed his sacred power—Tianyu couldn’t let Sophia, a woman, carry him alone all the way. It would be inconvenient in every way. So, Tianyu had no choice but to continue carrying his bags and follow Sophia for now.
However, halfway there, Sophia received a call from her father, telling them not to return to the castle yet but to go to a secret estate belonging to their family. He would join them there as well.
Although Sophia’s family’s estate wasn’t as large as Count Shawei’s, it had equally beautiful scenery, which made Tianyu marvel nonstop as they drove.
Tianyu’s casual remarks, meant innocently, were taken seriously by Sophia. Given Tianyu’s past actions at Count Shawei’s manor, she immediately became alert. Staring at the beautiful countryside outside, she began complaining, saying things like, “Don’t be fooled by the greenery—it’s full of biting insects,” or “Don’t think the fruit trees here are nice; there are lots of caterpillars on them…”
Tianyu was confused at first, but after some thought, he seemed to understand and suddenly stopped talking, looking at Sophia with an understanding expression.
Sophia’s face turned red as if her trick had been seen through, leaving her speechless. Her fair complexion was flushed with embarrassment; it was evening, and the sunset outside the window along with the gentle breeze created a breathtakingly beautiful scene. An uncontrollable desire arose in her—she wanted to claim this manor for herself! Sophia thought that Tianyu’s intense gaze was directed at her, so she lowered her head even further, repeatedly telling herself, “Ouyang, Ouyang—even if you want a boyfriend, you must choose someone like Ouyang. The person before you certainly doesn’t meet your standards. Ignore him, ignore him…”
…
That night, a sumptuous dinner had already been prepared in the manor. Orsini arrived even earlier than them, waiting for them. Judging by his eagerness, it was clear he was more excited than anyone about this meeting! When he saw Count Shawei looking defeated after his holy powers were destroyed, he wasn’t surprised. He already understood Tianyu’s ways and tactics. When he heard from his daughter that she had been kidnapped along with Tianyu, he immediately prayed to God—not for his daughter, but for Count Shawei, who was sounding so triumphant at the time! However, seeing Count Shawei in such a state, Orsini didn’t want to say much. After all, they had been friends for years, so he avoided further interaction to prevent Count Shawei from feeling embarrassed. Instead, he ordered someone to keep an eye on him for future use.
After dinner, Orsini, his daughter, and Tianyu sat in a secret room separately.
“Chu, I didn’t expect you to be so efficient. Haha, this will definitely disrupt their plans. Especially the huge gains from the Shawei Manor this time—what a surprising surprise!”
“Yes, it was his last-minute idea. Who would have thought it would actually work and yield such a big catch? You don’t know, there were four African priests who used disgusting dark magic to track people’s whereabouts. It seems anything the person touched would do. By the way, Father, do you know what they used…” As soon as the topic turned to the Shawei Manor, Sophia seemed to unlock a valve inside her, and her words flowed endlessly.
Tianyu and Orsini both shook their heads helplessly at this, though they could understand Sophia’s feelings. After all, this was truly her first adventure, and after going through such a major turning point, with Tianyu’s encouragement, she got to indulge in being a bandit in a few steps.
“Hmm, as for Sophia, I need to talk to Tianyu about something now. Go make us some coffee!” Orsini said.
Sophia glanced at the several cups of steaming coffee still untouched on the table and the full coffee pot, then curled her lips in displeasure. “Can’t you find a better reason to send someone away? So much coffee—still need to make more?”
Although she complained, Sophia still got up to leave, looking very unhappy.
“Chu, do you think we can start counterattacking now that she’s gone?” Orsini asked after his daughter left.
“Mr. Orsini, there’s no need to rush yet. It’s fine to prepare, but there’s no need to take the initiative. I think our dear Lord Thorne will soon get impatient and come looking for you. Then you’ll have plenty to do,” Tianyu said with a smile.
“What are your plans for the next step, Mr. Chu?” Orsini asked casually, his eyes twinkling.
“Leisure travel!” Tianyu replied succinctly.
“By the way, Mr. Orsini, your manor has beautiful scenery—it’s truly a paradise on earth!”
“It’s just a small countryside place.”
“Oh, I was wondering if Orsini might be willing to part with it and sell it to me?”
“Hehe, what’s the talk of selling? Since you like it so much, I’ll just give it to you!” Orsini said generously.
“Oh! That’s too kind of you, Mr. Orsini. How can I accept?” After a pause, Tianyu added, “Are all the deeds and property documents in order?”
Orsini wiped the sweat from his forehead, thinking to himself, “You really are shameless!” But he said cheerfully, “Hehe, everything’s in order. I’ll get them for you right away!”
“That’s great!” Tianyu said, flashing his most charming smile.
